[KhaamaPress] The Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... group in Afghanistan has claiemd it has released 52 Afghan soldiers with an aim to save the lives of the prisoners from the risk of the novel coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... (COVID-19) disease.

[ALMARSAD.CO] Member of the Defence and National Security Committee in the House of Representatives (HOR), Ali al-Tekbali, said that discussion are currently underway on the formation of a new government. He explained that the new government will take charge of running the country, and work on unifying state institutions and activating law enforcement and the judiciary, as well as supporting the army in removing any obstacles that stand in the way of establishing the state. "We'll have new logos and slogans and shit!"
In a statement to Al Ittihad on Wednesday, Ali al-Tekbali said that the Libyan authorities are not concerned with the UN’s approval of the new government, noting that only the party with military control on the ground will be able to resolve the Libyan crisis.
The member of the HOR said that the Government of National Accord (GNA) was not a Libyan choice. He said that the UN imposed this government on the Libyan people, and that Fayez al-Sarraj’s government was not included in the constitutional declaration and was not the choice of the people.

[ALMARSAD.CO] Speaking on change in the Libyan political scene after Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... announced his withdrawal from the Skhirat politcal agreement which is backed by Fayez al-Sarraj’s Government of National Accord (GNA), Algerian political analyst Toufik Kouider Chichi argues that the withdrawal decision is justified. He said that given Haftar’s continuous efforts to call for a dialogue and discussion around finding approaches to resolve the political obstacles in the country failed to obtain any significant response from the GNA.
In a statement to Media24 on Wednesday, Kouider said that western states were unable to understand Field Marshal Haftar’s announcement and described as an individual decision, completely failing to take into consideration his popularity and the fact that the Libyan National Army controls 90% of Libyan land.
Kouider also noted that there are reasons for this logical decision, as there has been notable contradiction in Fayez al-Sarraj’s position, who calls for political resolution while ignoring calls repeatedly made by Haftar through Berlin and Russia.
Kouider pointed out that Haftar is now left in a very challenging position, after the European Commission announced its rejection of Haftar’s "individual decision", which it considers to be irresponsible, as well as Russia’s rejection of this decision. The European Commission is calling for a political dialogue and for the compliance with the Skhirat Agreement that came in perpetuation with the Berlin Conference and which the Commission considers as the only solution for the conflict.

Foolish! The GNA cannot now count on a single European nation. Also, it is not wise to pucker the French. They're not too hot in direct attacks but they are awful good at reprisals.

Dealing with the US has been like they've been hitting a tennis ball against a backboard for all these years and then someone slipped in a cannon ball. Kinda came as a big surprise.

For some obscure reason this reminds of that scene in Better Call Saul where Kim has to explain to the drug lord that if the only guy he can trust with his money is Saul, he needs to go back to the drawing board.

If it were China they were sending the gold to, I’d understand — China advanced Chavez money some years ago against X amount of future oil sales at a fixed price that was then below market... but now is not. Sending it to Iran makes no sense.

Venezuela's exports to India decreased by 15% when the sanctions kicked in. Last year Indian Oil and Reliance too found new partners elsewhere. That's the majority of the business. America's Chevron too is leaving soon. Maduro was thwarted when the UK took a third of his gold last year, at Trump's behest.
It was anticipated, that Iran would have to be paid for assisting Venezuela's oil and manufacturing industries. Hardware, machines and infrastructure worth more than $300 million were delivered, on Iranian Mahan Air flights. These would be difficult to pay for, and it's believed it had already been agreed Maduro would pay with the dwindling gold.
The mystery is, about $500 million in bullion is reported to have been given to Iran in the article. But all the Iranian help to Maduro till date, comes to about $ 350 million, give or take a few.

[DW] Finland has become the latest European country to agree to house dozens of asylum-seeking minors from over-crowded Greek refugee camps. Over 13,000 children are living in squalid conditions in camps like Moria.
Greece's Migration Ministry announced Thursday that Finland will take in 130 refugees from Greek refugee camps. The number includes 100 unaccompanied children and 30 adult asylum-seekers.
This makes Finland the latest EU country to help with the refugee crisis in Greece, where tens of thousands of asylum-seekers live in often squalid conditions in camps or temporary housing. Germanyand Luxembourg accepted 47 and 12 unaccompanied children last week respectively.
A Finnish Interior Ministry official said in February that Finland would take up to 175 asylum-seekers from camps in Cyprus, Malta, Italia and Greece to "alleviate the humanitarian situation" of refugees.
Thursday's announcement was a "decision of practical solidarity," according to Greece's Migration Ministry. Many of those in the camps have fled from Afghanistan and Syria.
EU WILL HOUSE 1,600 CHILDREN
The EU plans to shelter around 1,600 unaccompanied minors in its member states. The UN estimates that 36% of the 38,000 people in Greece's five major refugee camps are minors, around 13,700 children in total.
The 30 adults will be reunited with other family members already in Finland. Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... is set to become the next European country to take in 22 unaccompanied minors within the next two weeks.

