camp where murderous Moslems were regrouping to launch attacks on Gedo region area," Osman said in a statement issued in Mogadishu. "Some 81 forces of Evil were killed, a number of vehicles and heavy weapons destroyed."

He later told Xinhua that the security forces destroyed materials used for making explosives such as TNT, RDX, potassium and sodium nitrate.

The latest strikes took place hours after Somali and U.S. special forces conducted a dronezap in Lower Shabelle region on Friday evening.

Sources said at least 13 al-Shabaab fighters were killed by the drone attack in Basra village, near Bal’ad district, in Lower Shabelle region. The U.S. military did not disclose the number of those killed in the attack.

LNA finally takes Benghazi’s Sidi Akribesh after 4-month siege
[Libya Herald] The Libyan National Army (LNA) today claimed complete control of Sidi Akribesh the final redoubt of Benghazi forces of Evil who had resisted attacks for more than four months.

An airforce war plane flew above the district to salute the triumphant soldiers. But it has been a hard-won victory. After the LNA’s initial attacks were beaten back in August, Saiqa Special Forces
...Libya's elite army unit, insofar as they have one, formed from a mixture of paratroopers and commandos. The group emerged from a militia with the same name in 2010. It now numbers a few thousand and reports to the Ministry of Defence. It deployed in Benghazi in an attempt to control the carnage. As a result, it has been attacked and several of its officers murdered. The force is popular in Benghazi for its stance against Ansar al-Sharia group...
, seen as the army’s most effective unit, were brought in to finish the siege, just as they were deployed in Ganfouda to bring an end to the resistance of forces of Evil in the 12 Apartments complex.

In neither case did the operation prove as swift and effective as expected. It took two months before the Ganfouda forces of Evil were finally overcome.

The initial plan in Sidi Akribesh was to starved out the defenders, whose snipers took a regular toll of the investing forces. A number of forces of Evil was killed and captured trying to escape the siege. Air strikes, which had been part of the earlier advance through Suq al-Hout and Sabri were suspended, a military source said because the surrounded area was too small to be targeted accurately. Nevertheless, this week there was at least one further raid by a warplane.

At the same time, Saiqa Special Forces commander Wanis Bukhamada took a direct hand in the operations. Tanks were brought up to blast away murderous Moslem strong points. Three soldiers were killed and four maimed on Thursday along with two murderous Moslems.

It is unclear how many casualties there were in the final hours of the operation nor how many forces of Evil were killed or captured. There was a report in the summer that leading Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
figure Wissam Ben Hamid was trapped in the enclave.

Hafter reacts swiftly to Gaem challenge: takes over Benghazi interior ministry, moves on Berses
[Libya Herald] In a swift reaction to last night’s challenge from Government of National Accord (GNA) deputy interior minister Faraj al-Gaem, Khalifa Hafter has this morning taken over the interior ministry building in Benghazi.

LNA units have also surrounded Berses, a predominantly Awagir area 60 kilometres to the east of Benghazi on the road to Marj, among whose fellow rustics Gaem is reported to have taken refuge.

An officer in the LNA’s 106 Brigade, Lieutenant Mutaz Madi is said to have been killed in fighting at Berses. Two other LNA soldiers have been injured, possibly in the takeover of the interior ministry building in Budzira.

It was a mortar attack yesterday afternoon on that same building which appears to have triggered Gaem’s ’phone call to 218 TV in which he demanded that Hafter should cede control of the armed forces to Saiqa Special Forces

Gaem gives Hafter 48 hours to quit Benghazi and hand over to Bukhamada
[Libya Herald] Government of National Accord (GNA) deputy interior minister Faraj al-Gaem tonight said armed forces commander-in-chief Khalifa Hafter should be replaced by Saiqa Special Forces
...Libya's elite army unit, insofar as they have one, formed from a mixture of paratroopers and commandos. The group emerged from a militia with the same name in 2010. commander Wanis Bukhamada and quit Benghazi.

Earlier today two of Gaem’s guards were killed and five were maimed when four mortar bombs hit the interior ministry building in Benghazi’s Budzira district. Gaem himself was not hurt. Five days ago he had survived a car kaboom on his convoy as it drove through the Sid Khalifa district.

In a ’phone call this evening to TV station Libya 218 Gaem said that Hafter had tried to assassinate him. He gave Hafter and his sons 48 hours to leave Benghazi and hand over his command to Bukhamada. Posts and footage also emerged this afternoon on social media, apparently from members of Gaem’s Awagir tribe, threatening to attack Hafter and his relatives.

A Saiqa Special Forces front man, Miloud Azawi, said after the broadcast that Saiqa would not be involved in the dispute.

