[ToloNews] The Presidential Palace on Saturday said the intra-Afghan negotiations will not begin unless 24 Afghan commandos and pilots are released by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , something that is seen as one of the key obstacles in the way of peace.
The Afghan government has so far released over 5,000 Taliban prisoners, including 80 high-value inmates whose release was approved by Loya Jirga, grand council, earlier this month.
According to government data, out of the 400 high-value prisoners, 156 of them have been sentenced to death, 105 of them are accused of murder, 34 of them are accused of kidnapping that led to murder, 51 of them are accused of drug smuggling, 44 of them are on the blacklist of the Afghan government and its allies, 6 of them are accused of assorted other crimes, 4 are accused of unspecified crimes.
Dawa Khan Minapal, a presidential front man, said the Taliban has shown less flexibility towards the release of prisoners so far.
"They [Taliban] have not completed the 1,000 security forces they committed to release. They have released 800 prisoners. The main condition is that they should address their committment," Minapal said.
The first round of the intra-Afghan negotiations is expected to be held in Doha. Some former officials said the efforts for the talks should be expedited.
"Some of our brave young commandos who are in Taliban custody have been relocated from Shahi Kot and areas along the Durand Line. The Taliban has so far failed to release them," said Lotfullah Mashal, a former military official.
"It is not the case that the Taliban is running from this chat. If the Taliban wants peace, they would not be in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... ," said Basir Salangi, former governor of Parwan.
[KhaamaPress] Hezb-e-Islami leader says with the support of India, Afghanistan intends to create a militia group.
In a Friday prayer sermon, Hekmatyar stated, that the Afghan government is taking stands against the process and is taking steps that is dangerous for Afghanistan’s consequences.
He added, India opposes the grinding of the peace processor in relation to Pakistain and wants to form a Militia group with the Afghan government.
The Hezb-e-Islami leader also said that efforts are ongoing in the Northern parts of Afghanistan for the formation of the Militia group, he added the Afghan government is creating obstacles in regards to the grinding of the peace processor, but "Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... agreement with the United States will be implemented" he added.
This comes as national peace council Director Abdullah Abdullah ...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president... previously announced the start of the Intra-Afghan talks in Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... for the coming week.

The government of Indian reacted to Pakistain’s move for hosting the leader of Hezb-e Islami of Afghanistan, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar ... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil... , to speak on the issue of Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... According to local media reports, Hekmatyar participated in a webinar hosted by the government of Pakistain last week and spoke abut the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hekmatyar said India should "learn a lesson from the Afghan jehad" and the only solution to the Kashmir issue is to give Kashmiris the right to self-determination, according to Hindustan Times.
Reacting to Hekmatyar’s presence in the even, Anurag Srivastava, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India, said "We have seen the media reports of the participation of the former UN-designated terrorist in an event organised by the government of Pakistain."
""This is nothing new. Pakistain not only harbours terror outfits but also encourages them. We hope that such participation in public events by a former UN-designated terrorist would not go unnoticed," Srivastava added.
According to reports, Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia also participated in the even.
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Saturday, German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, expressed his country’s concerns over the current scene in the country with regard to violations against the freedom of expression and assembly.Owcza retweeted the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL)’s statement regarding the mission’s concerns over human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... violations, including arbitrary arrests and detention, restrictions placed on freedom of movement and expression.
"We join these concerns and call for moderation and respect of fundamental rights," Owcza tweeted.
"Libyan leaders should act with caution and seize the opportunity created by declarations made on 21 August to make concrete progress towards a ceasefire and the resumption of oil production," the German Ambassador added.
Earlier, UNSMIL called for "calm, the application of the rule of law and the preservation of the rights of all citizens to peacefully express their views."
"The prolific use of hate speech and incitement to violence appears designed to further divide Libyans, increase polarisation and tear at the country’s social fabric at the expense of a Libyan-Libyan solution," UNSMIL added in its statement.