[DW] Asylum applications had been steadily rising for two years, but with much of Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... in coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... -induced lockdown, March 2020 saw a drop of almost half in the number of applications compared to the month before.
Applications for asylum in the EU dropped by 43% in March compared to February owing to travel restrictions brought in because of COVID-19, the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) announced on Thursday.
There were 34,737 applications were lodged in March, a drop of almost half compared to February. The EASO also noted that before the outbreak reached Europe, applications in January and February had increased by 16% compared to the same months in 2019. Asylum applications in the EU have been persistently high for the last two years.
"March figures are not truly indicative of asylum-related migration trends towards the EU+, but are rather the result of COVID-19 containment measures," the EOSA said in a statement.
"Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak in Europe in March, Syrians (14,441) and Afghans (13,245) continued to lodge the most applications for asylum, as well as Colombians (10,155) and Venezuela ...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south... ns (10,098)," the statement said. "These four citizenships accounted for 38% of all applications lodged in the EU overall in the first two months of the year."
The EASO pointed out that asylum offices in each country were affected to different extents by the COVID-19 outbreak, so the 43% drop is not equal across member states.
CAN REFUGEES SEEK ASYLUM AT THE MOMENT?
Non-essential travel remains banned between most EU states and in and out of the bloc, making it difficult for refugees to enter EU countries.
The EU's executive, the European Commission, published advice to member states on April 16 on ways to ensure the continuity of asylum procedures.
"Even in a health emergency, we need to guarantee individual fundamental rights," said Commissioner for Home Affairs Yiva Johansson. "The Commission fully acknowledges the difficulties that member states face in the current situation."
Measures aim to restrict social interactions, such as through video interviews and flexibility over deadlines.
[OpIndia] The Indian army has issued warnings to its personnel against Pak intelligence agencies’ new tactics to hack the phones of Indian Military personnel through an application similar to the Aarogya Setu app.
The army stated, "Inimical Intelligence agencies have developed a malicious app by the name of Aarogya Setu.apk. Such apps were found to be sent by Pakistain-based Pak Intelligence operatives to Whatsapp groups of Indian Army personnel."
Reportedly, Pak intelligent agencies have developed a fake Aarogya Setu app designed to steal information from Indians. The app has the capability of collecting the locations of users and sending it to its creator without the knowledge of the user. Therefore, if the app is downloaded on the phone security personnel, Pakistain will be able to track the movement of such personnel and their troops. Contact lists and any other sensitive information stored on the device can also be accessed by the malicious software and send it to Pakistain.
As per reports, the Pak agencies are using social media accounts with Indian names to target the Indian personnel. Reports suggest that the known Pak Intelligence Operative account under the fake name of one ’Anoshka Chopra’ also found sending the malicious application to Indian Army personnel.
In its warning, the Indian army had asked its personnel to sensitize the Pak Spy agencies’ designs while downloading the application.

The Aarogya Setu app is developed by government agencies and is being used by more than 75 million people across the country. The army has directed its personnel to download the AarogyaSetu app only through the website of the central government that is mygov.in or Android play store or iOS Apple play store.
Army Chief, Gen. Manoj Mukund Naravane had earlier said that India is busy fighting coronavirus epidemic both internally and globally while Pakistain is busy exporting terrorism.
The Army Chief said, "While we are busy not only helping our own citizens but the rest of the world too by sending medical teams and exporting medicines. On the other hand, Pakistain is only exporting terror. This doesn’t auger well."

Military bureaucracy is so goddamn stupid. Fools have to report everything to the ministry. Idiots.
There was a great chance to get to a domestic cell and some traitors. Now, it's blown. It's the equivalent of the fuzz loudly blaring their sirens so criminals can escape, saving them the trouble of arrest and paperwork.
