[WashingtonTimes] Hunter Biden reached a temporary settlement in his child support dispute, just two days before he was scheduled for a mandatory court appearance to explain why he had not turned over his financial information.
Biden has been fighting the paternity suit, filed by the mother of his one-year-old child, Lunden Alexis Roberts, since last May. The agreement was approved Monday afternoon by Arkansas Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer, postponing Biden's in-person court appearance on Wednesday to determine whether he should be held in contempt of court for allegedly failing to submit his tax records for the past five years and other financial documents.
Biden agreed to pay monthly child support starting Feb. 1, according to a copy of the order filed in the Independence County Circuit Court in Arkansas. The amount of the support was redacted, but the court said the final figure will be determined after Biden turns over relevant financial records. He will also have to pay support retroactively dating back to Nov. 2018, according to the deal.
The agreement delayed a hearing on motions to hold Biden in contempt that were filed by Roberts’ attorneys last week. Her attorneys claim Biden has failed to provide information ordered by the court, including the names of any of his businesses, tax documents and all sources of income for the past five years. The contempt motions will be considered during the next scheduled pre-trial hearing on Mar. 13 and will be withdrawn if Biden turns over the relevant documents by Mar. 1, according to the deal.
Biden also agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to Roberts for her "attorneys fees and costs."
An attorney for Roberts welcomed the deal.
"He's doing the right thing by finally stepping up and paying what he should've been paying," Clint Lancaster said in a statement to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Monday. "He's going to begin paying monthly child support. He's going to pay retroactive child support back to November of 2018. And he's going to pay attorney's fees and costs."
Brent Langdon, an attorney for Hunter Biden, told the Gazette that the agreement "would avoid the necessity of a hearing on Wednesday."
Biden had denied that he was the father of Roberts' 17-month-old child. A court-mandated paternity test determined in January that Biden was the father.
Biden said in a court filing that he has been unemployed with no income since last May. He also claimed he had significant debts.
He has been living in a $12,000-per-month Hollywood Hills rental home since last summer.
How does this play with his destruction in the Senate today by the fine lady from FL?

The photos were snapped while Hunter Biden faces a court order to disclose his financial information in a paternity lawsuit filed by his former lover, Lunden Alexis Roberts of Arkansas. The Washington Examiner revealed that Biden and his wife are currently renting a $3.8 million designer home in Hollywood Hills for $12,000 a month.
Doubtful. Hunter Biden owns 10% of the (initial) $1.5 billion Chinese investment fund. It is now worth a bit over $2 billion. When the fund liquidates and the $1.5B returned, that leaves Hunter with $50+ million as his share. Think he will be upgrading to a Bugatti.
[GatewayPundit] Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace lit into Fox contributor Katie Pavlich during a panel discussion Monday, angrily lecturing Pavlich to "get your facts straight!" The conflict came in a discussion about potential witness testimony at the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump set to resume Monday, comparing the Clinton impeachment with Trump's. Moderator Bret Baier told Wallace to "tone it down".
Wallace calls out his co-panelist for lying, and Bret Baier tells Wallace to 'tone it down.' Classic. Chris Wallace to Katie Pavlich: "Katie, what you're saying just isn't true ... get your facts straight!"
.@KatiePavlich is correct. Clinton was being sued for his sexual assaults in this case on Paula Jones. During that process Lewinsky's affair came to light. In the end Clinton committed 11 felonies, paid almost $1 million in fines to Jones and AR disbarred him. https://t.co/6oqMxbRHXD

