A cross-border tunnel recently discovered by U.S. authorities exits in a San Diego warehouse right next to a busy Customs and Border Protection (CBP) port of entry. It gets better. The southern California warehouse is manned by Illegal immigrants even though it is situated just a few hundred yards from a hectic border crossing staffed with federal agents around the clock.
A Mexican national with legal residency has been arrested and charged in connection to the operation, federal prosecutors announced this month. His name is Rogelio Flores Guzman and he helped construct the tunnel, which runs 2,000 feet from a Tijuana warehouse to the south San Diego depot. The U.S. has charged the 31-year-old with trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana via a subterranean tunnel stretching from Mexico to a warehouse in Otay Mesa. When authorities entered the tunnel, they found around 575 packages of drugs worth nearly $30 million, according to a bulletin issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ). This sets a record because it marks the first time that five different types of drugs are found in a tunnel, according to the feds.
Agents from a special tunnel task force confiscated 394 packages containing 585 kilograms of cocaine; 133 packages containing 1,355 kilograms of marijuana; 40 packages containing 39.12 kilograms of methamphetamine; Seven packages containing 7.74 kilograms of heroin and one package containing 1.1 kilograms of fentanyl. "Cross-border tunnels always spark fascination, but in reality they are a very dangerous means for major drug dealers to move large quantities of narcotics with impunity until we intervene," said the federal prosecutor in charge of the case, U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer. "We have seized this tunnel, confiscated almost $30 million in drugs and now we’ve charged one of the alleged crew members."

My California National Guard Task Force had personnel supporting all 5 of the Ports of Entry on the US/Mexico Border, including the commercial inspection Port at Otay Mesa. In 93 I was invited to visit a Customs/USBP/DEA discovered tunnel in a warehouse proximate to the Port just opposite the end of the runway of the Tijuana Airport in Mexico, where there was a cluster of warehouses on the Mexican side. The tunnel had a hydraulic lift and went down about 30 feet and had a rail cart system, lighting and ventilation connecting over to Mexico. Both warehouses were owned by the same US cit of Mexican heritage, who also owned the interstate freight system the warehouse used. This had been going on a very long time...

"An attempt by the crew of the Mirage F1 fighter to launch missile strikes on the positions of the air defense systems resulted in another loss for the forces of the Government of National Accord — the combat aircraft was shot down by the Russian Pantsir-S air defense missile system deployed on the territory controlled by the Libyan National Army," the Russian publication said.
"In the presented video frames you can see the wreckage of a destroyed combat aircraft, which, allegedly, tried to destroy the positions the air defense systems of the Libyan National Army. There is no direct evidence that this is specifically about the Pantsir-S air defense missile system, however, given the information from generally available monitoring resources, the incident occurred in the area where these Russian-made complexes were previously seen," they added.

They then switched their focus to Germany after receiving instructions from two high-ranking IS leaders in Syria and Afghanistan, prosecutors said.
The five men had been planning to attack targets including US air bases and had already ordered bomb parts online, as well as stocking up on firearms and ammunition.
They also planned an liquidation attempt on a person they believed had expressed Islam-critical views in public, and had already begun spying on the intended victim, prosecutors said.
Two of the suspects are also accused of travelling to Albania to carry out an liquidation attempt in exchange for $40,000. However, the hip bone's connected to the leg bone... the project failed and they returned to Germany.

German weekly news magazine Der Spiegel reported that the men's alleged leader, a 30-year-old Tajik man identified only as Ravsan B., has been in prison on firearms charges since last year.
Prosecutors said the men swore allegiance to IS in early 2019, and that they had contacts with high-ranking figures from the group in both Syria and Afghanistan.

"Ottoman Turkish warplanes targeted a PKK shelter in Zeni Warte area in Rawanduz district, which is only 200 meters away from the headquarters of the Peshmerga 7th brigade," claimed Kwistan Ahmed, the head of Rawanduz district.
The shelter was, according to Ahmed, established by PKK guerrillas a week ago between two telecommunication towers.
"The bombardment also resulted in destroying two telecommunication towers that belong to Korek Telecom and Asia cell," Ahmed said.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... claims that four PKK members were killed in the strike in Rawanduz, which is to the northeast or Erbil.
"4 PKK murderous Moslems neutralized by an air operation in Qandil in northern Iraq. Our operations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized," Turkey’s defense ministry tweeted on Wednesday.
Firat News Agency (ANF), a news portal with close ties to the PKK, reported aerial attacks by Ottoman Turkish warplanes in the area, but did not claim any damage on PKK targets.
A commander of the 7th brigade of Peshmerga forces, who spoke with Rudaw on the condition of anonymity, said that the Ottoman Turkish bombardment of Zeni Warti on Wednesday caused light injuries to four Peshmerga fighters belonging to the 7th brigade.
"Four Peshmerga in our brigade [...] sustained minor injuries," the commander said.
According to Bakhtiyar Qadir, a Rudaw news hound in Rawanduz, two Ottoman Turkish warplanes also targeted areas of Zeni Warti just hours before on Tuesday night.
MAKHMOUR STRIKE
PKK affiliated-media outlet Roj News reported on Wednesday that Ottoman Turkish warplanes have also targeted an area in Makhmour district, sixty kilometres southwest of Erbil city.
Three non-combatants were killed in the Ottoman Turkish airstrikes, Bewar Amin, the head of Makhmour Camp’s media department, told Rudaw English on Wednesday.
"Today around 13:00, Ottoman Turkish warplanes conducted airstrikes outside of Makhmour camp," Amin claimed.
"Three civilian women were killed by the Ottoman Turkish airstrike today near Makhmour camp," Bewar said. "Two women were killed immediately by the airstrikes, and another woman succumbed to her grave injuries and passed away later on."
Makhmour camp hosts more than 12,000 Kurdish refugees who fled persecution by the Ottoman Turkish state, largely in the 1990s. The camp has a governing council. An armed force, the Makhmour Protection Units, was established in 2014 when ISIS Death Eaters attacked the area. The units are believed to have ties to the PKK.
Last December, an airstrike on the camp killed three and injured seven.
The PKK is headquartered in the Qandil mountains in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, near the border with Turkey and Iran.
Turkey routinely launches land and air operations against the group within its borders, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), as well territories disputed between the KRI and Iraq's central government, such as Shingal and Makhmour. It also regularly targets Kurdish forces in northern Syria, accusing them of ties with the PKK.

