The statement further added that the Taliban group leadership council members are all based on the other side of the Durand Line and in key cities of Pakistain.

[AlAhram] A Cairo criminal court issued a preliminary death sentence on Tuesday against four people convicted of forming a terrorist cell in Giza in a 2014 case.
The court, which has set a 19 February session to issue its final verdict, has referred the sentence to the Grand Mufti, the country’s top religious authority, whose opinion is legally required in death penalty cases but is not binding.

U.S. crude oil production is expected to climb to more than 10 million barrels per day (bpd) early in 2018, reaching that milestone for the first time since 1970, and to continue to surge into 2019 to a record high, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said Tuesday.
Production was expected to hit 10.04 million bpd during the first quarter of this year, the agency said in a monthly report. The 10 million-bpd milestone previously had not been expected to be reached until the fourth quarter.
The EIA revised its production growth forecast for 2018 sharply higher to 970,000 bpd from 780,000 bpd in its previous outlook.
U.S. output will be at an all-time high in 2019, surpassing 11 million bpd by the end of that year, a new high for national output, the EIA said in the report. The average production in 2019 will rise 580,000 bpd to 10.85 million bpd, the agency said in its first outlook for next year. Better than nuking Mecca

Theoretically, our production exceeds our consumption and so we are a net exporter...right now we are ahead of KSA as the largest exporter of oil in the world...and we keep driving down oil prices as we get better at wringing oil out of those shale and tar sand deposits. Hence, the mass purge of dilettantes in the KSA royalty as they are having trouble meeting their budget goals with current oil prices.

Well, a lot of that growth took place under Obama.
Riiiiight. Even Mitt called him on that fib. The growth took place in spite of Obama.
Thank you free enterprise. Well, relatively free enterprise.

[IsraelTimes] Iranian ambassador reprimanded after Revolutionary Guard agent convicted and sentenced for targeting pro-Israel official
The German government has protested to the Iranian ambassador in the country following the conviction of an Iranian agent for spying on targets including a former German politician who headed a German-Israeli friendship group.
The Pak man was convicted in Berlin last year of espionage and sentenced to more than four years in prison. His targets included Reinhold Robbe, who headed the German-Israeli Association, and a French-Israeli economics professor.
Iranian Ambassador Ali Majedi was summoned to the Foreign Ministry just before Christmas. After German media reported on the meeting, the ministry said Tuesday he was told that "spying on people and institutions with a particular relationship to the State of Israel on German soil is a blatant violation of German law."
The ambassador was told that such activities would not be tolerated.
In March 2017, 31-year-old Mustufa Haidar Syed-Naqfi was sentenced to four years and three months in prison "for working for a foreign intelligence service."
German media reported during the trial that local security agencies believe Robbe was being eyed by Tehran as a possible liquidation target in retaliation for an Israeli operation against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The court found he spied "against Germany and another NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... member," La Belle France, for the al-Quds Force, the foreign operations wing of the elite Revolutionary Guards.
Syed-Naqfi compiled dossiers on possible attack targets with ties to Israel. Investigators found detailed files on the men and their daily routines, with hundreds of photos and video clips.
The court heard they detailed the targets’ homes and work places, various access routes to them, as well as information on security guards, surveillance cameras and nearby cop shoppes.
The service suspected the al-Quds Force was preparing for a possible future conflict with the United States and Israel, when it would hit targets in Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... in a form of "asymmetrical warfare."
The Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... -born Syed-Naqfi came to Germany as a student in 2012 and most recently lived in the western city of Bremen.
The defendant traveled to Iran at least twice, in October 2015 and February 2016, and received at least 2,052 euros ($2,237) for his intelligence activities.
He was jugged ... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not... in July 2016, but declined to testify during the trial ‐ "out of fear," according to his lawyer.

[Ynet] Germany's highest court on Tuesday halted the deportation of a Ottoman Turkish citizen convicted of supporting an Islamist Death Eater organization, saying authorities should first ensure he wouldn't face torture or inhumane prison conditions in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... The Federal Constitutional Court overturned a ruling by a lower court that ordered the deportation of the man, who was born and raised in Germany, after he was convicted of travelling to Syria and supporting a "terrorist organization."
Nearly a thousand people are believed to have left Germany to fight with Islamist Death Eaters. Some are now returning as the jihadist group's presence in the Middle East crumbles.
An appetizer:
[GatestoneInstitute] Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada has an nine-year long record of supporting the Islamist cause while refusing to engage with reformist Muslims.
Perhaps most disturbing were Trudeau's comments to a gathering of Islamist front groups: he told them that he shared their beliefs, their set of values and their shared vision.
Canada will not be able to plead ignorance or inability while facing accusations of complicity from any future American terrorist victims.

I'm pretty sure 90% of Canada's problems would be solved if Quebec had to go it alone. Why the rest of Canada puts up with it is beyond me. Trudeau is just another liberal idiot.

[Office of the Inspector General - Homeland Security] A new report by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) finds that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues to face significant challenges with its screening of aliens who may have ties to terrorism. Auditors warn ICE may have missed opportunities to identify, apprehend, and adjudicate the status of aliens posing the highest risk to public safety and national security.
The report, "ICE Faces Challenges to Screen Aliens Who May Be Known or Suspected Terrorists (REDACTED)," concluded that ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) faces significant limitations in implementing its Known or Suspected Terrorist Encounter Protocol (KSTEP). ICE established KSTEP to streamline the screening protocol of all aliens and to coordinate and exchange information with other law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Despite its implementation, the agency’s KSTEP policy fails to require continued screening of the majority of nearly 2.4 million aliens no longer in ICE custody but under ICE supervision. Continues.

If ICE were subject to the intelligence community 'coordination' process, perhaps their "missed opportunities" were..... baked in.
[DAWN] China on Tuesday rejected the speculations that it was planning to establish a military base in Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... 's Gwadar district, NDTV reported.
In June 2017, a Pentagon report had singled out Pakistain as a possible location for a future Chinese military base. The prediction came in a 97-page annual report to Congress that read: "China most likely will seek to establish additional military bases in countries with which it has a longstanding friendly relationship and similar strategic interests, such as Pakistain." China had categorically denied the report at the time.

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave with relics of tortured women was found in west of Mosul city, Nineveh, a police source was quoted saying on Monday.
“Relics of 20 women were found inside a mass grave while removing debris in western Mosul,” Col. Omar al-Hajjar told DPA.
The victims, according to Hajjar, “were executed by Islamic State as they were trying to escape toward the eastern side of the city during the liberation offensives last year.”
“Security troops recovered all the bodies along with their identity cards. They were transferred to forensic medicine department in Mosul to extradite them to their relatives,” he added.
Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of Islamic State Sunni extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria.
Last week, MP Farah al-Siraj said 4,000 bodies are still under the debris in the Old City of Mosul.
Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Nineveh provincial council has denied finishing 50 percent of the rehabilitation works in the western side of Mosul, saying that reconstruction had not started yet, but just removal of the rubble.
In remarks on Tuesday, Mohamed Ibrahim, member of the council, said, “talks about reconstructing 50 percent the western flank of the city are totally untrue.”
“Only 40 percent of electricity distribution and water networks are rehabilitated in western Mosul, in addition to opening of some schools,” he added. “The reconstruction works have not started yet, but only removal of debris.”
Ibrahim noted that “the reconstruction of Mosul requires a lot of money as well as long time.”
On Monday, Federal Police Chief Lt. Gen. Shaker Jawdat said police forces finished 50 percent of their works to rehabilitate war-scarred areas of western Mosul. Refugees have been repatriated from camps to their living areas in addition to reopening of schools and bridges.