/\ Audible laughter...my buddy says that often.
[Jpost] The United Arab Emirates' US embassy hit back at the critics of its recent deal with Israel, taking to Twitter to slam Iran, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... , Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... , Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, and Hezbollah, among others, for their negativity.
In a series of Tweets posted to the UAE Embassy US account, the Gulf state accused its critics of speaking "nothing but fear and hate," adding "their rants say something about what kind of world they want to see."
The UAE's criticism was not limited to governments and paramilitary organizations. Media outlets also came in for rebuke, among them Al Jazeera English, which the UAE described as a "Qatar State-Controlled News Service."
Meanwhile, ...back at the hoedown, the fiddler suddenly struck a sour note. The dancing stopped abruptly. Everyone looked at Bob... a report for the ADL by David Andrew Weinberg noted: "Peace always has its opponents, and this agreement is no exception. [...] The vast majority of these materials [criticizing the deal] come from media outlets linked to one of three sources: Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... (or its proxies), the Paleostinians, and Qatar. Although the subset of these examples linked to Iran tends to be the most extreme, certain materials from all three places seem to be fundamentally hostile to Israel or propagate intolerant stereotypes."
[Jpost] United Arab Emirates President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan officially scrapped an economic boycott against Israel, allowing trade and financial agreements between the countries in another key step towards normal ties, the UAE’s state news agency reported on Saturday.
The president issued a decree abolishing a boycott law as part of "the UAE’s efforts to expand diplomatic and commercial cooperation with Israel, leading to bilateral relations by stimulating economic growth and promoting technological innovation," the WAM news agency said.
The announcement came as El Al prepared to operate the country’s first direct flight between Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport and the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, on Monday.

[DW] Germans are still split over Angela Merkel ...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Of more than 5,000 people surveyed
more than 50% thought her statement was rather or fully inaccurate
37% said it had turned out to be completely inaccurate.
Unless the translation got mangled, over 87% thought her statement was either rather, fully, or completely inaccurate. In Imperial units, over 87% is called "most". I'm not quite clear on the distinction between "fully" and "completely". Maybe it's a German thing.
More than one in five people surveyed now agree she was right to be so optimistic.
Go, Angela! Wait, one in five is 20%. That means 80% think she was *wrong* to be so optimistic. Pa-tay-to, Pa-tah-to, I guess. It all depends on which end of the telescope you are looking through. Or what you are trying to sell.

I know, European Conservative. But whatever makes it over that threshold for reporting must be serious indeed.
My German not being what it used to be — and even then more suited to Kindergartners and their mothers than philosophy — and my energy not being what it was as well, I have to hope someone with better German skills will take on responsibility for that part of the world.

Another example of self petard-hoisting by the Democratic party.
[HOTAIR] Andrew Sullivan’s take on the danger posed to Dems by chaos in the streets is worth a read. I don’t agree with all of it but Sullivan seems to be making a genuine attempt to not be guided by talking points from either side of the aisle and it’s interesting to watch even if it’s not a completely successful effort. Frankly, some of what he says seems to at least partly contradict other things he’s saying but I guess that’s what happens sometimes when you’re reacting honestly and not just picking sides. Mostly what comes through is his disgust at the rioting which Democrats have only belatedly realized could be a problem.
Here’s one thing I have absolutely no conflict about. Rioting and lawlessness is evil. And any civil authority that permits, condones or dismisses violence, looting and mayhem in the streets disqualifies itself from any legitimacy. This comes first. If one party supports everything I believe in but doesn’t believe in maintaining law and order all the time and everywhere, I’ll back a party that does. In that sense, I’m a one-issue voter, because without order, there is no room for any other issue. Disorder always and everywhere begets more disorder; the minute the authorities appear to permit such violence, it is destined to grow. And if liberals do not defend order, fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... s will.
Here is a quote from Yoom Nguyen, owner of the Lotus Restaurant in Minneapolis, who just witnessed a second assault on his business: "Watching looters bust down our family restaurant is so heartbreaking. Senseless, they’re doing it while laughing and smirking. Not gonna lie, I damn near shot a man tonight. He threw that fucking rock at my family photo and looked right at me. I said ’you motherfucker ...’ tears immediately rolled down my face. I just can’t no more. I’m thankful I walked away but Fuck y’all." This is how violence metastasizes. And as I’ve watched protests devolve over the summer into a series of riots, arson expeditions, and lawless occupations of city blocks, along with disgusting and often racist profanity, I’ve begun to feel similarly. And when I watched the Democratic Convention and heard close to nothing about ending this lawlessness, I noted the silence.
Sullivan’s conclusion from the silence at the DNC (If you're white you ain't right!) ...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate... is that Democrats aren’t willing to call out the extremism in their ranks:
All this reassurance played out against a backdrop of Kenosha, which was burning, and Minneapolis, where a suicide led to a bout of opportunistic looting, and Washington DC, where mobs of wokesters went through the city chanting obscenities, invading others’ spaces, demanding bystanders raise fists in solidarity, with occasional spasms of violence. These despicable fanatics, like it or not, are now in part the face of the Democrats: a snarling bunch of self-righteous, entitled bigots, chanting slogans rooted in pseudo-Marxist claptrap, erecting guillotines — guillotines! — in the streets as emblems of their agenda. They are not arguing; they are attempting to coerce. And liberals, from the Biden campaign to the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... , are too cowardly and intimidated to call out these bullies and expel them from the ranks.
[Bus Insider] The US Justice Department shut down an ISIS-affiliated scam that attempted sell fake personal protective equipment (PPE) through a website and Facebook accounts, which researchers say is another novel way terrorists are taking advantage of the coronavirus pandemic.
FaceMaskCenter.com, a now-defunct website that claimed to sell FDA-approved N95 respirator masks and other sought-after PPE, contained all the hallmarks of a legitimate online store — including accepting credit cards. The website claimed it was "the original online personal protective equipment supplier and was the first of its kind" since its inception in 1996, when in fact the site was created February 26, 2020.
The website was seized by the Justice Department and visitors are now greeted with an official disclaimer and a phone number to call if they were victims of the scam.
It was not immediately clear if anyone purchased PPE from the website; however, when a US-based customer contacted the website to purchase masks for first-responders, a Syrian national living in Turkey responded by saying he could "easily provide up to 100,000 N95 masks, which he claimed to have in his possession," according to the Justice Department's complaint.

