[Breitbart] Sunday on CNN’s "State of the Union," Broward County, FL Sheriff Scott Israel fielded questions from show host Jake Tapper about his department’s actions leading up to and during the Parkland school shooting.
Israel said he had provided "amazing leadership" as the head of that agency.
Partial transcript as follows:
TAPPER: Are you really not taking any responsibility for the multiple red flags that were brought to the attention of the Broward Sheriff’s office about this shooter before this incident, whether it was people near him, close to him calling the police?
ISRAEL: I can only take responsibility for what I knew about. I exercised my due diligence. I’ve given amazing leadership to this agency.
TAPPER: Amazing leadership?
More from the talkative sheriff at 10:40 a.m. from Skidmark:
[DailyCaller] “As I said, I’m the Sheriff, my name’s on the door,” Israel said. “The people responsible are the ones who took the calls and didn’t follow up on them, as it was with the FBI, as it was with any person.”
“Leaders are responsible for the agency, but leaders are not responsible for a person,” Israel told the station. “I gave him a gun. I gave him a badge. I gave him the training. If he didn’t have the heart to go in, that’s not my responsibility.”
Sheriff Israel, who was reelected in 2016 as a Democrat with 72 percent of the vote, earlier in the day admitted he knew about his officer’s failure to act during the massacre during a CNN town hall where he blamed the National Rifle Association for the killings.

He was on Hillary's Florida election team. When pushed about her being responsible for the death of Stevens at Benghazi Hillary said, "What difference does it make?" Trying to figure out these people is pointless. Just get rid of them.

So, given an object example of the dictum that "the police can't protect you," the anti-gun crowd doubles down and says "that just proves our point!" And we are supposed to have a "conversation" with that camp. Riiiiiiight...

If he says it often enough perhaps people might have believed it if the evidence of failure wasn't so complete.
[REUTERS] A Florida sheriff came under mounting criticism on Sunday for his deputies’ response to this month’s deadly high school shooting and potential warning signs as dozens of state politicians called for his ouster and the governor ordered an independent inquiry.
Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel insisted that only one of his armed deputies is so far known to have been at fault for staying outside the school while it was under attack rather than entering to confront the gunman who shot 17 people to death.
That deputy, identified as the school’s assigned resource officer, Scot Petersen, has resigned rather than face suspension and possible dismissal after his actions were caught on video during the massacre, the sheriff acknowledged last week.
News outlets including CNN and NBC have since reported that at least three more armed Broward County sheriff’s deputies were present on the scene, taking cover behind their vehicles instead of immediately going into the school.

Every "involved" government employee of each agency that failed, no matter what agency, should be fired and NO PENSION AND MADE INELIGIBLE FOR FUTURE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT.
Was there a single agency at any level that did their job?

According to Sundance, the failures of Broward County Sheriff Department were not caused by incompetence but by a concerted plan to reduce racial imbalance and reported incidence of crime by high school students in the county by not reporting many crimes including felonies and not arresting students for committing them.
That is why Mr. Cruz had no criminal record, and why a large number of reports about his behavior were ignored by the Sheriff's office.
This disgraceful behavior by the Sheriff's department earned the Broward School system praise and financial rewards from the Obama administration and the state of Florida for its supposed prowess in reducing crime by its high school students, and equalizing crime rates among racial groups.
My question is: was the FBI aware of this, and did its failure to react to reports stem from its cooperation with this scandalous behavior by the Broward Sheriff's department?

The Congressional district is run politically by Debbie Wasserman Waste of a Hyphen.
Does anyone need any more Blues Clues from the dog about where this comes from?

I can believe that one guy failed but four is beginning to smell a little fishy.

Possibly there are many [now] shredded memos directing first responders to secure the scene and wait for the special teams.
[ConservativeTreehouse] There are so many threads of information surrounding the 2016 operation to conduct political surveillance on the Trump campaign by various officials and offices within corrupt structures of government it’s easy to get lost. However, if we take all the various bits of information and placing them together a more clear picture emerges.
The {Go Deep Threads} look like this: The FISA-702(17) ’About Queries’; the political opposition research of Fusion-GPS and Glenn Simpson; the DOJ officials and FBI officials; Bruce and Nellie Ohr; the U.S. State Department and U.N Ambassador Samantha Power; the Clinton-Steele Dossier and Christopher Steele; the FISA Title-1 surveillance warrant; and the unmasking by former Senior White House officials: Lisa Monaco and Susan Rice.
Here’s the basic overview of how all those threads come together to paint a picture.
The FBI group was participating in a plan to exonerate Hillary Clinton. That same FBI group was simultaneously conducting opposition research on candidate Donald Trump and the larger construct of his campaign team. Those FBI officials were allied by entities outside official government structures. The ’outside group’ were "contractors". It is likely one of the contractors was Fusion-GPS or entities in contact with Fusion-GPS. {Go Deep}
The contractors were using FBI intelligence databases to conduct opposition research "searches" on Trump campaign officials. This is where the use of FISA-702(16)(17) "To/From" and "About" queries comes in. {Go Deep} This FISA abuse was the allowed but unofficial process identified in early 2016 by NSA internal auditors.
This is where NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers steps in on April 18th, 2016, and stops the FBI contractors from having any further access. {Go Deep}

