A Bowling Green man was arrested Friday and charged with fourth-degree assault after an incident at the Bowling Green home of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.
Rene Boucher, 59, is in the Warren County Regional Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond, according to online jail records available Saturday afternoon.
Paul suffered minor injuries, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green.
Paul told police the suspect tackled him from behind & forced him to the ground. Sen. Paul is also a currently licensed MD in Kentucky. The suspect, Rene A. Boucher, D.O. is listed as an "inactive physician", "retired" with KY license having expired 2/28/2015. Other sources indicate Boucher's specialty had been anesthesiologist / pain management.
Kentucky State Board of Election voting records list Boucher as a registered Democrat. A person with the same name also works as an anesthesiologist in Bowling Green.
A Facebook account that appears to be maintained by Boucher contains numerous anti-Donald Trump postings.
17 in one night, Tuesday early morning in Monrovia.
[MonroviaNow] Authorities are investigating whether a string of 46 smash-and-grab burglaries across Southern California are linked, including 16 that took place at small businesses in the San Gabriel Valley early Thursday morning.
Six such incidents were reported overnight across San Dimas, another six in Azusa, four in Monrovia and one in Glendora, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and local police. Two burglaries are Duarte were no longer believed to be linked, authorities later said.
Most the locations were small restaurants and food spots, though two liquor stores and a beauty supply shop were also hit.
Stores in Azusa seemed to be struck first, with a robbery first being reported at 1:25 a.m. and a front window or door broken at each location, said Cpl. Cherie Miller with the Azusa Police Department.
Investigators had not yet determined what time other burglaries occurred, but Miller said Louie's Liquor on Foothill Boulevard, Tasty BBQ Kitchen and Super Liquor on Citrus Avenue and Pieology and Chinese Taste on Alosta Avenue were all targeted.

Our local area is facing a lot of off hour break ins of hair salons, which makes zero sense, as explained by my wifes hair cutter, since the hair cutters are mostly independent contractors who pocket whatever cash they have accumulated at the end of every shift, while the credit card transactions are direct deposited to their operating accounts.
Whatever is broken to gain entrance is usually more costly to replace than anything that is taken.

The San Gabriel Vally - all the crime, crowding and smog of Los Angeles with none of the glamour.

Curious. Maybe something other than money was the point. What would be in a hair salon you couldn't get elsewhere? Concentrated hydrogen peroxide comes to mind. A common ingredient in unstable, homemade explosives.
With 2 from Vox, now 8 members of leftist elite media are fingered for sexual advances
Vox’s unnamed employee and Lockhart Steel, along with NBC’s Mark Halperin, NPR’s Michael Oreskes, Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi, the New Republic’s Hamilton Fish and Leon Wieseltier, and Mother Jones’s David Corn, now add up to eight members of the elite media accused of everything from indifference to harassment to groping.
Juliana Margulies' encounter with Weinstein and Steven Segal
Actress Julianna Margulies said in an interview Friday that in two separate instances, disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and actor Steven Seagal attempted to lure her to their hotel rooms early in her acting career.
The Sins of Leon Wieseltier
Leon’s modest fame was just ample enough for a lengthy story about his atrocious behavior to appear in the New York Times. His villainous behavior was suddenly all over the Internet. Leon made his apology, thereby owning up to the truth of the accusations against him, but the apology, though it seemed little more than perfunctory, did include the nice Leonic moral touch near the end, where he assured everyone that he “will not waste this reckoning.” At least he had the decency not to claim that he was going into therapy.
A Round of Applause for Kevin Spacey
It’s preposterous, and everyone knows it, when a leftist says “black people can’t be racist.” But not until the Spacey affair did we have such a persuasive case against identity politics outside of race. Put him in the chair, as far as I’m concerned. But let’s not forget what a blow this is to the identitarians of the Left.
Alex Baldwin didn't do enough to stop sexual assaults
McGowan accepted $100,000 from Weinstein in 1997 after an alleged encounter in hotel room. It was part of an agreement that the case would not be prosecuted further but was not an admission of guilt on Weinstein's part, according to The New York Times which viewed a legal document detailing the agreement.
NYPD sez it has credible rape allegations against Weinstein
The New York City Police Department now has a credible rape allegation against Hollywood filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, who may soon be arrested, The Associated Press reported Friday.
The Left Is Just Full Of Miserable People
You wouldn’t think people who’ve succeeded in life would be so miserable. Money may not buy happiness, but it shouldn’t lease misery either. Yet so many successful people are really, deep down, just miserable, sad human beings.
Film director Brett Ratner sues his accuser
Director Brett Ratner has filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman who claimed in a Facebook post that he had raped her some 12 years ago, documents filed in federal court in Hawaii showed.
Another accusation against Kevin Spacey
I was unable to process what was happening: My dad and I were pretending to be lovers in a play while Kevin Spacey was trying to seduce me and all the while in real life I was a hapless, straight virgin who just wanted to become a famous actor.
After 12 years it's a little late for his accuser to gain anything from her little Facebook post. There will be no DNA or any other evidence that could possibly be admitted in court. The statute of limitations has most likely already passed. The police say that anyone who is raped should present themselves to an emergency room before even taking a shower so that evidence can be gathered. After 12 years that's no longer an option. If I was on Rattner's jury I just might vote in his favor even if he is guilty. Not all of these victims who are coming out of the woodwork are credible.