[Jpost] SECURITY & DEFENSE: Normalization deal with Arab nation is better than no deal, says ex-IDF general
A historic normalization deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates seemed to disappear from the headlines as soon as it was announced. Instead, the fear that the Gulf state may procure the world’s most advanced jet, rendering Israel’s qualitative military edge ineffective, has been the headline of the week.
Though Washington has been selling Abu Dhabi millions in military deals, it has been bound to preserve Israel’s qualitative military edge (QME) in the Middle East before selling any advanced weaponry to regional states.

[EN.ALGHADEER.TV] Facebook Inc made an "operational mistake" in not acting sooner to remove a page for a militia group that posted a call to arms in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the company’s Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg ...the Peewee Herman clone who owns Facebook. He's got more money than Croesus and thinks he should be regulated by the government because it does such a nifty job with all the other stuff it regulates.... said on Friday. The social media company said on Wednesday it had removed the page for the Kenosha Guard,
...not another Antifa/BLM front group — I haven’t noticed Facebook objections to them — but the local folks self-organizing against invading hordes of anarcho-communists on a bender...
and an event listing there for Armed Citizens to Protect Our Lives and Property as it violated the company’s policy against "militia organizations".
Facebook’s action came after two people were shot and killed during protests in the town on Tuesday night, part of three nights of civil unrest that followed the shooting by a white police officer that left a Black man, Jacob Blake Jr, paralyzed.
Zuckerberg, speaking in a video message published on his Facebook profile, acknowledged the company had received complaints from "a bunch of people" about the Kenosha Guard posting.
"The contractors and reviewers who the initial complaints were funneled to basically didn’t pick this up," he said. "And on the second review, doing it more sensitively, the team that’s responsible for dangerous organizations recognized that this violated the policies and we took it down."
Zuckerberg said the company had not found any evidence to show that the person charged with the fatal shooting during Tuesday’s unrest followed the Kenosha Guard page.
News website BuzzFeed quoted an internal Facebook report as showing the event associated with the Kenosha Guard was flagged at least 455 times,
Goodness! someone has energy to spare...
and a Facebook worker as saying it accounted for 66% of all event reports that day.
Facebook declined to comment on those findings, Buzzfeed said.
Facebook said it would continue to evolve its policies for identifying potentially dangerous organizations.
"This is a new policy we launched last week and we’re still scaling up our enforcement of it by a team of specialists," a spokesperson said.
