Egypt court orders retrial of Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Badie
[Al Jazeera] A Cairo court has ordered a retrial of the Moslem Brüderbund's leader Mohammed Badie and other senior figures from the group from October 7, judicial sources and state news agency MENA reported.

Badie, the Brotherhood's spiritual leader, has already been sentenced to death and prison terms in other trials since Egypt's military removed President Mohammed Morsi, also a member of the Brotherhood, in July 2013.

According to MENA, the retrial relates to a case in which Badie and 14 others were handed life sentences for incitement to commit murder and attempted murder of anti-Moslem Brüderbund demonstrators near the group's headquarters in June 2013.

Four others were sentenced to death in the February 2015 ruling.

The new charges include premeditated murder, attempted murder, beating to death and possession of unlicensed weapons, MENA reported.

It is not clear why the charges were modified but according to Egyptian law, charges can be altered if new evidence arises.

Europe
Germany arrests six alleged right-wing terrorists
[The Local de] On Monday, Germany’s federal prosecutor’s office arrested six men in Saxony and Bavaria on suspicion of forming an armed right-wing terrorist organization.

The suspects, men aged 20-31, were "pursuing a revolutionary goal based on their right-wing extremist convictions," in which they were planning violent and armed attacks on foreigners and political dissidents, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

They had allegedly planned for a violent attack to take place on German Reunification Day on Wednesday.

According to the authorities, several apartments and other premises in Saxony are being searched, and more than 100 Saxony police officers are involved in the operation.

The six arrested Germans are suspected, among other things, of having founded a right-wing terrorist organization called the Chemnitz Revolution together with 31-year-old Christian K, who was already arrested by the public prosecutor’s office on September 14th. They are also suspected of having tried to purchase semi-automatic weapons.

The investigators also accuse the suspects of a racist attack on the Schlossteich island in Chemnitz. On September 14th, Christian K. and Sten E., Martin H., Marcel W. and Sven W. - armed with glass bottles, quartz gloves and an electrical impulse device - are said to have attacked and injured several migrants. They acted together with violent supporters of other right-wing extremists groups.

#6  I'm curious if it is a legit action to enforce the law and prevent crime or a "Thought Police" action?

The intent seems to be charging them mostly with conspiracy crimes.

There are important regional elections in October however, so political motives on the side of the prosecution are a given.

The name of the 'terrorist' organization is "Revolution Chemnitz." This is interesting because 'Chemnitz' became symbolically relevant to the refugee issue only after the protests at the end of August.

On September 14th, Christian K. and Sten E., Martin H., Marcel W. and Sven W. - armed with glass bottles, quartz gloves and an electrical impulse device - are said to have attacked and injured several migrants.

Attacks of this nature are not uncommon at all. They're reported in the local mainstream media and in local police reports. They're not reported in national news platforms.

This attack is uncommon only because ethnic Germans are the alleged aggressors and 'migrants' are the alleged victims.

For example:
Last Saturday in Halle, Germany 3 ethnic German youths were attacked, beaten and kicked by a a group of about 10 youths of "southern" appearance. One 16 y/o sustained a knife wound.

This is local news only.

In fact the stabbing murder that triggered the Chemnitz protests would have made no national or international news without the protests.

Police had discovered a Facebook profile with the name "Revolution Chemnitz" back in 2014 using vile Nazi language and advertising a group called Nationale Sozialisten Chemnitz. Note that these people are not AfD or Pedida stuff, they are true hardcore Nazis.

This is a strange name for a neo-Nazi group.

'Chemnitz' is not specifically significant in Nazi mythology, and neo-Nazis' aspiration to power usually goes far beyond a mere metropolitan area.

Perhaps this group initially had some connection to the violent soccer hooligan scene.

Malta allows migrants off rescue ship after five days
[Al Jazeera] Maltese authorities have finally allowed 58 migrants colonists off the Aquarius to Valletta after they waited for days in rough seas on the rescue ship that can no longer go to port after its flag was pulled.

The migrants colonists, including Libyans, sub-Saharan Africans and Afghans, boarded two buses at a Malta Armed Forces base in Valletta on Sunday after being transferred from the Aquarius to a Maltese patrol boat in international waters.

