"Omar denied the allegations, telling The Associated Press the claims about her family are “disgusting lies” and saying she’s being attacked because she’s Muslim. But she has declined to provide documents or answer specific questions."
[Politico] A California judge on Monday ordered Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti to pay $4.85 million to an attorney at his former law firm, the first time the potential presidential candidate is being held personally liable in the case. A man who should spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dennis Landin issued the ruling after turning down a request from Avenatti to have the matter moved to federal court, which the opposing side called a delay tactic.
Avenatti did not appear at the court hearing and never filed opposing arguments in the case.
The judge said Avenatti must pay the money because he personally guaranteed a settlement with Jason Frank, who had worked at his former firm.
Frank had alleged the firm misstated its profits and that he was owed millions.
Avenatti, who is toying with a possible 2020 presidential run, told The Associated Press on Monday that Frank owes him and the firm $12 million "for his fraud." He did not provide details.
The ruling follows a court ruling from a U.S. bankruptcy court judge who ordered Avenatti's former firm to pay $10 million to Frank in May. The $4.85 million is in addition to that judgment.

Evicted:
Less than an hour after his defeat in the Los Angeles lawsuit, the firm, Eagan Avenatti, suffered another setback at a trial in Santa Ana: The Irvine Co. won a court order evicting Avenatti and his staff from their suite at the Fashion Island mall for failing to pay the last four months of rent.
The twin blows came as Avenatti was heading to New Hampshire for his third visit to the state that kicks off the 2020 presidential primaries. He is exploring a run for the Democratic nomination, and his troubled financial history could emerge as a significant campaign issue if he joins the race. …
In July, Eagan Avenatti paid the monthly rent of $52,235 but the check bounced, according to the landlord.

[RT] Transgender activists are up in arms over reports that the Trump administration is considering a policy which would require government agencies to define a person’s sex based solely on biological considerations.
According to a New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... report, the Department of Health and Human Services is planning to establish a legal definition of sex under Title IX, a federal civil rights law that bans gender discrimination.
While many transgender activists argue that a person’s gender is largely their own choice, a department memo seen by the Times argues that a person’s sex should be defined "on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable," with a person’s genitals at birth defining their gender.
"The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence," the memo reportedly reads.
The news was met with fury by transgender activists, and a protest was held in New York’s Washington Square on Sunday night. The Transgender Law Center said that the proposal is an effort "to erase our very existence as trans people," and accused the Trump administration of planning "the destruction of our communities."

roughly one birth in 2000 has enough ambiguity in their sex organs to be labelled Hermaphrodites (having both male and female body parts.) However, only one of those is functional.
[NationalPost] Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic says more people, particularly transgender women over 30, are asking for reversal surgery, yet their regrets remain taboo.
To date, all of his reversals have been transgender women aged over 30 wanting to restore their male genitalia. Over the last two decades, the average age of his patients has more than halved, from 45 to 21. While the World Professional Association for Transgender Health guidelines currently state nobody under the age of 18 should undergo surgery, Prof Djordjevic fears this age limit could soon be reduced to include minors. Were that to happen, he says, he would refuse to abide by the rules. “I’m afraid what will happen five to 10 years later with this person,” he says. “It is more than about surgery; it’s an issue of human rights. I could not accept them as a patient as I’d be afraid what would happen to their mind.”

How does having a gender defined as male and female adversely affect transgenders?
OED defines transgender as, "Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex."
Seems like if you don't have a defined birth sex you can't claim to be transgender.

In my 20's I thought about getting a tattoo and stopped at the following thought: "Will I be happy in 20 years with this 'thing' on my arm?"
Plastic surgery, particularly gender changing surgery is just a wee bit more permanent than a tattoo.

I don't think that transgenders should be discriminated against; it's too late to choose the amount of prenatal androgen exposure one had as a fetus. While they might feel uncomfortable using a male/female bathroom they have to understand that others may be similarly uncomfortable sharing the same. The trap is that they cause as much discomfort in others as they feel themselves.
What is the solution? Building three bathrooms: Male, female, and in-between?
If a state or local government feels strongly enough about it they can change the building codes.

If they want to be treated equally before the, that's fine by me. But it is not equal treatment if I am required to call you by any of 59 gender pronouns you've dreamed up. You got wedding tackle. Use the men's room. No wedding tackle, use the ladies.

Sorry, Jack. You don't know people born with a brain of a male and body of a female, or a body of a female and the brain of a male. I do. For a very few, not all switches in the brain click to the same sex as the equipment would indicate. These medical disorders are documented in the Disorders of sex development (DSD).
I am not advocating for a 3rd birth sex. You are either XX or XY. But I can imagine how confusing it must be for these people.

The best thing that can be done for those whose self-image does not match their physical sex is cognitive-behavioural therapy to help them accept themselves. This doesn’t mean they must become frilly females or macho men — it is a mistake of categorization to demand that all those who have or lack a Y chromosome must behave and dress within narrow and rigid parameters.