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN...
I think Fox needs to understand that if people want to be fed garbage there are all of the above dumps they can go to. Not necessary at all for them to have trash on their own network.
[Daily Wire] Democrat presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg refused to tell a Democrat voter on Sunday that her pro-life views were welcomed in the party after being repeatedly pressed about the issue during a Fox News town hall event.
"I am a proud pro-life Democrat," Kristin Day, a member of the audience, told Buttigieg. "So, do you want the support of pro-life Democrats, pro-life Democratic voters? There are about 21 million of us, and if so, would you support more moderate platform language in the Democratic Party to ensure that the party of diversity and inclusion really does include everybody?"
"Well I respect where you’re coming from and I hope to earn your vote, but I’m not going to try to earn your vote by tricking you," Buttigieg responded. "I am pro-choice and I believe that a woman ought to be able to make that decision. I know that the difference of opinion that you and I have is one that we have come by honestly and the best that I can offer, and it may win your vote, and if not, I understand, the best I can offer is that if we can’t agree on where to draw the line, the next best thing we can do is agree on who should draw the line and in my view it’s the woman who’s faced with that decision in her own life."
Fox News host Chris Wallace interjected: "This is an interesting moment because President Trump spoke at the March to Life movement, he was the first president ever to actually appear at the March to Life movement, and I’m curious, Kristin, were you satisfied with the answer you got for the mayor?"
[Right Scoop] Senator Kelly Loeffler, a new GOP Senator who was appointed the seat of Johnny Isakson by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, is hitting Mitt Romney today for ’appeasing the left’ with the entire Bolton saga:
Keep in mind that she’s running in 2020 to keep her seat and plans to spend big bucks to do so. Some are interpreting this tweet as her way of trying to appeal to the pro-Trump base. I’d say mission accomplished.

Ref #3: I question anyone that has an investment in the WNBA
I suspect there is little need to question the motivation for the investment. It's was a long-term political play. Just guessing, but I'd say we're likely to be seeing much, much more of Loeffler before 2024.

I'm with you besoeker, they were worried she wouldn't be right wing enough. Looks like she is starting out good to me just by telling it like it is to Romney.

You've got to wonder if Biden decided to run for the presidency to gain cover for his and his son's Ukraine shenanigans. Biden announced his run on April 25, 2019. Trump had his conversation with Zelensky on July 25, 2019, about 3 months after Biden announced. The whistleblower, a Trump-hater and associate of Biden and Brennan, most likely knew about or anticipated impending threats from a Trump initiated Ukraine corruption investigation. Report: Schiff Aide, Whistleblower Wanted To “Take Out” Trump. What Did Schiff Know and When Did He Know It?
If there are going to be witnesses, let’s have a real investigation into Ukraine corruption. Let’s hear from:
1. Adam Schiff,
2. Jerrold Nadler
3. The whistleblower
4. John Brennan
5. Alexandra Chalupa
6. The Bidens and others who had interests in Barisma.
7. Others
The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration weighs in on the House’s NASA authorization bill, saying it’s “helping to spark a robust exchange” on how to achieve the long term goal of humans to Mars. [That much is certain.] pic.twitter.com/KeUFSyYjB1
I hadn't even thought about it in this way! It would make sense as Boeing has had a string of failures recently, and poor performance would hurt its fulfilment of US government contracts in the military sector.
A balanced evaluation of the new NASA appropriations bill: "If we are going to explore Mars in a safe and sustainable way, we will require a strong in situ resource utilization capability and significant technology development using the surface of the Moon." https://t.co/M4oQD5XzEY

$$$ will rain down from the congressional welkin ... into the Boeingian (executives') pockets
... andinto the pockets of their captive Congresscritters

Sure thing, Dems - as soon as you sign off for $75 billion for a border wall. That or something similar should be brought up if / when this bill goes to conference.

Gotta support those retired US military officers in the employ of Boeing.
Besides, the US gum'ment bailed Boeing out in the '70s or so. What's a little single-source contract gonna hurt?

Snarks are easy, this is a bit more complex. SpaceX is successful because they control the vendors and the process, not unlike what NASA is trying to do with Boeing. When NASA has multiple vendors on the program there is redundancies that are not complimentary, causing costs to soar. Take the Boeing or SpaceX name out and ask if it is still a bad idea. We have shown that NASA is way to expensive, other space providers have proven cost effective. And I think the days of forcing companies to team on Govt contracts are about over. It has proven time and time again to be a schedule and price killer. BTW, Boeing does not need a bail out. With the 737Max line running and not delivering Boeing still made a profit this year, not great but in the green. Boeing has hundreds of aircraft to deliver this year, they don't need this to survive and prosper.