All of these 'bans' and 'orders' should've been lifted weeks ago; to me it's little more than an overreaction fueled by the panic of mobs & the media (granted, some redundancy there). I've been getting calls from clients over the past month and they all share the following trait - they're scared shitless about their lives being ruined by this crap.
'We had to destroy the village in order to save it' - that will forever be my takeaway from all this. That, and the ChiCom leadership must be killed by the thousands - they need to pay a steep price for this, and whether they did it on purpose is irrelevant.

The structure has been under threat from both the Syrian and Turkish governments through their conflict on the link contested by the two governments through the Bab Al-Hawa border crossing. On 28 May 2015, the church was captured by the Kurdish YPG/YPJ but was subsequently lost to factions opposing the Assad government. In May 2016 the Russian Air Force attacked the church, destroying the remains of the pillar of St Simeon and damaging the rest of the ruins.[1][12] By 8 February 2020, the hilltop near the site was occupied by the Turkish Land Forces.[1]

The destruction of the huge Buddhist statues in Afghanistan was the first I started paying attention to the Taliban. Until then they were just one out of many potential fundamentalist/Islamist/etc players over there whether in charge or not. But when they blew up those ancient, massive, impressive and irreplaceable statues, it struck a different chord of disgust.
Also, typical UN - when something is designated a World Heritage site, the UN provides little to no assistance, financial or otherwise. It is up to the home country to deal with the increased world interest generate by the designation. Designation has contributed ironically in the degradation of some of the sites so named.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Some disgruntled jihadist rebels recently took a video in which they threatened to behead Ottoman Turkish Army soldiers along the M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway) in the Idlib Governorate.
In the video released by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... (HTS) can be seen filming right next to Ottoman Turkish Army soldiers near the town of al-Nayrab in eastern Idlib.
The jihadist in the video then states that he likes the Ottoman Turkish military, so he will ’behead’ them and leave their heads along the road.
"W really like you, so we will behead you God willing. Do not be afraid, we will not take your heads with us, we will leave them on the highway," jihadist warns.
This video was likely taken around the same time that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham snuffies confronted a Ottoman Turkish military patrol near the town of al-Nayrab.
During the confrontation, some of the jihadist rebels fired shots at the Ottoman Turkish military, prompting the latter to break up the protest and take control of the highway.

"The IRGCN vessels repeatedly crossed the bows and sterns of the U.S. vessels at extremely close range and high speeds, including multiple crossings of the Puller with a 50 yard closest point of approach (CPA) and within 10 yards of Maui‘s bow."
Images from the incident show three Iranian vessels in close proximity to Puller at once, one vessel crossing directly in front of Paul Hamilton, four vessels coming up fast behind Paul Hamilton, and more. As has been the case in other similar incidents, the IRGCN sends a large number of fast, nimble boats to speed in and out of the paths of much larger U.S. warships, causing an unsafe situation for the larger ships that take longer to stop or change direction.
The Navy and Coast Guard crews issued multiple warnings via bridge-to-bridge radio, five short blasts from the ships' horns and long-range acoustic noise-maker devices, but they received no response from the IRGCN for an hour, when the vessels finally responded to the radio calls and increased the distance between the Iranian and U.S. ships.
"The IRGCN's dangerous and provocative actions increased the risk of miscalculation and collision, were not in accordance with the internationally recognized Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) ‘rules of the road' or internationally recognized maritime customs, and were not in accordance with the obligation under international law to act with due regard for the safety of other vessels in the area," reads the Navy statement.
The Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Army have been conducting joint interoperability operations in the North Arabian Gulf since late March, the Navy said.

[Judicial Watch] Mexican drug smugglers are really getting bold. A cross-border tunnel recently discovered by U.S. authorities exits in a San Diego warehouse right next to a busy Customs and Border Protection (CBP) port of entry. It gets better. The southern California warehouse is manned by Illegal immigrants even though it is situated just a few hundred yards from a hectic border crossing staffed with federal agents around the clock.