This from the comments in a fawning article about the event in SF Chronicle:
Subject: TURD...... LATEST FROM MENTAL HEALTH OFFICIALS
Do You Know Someone Suffering From Trump Unacceptance & Resistance Disorder (TURD)?
Know the signs, spot the symptoms, and save a life.
TURD is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time.
Sufferers of TURD often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, rioting, and uncontrollable crying.
People with TURD are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again.
TURD Is caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America.
Research is ongoing, but TURD appears to correlate closely with the following environmental and behavioral factors:
· Membership in the Democratic Party
· Identifying as a Feminist
· Currently enrolled in college, and/or Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree
· Living in a densely populated metropolitan area
· Massive student debt
· Spotty or non-existent work history
Patients with TURD are very resistant to treatment, and dangerous in large groups. Any possibility of treatment requires that they be separated from their hive-mind support apparatus; they cannot begin the process of accepting reality in the presence of encouragement towards delusion and irrationality. Separation may require the assistance of law enforcement.
If you have a friend or loved one suffering from TURD, urge them to seek treatment. Together we can beat this scourge, and Make America Great Again.

Story in the Seattle news featured many 'close up' photos - seldom showing that there was only about 70 protesters (and I'll bet more than half of them were journalists there to report on the 'massive uprising').
Epic Fail.
As someone commented "There were bigger turnouts at the DMV."

Mind you, IMO, the serious ones are seriously studying terror tactics.
The fascists (antifascists) are most closely linked to the far left. The serious ones are like Bill Ayres and his ilk; they are basically domestic terrorists.

Maybe this was a trail balloon. See what kind of response the other side would put up. Or maybe they are shouting 'wolf' a few times to take people of their guard.

I sort of like them getting real time feedback on how out-of-the-mainstream their point of view is. Not that they are actually getting the message.
Let's don't get too complacent. The Brown Shirts were out-of-the-mainstream too but still very dangerous.

Who plans a protest the weekend the new Call of Duty drops? They were all playing the game and mom probably forgot to remind them.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Four former students of Tariq Ramadan -three of whom have claimed to have slept with him when he was married - have come forward with new information regarding the renowned Islamist intellectual figure.
The details were included within a new shocking article which has been recently published about the period of time when Tariq Ramadan was teaching in Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... during his youth.
Familiar face
Apparently and according to witnesses, Tariq Ramadan has been abusing women for a long time, way before the recent rape cases in La Belle France and before he became the famous controversial Islamologist.
The 55-year-old Ramadan has taught for several years in his hometown Geneva, where he had nothing but good memories.
But the newspaper The Tribune de Genève has now discovered that he unsuccessfully tried to seduce one of his 14-year-old students.
The investigation states that he even got his way with three others, aged between 15 and 18 years.
These incidents go back to the 80s and 90s, when the professor of French and Philosophy worked at the Cycle of Coudriers and then at the College de Saussure, according to the newspaper.

