[The Hill] The "deep state" is in a deep state of desperation. With little time left before the Justice Department inspector general’s report becomes public, and with special counsel Robert Mueller having failed to bring down Donald Trump after a year of trying, they know a reckoning is coming.
At this point, there is little doubt that the highest echelons of the FBI and the Justice Department broke their own rules to end the Hillary Clinton "matter," but we can expect the inspector general to document what was done or, more pointedly, not done. It is hard to see how a year-long investigation of this won’t come down hard on former FBI Director James Comey and perhaps even former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who definitely wasn’t playing mahjong in a secret "no aides allowed" meeting with former President Clinton on a Phoenix airport tarmac.
With this report on the way and congressional investigators beginning to zero in on the lack of hard, verified evidence for starting the Trump probe, current and former intelligence and Justice Department officials are dumping everything they can think of to save their reputations.

A story the other day of a mother, in the midst of an ugly divorce, grabbed her child and jumped off a multistory building, killing both. I suspect the entrenched power mongers and lusters, the progressive-apparatchik complex, are doing the same thing with the last vestiges of the old republic.
[Fox via Right Scoop] Well Trump demanded it today, and Rosenstein followed the command.
From Fox News:
The Justice Department asked its watchdog to look into any alleged "impropriety or political motivation" in the FBI’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, the DOJ said Sunday night ‐ hours after President Trump ordered a review looking into whether federal agents infiltrated or surveilled his campaign for political purposes.

To do: Find a bunch of swamprats to do the investigation, grant everyone immunity, question a few behind closed doors, forget to write down softball questions and answers, declare "matter" closed.

He's expanded the IG Horowitz's purview, which probably already included this aspect

They will turn the IG on this and it will not go well for some folks. CNN was reporting that Rosenstein would resign before ordering the probe.... Love the truthful CNN.

Trump just got his pick to lead the CIA approved. Largest threat to US democracy is the FBI (hint, hint).

That was a release statement for anyone thinking of saving their skin in the mess. Anyone in the belly of this coup who steps forward publicly with a mea culpa and a list of names and actions has a reasonable expectation of a 'get out of jail' card. The prisoner's dilemma.
[Breitbart] House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said if the reports of a potential FBI informant in the 2016 presidential campaign of President Donald Trump were true that is an "absolute red line."
Nunes said, "If any of that is true, if they ran a spy ring or informant ring and paying people within the Trump campaign ‐ if any of that is true, that is an absolute red line."
He continued, "If they paid someone, it’s an absolute red line, and this is over with. I don’t know how to say this. There is no possible way that we should be allowing ‐ even if it was legal, we should never allow this in this country. Congress should not allow for anything like this to ever occur again to any political campaign if it in fact happened. This is why I’ll say again all they have to do is provide us documentation."
He added, "What I’m saying when I say it’s over is this whole thing is a scam. There is real abuse here."

He was a part-time Klingon source (also known as a stringer). A computer forensic expert working for Net Assessments, and able to line dancing in circles. A truly remarkable man.

OTOH, if the CIA, FBI, and State Department were accepting subcontracting fees from (for instance) the Clinton Graft Initiative or Soros' group to give an official cover of some sort to foreign espionage efforts, it should also be seen as bad. IMHO.
Additional confirmation of the existence of the Shadow Government.
[Gateway Pundit] Former CIA Director-turned-Twitter troll, John Brennan lashed out at Trump on Sunday evening after the President ordered the DOJ to investigate the FBI’s infiltration of his campaign.
Brennan also fired a warning shot to House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, claiming they will ’bear the majority of the responsibility of the harm done to our democracy’ if they don’t stop Trump.
As previously reported by TGP’s Kristinn Taylor, President Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon he is ordering the Justice Department to investigate whether the Obama administration spied on his 2016 presidential campaign.
The order comes on the heels of leaks to the New York Times and Washington Post that the Obama administration had an "informant" make several approaches to three Trump campaign officials, included one that involved an offer of cash and another an offer to "advise" the campaign.
Trump tweeted: "I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes ‐ and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!" the president tweeted.

The funny thing is that Trump was willing to just let things slide when he took office. It was their insistence to follow the fake 'Russian Collusion' (which they knew damn well was a setup) that is about to bring all this crashing down. They are about to shoot themselves in the back of head.

I think it was something the Deepstate thought to use to punish Trump for running against their candidate and when he won, they upgraded it to try and control him.

