[New York Post] It’s hardly shocking to see a boldfaced name out East during the summer. But one sighting took a spy by surprise.
"Strange but true. Just saw Carlos Danger Anthony Weiner at a children’s park in Sag Harbor with his kid," said a source. "I noticed him before he put his mask on," they added.
Of course, Weiner is a registered sex offender, having done time for sending explicit pictures to a 15-year-old in 2016.
Page Six reported earlier this year that parents at his son’s downtown school were up in arms because Weiner was lobbying to be allowed onto the school grounds. He had previously been allowed only as far as the school gates.

He's not being kept from his child. He's being kept from other children due to his sexual proclivities. As a divorced father, you should appreciate that - If you're not like Weiner

^Look up definition of pedophilia, Francis - 15 year is illegal (and immoral, IMO) but it's not pedophilia.

Yea, let's celebrate violence against those who do not voluntarily comply.
So he goes down to Huntington Beach, notes 1/4 have on masks, and wants to try out his invention, and says this:
'I fully expect people to get angry at me,' Pan said in the video. 'I even brought my running shoes in case things got, y'know, racist.'
Yesterday I thought this was all clever. This here, well, I guess this was an exercise born of antagonism instead of curiosity.

Just went to vote in meaningless primary. But I went to the poll. It was actually busy. I told every poll worker they are what makes America great, voted and moved on. I'll be voting in person in November too.
The mask thing is a bad joke, but it's not worth losing your dignity over.

Allan Pan shows what happens when young engineers have free time and decide to test answers to all their nerdy ComicCon wonderings. Before the Rona he made flamethrower Kung Fu fists and tried shooting at Wonder Woman bracers to see where the bullets would go.
What he gleefully demonstrated was that this is not an effective solution, even if it were not assault.

Leveraging his fame to demonstrate physical violence upon 'racists' and 'mask holes' is no longer cosplay, but encouragement to commit assault those who are not on board his idea of how others must live.
Says it himself; I'm going to go to the beach and talk about shooting them in the face and if they don't like that, they're racist.

Starting to wonder if the masks are going to make this worse. Consider that all coronaviruses are notorious for creating a short lived immune response. Something between 3 and 12 months. If that's true, and if the masks actually reduce R-naught (both big "ifs") then there could be a sweet spot where the masks make this thing perpetual. In other words, they slow the infection down to the point where it doesn't burn out before people who already had it start to lose immunity. Fun, right?
A bit of googling for US infant mortality rates by race (for example - scroll down for bar chart) shows the rate for blacks is roughly 2~3 times that for whites. That's in the aggregate without controlling for the doctor's race.

Will the Daily Mail(UK) enlighten us to what the equivalent statistics are in England? Or in France, for that matter. Agree that the smell of BS is strong here.

I would think some factor is missing, such as the parents waiting longer before seeking care, or white doctors being in higher positions so that really bad cases are escalated to them.
#21
I'd look at poor diet, lack of pre-natal care, and overall health first.
My first thought; along the theory that vegetarians and especially vegans have underdeveloped infants. Children born addicted to drugs is a real thing.
The researchers analyzed records on 1.8 million hospital births in Florida between 1992 and 2015.
Oooook...Which Florida?
At baseline, 1,090 out of every 100,000 black babies born died within the first 28 days of life.
That was more than twice the death rate among white babies: 490 per 100,000.
The team attributed this shocking disparity to higher rates of eclampsia and preeclampsia (potentially dangerous high blood sugar during pregnancy) among the mothers while they were pregnant, higher rates of preterm delivery, economic disadvantage and racial bias.
Oh, its the racial bias.
Once again a DM article drinks 16 pints of cheap beer, passes out, and can't figure out why they shit the bed.

From the article: "The team attributed this shocking disparity to higher rates of eclampsia and preeclampsia (potentially dangerous high blood sugar during pregnancy) among the mothers while they were pregnant, higher rates of preterm delivery, economic disadvantage and racial bias."
Perhaps the white doctors are less aware of how to handle this situation.

Seeing as how the Government critters in Sacramento have stifled most utility infrastructure upgrades over the last 40 years because of some endangered amoeba, unsightly towers, excavation permitting or some grievance concocted at the time, I'm surprised that their system fails as little as it does.

In fairness to the incompetent state government, we should acknowledge that this heat is unprecedented since at least last summer.

...When I was in the ROK in the early 80s, dogs were to a surprising extent considered just as much livestock as pets (see also kagogi) but the government made a full-court press prior to the '88 Olympics to get it stopped. They did pretty good in the cities, but out in the country and smaller cities it's still common.
The point here though is this - up north, they never stopped using dogmeat, and if it's to the point where pets are now being confiscated (and keep in mind that in a society where food is often scarce at best, the pets likely belonged to upper middle or upper class Norks because they were the only ones who could afford the luxury of feeding them) then it's bad. Really, really bad.