[IsraelTimes] As The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... becomes ever more Ottoman, to President Erdogan's delight.
Legislation signed by Erdogan allows 'muftis' to perform and register weddings; critics say it will also exacerbate problem with child marriages.
President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him... has signed into law controversial legislation to let state-approved holy mans conduct marriage ceremonies, a move critics claim risks undermining Turkey’s secular foundations.
The government-championed measure, passed by parliament last month in the face of bitter opposition, was published Friday in the Official Gazette following Erdogan’s signature Thursday, which means it has now come into force.
The law allows "muftis" to perform and register marriages, as well as state-appointed civil servants.
Muftis are holy mans employed by Turkey’s state religious affairs agency Diyanet with the task of taking care of worship across the country.
Turkey is an overwhelmingly Moslem nation but an official secular state under its constitution as set up by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Ottoman Turkish Republic, in 1923.
"The AKP has taken another step that harms the state’s secular pillars and that moves people away from secularism," Sezgin Tanrikulu, an MP with the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) which was founded by Ataturk, told AFP.
Until now, the law has stipulated that even religiously observant couples must be married by a state registrar from the local municipality, not a holy man.
Critics also claim the new law will open the way for unregistered marriages, and will breach Turkey’s civil code.
The government however says a marriage conducted by a mufti is a civil marriage, arguing that the bill is actually regulating secular life, not religious life.
But Tanrikulu said the law was "not an actual need" and expressed fear that citizens would feel under pressure to have a religious marriage as this would go down in records that could be examined by future employers.
"The seeds of such a discriminatory practice are being sown today," he said.
Tanrikulu expressed concern in particular that the change will exacerbate an already existing problem in the country with child marriage.
According to UN children’s agency UNICEF Turkey has one of the highest rates of child marriage in Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... with a rate of 15 percent of women married by 18.
"The new law will open the way for child marriages," he said.
But the law has been a priority for the government and in October, Erdogan told the opposition that the law would pass "whether you like it or not."
Erdogan and the Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP) has been repeatedly accused by critics of eroding the secular pillars of modern Turkey.
Erdogan’s governments have notably eased restrictions on wearing the Islamic headscarf in education, politics, the police and most recently the army.
The government rejects the criticsm, arguing it allows freedom of worship for all Ottoman Turkish citizens and the lifting of headscarf bans merely brought Turkey into line with the rules in many Western, non-majority Moslem, nations.
Some European countries, notably Britannia, recognize religious marriages but in other EU members like La Belle France and the Netherlands couples must first marry in a civil ceremony.

A new paper in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy by Bisschop, Kastoryano, and van der Klaauw looks at the opening and closing of prostitution zones (tippelzones) in 25 Dutch cities.
Our empirical results show that opening a tippelzone reduces sexual abuse and rape. These results are mainly driven by a 30‐40 percent reduction in the first two years after opening the tippelzone. For tippelzones with a licensing system, we additionally find long-term decreases in sexual assaults and a 25 percent decrease in drug-related crime, which persists in the medium to long run.
Cunningham and Shah studied decriminalization of indoor prostitution in Rhode Island and found very similar results.
We exploit the fact that a Rhode Island District Court judge unexpectedly decriminalized indoor prostitution in 2003 to provide the first causal estimates of the impact of decriminalization on the composition of the sex market, rape offenses, and sexually transmitted infection outcomes. Not surprisingly, we find that decriminalization increased the size of the indoor market. However, we also find that decriminalization caused both forcible rape offenses and gonorrhea incidence to decline for the overall population. Our synthetic control model finds 824 fewer reported rape offenses (31 percent decrease) and 1,035 fewer cases of female gonorrhea (39 percent decrease) from 2004 to 2009.
[Express.co.UK] DONALD Trump’s government has announced around 300,000 refugees living in the country can be deported over the next few months.
The US State Department said that Central Americans and Haitians granted temporary status, some who have lived in the country for 20 years, could now be sent to their home countries.
They had originally been given Temporary Protected Status because their nations had been deemed unstable due to armed conflict and natural disasters.
But the Washington Post reported that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has ruled those conditions no longer apply.
The Department of Homeland Security now has until Monday to announce its plans for about 57,000 Hondurans and 2,500 Nicaraguans whose protections are due to expire.
A large number fled to the US illegally in 1998 as Hurricane Mitch battered Central America and have had their status renewed ever since.
Under the changes, the refugees could be arrested and sported once their protections expire.
So far, the Department of Homeland Security has refused to say what action will be taken.
A decision on the other 240,000 refugees who have the status will be made by January.
Many of them have homes, businesses and children who were born in America.
According to the paper, Donald Trump’s administration has stressed the programme was never meant to allow permanent residency in America.
An official said: "It is fair to say that this administration is interpreting the law, exactly as it is, which the previous one did not.
"It is very clear what needs to be done."
Mr Trump campaigned for the presidency last year on a promise to deport large numbers of immigrants.
Last month, people close to the administration said the White House was considering anti-immigration activists' appeals to pull back on the programme.
And this week, following the truck terror attack in New York that killed eight people, the President urged Congress to end the Diversity Immigrant Visa program under which suspect Sayfullo Saipov entered the United States in 2010.
The diversity program, signed into law in 1990 by President George Bush, was designed to provide more permanent resident visas to people from countries with low US immigration rates.
