[FoxNews] House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes filed a $150 million lawsuit in Virginia state court against The McClatchy Company and others on Monday, alleging that one of the news agency's reporters conspired with a political operative to derail Nunes' oversight work into the Hillary Clinton campaign and Russian election interference.
The filing, obtained by Fox News, came a day after Nunes, R-Calif., revealed he would send eight criminal referrals to the Justice Department this week concerning purported surveillance abuses by federal authorities during the Russia probe, false statements to Congress and other matters.
In March, Nunes filed a similar $250 million lawsuit alleging defamation against Twitter and one of its users, Republican consultant Liz Mair. In Monday's complaint, Nunes again named Mair as a co-defendant, charging this time that she conspired with McClatchy reporter MacKenzie Mays to spread a variety of untruthful and misleading smears -- including that Nunes "was involved with cocaine and underage prostitutes" -- online and in print.

A spokesperson for McClatchy told Fox News late Monday: "We have no comment and stand behind the strong reporting of The Fresno Bee," the McClatchy-owned publication cited throughout Nunes' lawsuit.
Nunes is from the Fresno region, and McClatchy led a hit-job to ruin his re-election bid.

[EpochTimes] A newly obtained internal message from the Denver-based Platte River Networks firm that serviced the personal email system used by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for official diplomatic business referenced a “Hillary cover up operation work ticket archive cleanup,” the non-profit government watchdog Judicial Watch said Monday.
The email with the cover-up reference is contained in FBI notes on a February 2016 interview of an unidentified Platte River Networks official.
Judicial Watch obtained the notes as part of more than 400 previously unreleased FBI documents a federal district court ordered turned over to the non-profit as a result of its Freedom of Information Act suit.
In the Dec. 11, 2014, email, an unidentified Platte River Network official told another that “I’m kind of freaking about Gresham. Thoughts on what to do with [name redacted].”
The official responded that “Its all part of the Hillary coverup operation. I’ll have to tell you about it at the party.” A smiling emoji was inserted by the responder between the two sentences.
The “Gresham” reference appears to be to the Chicago-based Gresham Partners LLC. It’s not clear what if any connection there is between that firm, which describes itself as “an independent investment and wealth management firm that has been serving select families, family offices and endowments since 1997,” and the “Hillary coverup operation.”
In another of the newly released documents, an unidentified individual working with an Intelligence Community Inspector (ICIG) General inspector told a Department of State official in a June 27, 2015, email that “I have personally reviewed hundreds of documents in the HRC collection. I can now say, without reservation, that there are literally hundreds of classified emails in this collection; maybe more.”

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe on Monday unveiled the results of a three-month "grand debate" launched by President Emmanuel Macron in response to the protests so ordinary people could express their views on France’s economy and democracy.
Philippe says "the debate clearly indicates the direction: we must cut taxes and cut them more quickly." At the same time, however, he said the government must cut public spending.
Macron is expected to unveil a series of economic measures next week.
The yellow vest movement, prompted by a fuel tax hike in November, has expanded into a broader revolt against Macron’s policies, which protesters see as favoring the rich and big businesses.

The Texas Democrat condemned Netanyahu for siding with a "far-right racist party in order to maintain his hold on power."
"I don't think that Benjamin Netanyahu represents the true will of the Israeli people or the best interests of the US-Israel relationship, or any path to peace" for Israelis and Paleostinians, added O'Rourke.
