They need to send SWAT teams now to their offices and homes to ensure all their records are collected and held. So they don't vanish. Invite Fox along. And a day later, raid them again. Then randomly for the next six months.

Comey is seeking the protection of the House of Representatives who were put in power via legitimate elections, voters from parts of this nation who more and more think like Comey. And he knows it.
But, Ebbavirt, those voters have been misled by decades of MSM bullshit. If they would all just read Rantburg...

...and don't forget the brainwashing that takes places in today's educational system from kindergarten all the way up to post-graduate studies in colleges and universities.

Meant to say, I'm not so sure about the legitimate elections part. There was a lot of Dem primary election rigging in 2016. In 2018, there were a number of close elections which seem to have all swung to the Dems. I worry more about Dem rigging than Russian meddling.
[DCWHISPERS] The Russia investigation did not come from nothing, of course. Moscow did try to influence the 2016 election, part of a long history of attempted involvement in American politics going back to the days of the Comintern. This Russian activity prompted President Obama to tell Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... personally to "cut it out" or face "serious consequences." And the FBI gave the Trump campaign a standard counterintelligence briefing on the possibility of foreign interference in the summer of 2016, multiple government sources told NBC News and CNN.
Yet Obama officials also treated Trump campaign staffers as targets themselves. They used cooperative foreign intelligence services to chat them up overseas, both to put a layer of deniability between them and this questionable behavior, and to get around prohibitions against spying on American citizens. The recently released transcript of the House Committee on the Judiciary and Committee on Government Reform and Oversight interview with Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos goes into great detail how this targeting was conducted. Papadopoulos claims that foreign governments are now cooperating to reveal more about these activities.
There are also numerous classified documents related to the collusion illusion that have been either hidden or released in severely redacted form. Last September, President Trump instructed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice immediately to declassify materials related to the Russia investigation, including "all text messages ... without redaction" of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page and Bruce Ohr, as well as documents concerning the warrant application under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act for Trump adviser Carter Page.
Democrats objected that declassifying text messages regarding the Russia investigation will compromise FBI "sources and methods," and the move was delayed after "key allies" objected.

I'd like to think there is a slow burn happening for a true investigation, but I'm not holding my breath. Far too many big name Dem players need a fair trial and quick hanging. With half the population propagandized to hate and discard anything that doesn't fit the leftist narrative I doubt any investigative result will have meaningful consequences for anyone.
As an aside, someone on this board referred to Obama as a "shit talking jackass" a year or so ago and I'm happy to say I have only used that term when referencing him since then. It occasionally makes for an uncomfortable pause in dinner discussions but it's worth it. :)

Yeah, I ain't holding my breath. Especially since many eGOP members (McStain being one) were neck deep in making sure the fake information got passed around and the investigation going.
There will be a couple sacrificial lambs to appease the plebs, but that's it. The main players will continue to grow fat and rich in their corruption.

Really. If you were the Russians (or the French or the Chinese or the British or the Japanese or the Israelis or...), wouldn't you be very interested in the election of the head of state of the most powerful nation on earth and try to influence it to your benefit?

Trump will try to time this for maximum effect during the 2020 campaign, and the Dems and their allies will try to crash the economy at the optimum point. Both sides will be trotting out endless scandals. It's going to be exciting.
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] What part of "Congress shall make no law" does House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings ...Representative-for-life from Maryland, representing half of Baltimore City, which makes his district ultra-safe, and most of Howard County, which is out-populated by the city. Cummings' politix are so liberal they're tedious... not understand?
The Maryland Democrat, suddenly handed the investigative and subpoena powers of the House, must think there isn’t enough executive branch misconduct to investigate. That would explain why, when finally given the power to hold the Trump administration accountable, he is instead recklessly undermining the First Amendment's freedom of the press by questioning whether news organizations went and made editorial decisions he doesn’t like.
Yes, it is every bit as dumb as it sounds.
Cummings is now investigating why Fox News did not publish a story in October 2016 about an alleged 2005 affair between then-candidate Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... and porn star Stormy Daniels.
According to former Fox News editor Ken LaCorte, the story, filed by celebrity news hound Diana Falzone, was "half-cooked." The nine-paragraph piece she filed was based on an item that had appeared online briefly in 2011, before being pulled under legal threat, on a website that publishes reader-contributed rumors. Given that Daniels had publicly denied any affair with Trump at that point, LaCorte decided that the story needed more confirmation than the anonymous second-hand and third-hand sources that Falzone had dug up.
"The story wasn’t close to being publishable," LaCorte recently wrote for Mediaite, "and my decision to hold it was a no-brainer. I didn’t do it to help Trump and never said nor implied otherwise. It was such an easy call that I never even informed my direct boss or anyone in management about it."

In reading through Priesap's testimony about the Clinton email deal(from yesterday's link), Cummings was the first Dem to ask a question and proceeded to quote Trump's tweets about Comey and ask - one by one - did Priestap agree with them. Whadda tool.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
