[HOSTED.AP.ORG] Texas election officials have acknowledged that hundreds of people were allowed to bypass the state's toughest-in-the-nation voter ID law and improperly cast ballots in the November presidential election by signing a sworn statement instead of showing a photo ID.
If the Democrats were smart they wouldn't be challenging Trump on his "millions of illegal votes" meme. In fact, they'd go along quietly with a gentle correction or two of the voting laws (and then figure out how to subvert the corrections). As it is, their strident insistence that Trump is making all this up is simply causing people to look long and hard. And we now have a DoJ that will take voter fraud seriously. The Democrats may rue the day they mocked the Donald over this...
The chief election officers in two of the state's largest counties are now considering whether to refer cases to local prosecutors for potential perjury charges or violations of election law. Officials in many other areas say they will simply let the mistakes go, citing widespread confusion among poll workers and voters.
The Texas law requires voters to show one of seven approved forms of identification to cast ballots. It was softened in August to allow people without a driver's license or other photo ID to sign an affidavit declaring that they have an impediment to obtaining required identification.
Even after the affidavits were introduced, voters who possess an acceptable photo ID were still required to show it at the polls.
The revelations come as President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... makes frequent claims that the nation's voting systems are vulnerable to fraud. The president has repeatedly said, without citing any evidence, that he would have won the popular vote if not for 3 million to 5 million immigrants colonists in the country illegally who voted for his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook... An News Agency that Dare Not be Named analysis of roughly 13,500 affidavits submitted in Texas' largest counties found at least 500 instances in which voters were allowed to get around the law by signing an affidavit and never showing a photo ID, despite indicating that they possessed one.
Others used the sworn declarations to lodge protest statements against the law.
One affidavit from Hidalgo County, along the Texas-Mexico border, read: "Did not want to 'pander' to government requirement." In Tarrant County, an election judge noted on an affidavit: "Had photo ID but refused to show it."
"If we see that somebody blatantly says 'I have ID' and refused to show it, we're going to turn that over to the D.A.," said Stephen Vickers, chief deputy elections administrator for Tarrant County, which includes Fort Worth. "If they tried to use the affidavit to get around the system, yeah, I see that as a violation."
The disclosures came as top Texas Republicans cheered the case of a Mexican national who was sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal voting. Rosa Maria Ortega was convicted earlier this month on two felony counts of illegal voting over allegations she improperly cast a ballot five times between 2005 and 2014 in Tarrant County. Her attorney has said Ortega was a permanent U.S. resident who mistakenly thought she was eligible to vote.

Provisional ballots, P2K, and Texas has them. Those that said they had ID, but chose not to show it, should have been provisional ballots - held in abeyance until they can be verified.

[FREEBEACON] A former State Department IT technician who set up Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook... 's private email server in her home may face criminal charges for avoiding multiple subpoenas to testify on Clinton's email server.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter on Thursday to Attorney General Jeff Session asking that Bryan Pagliano be charged for ignoring multiple subpoenas requesting that he testify before the Oversight Committee.
Pagliano was responsible for managing Clinton's private server and also served as a senior adviser to the former secretary of state.
"Because Pagliano's job functions included supporting mobile computing issues across the department, he was uniquely positioned to answer questions regarding State Department policies and practices for preserving records, as well as the technological procedures utilized to do so," Chaffetz wrote.
The Republican from Utah noted that Pagliano's testimony would have allowed the Oversight Committee to more fully do its job investigating Clinton's private server.
"There is no legal basis for Pagliano's refusal to appear before the committee," Chaffetz said. "In light of Pagliano's contumacious conduct in refusing to testify, the department should bring the matter before a grand jury for its action or file an information charging Pagliano with violating 2 U.S.C. § 192."
Violation of 2 U.S.C. § 192, which allows Congress to subpoeana witnesses, could result in a fine between $100 and $1,000 and a prison sentence of one month to one year, according to the New York Post.
Pagliano, who worked on Clinton's failed 2008 presidential campaign, refused to appear twice before the oversight panel, invoking his Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate himself. The Republican-controlled Oversight Committee voted in September to hold him in contempt of Congress.

I would think there are a number of Dept of State, Dept of Justice, Dept of Treasury officials who know about malfeasance during the Obama years and were too afraid to testify back then but who would be able to do so today. Takes some effort to dig into this and Trump doesn't have full staff yet.

