[WGNTV] Ald. Edward Burke, the longest serving alderman in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,... history, has been charged with attempted extortion for "corruptly soliciting business" for his private law firm, according to a federal complaint unsealed Thursday.
If convicted of extortion, Burke faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Burke’s attorney requested a preliminary hearing for Jan. 18 at 2 p.m.
Burke was released on a $10,000 bond. Under the conditions of his release, he must not violate any laws, must give a DNA sample, not change his residence or phone number. He also cannot travel outside of northern Illinois with the exception of his home in Powera Lake, Wisc. Burke must also get rid of the 23 firearms he owns.

Why DNA sample? Paternity involved?
Is his buddy fast Eddie V. mentioned anywhere in the charges?
[Mediaite] Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sat with Anderson Cooper for an upcoming 60 Minutes interview set to air this Sunday, a portion of which has been released as a promotion. In the released segment, Ocasio-Cortez reveals how exactly she suggests paying for the environmental agenda known as the "Green New Deal" ‐ with remarkably higher tax rates for the super wealthy.
Ocasio-Cortez suggests in the clip that in her esteem, people should be doing more to pay their "fair share." When Cooper pressed on how she could possibly pay for the deal, she pointed to the progressive tax rate system in the 1960s, explaining that if you earn 0 to $75,000 a year, you would only pay 10% or 15% in income tax.
She continued:
"But once you get to the tippie tops, on your $10 millionth, sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60% or 70%. That doesn't mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate. But it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more."
"tippie-tops" - from our Economic Genius™
Cooper replied that she was proposing a "radical agenda."
"If that's what radical means, call me a radical," she said. Or a Socialist Commie Moron

For some reason Cortez reminds me of the old saying that the most dangerous thing in the world is a second lieutenant with a map and a compass. Except she doesn't have a map. Or a compass.

Since the super-wealthy are mostly Democrats I'm fine with that.

And guess how many of those wealthy people can make it mobile so it goes outside the US? And how many that can afford good accountants that makes it look like they only make a few hundred thousand?
And how many of those millionaires in the Valley which are really middle class in that area will not cry and scream? And how many of the actual middle class will pick up the tab like usual as they get screwed by the elite?

Yesterday I saw a graphic that said half of Congress is millionaires, while only 1% of the rest of the country is/are millionaires. But, as Mr. Vader notes, (#3) once you get into that tax bracket, you have a lot of choices.

Just put a 10% property tax on homes over $1 million. Or maybe 50%.

I'd tax the unimproved value of land, (or the full cost of the land and bundled rebuilding insurance) at around 8% and return it back as an adult dividend like the Alaska Oil revenue is (oh and scrap SNAP benefits etc).
[Breitbart] In a brief written for her hometown newspaper that was published on Thursday, the same day America’s first Palestinian-American congresswoman will swear her oath to America using a 1734 English translation of the Quran that belonged to Thomas Jefferson, Tlaib says it is time to begin checking and balancing the president.
"We must rise to defend our Constitution, to defend our democracy, and to defend that bedrock principle that no one is above the law, not even the President of the United States," argued Tlaib. "Each passing day brings more pain for the people most directly hurt by this president, and these are days we simply cannot get back. The time for impeachment proceedings is now."
John Bonifaz, the co-founder and president of the advocacy group Free Speech For People, joined Tlaib in composing the piece. Bonifaz is well-known for co-authoring The Constitution Demands It: The Case for the Impeachment of Donald Trump.
In the Detroit Free Press article, both Tlaib and Bonifaz argued that members of Congress "do not need to wait" until Mueller’s investigation is complete before attempting to impeach the president:
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace... returned to power as speaker of the House on Thursday
She is the first person in more than 50 years to return after losing speakership
She took the gavel in a move that marked a new chapter in President Donald Trump's tenure in Washington as he faces a Democratic Party on a collusion course with his administration
Trump made a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room to congratulate her
She strode down the aisle of the House in triumph to take the speaker's gavel
California Democrats serenaded her with 'California Here We Come'
Her grandkids helped her vote for herself during the vote
The first day for lawmakers will be long on work and short on glamour
They will be doing business of the day and voting on legislation
Lawmakers spent the morning getting their member pins and voting cards
Several had family members with them

The worst Congress in American History was the 110th with this fake thing.
It is how you get F-35, LCS, and GM bailouts and Pelosicare which was enshrined as obamacare.
I Hate, HATE
Watching the idiocy flow easily in the high governments.
At some point, I have duty to end this and ready if needed.