It would have been so much better for Brennan if his tweet had been: "We in the intelligence community welcome an inquiry into our actions. We have done nothing wrong. Let the light shine in."
Instead Brennan is saying: "By Allah! Don't look in that room! You just can't! Disaster would ensure!" That's the stupidest message he could possibly have put out.
Lawyers spend tons of (billable) time reviewing documents for production, and I have never heard one say, "This document is so good for our case that we need to make sure the judge and jury never see it."

The 911 report concluded that GIVERnment agencies failed to cooperate with each other. It appears the IRS, DOJ, FBI, CIA, DNC... exceeded cooperation expectations under the Obama administration with regards to Trump.
[Breitbart] President Donald J. Trump announced his decision to demand an official investigation of former President Barack Obama’s administration on Sunday for infiltrating or surveilling his presidential campaign for political reasons.
"I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes ‐ and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!" Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
Trump frequently blames investigations of his campaign on Obama, suggesting that politically motivated investigators were unfairly targeting his campaign.
He spent most of Sunday morning sharing his thoughts on Twitter about the ongoing Russia investigation, suggesting that the ongoing "witch hunt" was out of control. "Things are really getting ridiculous," Trump wrote, noting that so far there was no collusion found by special investigators.
He criticized Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team as "13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats" who were part of the Obama administration.
"STOP!" he wrote. "They have found no collusion with Russia, No obstruction."
She's the most corrupt U.S. politician since LBJ and they're kissing her ass with these utter garbage accolades & awards. Pass the barf bags...
[Zero Hedge] - Hillary Clinton, who paid for an opposition research dossier which was used by the Obama administration to justify surveiling her political opponent, Donald Trump, and later to smear him as the sitting President, will receive Harvard's prestigious Radcliffe Medal on Friday for having a "transformative impact on society," according to the Ivy League university.
Clinton will receive the award as part of the school's graduation-week activities, because she's a "champion for human rights," and a "skilled legislator," as well as an "advocate for American leadership" on the world stage.
Former Secretary of State and 2001 Radcliffe Medalist Madeline Albright will give Clinton a personal tribute, while Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey will join Hillary in a keynote conversation at the Friday affair.

You have to admit, she was instrumental in pi$$ing off so many conservative voters that they actually got off their collective a$$ and voted for a change.
[Jerusalem Post] Three months before the 2016 presidential election, an Israeli social media specialist joined a Gulf Arab emissary and a former Middle East security contractor for a meeting with Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., to discuss ways they could help the Republican nominee beat his opponent.
The existence of the meeting in Trump Tower in New York City, first revealed on Saturday by The New York Times, has prompted US special counsel Robert Mueller to send investigators to Israel to probe the activities of the Israeli social media firm, which allegedly employed former Israeli intelligence officers and collects user data to help manipulate public opinion. The Israel Police is cooperating with the probe, the Times found.
Now he's getting serious ("if you don't blame it on the Jews, you're not serious" - An old Russian saying).

At least two of the figures – Israeli specialist Joel Zamel and the Gulf emissary George Nader – visited or worked with the Russians during the campaign.
So now Mueller is investigating foreigners who had contacts with Russians ?
[OANN] President Trump announced his decision to nominate Robert Wilke for the position of Secretary of Veterans Affairs early Friday morning during a public event. The announcement caught Wilke by surprise with the President saying, "He doesn’t know this yet, but I’m going to be informing him."
The announcement comes one day after Wilke, who is the current acting secretary for the department, joined Sarah Sanders in the briefing room to accept a donation of the President’s first quarter salary to the Veterans Affairs Department. Wilke has been serving as interim secretary since March when the President fired former Secretary David Shulkin amidst weeks of controversy concerning his travel and other behavior.
Wilke’s nomination follows on the heels of another controversy in which the administration’s former nominee, Dr. Ronny Jackson, withdrew his nomination after Senator John Tester (D-MT) made unverified allegations concerning the former presidential physician. An ugly confirmation situation immediately ensued prompting Dr. Jackson’s decision to leave the process.
Wilke’s current position is not without controversy as some groups blasted the President for appointing Wilke as interim secretary for bypassing Deputy Secretary Thomas Bowman. The statue that allows the President to appoint an acting secretary does not provide for guidance in the case of "firing" creating ambiguity.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... Wilke will now begin the process towards Senate confirmation. The current acting secretary has a strong history having first been appointed to the Pentagon by Bush 43 in 2006 and confirmed by the Senate as Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness in November 2017.
Politifact is keeping track of President Trump’s quarterly salary donations here.
