[American Thinker] We often describe the specter of tens of thousands of unvetted migrants rolling into our country in terms of "losing control of the border," but a new piece by Daniel Horowitz describes what's going on at the New Mexico border near El Paso as something just a bit more literal.
Writing for Conservative Review, Horowitz found: Our elected officials in Washington appear to "happy" as well. They must be, they're doing very little about the escalating problem.

Maybe the answer is to hold state law enforcement in border states responsible for drug traffic into the rest of the country. Put a few county sheriffs and maybe a couple state police commissioners in ADX Florence for life and things would change quick.

What happens when more than one cartel realizes how good the gig is? They'll start to fight, with each other. So the kind of violence Mexico has seen with cartels fighting over turf in strategically useful places is effectively about to be imported here.
[Mark Steyn] On this second anniversary of The Mark Steyn Club, we're proud to present the first of a special two-part edition of The Mark Steyn Show in which I talk with George Papadopoulos, the first Trump campaign member to plead "guilty" in the Mueller investigation. I've seen plenty of three-minute telly hits with Mr Papadopoulos and always wanted to know more, so I figured, after a year or more of waiting, that I might as well interview him myself.
There were two reasons I was intrigued - first of all, because (as I've written before) young Papadopoulos seemed to me to be obviously the "mark" of multiple high-level well-connected figures from America, Britain, Italy, Australia and elsewhere, but also because several of those persons such as Boris Johnson and Alexander Downer were known to me personally. George Papadopoulos has now set down his account of what happened these last four years of his life in a new book called Deep State Target, which I highly recommend. And just within the last twenty-four hours the Attorney-General has appointed a prosecutor, John Durham, to investigate the origins of the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" - the "counter-intelligence" operation that targeted Papadopoulos and other Trump campaign staffers.
That's quite something: the cabinet officer to whom the FBI is politically accountable needs a special investigation to figure out what a subsidiary of his department was up to during the last election campaign. There is much more to come out.
So we begin where George's story begins - with a young Beltway think-tank wonk watching an unlikely presidential candidate descend an elevator in a Fifth Avenue skyscraper. Click below to watch:
[RT] A publicly-funded educational show for children 4-8 about an anthropomorphic aardvark took a turn for the even weirder, when it decided to teach kids the importance of accepting adult male-male inter-species love relationships.
Come on, if there was one thing kids’ TV programming was desperately crying out for, it was a gay cartoon rat getting married, teaching us all a timely lesson about “diversity.”
So, that’s exactly what the season premiere of the Public Broadcasting Service's (PBS) “Arthur” cartoon delivered. The episode featured a surprise wedding between the titular aardvark’s humanoid rat teacher and his male partner who appears to also be an aardvark...as CNN put it, “leaving us all in happy tears.”
Must see interview.
[ConservativeTreehouse] Curtis Ellis was special advisor to Secretary of Labor Acosta in the Trump administration. He is now an outside government advisor to America-First Policies, an unaffiliated economic advisory board and advocacy group. In this video Ellis walks through the big picture behind the U.S. -vs- China Trade confrontation.
[Ynet] Tehran's 60-day ultimatum to Europe, China and Russia to renegotiate the 2015 agreement brokered by Obama and rejected by Trump could leave the Islamic Theocratic Republic with no option but to go cap in hand to the Americans, unless the ayatollahs are playing a more dangerous game
Iran’s leaders don’t have suicidal tendencies. Their every move is calculated, with cost-benefit considerations in mind. Thus, the latest crisis which saw US military move Patriot missile batteries to the Mideast - fearing an Iranian attack - will probably result in some type of negotiations between the two sides.
In the Western world, however, no one understands exactly what’s going on inside the heads of the ayatollahs and to where this will escalate.

If the ayatollahs are concerned about economics they should consider very carefully what a shooting war would do to their economy.

[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... makes no secret of its intention to once again deploy its Syrian militia proxies, known as the Ottoman Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) or the self-styled National Army, in future campaigns against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). Ankara is actively investing in the fighting force to fix its shortcomings, exhibited time and again since its first deployments on the Syrian battlefield in 2016.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
