[hindustantimes] In a special operation by Afghan security forces today, the so-called emir of Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) Mawlawi Abdullah aka Aslam Farooqui was arrested on charges of orchestrating the attack on Kabul Gurdwara on March 25.
Pakistani national Mawlawi Abdullah, who was earlier associated with proscribed Lashkar-e-Tayebba (LeT) group and then Tehreek-e-Taliban terror group, replaced Mawlawi Zia-ul-Haq aka Abu Omar Khorasani as ISKP chief in April 2019. Farooqi belongs to Mamozai tribe and from Orakzai agency area on Pak-Afghan border.
According to counter-terror operatives in Kabul and Delhi, Mawlawi Farooqi on the instructions of Haqqani Network and LeT used Kasaragod resident Muhsin Tikaripur along with three other Urdu-Punjabi speaking attackers to massacre 27 innocent Sikh men and women in Shor Bazaar, Kabul. Mushin was killed in the attack and his mother in Kerala was informed of his death. The leader of Haqqani Network Sirajuddin is also the sword arm of the Taliban with very close links to the Pakistani deep state. An Indian national Tihan Singh was also killed in the attack.
Although 27 Sikhs were killed in the terror attack that was criticised by US, allies and India, the main target of ISKP was the Indian Embassy in Kabul as both Pakistan and Taliban want India out of the developing Afghan political equation in the context of a peace deal with US. Similar threats have been posed to Indian consulates in Jalalabad, Herat and Kandahar with India forced to withdraw its staff for purposes of safety.
Mawlawi Farooqui is now going to be questioned by Afghan National Directorate of Security to find out who ordered the attack on innocent Sikhs and what was the role of Pakistan in the terror strike. Farooqui is also expected to come up with names of his other terrorists in his group, which operates in Nangarhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Kabul and Kandahar area.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a statement said the Special Forces of the directorate conducted a complex operation and arrested Abdullah Orakizai alias Aslam Farooqi, the leader of ISIS Khurasan.
The statement further added that the NDS Special Forces also arrested 19 other top ISIS commanders during the raid including Qari Zahid and Saifullah alias Abu Talha Pakistani.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Security said Aslam Farooqi has confessed in his initial confession that the regional intelligence agencies have robust connection with the terror group.
Farooqi is a native of Orakzai agency which is located in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
Farooq was operating as the commander of Daesh’s military wing in Pakistan’s Peshawar city and was deployed in Abdul Khel valley of Achin district of the eastern province of Nangarhar, said the statement.
The NDS also stated that after the killing of Abu Saeed Bajawri, Farooqi was appointed as Daesh’s shadow governor in Afghanistan.
Farooqi was "enjoying close relations" with the other terrorist groups such as "the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba,” said the statement.

[Arutz 7] - Two people were killed and four injured Saturday in a stabbing attack in southeastern town of Romans-sur-Isère, about 20km north of Valence.
According to the mayor of the French town, a man armed with a knife attacked people shopping in town, killing two of them and wounding an additional five.
The first victim of the stabbing was a Romanian national who had recently left his home. The terrorists slit the man's throat in front of the victim's girlfriend and son. He then entered a tobacco shop and proceeded to stab the owner along with two customers. From there, he continued to a butcher shop and supermarket where he resumed the killing spree.
French authorities have thus far denied reports that the terrorist yelled "Allahu Akbar!" (Arabic for "G-d is great) prior to carrying out the attack.
i24NEWS reported that according to news sources, the perpetrator is a 33-year-old Sudanese asylum seeker.

Islamic psychos do love their knives and throat slicings don't they? It's up close and personal like the Prophet intended. If you feel the need to slaughter an infidel use a knife. Plus they're lega to own even in Britain.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd al-Sha’abi) announced on Friday a new military operation to hunt down the remnants of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) in the northeastern province of Diyala,.
Citing a statement from the Popular Mobilization Units, al-Sumaria TV reported that their forces targeted the Islamic State’s positions in Khanna, south of Khanaqin, in the eastern countryside of the Diyala Governorate.
The statement added that "the operation aims to eliminate the remnants of ISIS in that region and fully secure the area."