Please hide pics like this behind a click-thru with a very stern 'Not Safe For Your Eyes and Sanity' warning! As they say 'the goggles do nothing!'.
And yes - the Democratic Party does love its Child Molesters.

That picture triggered me and now I'll have to retreat to my safe space, which in this case is bottle of vodka, in the vain hope I can drink enough to make that image leave my brain.
[An Nahar] U.S. President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... should come clean and back moves to "kick Russia's ass" for its alleged meddling in last year's U.S. election, senior Republican Senator Lindsey Graham ... the endangered South Carolina RINO... said on Sunday.
Trump has been embroiled in questions over his ties with Russia and this week his national security adviser Michael Flynn was forced to resign over contacts with Moscow's ambassador in Washington.
The president has repeatedly said he wants to improve relations with Russia but Graham said Trump should be much more focused on hitting back at Russia over its alleged hacking of the Democratic Party's network to discredit candidate Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, sometimes described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as a crook... in his favor.
"My goal is to put it on Trump's desk and I hope he'll embrace the idea that as the leader of the free world he should be working with us to punish Russia," Lindsey told a Munich Security Conference panel.
"2017 is going to be a year of kicking Russia in the ass in Congress," he said.
Graham said the president needed to be completely open. "My biggest concern with President Trump ... is that he's never really looked the camera in the eye."
The president should do that and say: "'Even though it was the Democratic Party that suffered from Russian interference, I am now the leader of the free world and I can assure you they're going to pay a price on my watch for trying to interfere in our election,'" Graham said.

Why would we not join with russia to wipe these Islamotards from the face of the earth
here is Islamic State, funded by Saudi, Qatar and UAE.
Sunni Islamists invading syria. Supported by Hillary and Obama, John Brennan
here they train their kids and film them cutting the heads off adult prisoners, shooting them
a three-year-old given a loaded gun to shoot a prisoner then shouting allahu akhbar. he is three.

IMO, anon1, it's not so much Islam --- I expect the "Power of Islam" to disappear once anti-fracking regulations are removed --- as the fact that Trump sees Russia as a natural ally against the growing power and belligerence of China.
As to John and Lindsey (who is a man - male anyway), I'm not sure what motivates them. Possibly they believe that Trump voters can be incited by anti-Russian rhetorics (after all it was true in their youth when Russia was Soviet Union). Or, they receive funds from China (look up who funded Demosthenes' Philippics)

Right on #2. China and Dems and their assorted crackpots are the ones to watch. Dems think they can tag along with China but China only thinks for their own interests. Dems are useful idiots.

I watched one of my Cold War favorites last evening. Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies(Francis Gary Powers incident). In discussions on it, an old friend and Russian military expert remarked:
"I actually miss the Cold War compared to today’s Islamic threat. We face an unholy enemy alliance now – the Islamic right and the Western left. They work together because they have the same enemies: Western civilization, Christianity, and the United States of America. Notice all the tears the left sheds over the plight of Muslims here and how they want to increase Muslim immigration."
If you've never watched Bridge of Spies, don't expect validation of intelligence community ethics or handiwork. They had no luck in 'turning' Rudolf Abel (Рудольф Иванович Абель), brilliantly played by Sir David Mark Rylance Waters. Little wonder so many remain skeptical of the Bergdahl exchange, or the long-running events at GITMO.
Occasionally, Hollywood gets it right.
Leaving you with a memorable movie quote:
James Donovan: You have been charged with three counts and nineteen overt acts. Conspiracy to transmit United States defence and atomic secrets to the Soviet Union, conspiracy to gather secrets, and failing to register as a foreign agent. Rudolf Abel: Do many foreign agents register?

I live in SC and would like to be rid of Graham. He faced fairly weak and divided primary opposition in 2014 and so won the Republican nomination. Which is tantamount to election here. But he should definitely watch out for Nikki Haley or Mick Mulvaney in 2020.

