[Venezuelanalysis] There was another, lesser-known plot against Chavez discovered in New York City during his visit to the United Nations General Assembly in September 2006. According to information provided by his security services, during standard security reconnaissance of an event where Chavez would address the US public at a local, renowned university, high levels of radiation were detected in the chair where he would have sat. The radiation was discovered by a Geiger detector, which is a handheld radiation detection device the presidential security used to ensure the President wasn't in danger of exposure to harmful rays. In this case, the chair was removed and subsequent tests showed it was emanating unusual amounts of radiation that could have resulted in significant harm to Chavez had it gone undiscovered. According to accounts by the presidential security at the event, an individual from the US who had been involved in the logistical support for the event and had provided the chair was shown to be acting with US intelligent agents. The poison chair and weaponized cancer virus conspiracy at the link.

Wrong answer. You should be beaten to death with korans. That's a new punishment I have decided to use.
[RFE/RL] Iran has stopped importing American-made cars after a speech by Supreme Leader Khamenei criticizing them. Although American car manufacturers have been barred from selling cars directly to Iran for decades, Tehran previously had allowed 24 models manufactured by Chevrolet, to be imported through other countries.
The new ban on such imports was imposed on May 1 after a speech by Khamenei on April 27 questioning why Iranians should drive American cars at all. He said, "Americans themselves don't use U.S.-made cars. We have seen this reflected in American media. They argue that fuel consumption is high and the cars are heavy."
GM said that it had no plans to enter the Iranian market anyway. While most Western countries lifted economic sanctions prohibiting the sale of cars to Iran in January, the U.S. continues to bar most commercial ties with Tehran, a GM spokesman said, and the company will continue to honor those sanctions.
Tehran has been in talks to set up joint manufacturing plants inside Iran with major European automakers, including Fiat, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Renault, and Volkswagen.

[Wash Times] The United States Military Academy at West Point said Wednesday that an investigation is underway regarding a photograph that shows 16 black cadets in uniform posing with their fists in the air.
"We can confirm that the cadets in this photo are members of the U.S. Military Academy’s Class of 2016," West Point’s director of public affairs, Lt. Col. Christopher Kasker, told Army Times on Wednesday. "Academy officials are conducting an inquiry into the matter.
John Burk, an Army veteran who served in the Iraq War before launching a popular fitness website, accused the 16 female cadets photographed in the picture of aligning themselves with the Black Lives Matter movement by posing with their fists raised -- a gesture that indeed has been adopted by the protest movement, as well as other, unrelated groups for centuries.

No worries LTC Kasker. While they should all be immediately expelled and barred from further military service, we know nothing will come of this. It is a very sad day for a proud institution.

"....dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."
The famous author did not use the word 'fact, he used the word 'proposition' which is a statement or assertion that expresses a notion, a judgment or opinion.
The notion is flawed, and I can easily use my own humble human experience as evidence. The lie however, will be sustained and round pegs will continue to be placed in square holes, standards will be shunned, and playing fields lowered, all in the name of the egalitarian myth of fairness and equality.
The obvious upside, to overcome the system, a few within those not selected for preferential treatment will strive and achieve even greater accomplishment. Superior accomplishment however, will only serve as a salvation until the test sample is flooded with preferentials or the 'accomplished' begin to be viewed as the illegally privileged and are forced to go elsewhere.

"....dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."
Equal in the eyes of the law regardless of birth or status, not equal in innate ability, drive, or opportunity. Those who demand equality of outcome require inequality in the eyes of the law, ignoring individual ability and effort.