Appears other collection venues may have then been obtained, and the monitoring continued.
Admiral Rogers throws flag, visits Trump Towers on 17 Nov 2016 (7 months after he terminated unauthorized access). Trump moves his campaign team to his Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ almost immediately.
What follows is a huge outcry from the Deep State for Obama to fire Admiral Rogers for visiting Trump Towers. Obama does not act.
As has been said before. It would appear Admiral Rogers is the hero in all of this.
[FoxNews] The California Democratic Party will not endorse Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s re-election bid this year, with delegates at the party’s annual convention giving the majority of votes to her top primary challenger, progressive State Sen. Kevin de Leon.
De Leon got 54 percent of the vote, compared to 37 percent for the more moderate Feinstein, according to results released Sunday. But neither Democrat will receive the state party endorsement because they failed to reach the 60 percent threshold.
The vote totals were not a surprise, considering the state party’s liberal leaning.
And Feinstein leads de Leon by 29 percentage points in the primary race, according to the most recent RealClearPolitics polls average.
Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate at 84, is seeking a sixth term.

I'm not sure Feinstein won't end up with the nomination again. Hillary/DNC aced-out Bernie Sanders for the nomination. Many on the left, think Bernie really won the nomination since the Dem primaries were rigged bigly for Hildobeest.

Just because they didn't endorse her doesn't mean she's going anywhere. It's the size of her war chest that matters most and I don't think any challengers will be able to match it.

[Jpost] Judge Ronit Pozansky-Katz stepped down from the "Bezeq-media case" on Sunday after she was caught exchanging text messages with Israel Securities Authority attorney Eran Shaham- Shavit about detention proceedings.
The latest twist in the investigation ‐ for which two of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aides have been in police custody for the past week ‐ was first reported by Channel 10 news. That was followed by an announcement from Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Supreme Court Justice Esther Hayut saying they would refer Pozansky-Katz, the pre-trial judge in what is known as Case 4000, for potential disciplinary action.
Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit also ordered a disciplinary probe of Shaham- Shavit on Sunday, who will be suspended pending completion of the probe against him. Photographs of the texting between Pozansky-Katz and Shaham- Shavit appeared to show them planning how many days of detention various suspects in Case 4000 would get. There was no comment by press time from the Securities Authority. Are you watching Mr Sessions?
[SF Chronicle] The relationship between U.S. immigration officials and California’s liberal leaders soured long ago, but Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s decision to warn potential targets of federal arrest that an immigration sweep could be imminent was an extraordinary escalation.
Schaaf said she issued the alert Saturday night after receiving confidential tips from "credible sources" who revealed that U.S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement, known as ICE, was planning arrests across the Bay Area as soon as Sunday.
he and Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick discussed the reports before Schaaf concluded the information was solid enough to go public, according to people familiar with her thinking. Schaaf said she also conferred with "legal counsel" to make sure she wasn’t opening herself up to federal prosecution.
The news release that resulted ‐ which Schaaf said was intended "not to panic our residents but to protect them" ‐ was among the most assertive maneuvers by a local politician to counter the Trump administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants. The message: Not only will Oakland and its police force not cooperate with ICE, but the city will actively seek to thwart efforts to detain and deport immigrants.

the country has accepted the ideas that our borders are not open, that the welfare state here is not without financial limits and that in perilous times such as today, immigration is largely and legally in the hands of the president, whether one has voted for him or not. Judge Andrew Napolitano
Is POTUS, under Article II, not charged with enforcing the laws of the land, including immigration laws enacted by Congress? If so, wouldn't this Mayor be in violation of the law and in jeopardy of prosecution?

Regarding the President and Immigration law, the Supremes just punted their decision on Dreamers until next year or so. That seemed clear cut to me so I'm a bit confused.
