[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A series of Arclight airstrikes have been carried out on ISIS targets including a training camp of the terror group in eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province of Afghanistan, leaving several bandidosturbans dead.
The provincial government media office in a statement said Thursday at least six ISIS bandidosturbans were killed in an airstrike conducted in Gorgori area of Haka Mina district during the counter-terrorism operations by the ground forces.
Teh statement further added that airstrikes were also carried out on ISIS training camp in Esta Karan and Gorgori areas, leaving ten ISIS bandidosturbans as they were receiving training.
According to the governor’s office, airstrikes were also carried out on two ISIS compounds in Shabe area of the district, leaving at least five bandidosturbans dead.
The security forces and the local residents did not suffer any casualties during the airstrikes which were carried out in the past 48 hours, the statement added.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The security officials in Kabul put the casualties toll in Kabul suicide kaboom at 13 dead and 18 maimed, including civilians and police personnel.
The deputy spokesperson for the ministry of interior Nasrat Rahimi told news hounds in Kabul today that 13 coppersbit the dust in the attack.
He said at least 16 coppers and 2 civilians were also maimed after a jacket wallah detonated his explosives among the police personnel and civilians.
The head of the Criminal Investigation Department Salim Ehsas said the security forces have closed 24 shops selling drugs in the area.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... he said the security forces fierce resistance from certain residents of the area during the operations.
This comes as the local residents and eyewitnesses in the area had earlier said that the suicide attack took place at the end of a demonstration in the area.
The blast took place late on Thursday night in Bani Esar area of the city located in the 9th police district of the city.
Security sources in the area had earlier said that 20 people have been killed and more than 20 others have sustained injuries in the attack.

In the aftermath of the kaboom, the Djibouti troops carried out an operation that saw the arrest of several Somali soldiers in connection with the incident.

[RADIOSHABELLE] The United States government has designated the deputy leader of the Somalia-based al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... myrmidon group a "global terrorist."
A State Department statement says the designation of Abukar Ali Adan blocks any assets of his that are subject to US jurisdiction and prohibits US citizens from making any transactions with him.
The al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab is the deadliest Islamic myrmidon group in Africa. It has been blamed for the October truck bombing in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, that killed 512 people.
Little is publicly known about the reclusive Ali Adan. The US has designated al-Shabaab as a foreign terrorist organization, and the Trump administration early last year approved expanded military efforts against the group. More than 30 US dronezaps were carried out against al-Shabaab last year.

[Libya Observer] An gang from Zintan loyal to the commander of the Western Military Zone of Presidential Council, Osama Jwaili, launched a surprise attack on Abu Kammash Chemical Complex, western Libya, on Friday in a bid to take control of the complex and Ras Ajdir border crossing with Tunisia.
The gang attacked the complex at around 4am causing some damage to Abu Kammash cop shoppe and its vehicles before being repelled by forces from Zuwara.
The residential area of Abu Kammash was evacuated for safety reasons. Ras Ajdir border was also closed.
The Amazigh Supreme Council deplored the attack, warning that "such actions could lead to an ethnic war."
On Thursday, Osama Jwaili revealed that his forces are going to launch "an anti-crime operation" in west Libya.

Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... rebels, locked in a war against Yemen's Saudi-backed government, said they had fired a missile at the kingdom's southwestern province of Najran in a statement tweeted by their al-Masirah television channel.
Saudi air defences intercepted the ballistic missile over Najran, according to the kingdom's state-owned Al Ekhbariya news channel.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Twelve people were killed and wounded in two bomb blasts in north and west of Baghdad, security sources were quoted saying.
“A bomb, placed near a popular market in Sabaa al-Bour region in al-Taji district, north of Baghdad, exploded,” a source told Baghdad Today on Friday.
“The blast left a civilian killed and six others wounded,” the source, who preferred anonymity, added. “Ambulances transferred the wounded to hospital for treatment, while the victim was taken to the forensic medicine department.”
In related news, another bomb blast occurred in west of Baghdad leaving five people wounded.
“A bomb went off near a market in al-Radwaniya region, west of Baghdad,” another source added.
“The blast left five people wounded,” the source, who asked to remain anonymous, said.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Defense Ministry has announced arresting the Islamic State member in charge of the militant group’s media in Baghdad.
In a statement on Friday, the ministry said the intelligence department and Baghdad security troops managed to arrest the group’s media official in the so-called Diyala State.
Translation problem? Normally it is described as Diyala province, I believe.
“The militant was at one of the houses in Aadhamiya region, north of Baghdad,” it added.
That appears to be a neighbourhood of Baghdad...

The United States administration froze a $125 million grant to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the UN’s agency for "Palestinian refugees", which was supposed to be delivered on January 1, Channel 10 News reported on Friday, citing three Western diplomats.
The amount frozen is one-third of the annual funding the United States provides the organization, according to the report.
The three diplomats, who asked to remain anonymous because of the political sensitivity of the issue, told Channel 10 the grant had been frozen until the end of the reexamination of U.S. aid to the Palestinians, which began in recent days. According to pro-opposition activists, ISIS managed to capture the town of Huwaysis ibn Hadib after a short battle with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham on Friday.
In addition to capturing Huwaysis ibn Hadib, ISIS now controls the towns of Rasm al-Hamam, al-Wabid al-Qebli, Mwalah Abu Hadib, Abu Ajwa, Anbaz, Mwalih Swarna Abu Haya, Rasm al-Ahmar, Abu Hilal, Abu Hariq, Abu al-Kusor, Ma’asran, al-Athshan, Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. [ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels recently sent a large number of reinforcements to the Idlib Governorate to help build their defenses around the strategic Abu Dhuhour Military Airport in the eastern part of the province, a Syrian military source told al-Masdar News on Friday.
According to the military source, jihadist rebels from Harakat Ahrar al-Sham ...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014... , Harakat Nouriddeen al-Zinki, and several other factions have moved to the southern and eastern parts of Idlib to help defend the province, despite their tiffs with the al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group.
The source added that foreign jihadists from Turkestan and Uzbekistan moved from Jisr al-Shughour, the al-Ghaab Plain, and northeast Latakia to aid in this battle against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
In the coming weeks, the battle for Idlib will likely intensify as the Syrian Arab Army pushes further north from the Hama axis towards the Abu Dhuhour Military Airport.