U.S. President Donald Trump should come clean and back moves to "kick Russia's ass" for its alleged meddling in last year's U.S. election, senior Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
Lindsey the Bellicose seems eager to go to war. In that way, he and McCain are much like Hillary. Graham and McCain come across as bitter losers who got their feathers ruffled and feelings hurt. Trump's voters did not sign on for a war with Russia. We have been in about 20 years of war with the Islamicists and it has cost us a lot in money and lives. Trump wants to finish off ISIS and get on with building the economy and strengthening the country. He seems to have a lot of push back to this endeavor.
There has not been any proof provided that Russia meddled with our election or that people on Trump's team were busy meeting clandestinely with Russian officials in violation of the law--so far it has been all accusations and no proof. Show us the proof or STFU.
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Sunday warned against taking seriously comments his Senate colleague John Maverick McCain ... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump... of Arizona made on Saturday, in which the Arizona politician compared President Trump's actions toward the press to "how dictators get started."
"The thing is, I don't agree with his analysis and applying that to the president," Paul told Jon Karl, guest host of ABC's "This Week." "Everything that [McCain] says about the president is colored by his own personal dispute he's got running with President Trump and it should be taken with a grain of salt, because John McCain's the guy that's advocated for war everywhere. He would bankrupt the nation."
Paul, known for his noninterventionist foreign policy, also expressed relief that the 2008 Republican presidential nominee did not have a chance to act on his views as a commander in chief.
"And actually, we're very lucky John McCain's not in charge because I think we would be in perpetual war," Paul said.

It's McCain's shtick. It (among other things) gets him re-elected.
[NYPOST] An Obama-tied activist group training tens of thousands of agitators to protest President Trump’s policies plans to hit Republican politicians supporting those policies even harder this week, when they return home for the congressional recess and hold town hall meetings and other functions.
Organizing for Action, a group founded by Obama and featured prominently on his new post-presidency website, is distributing a training manual to anti-Trump activists that advises them to bully GOP politicians into backing off support for repealing ObamaCare, curbing immigration from high-risk Islamic nations, and building a border wall.
In a new Facebook post, OFA calls on activists to mobilize against Republicans from now until Feb. 26, when "representatives are going to be in their home districts."
The protesters disrupted town halls earlier this month, including one held in Utah by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz, who was confronted by hundreds of angry demonstrators claiming to be his constituents.
The manual, published with OFA partner "Indivisible," advises protesters to go into halls quietly so as not to raise alarms, and "grab seats at the front of the room but do not all sit together." Rather, spread out in pairs to make it seem like the whole room opposes the Republican host’s positions. "This will help reinforce the impression of broad consensus." It also urges them to ask "hostile" questions -- while keeping "a firm hold on the mic" -- and loudly boo the the GOP politician if he isn’t "giving you real answers."
"Express your concern [to the event’s hosts] they are giving a platform to pro-Trump authoritarianism, racism, and corruption," it says.
The goal is to make Republicans, even from safe districts, second-guess their support for the Trump agenda, and to prime "the ground for the 2018 midterms when Democrats retake power."

Obama was always just an Alinky community organizer. He helps confirm the Peter Principle; he rose to his level of incompetence as a community organizer.
[NYPOST] New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is telling friends and staff he is taking a role with the Trump administration, according to a source close to the White House. The GOP governor’s position has not been worked out, but he would not replace Reince Preibus as the president’s chief-of-staff, the source said.
"Trump told him to be patient," the source said. "Christie will only take something where he is answerable to the president."
Trump told The Wall Street Journal last month "at some point, we’re going to do something with Chris." But the White House said it has not offered Christie a position.
He's going to need one soon. The governor gig in Joisey is wearing out...
Christie front man Brian Murray said it was "absolutely untrue" he told staff he would take a role.
"The governor dismissed this type of speculation this past week and said he plans to finish out his term as governor," he said. So there you have it, whatever it is.

Ooh, ooh, I know, I know!!!

[DONSURBER.BLOGSPOT] But this story that makes me wonder why we have NPR. It's not as if cable news is not overflowing in news channels. In fact, in many parts of the country -- including my home state of West Virginia -- NPR is hard to get.
Sirius XM offers far more choices and a far better range of voices than NPR.
Why as a taxpayer am I paying for nonsense stories aimed at tearing down the president?
The network says it receives no direct federal funding and that government provides only 5% of its budget.
West Virginia faces a half-billion-dollar budget deficit.
Zero out NPR. Let the organization take a 5% hit in its spending instead of making taxpayers dig deeper to keep alive a redundant and leftist network.
