[Horse & Hound] Following last week’s wonderful pictures of The Queen riding one of her beloved Fell ponies for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown was imposed — H&H brings readers an exclusive insight into Her Majesty’s relationship with her horses.
This week’s (11 June) edition of H&H is a royal special, featuring both The Queen and her granddaughter Zara Tindall, released to coincide with Her Majesty’s official birthday, and available to buy online and in shops.
The Queen reveals through Horse & Hound her favourite horses of all time; those she has ridden and those she has watched succeed in the show ring, on the racecourse and in eventing.
Her Majesty was pictured on Monday 1 June in Windsor Home Park, riding 14-year-old Fell Balmoral Fern. Fells and Highlands are among those revealed as her favourites of a lifetime spent with horses, in a selection that also covers a European Championship-winning eventer, a dual Classic winner, and a stallion whose stable name was The Monster.
PR outside of China regarding Wuhan Lab as source is failing for China.
Crisis center for #COVID19 set up by 🇷🇺 on 1/27 consists of 12 senior officials, including Deputy FM Igor Morgulov (policy towards 🇨🇳) & Deputy Head of Foreign Intelligence Andrey Moryakov. Seems like effort to understand origin of the virus was a top priority from day one.

...SPECIAL AGENT IVAN: "President Putin, we have undeniable, incontrovertible proof that COVID-19 escaped from a lab in Wuhan, and that the Chinese obscured and lied about it from the beginning!"
PUTIN: "So, it's the Americans, then?"
IVAN: "Absolutely, sir!"

[Aljazeera] North Korea sees little use in maintaining a personal relationship between leader Kim Jong Un and United States President Donald Trump if Washington sticks to hostile policies, state media reported on Friday - two years after the two men held their first summit.
Policies from the US prove Washington remains a long-term threat to the North Korean state, and its people and North Korea will develop more reliable military forces to counter that threat, Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon said in a statement carried by state news agency KCNA.

Note the "continuing claims." Although 40 mm people have applied for benefits, only 20 mm are still getting them. The others have most likely gone back to work.

The total claims number has fallen for 10 straight weeks but remains extremely high on a historical basis.

[BREITBART] The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh announced on Tuesday increased penalties for crimes against cows, considered sacred by Hindus, including up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to 500,000 Indian rupees ($6,607), the Times of India (TOI) reported.
State government authorities have amended the 1955 Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act to include stricter punishments for anyone who harms cows or endangers their lives.
People found guilty of slaughtering a cow will now face a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum sentence of ten years. Before, there was no minimum jail term for the offense, and the maximum penalty was seven years behind bars. Under a new "endangering life" category, people who endanger a cow’s life, such as by denying it food or water, or cause "injury" to cows by trying to illegally transport them, will face a prison term ranging from one to seven years.
In addition, authorities will now publicly identify offenders, placing the name and photograph of the accused in prominent places of business in his area of residence.
News of the new ordinance comes shortly after Indian police announced last month that they were investigating the latest case of a Moslem man killed by "Hindu cow vigilantes" after he slaughtered a cow in Indian-administered Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... , where the killing of cows is also banned.

[IsraelTimes] The Paleostinian Authority refused Wednesday a planeload of medical supplies from the United Arab Emirates to help fight coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... since it was coordinated with Israel rather than with them.
The Etihad Airways flight, which landed in Israel on Tuesday, was the second airborne delivery of humanitarian cargo by the UAE that the Paleostinians say they have turned down in a month.
"We refuse to receive it because it was coordinated directly between Israel and them (the UAE)," Paleostinian civil affairs minister Hussein al-Sheikh told AFP.
"We were not part of the coordination."
The first shipment — 14 tons of medical supplies earmarked for the Paleostinians to help cope with the coronavirus pandemic — was also delayed at Ben Gurion Airport last month as UN officials worked to find a way to distribute it after the Paleostinian Authority announced it would not accept it. However, some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves... a UN official made clear to The Times of Israel at the time that there was far greater need for the supplies in the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip, where Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, rather than the PA, holds sway.

...Mainly because USAF is not a good place to be an airman these days. (HINT: very much along the lines of, "the floggings will continue until morale improves".)

The Air Force recently announced an open bidding process to select the future location of U.S. Space Command headquarters, which for now will remain in Colorado Springs. The headquarters of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are located in the Pentagon. The Space Force would be no different.

Query: Fewer and fewer *manned* planes (not drones!) and steadily increasing numbers of 'zampolits' (AKA as Diversity Officers and other REMF staff solely interested in SJW)...?

Magpie,
As I understand it, it's a combination of several things - unending deployments, micromanaging, mandatory fun, charity, and volunteer work, and essentially seven day a week work schedules for a lot of the maintainers. Got out 22 years ago, and it was starting to go south then - we ran the guys who won Desert Storm out in the Great Drawdowns, and what was left was all too often MASH's Major Burns with actual authority.

[NYPOST] An Illinois school has launched an investigation after a teacher claimed "white privilege" was as offensive as the N-word, according to reports.
The Palatine High School teacher, who was not identified, prompted backlash when she said in since-deleted Facebook posts that calling out white privilege was racist, news station WGNTV reported.
"I find the term ’white privilege’ as racist as the N-word. You have not walked in my shoes either so do not make assumptions about me and my so-called privilege," she reportedly wrote.
The educator, who teaches social studies, apparently then went on to call Jesse Jackson and civil rights hustler Al Sharpton ...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor... "race-baiters," the outlet said.
"You think America is racist? Then you have been hoodwinked by the white liberal establishment and race-baiters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton," she wrote.

/\ If former President Lyndon Johnson were still around he might not be in full agreement. In gentlemanly terms, perhaps his view might simply be referred to as a 'getting out the vote' issue.