"All migrants colonists who disembarked in Malta will be transferred to four other European countries in the coming days," the Government of Malta said in a statement.

The migrants colonists include a five-month pregnant woman and Bella the dog, the first animal rescued with migrants colonists in the Mediterranean and they are to be sent on to four European countries after a tense standoff over their fate last week.

Five dead as migrant boat capsizes off Turkey
[DAWN] Five people died after a boat carrying illegal migrants colonists capsized off The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
's northwestern coast on Sunday, state media reported.

The Ottoman Turkish coastguard found the bodies after the rubber vessel sank off the Enez district in Edirne province, Anadolu news agency said.

Fearing the numbers on board could be higher, the coastguard continued search and rescue efforts, the agency added.

The cause of the incident was not yet known but a Mediterranean storm is battering Greece and brought heavy rain and wind to Turkey's Aegean cities.

The agency did not give details of the migrants colonists' nationalities however Turkey hosts over three million Syrian refugees and up to 300,000 Iraqis.

It is also one of the transit countries used by those fleeing war and poverty to try and reach Europe.

The flow of refugees into Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
has slowed since the influx hit a peak in 2015 when over a million people landed in Greece from Turkey, the majority via boats.

India-Pakistan
Indian troops fire shots at Pakistani helicopter in Kashmir
[Al Jazeera] Leader of the Pakistain-administered Kashmire region has accused Indian troops of shooting at his helicopter while it was flying close to the highly militarised Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border dividing the region.

The incident happened in Havaily district in Poonch sector in the India-administered Kashmire when Raja Farooq Haider Khan, prime minister of the Azad (Independent) Kashmire region, was on his way to a nearby village to give condolences to the family of a local politician who had died.

"My helicopter had not even committed any violation and was flying well within our side of the LoC when Indian troops opened fire," Raja Farooq Haider Khan, prime minister of the Azad (Independent) Kashmire region, said in a statement from Pakistain's capital Islamabad on Sunday.

"The Indian army fired to show that Pakistain had violated their airspace," Khan's statement said.

Primary school blown up in Chitral
[DAWN] A primary school for boys in a village in Chitral was blown up early on Sunday morning, police officials said.

District Police Officer (DPO) Furqan Bilal confirmed the attack on the primary school in Arandu Gol village situated near the Pak-Afghan border, saying it appeared that an improvised bomb was used to destroy the only primary school in the area.

A police party escaped another IED blast in the area, the police official said. A second IED had been planted along the road near the school and went off minutes after coppers passed by the spot, the DPO added.

Police have started an investigation into the incident. When questioned about the suspected identities of the perpetrators, the DPO said, "At the moment, I not in a position to comment about the attackers."

He speculated that gunnies from across the border may have involved in the incident.

Adviser on Education to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ziaullah Bangash condemned the incident. Last month, over a dozen schools ─ most of them for girls ─ were burnt down in Gilgit-Baltistan's Diamer district.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran fires missiles against 'terrorist' camp in Syria: statement
[Daily Mail] Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Monday they had launched a missile attack against a "terrorist" headquarters in Syria in retaliation for a September attack on the Iranian city of Ahvaz.

"The headquarters of those responsible for the terrorist crime in Ahvaz was attacked a few minutes ago east of the Euphrates by several ballistic missiles fired by the aerospace branch of the Guardians of the Revolution," the Guards said on their official website.

"Based on preliminary reports, many takfiri terrorists and the leaders responsible for the terrorist crime in Ahvaz have been killed or wounded in this missile attack," the Guards added.

The term "takfiri", derived from the Arabic word for anathema, is used by the Iranian authorities to refer to Sunni jihadists.

The Guards did not say where the missiles were launched from.

According to Iran's Fars news agency, the Guards fired Zolfaghar and Qiam missiles, with a range of 750 kilometres and 800 kilometres (465 and 500 miles), respectively.

On September 22, 24 people were shot dead in an attack at a military parade in Ahvaz in southwest Iran. The Islamic State group, which Iran and its Damascus allies are fighting in Syria, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