I saw the future at a Missouri State Park last summer - 20 individual rest rooms, all the same. Toilets, no urinals. I went in after a mother and small child. It was messier than most men's rooms!

[RT] Twitter hashtags failed to stop Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court ‐ but maybe a hex will prevent him from serving? RT met up with a group of witches in Brooklyn who seemed to think so.
In what might be described as the ultimate last-ditch attempt to sabotage Kavanaugh’s appointment, a coven of witchcraft enthusiasts convened in Brooklyn to cast a hex upon the newly-minted Supreme Court Justice. Kavanaugh’s confirmation sparked a nationwide debate after he was accused of beer-fueled sexual misconduct in high school. But where the senate failed, Brooklyn’s witches hope to succeed.
Although well aware that he could be turned into a newt at any moment, RT’s Caleb Maupin attended the sorcery summit in hopes of learning more about the #Hexistance. He also crossed paths with Christian activists, who said that they were at the event to counter its Dark Magick message of "hate."

Yeah, I heard about this one.
At first I prayed that they would be of no effect.
Then I had them bounce back on them sevenfold.
Then I spiced things up by having them miss Kavenaugh and land on Ginsberg.
Hey, don't look at me THAT way...I pray as the Spirit Moves me....

Why is it that it is so easy to identify democrat women even before they open their mouths? Could it be the unstyled grey hair, the birkenstocks, the general look of crazy?
[Telegraph] The European Union is drawing up plans to control Britain’s tax policies after Brexit, leaked documents seen by The Daily Telegraph disclose.
According to draft documents, the EU wants to ensure the UK pledges to keep its tax rules aligned with those of the bloc as part of any future Brexit agreement.
[restricted paywall at this point in the article]
Dropping the title into the Google app gives the addition of the following before the announcement of the subscription paywall:
Such a move would prevent the UK from becoming a low-tax economy by cutting its corporation tax rate to attract business. And – depending on the wording of any agreement – it could mean that any future changes to the EU’s tax rules would need to be followed by the UK, even years after Brexit.
The document was written by the European Parliament’s TAX3 secretariat following a meeting with the Brexit...

[Hot Air] Senator Bernie Sanders is campaigning for House Democrats, hoping that the party will pick up enough seats to take back the House next month. But in an interview with the Hill today, Sanders said he’s not a believer in the blue wave that the left has been predicting for months. He believes control of the House is very much up in the air at this point:

[Breitbart] Democrat candidate Sean Casten spoke during an interview on Sunday about President Trump’s tax cuts, calling for them to be "completely eliminated."
Casten, who is running against incumbent Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) in a close race for Illinois’ Sixth Congressional District, told WLS in an interview on Sunday that he believes "the tax reform that was passed should be completely eliminated" because most of the money from the tax cuts went to people who did not need it.
"By giving a tax cut to corporates in the top 1 percent, 83 percent of the tax cut went to people who didn’t need it," Casten said. "And it hasn’t triggered investment. It hasn’t triggered wage growth. What it’s triggered is a massive increase in dividends. And when 35 percent of U.S. equities are owned by foreigners, that means that more money left the country from the tax bill than flowed to 99 percent of Americans."
Despite Casten’s views on tax cuts not helping Americans, most Americans say they supported the tax cuts passed under the Trump administration’s tax reform package. A poll conducted shortly after the tax reform bill passed found that 51 percent of Americans approved of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

This is so densely stupid it's hard to unpack. Try this, Sean: Outlaw dividends payments by US companies and see how the retirement community and pension funds like that. Check your will first. Or, prohibit the investment of foreign capital in US companies; take two aspirins and call us in three months.

[LidBlog] One of the most prominent “research” groups behind the attacks on conservative free speech on the Internet this year is a company called “New Knowledge.” But now a new review of the company shows that one of its biggest backers is one of our biggest international opponents, the Chinese Government.
New Knowledge co-founder Jonathon Morgan describes his company as a “cybersecurity company specializing in disinformation defense for highly visible brands under attack by coordinated disinformation campaigns. Through machine learning and Ai, we detect threats and provide brand manipulation protection before damage is done.”
It is this “disinformation” that New Knowledge has been hired to root out and it is their work that has served as a basis for attacks on conservatives by The Washington Post and The Atlantic, not to mention the efforts by Google, Facebook, Twitter, and others to eliminate conservatives from the Internet.
Morgan, who is also the founder of a left-wing group called Data for Democracy, wrote a piece in 2016 claiming that the “radical right” is a threat to the nation.
So, where does New Knowledge get its money? Well, one of its top donors is a company called GGV Capital. And where does GGV Capital operate from? Apparently China.
Remember, there is no such thing as private companies in China. All business operates under the thumb of the Chinese government. If GGV is based in China, it exists under the control of the Chinese, one of our biggest enemies.
This can only mean that it is the Chinese who aiding in determining who is allowed to have a voice on the Internet in the U.S.A.