[Rudaw] Kurdish security forces in Garmiyan on Thursday announced the arrest of a local Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) leader who has confessed to taking part in several attacks on Peshmerga forces in the Diyala towns of Jalawla and Qaratapa.
Mahmoud Khurshid, 68, also known as Abu Ali, was arrested by the Garmiyan Asayesh Forces on March 16 in the town of Rizgari, Kalar. His arrest was only announced on Thursday, however, after he made a confession.
Khurshid confessed to having taken part in the bulk of ISIS attacks on Kurdish Peshmerga forces in Jalawla and Qaratapa since 2014.
"He has confessed that he was among those who fought the Peshmerga in Jalawla and Qaratapa," Brig. Gen. Nawshirwan Ahmed told a presser on Thursday. "He has the blood of Peshmerga forces on his hands." So remove them
According to data provided to Rudaw by Peshmerga forces on the Garmaser Front, more than 200 Kurdish troops were killed in a series of engagements with the jihadists around the two disputed Kurdish towns during this period.
ISIS took control of Jalawla in early August 2014, burning down the home of Kurdish and Shiite families. The Peshmerga drove out the forces of Evil in November 2015.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... the city and other areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad then fell to the Iraqi Army and Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in October 2017 following the Kurdistan Region’s referendum on independence.
Ahmed said Khurshid has also confessed to the killing of two Asayesh personnel in Jalawla in 2007.
Khurshid says he joined al-Qaeda in 2007 but later pledged allegiance to ISIS soon after it was founded.
"I started with al-Qaeda. Most of the time back then we used to fight American forces. I continued with them until the end of al-Qaeda in 2008. When the Islamic State came, I joined them," Khurshid told Rudaw during Thursday’s presser.
Khurshid is originally from the Arab inhabited village of Tatran in Qaratapa, just north of Lake Hamrin on the road to Tuz Khurmatu and on to Kirkuk.
When ISIS was at the height of its power, Khurshid traveled between Iraq and Syria to areas under its control.
After the territorial defeat of ISIS in Iraq in late 2017, Khurshid infiltrated Jabara and stayed there undetected by Iraqi forces for more than two years.
A few weeks ago, he travelled to the town of Rizgari under false documentation and pretended to be blind. It was here that local Asayish detained and identified him.
According to the Garmiyan Asayesh, 11 ISIS forces of Evil have been arrested in Garmiyan since the beginning of 2020 ‐ including three leaders, known as emirs.
Parts of the Garmiyan region have long been disputed between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government. The area remains a hotbed of ISIS activity due to the lack of cooperation between Kurdish and Iraqi security forces.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish military has launched a new attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate this week.
According to a field report from the Aleppo countryside, Ottoman Turkish troops targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the city of Manbij, injuring a few soldiers in the process.
The field report said the Ottoman Turkish military’s attack around the city of Manbij was unprovoked, as the Syrian Army rarely carries out any hostilities in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.
The Manbij countryside is where the Russian and Ottoman Turkish armed forces conduct joint patrols; they have done so for several months now.
Manbij was captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in 2016 after a short battle between their troops and the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS).
Since then, Manbij has been a source of contention between the U.S. and Ottoman Turkish forces, as the latter demands the withdrawal of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) from the area.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and jihadist rebels traded attacks along the Jabal Al-Zawiya region’s western axis, a field source told Al-Masdar News from the town of Joureen.
The clashes would break out on Friday when jihadists from the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) jihadist group launched artillery shells towards the Syrian Army’s positions in the Jabal Shashabo area of the Jabal Al-Zawiya region.
In response, the Syrian Arab Army fired several artillery shells towards the jihadist positions north of the Jabal Shashabo area.
The two sides have since traded attacks every few minutes, despite the existence of a fragile ceasefire that was established in Moscow, Russia on March 5th.
According to a military source in Damascus, the ceasefire agreement is currently in limbo, as the Turkish Armed Forces were supposed to force the militant groups to withdraw from the M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway).
Since the militant groups have refused to leave the M-4 Highway, the Syrian Arab Army has increased their presence in the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, with reports of a new operation in the coming weeks.