Benghazi military governor Major-General Abdul Razzak al-Nazhuri is expected to make a statement shortly.

“Army jets targeted a hideout for IS in central Rawa, Anbar, which killed the group’s mufti, known as abul Muhajir, an Arab, along with two of his companions,” the source said.

“Abul Muhajir is a prominent IS leader, who is in charge of running the group’s affairs in Rawa,” the source added. “The shelling also destroyed several vehicles destroyed.”

Iraqi joint forces have freed an Islamic State bastion of al-Rummana and areas in its vicinity in west of Anbar, the state-run TV reported earlier on the day. This came after Upper Euphrates and Jazeera Combing Operations launched a wide-scale offensive to liberate al-Rummana and Rawa regions.

Hussein al-Okaidi, mayor of Rawa, said earlier this week that the number of remaining Islamic State militants is estimated at no more than twenty members.

Iraqi forces advance on ISIL-held Rawa in Anbar

[Al Jazeera] Iraqi forces have launched an offensive to capture one of the last remaining areas under ISIS control in the country.

Two Iraqi infantry divisions and Sunni tribal forces are carrying out the operation in Anbar province.

It is believed ISIS fighters are holding 10,000 civilians hostage in the town of Rawa.

of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS, also known as ISIS), on Saturday in an operation to retake Rawa, the operation's commander said.

Troops backed by paramilitaries recruited among the region's Sunni Arab tribes "launched a major offensive to liberate Rumana and the Rawa area", General Abdelamir Yarallah said.

He later said they had "retaken Rumana and its bridge on the Euphrates" along with 10 other villages.

Rumana is on the north side of the Euphrates just across from al-Qaim, while Rawa, a small town, lies downstream.

IDF missile defense system shoots down drone near Syrian border
[IsraelTimes] Army concludes aircraft downed above Golan Heights belonged to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

's regime

The Israel Defense Forces’ Patriot missile defense system shot down a drone above the Golan Heights Saturday after the unmanned aircraft approached the Israeli border from Syria.

Israeli security officials said the drone’s operators had deliberately attempted to fly the aircraft across the Israeli border, Channel 10 reported.

The IDF later concluded that the aircraft belonged to Syrian President Bashir al-Assad’s regime. It did not enter Israeli territory.

Last month, the IDF fired into Syria, hitting three rocket launchers, in response to earlier rocket fire, and warned that further fire would prompt a more intensive response.

Earlier that month, the Syrian army launched an interceptor missile at Israeli Air Force reconnaissance aircraft, which the IDF says were flying over Leb. In response, Israel sent out a second sortie of F-16 fighter jets to bomb an anti-aircraft battery that it believed launched the missile.
An Nahar adds that the Israelis said it was a Russian-made drone.

Three Vietnamese sailors rescued from Abu Sayyaf
[CNC] Philippine security forces rescued three Vietnamese sailors from the hands of the Abu Sayyaf in an audacious raid near Languyan town in Tawi-Tawi Friday. A fourth Vietnamese man was found dead in the kidnap group’s lair, apparently succumbing from an illness.

The four were part of a 17-member crew of a fishing vessel which the Abu Sayyaf seized last February 25 off the waters of Sulu. Two of the 17 were killed by the militants while ten were rescued by the Philippines in an earlier dragnet.

The Abu Sayyaf still holds at least 16 more hostages, including seven foreigners.

Six Philippine troops killed in Basilan battle
[Inquirer] At least six troops were killed and four others were injured in what the military described as a clash between Philippine soldiers and the Abu Sayyaf in Basilan province. The Moro Islamic Liberation Front, however, said what took place in Sumisip town on Wednesday was a “misencounter” between soldiers and MILF militants.

Task force commander Juvymax Uy said soldiers conducted a strike against Abu Sayyaf rebels led by Siar Alhamsirol and Parong Tedi in Upper Cabengbeng village on Wednesday afternoon. He said the gun battle lasted for four hours because the militants were “reinforced by lawless elements."

“As they edged toward the [provincial] circumferential road, operating troops were met with heavy fire by lawless elements believed to be relatives and sympathizers of the Abu Sayyaf bandits,” Uy said.

He said the military launched air support for the ground troops, who killed or wounded an undetermined number of rebels.

But Mohagher Iqbal, MILF peace panel chair, said no Abu Sayyaf militants were involved in the clash. He said MILF rebels in Sumisip were alarmed when soldiers arrived in their area “without any coordination.”

He said, "We suffered one dead and one injury."

Uy did not identify the six soldiers killed during Wednesday’s clash, which he insisted involved the Abu Sayyaf.
Why won't the Philippine military give the MILFs their due?

