[BBC] Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has said he will not forgive and forget attempts to arrest him over rape allegations which led him to seek asylum in Ecuador's London embassy.
Hailing an "important victory", he said he was prepared for dialogue with the US and UK authorities. Mr Assange, 45, is wanted in the US over the leaking of military and diplomatic documents.
Sweden said on Friday it had decided to drop its rape investigation. Meanwhile Ecuador urged the UK to allow him safe passage out of the country. The Wikileaks founder has chosen to remain in the embassy as he fears extradition to Sweden would lead to extradition to the US.

O pardoned Manning. However, that was a stiff middle finger into the eye of the military who never were gracious enough to go along with supining to his social reorganization.

...Sadly, the authorities in question aren't the ones who were in authority when this whole mess started. Hope Julie likes Ecuadorian food; he's still going to be eating it for a while.

The rape accusation was a complete joke. He had consensual sex and then the woman changed her mind.
Also what he did wasn't illegal in the country he did it so America is barking up the wrong tree if it extradites.
[SCMP] An Indian woman cut off a man’s penis after he allegedly tried to rape her at her house in the southern state of Kerala, police said on Saturday. "Aaaiiieee! I am unmanned!"
The 23-year-old law student was at her residence in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram late on Friday when she says she was attacked by the 54-year-old man, who had claimed to her family to be a religious guru. "Hello! I am a renowned holy man!"
"Well, step right in!"
"Hrarrr! C'mere, Cutie Pie!"
"She used a knife in her defence and cut off his penis," district police chief G Sparjan Kumar said by phone. "The man, Hari Swami, was rushed to the nearby government hospital in a serious state." Other than being dead, there isn't a state much more serious than having you crank sliced off.
The local media reported that Swami was in a stable condition after undergoing emergency medical procedures at the local hospital. "Uh... What happened to me?"
"I got good news and bad news, Swami. The good news is that you ain't got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever."
"What's the bad news?"
The woman claimed the man had been assaulting her for several years, according to Kumar, who said police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Swami for sexual offences against a minor and rape. "How about this one, chief? 'Section 432, assault with a dead weapon?'"
Police said the girl’s parents, who live at the same house, were unaware of the assaults by Swami.

"Look Mom! I just did the first Indian sex change operation! Lets call Swami Caitlyn!"
[NYT] Roger E. Ailes, who shaped the images that helped elect three Republican presidents and then became a dominant, often-intimidating force in American conservative politics at the helm of Fox News until he was forced out last year in a sexual harassment scandal, died on Thursday morning. He was 77.
The cause was complications of a subdural hematoma that Mr. Ailes sustained when he fell and struck his head on May 10 at his home in Palm Beach, Fla., the local authorities said.
"Fair and balanced" was Mr. Ailes’s defining phrase for Fox News, along with another slogan: "We report. You decide." Though routinely mocked by liberal critics, who regarded the network as decidedly unfair and imbalanced, those words amounted to an article of faith for Mr. Ailes, who created Fox News with Rupert Murdoch’s money and guided it for two decades.
[Daily Caller] Fox News fired Bob Beckel -- again -- because "The Five" cohost made a racially insensitive remark to a coworker.
"Bob Beckel was terminated today for making an insensitive remark to an African-American employee," a statement from Fox News said.
Beckel first joined Fox News in 2000 and was one of the original hosts of "The Five." He parted ways with the network in 2015 while recovering from a back injury.
"We tried to work with Bob for months, but we couldn’t hold ’The Five’ hostage to one man’s personal issues," Bill Shine said at the time. "He took tremendous advantage of our generosity, empathy and goodwill and we simply came to the end of the road with him."
[Iran Press TV] Britannia's opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Conservative Party of fueling a "war between generations" by pitching young people against the old.
In a speech in Birmingham on Saturday, Corbyn urged Prime Minister Theresa May to cancel the "anti-pensioner package" offered in the Conservative manifesto, which has caused divisions even among her own party members.
"Where the Tories look to divide, Labour seeks to bring people together," Corbyn said. "The Tories are now trying to pitch the young against the old."
"Their manifesto is a typical nasty party attempt to set generations against each other," he stated.
"For pensioners, they offer a triple-whammy of misery, ending the triple lock which protects pensioner incomes, means testing the winter fuel allowance and slapping a ’dementia tax’ on those who need social care by making them pay for it with their homes," he added.

The giant gantry crane used to build the USS Ronald Reagan is one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere. Situated in Northrop Grumman’s Newport News shipbuilding yard, the crane can carry ship sections weighing up to 900 tons. Soon, it will be able to carry 1050 tons, the equivalent of 579 Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
[DAWN] An Indian woman facing litigation over her controversial marriage to a Pak man submitted her reply before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday and claimed that her alleged husband’s petition was a "bundle of lies".
Uzma Ahmed filed her reply to a petition filed by her husband Tahir Ali Khan.
In her reply, Ms Ahmed explained that Mr Khan had "terribly beaten [her]... tortured [her] physically and mentally and forced [her] to sign the nikahnama".
Her counsel Shahnawaz Noon stated that Mr Khan was not a law-abiding citizen. He said that Ms Ahmed never asked Mr Khan to come over to India and get married nor had she "agreed to [the] proposal of the petitioner".
The counsel alleged that Ms Ahmed was given death threats, harassed and humiliated by Mr Khan and "forced to sign the nikahnama".
He said that Ms Ahmed had been given shelter and security by the High Commission of India till she returned home safely. He also denied that the high commission had pressurised Ms Ahmed in any way.
The alleged husband, however, requested the court to arrange a meeting with his wife in a "free atmosphere" claiming that Ms Ahmed was giving statements against him under duress.
On May 3, Ms Ahmed informed the magistrate that she had been deceived, tortured and forced to sign marriage documents at gunpoint. She said that she had taken refuge at the high commission because she wanted to go back to New Delhi.

[DAWN] Two students groups at Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) clashed on Saturday, at least leaving 35 students injured, said officials.
Police, called in by the university administration, resorted to teargas shelling and baton charge to disperse the enraged students.
However, the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits... police personnel failed to bring the situation under control, prompting the authorities to involve Rangers personnel.
Injured students were rushed to Poly Clinic Hospital. Around 25 injured students were allowed to go back after treatment, said the administration.
The university administration has announced to keep the institution closed for the upcoming week. Hostels in the campus are also being got vacated.

Not just Baltimore. A friend's daughter in Atlanta wants to move from a charter school to an inner-city school because the benefits are better. Must have hazardous duty pay or something.

Math and English is not required to excel at your University Socialist Indoctrination Camps anymore. That would conflict undocumented non-English speaking entitlement dreamer Dem voters speaking safe spaces from Ice Retainers.

NW, I've worked with a number of people with rather dicey English skills (to be fair, my Chinese is infinitely worse than their English), but if they don't have the math chops they don't get in the door.
Some places in the University haven't succumbed yet.

Ebonics issues go beyond English. I recently had a co-worker get all upset because the boss said "90 seconds" in a meeting regarding a corporate directive, and she jumped up and down swearing it was 1.5 minutes, not 90 seconds. "X(her name) don't do no math", she said, after it was explained to her. Yeah, refers to herself in the 3rd person, just to make it more interesting. It's not a culture that will take over the world anytime soon, but they have won a few cities!