[AmericanMilitaryNews] A former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer was arrested and faces charges he spied for China for years.
Alexander Yuk Ching Ma, 67, a 15-year agent of the CIA, was charged Monday for selling U.S. secrets to China, NBC reported. Ma reportedly disclosed a substantial amount of highly classified national defense information" to five members of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, including the identities of CIA officers and human assets, information about the CIA’s internal organization and means of CIA communications.
Ma worked for the CIA from 1967 to 1989 and was assigned to work overseas in the East-Asia and Pacific region during part of his CIA tenure. The meeting between Ma and the Chinese officers reportedly happened about 12 years after his retirement from the agency, around some time in 2001. According to the charging documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times, Ma kept in touch with his Chinese contacts as he applied for an FBI position in 2004. Over the next six years, Ma allegedly downloaded, collected or otherwise photographed sensitive information to pass along to China until he stopped work for the FBI in 2010.
Ma was reportedly caught after the FBI began a sting operation in January of 2019. The FBI had reportedly held suspicions about Ma for years but it is not clear as to why the FBI waited as long as it had to investigate Ma.
President Trump doesn’t like spies and traitors, whether serving the Deep State or a foreign state, and does not exempt Communist China.
As part of the sting operation, an FBI agent pretended to be a Chinese government auditor reviewing the Chinese governments handling of Ma as an intelligence source. The FBI agent reportedly showed Ma a video of his 2001 meeting with the Chinese officials to gain Ma's trust. It was not immediately clear how the FBI obtained the footage.
After playing the footage, the FBI agent gained Ma's trust and got him to admit in further meetings that he worked for the Chinese. Meaning, he had been 'flipped' by the Chinese and at some point had become a double agent.
According to the charging documents, Ma told the agent he "wanted ‘the motherland' to succeed" and said he would consider working again for the Chinese government, "perhaps as a consultant."
Ma is charged with conspiring to communicate national defense information to aid a foreign government and, if convicted, faces up to a life term in prison.
Ma is not the only former CIA agent to face charges of spying for China. In May of 2019, Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 54, a former CIA case officer and U.S. Army veteran admitted to spying for China. Lee reportedly devised a document on his computer on May 26, 2010, that detailed specific locations where CIA officers were, as well as the precise location and time frame of a sensitive CIA operation, which was all secret level classified information. He then transferred the sensitive information to a thumb drive, he used to transfer the information.
The New York Times reported in November that Lee was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
So it seems reasonable that Mr. Ma should get the same.

Multiculturalism is the future! Go ahead US government, keep hiring those Chinese foks, giving them security clearances, and access to highly classified documents.
#3
It used to be that if you were from a Communist country, or even had relatives in a Communist country, you had some trouble getting a clearance. Not sure when it changed.

Smaller than a re-entering MIRV, which we are assured is detectable?
Different animal. We can track the launch and the trajectory with thermal, then radar. An MIRV coming in from deep space would most likely catch us completely by surprise.

When I lived at White Sands Proving Grounds in the late 50's Dogs proved better at locating fallen missile parts than man or instruments . Before firing, critical missile parts were sprayed with squalene, a shark liver oil almost odorless to humans but easily detected by dogs.
[Fierce Biotech] Just weeks after ExeVir Bio was spun out of a Belgian research institute to develop a llama-inspired antibody treatment for COVID-19, a rival effort has sprung up at the University of California, San Francisco. Now, the UCSF team is reporting promising preclinical results for its aerosol formulation—and suggesting it could be used as a self-administered form of protection against the virus.
Llamas and other camelids fight off pathogens like viruses with tiny antibodies called single-domain antibodies or "nanobodies." The UCSF team used protein engineering to make a synthetic nanobody that prevents the spike protein on the surface of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, from binding to healthy cells and infecting them.
In tests against the live virus in the lab, an aerosolized form of the nanobody rendered SARS-CoV-2 incapable of binding to the ACE2 receptor on healthy cells that line airways. The synthetic nanobody remained functional after it was freeze-dried, exposed to heat and aerosolized, they reported (PDF) in the preprint journal bioRxiv . The UCSF team dubbed the aerosol formulation "AeroNabs."
UCSF’s Walter said the llama-inspired AeroNabs could be used as a sort of personal protective equipment, a "stopgap" until the vaccines become available. UCSF is planning human trials and is in discussions with partners who could provide manufacturing and distribution support.

...One of the FIRST things we can expect from a Biden Administration would be an essential dismantling of the military health care system for pretty much everybody except active duty personnel. Obama's people couldn't quite bring themselves to do it; I have no doubt that Biden's team won't make the same mistake.

[FoxNews] Spokesperson for social media giant says satire site 'was mistakenly caught in a spam filter'
Twitter offered an apology to the popular conservative satirical website The Babylon Bee Monday after the tech giant briefly suspended the site's account.
Bee editor-in-chief Kyle Mann initially alerted fans that Twitter had taken action against the outlet's account.
"Your account, TheBabylonBee has been suspended for violating the Twitter Rules. Specifically for: Violating our rules against platform manipulation and spam," Twitter wrote in an e-mail posted by Mann. "You may not use Twitter's services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupt's people's experience on Twitter."
The suspension sparked a major outcry among conservatives who launched a #FreeTheBee campaign on Twitter.
Less than an hour later, the Bee's account had been restored.