Two rebels slain, one arrested in southern Thailand
[Bangkok Post] Two rebels were gunned down and another wanted insurgent arrested in Pattani province on Wednesday morning. A joint police and military team surrounded a house in Sai Buri district after the house was identified as an militant hideout. The house owner was contacted and told them two men from Narathiwat's Tak Bai district were in the house.

The village chief and head of the local mosque were called to assist and asked the two men to step outside and surrender, but there was no response. Rifle shots were fired from the house at the security team about 6:30am. The two sides exchanged gunfire for half an hour, and then the house fell silent.

The security team went inside and found two dead men. They were identified as Gadafi Tamasae and Aliya Dahamae, who was wanted on an arrest warrant issued under emergency decree for planting bombs and shooting at rangers in Sai Buri district.

Another man identified as Mahamasamri Tamae was also arrested. Officials said he is a wanted insurgent named in an arrest warrant issued under emergency decree and in 15 warrants under the Crimes Act.

ISIS counterattacks Syrian government forces in al-Boukamal
[RUDAW.NET] After a large counterattack, forces loyal to the Baathist regime of Bashir al-Assad are continuing to clash with ISIS gunnies for control of al-Boukamal on Saturday.

"IS has almost completely retaken control of al-Boukamal, pushing pro-regime forces to its southern and eastern edges," reported the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Saturday.

The Syrian army had announced "the liberation" of al-Boukamal on Thursday after previous reports of ISIS withdrawing.

ISIS began ambushing the area on Thursday night, quickly retaking several districts in the northern region of al-Boukamal from pro-government fighters.

"It was ISIS's biggest ambush operation, tricking the attacking forces into thinking they had controlled the city," added SOHR.

Al-Boukamal is in eastern Syria on the border near Iraq's al-Qaim.

The area of al-Boukamal had been encircled by both the Syrian and Iraqi armies between al-Baajat in Syria and al-Aakashat in Iraq before they took control of the town on Thursday after several weeks of fighting.

After ISIS suffered a series of defeats in Deir ez-Zor, including the loss of their de facto capital of Raqqa, al-Boukamal was the last Syrian city the myrmidon group controlled.

US Defense Secretary James Mattis has described the Middle Euphrates River Valley as "ISIS's last stand."

The US-led global coalition to defeat ISIS is backing the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Baghuz, just 10 kilometers from al-Boukamal on the other side of the Euphrates.

Approximately 120,000 people have been displaced from al-Boukamal alone in recent weeks said Linda Tom from the United Nations

' humanitarian affairs office in Damascus.

Also on Saturday, Iraqi forces and allied militia launched an assault against the Euphrates valley town of Rawa in western Anbar, the last ISIS pocket in Iraq.

The Iraqi army, Iran-backed Hashd al-Shaabi, and Sunni tribal forces liberated al-Qaim on the Iraqi side of the border on November 3.

Artillery fire, Russian airstrikes on displacement camps kill at least 26 in Syria
[DAWN] At least 26 civilians have died in artillery fire and Russian air strikes on two displacement camps and surrounding villages in eastern Syria, a monitor said on Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said nine children were among those killed. The villages and displacement camps were full of people who had fled fighting in the town of Albu Kamal.

(IS) group two days ago, but murderous Moslems mounted a fierce fightback and recaptured it on Saturday.

Rami Abdel Rahman, who heads the Britannia-based Observatory, said artillery fire by pro-regime forces and air strikes by Russian warplanes were pummelling remaining IS-controlled areas in eastern Syria.

"Fifteen civilians including seven children died in a displacement camp near al-Sukkariyah, west of Albu Kamal, in bombing since Friday night," said Abdel Rahman.

Another 11 civilians, including two children, had died in the bombardment on a string of villages and a second displacement camp about 50 kilometres northwest of Albu Kamal, he told AFP.

At least 400 dead found in graves in Kirkuk

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Several mass graves of hundreds of civilians executed by Islamic State were found in an old U.S.base, west of Kirkuk, an official said on Saturday.

“We are now standing at al-Bakara base, that was once a headquarter for U.S. troops before being a site for IS to carry out executions,” Rakan Saeed, acting governor of Kirkuk, said in press remarks. “It’s the brutality of terrorists who executed no less than 400 victims, some of whom in red suits while others in civilian clothes.”

Saeed urged the Iraqi government and United Nations to check the mass graves and identify the victims.

In October, Iraqi troops ran into a mass grave, composed of relics of 50 army and police personnel in Hawija, southwestern Kirkuk. Paramilitary troops announced, earlier the month, running into ten mass graves containing relics of security personnel and civilians who were executed by IS.
