[Iran Press TV] A senior US senator has announced that he will marry a male partner some 40 years after the death of his wife.
Former Pennsylvania Senator Harris Wofford, 90,
... 2016 - 40 = 1976 was the year she died...
said he was "lucky" enough to have "found happiness" again in marriage with 40-year-old Matthew Charlton.
Wofford initially made the shocking announcement in a column for the New York Times ...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... , titled "Finding Love Again, This Time With a Man."
The former Democratic senator, who has served as a friend and unofficial advisor to Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as a special assistant to President John F Kennedy, also bragged about his "love" towards his late wife, who died of acute leukemia back in 1996.
...2016 - 1996 = 20 years ago. It looks like the Iran PressTV reporter has a little problem with math facts.
"I don't categorize myself based on the gender of those I love. I had a half-century of marriage with a wonderful woman, and now am lucky for a second time to have found happiness."
In the column, Wofford also provides details of how he realized his "bond" with Charlton "had grown into love" on a beach in Florida five years after the death of his wife.
On June 26, 2015, the United States became the 21st and most populous country to legalize same-sex marriage as a result of a Supreme Court ruling.

He's 90 and marrying a 40 year old? It would be a shame if he was just a Democrat trying to be a hero (to the left) in his last years by having a faux gay marriage.
Hopefully their love is as deep, or deeper, than the love between Anna Nicole Smith and her husband.

Wofford could be this guys grandfather. There is some twisted stuff going on. If the happy couple goes on honeymoon to Paris, they better keep clear of the Islamic no-go areas.

My guess wofford is giving his lover a life time survivor pension benefit and free health care for life. This little Union will cost taxpayers for the next 50 years.
[Daily Caller] As the focus of the 2016 race turns to the Hoosier State, former Indiana Basketball coach Bobby Knight will appear with Donald Trump for a campaign rally in Indianapolis this week. Bringing in Bobby Knight was a stroke of genius. Will Larry Bird be next? Trump will likely sweep Indiana.
The campaign said Monday that Trump "will be joined by special guest, the legendary coach, Bobby Knight" during a 6 P.M. event at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Wednesday.
There has been speculation that an endorsement from the famous chair-throwing coach would occur. In September, a New York Times Magazine reporter was in Trump’s office and overheard the businessman on the phone with Trump. "No one has accomplished more than Mr. Trump has," the coach said after Trump told him a reporter was listening.
Over the weekend, Trump teased an endorsement during a rally in Connecticut, saying: "By the way, would I like to get Coach Bobby Knight, who is a great coach, his endorsement. Tough, strong, smart. I would like to get that for Indiana, I’ll tell you what. To me, that would be a great endorsement."

Knight was last at IU 16 years ago, arrested for assault back in the day. Got fired for choking one of his players. So yeah I can see why he'd like trump - he's a loudmouth bully who assaults people. And got fired for it. Great coach but a flawed human being. And he's a celebrity now - he last won something meaningful in indiana back in 1993.
Celebrity endorsement whose opinions are about as current and valuable as Penn and Striesand.
Sorry trumpkins this is not that big a deal. It would be like Kasich getting Woody Hayes (rest his soul) endorsement.

As the Party Elites have already chosen the form of their Destructor, The Stay Puft-Up Manhattan Man, what role or character does Bobby Knight play?
[DAWN] MUZAFFARABAD: A resident of Kai Manja village near Azad Jammu and Kashmire's Muzaffarabad district was allegedly raped by her husband's friends in what she termed a premeditated plot, police said Monday.
The woman, after a dispute with her husband, was staying at her parent's house. Her husband persuaded her to return home after his uncle provided a guarantee on his behalf, Station House Officer (SHO) Garhi Dupatta Babar Rafiq cited the woman as saying.
She said the rape appeared to be planned, as six men were waiting for her when she got home from her parent's house who then raped her, the police official said.
Two suspects have been incarcerated Please don't kill me! in connection with the gang rape, the SHO said, adding that the search for the woman's husband -- the prime suspect -- and the others is ongoing.
The arrested men were remanded into police custody until March 23.

Why dont they continuously run R&D, and take the finished products to create an aircraft they know will work from the beginning? Do that every 5 years or so. Integration becomes much simpler, and the research cost of the aircraft is separated from the actual cost of the airframe and equipment. Its somewhat dishonest to sink the cost of R&D that will be ongoing anyway against the cost of additional aircraft. The difference now between buying X amount of F-22 and X+20 does not require any R&D, just production. So why not account for them that way?
For instance, the B-2 is not a billion dollar aircraft. Its a couple hundred million in equipment and the rest in research and development that can be applied to other systems, and also used as a basis for further R&D.

I've been reading stories like this my entire life. Every new weapons system. Every single one.
What I especially don't like about this plane is that it is taking forever. By the time we get the dam*ed thing to work better than a Sopwith Camel, it will be obsolete. In fact, maybe we should make it so the canopy slides back so they can shoot a pistol at opposing planes and throw bombs out of the cockpit.

Gorb: the airframe's fine, they're just using the software problems as a way of keeping it in LRIP forever, so it'll stay expensive and they don't have to worry about the US having an air force newer than the Mac SE/30.

There is a "work around" according to Marines Not Affected By F-35 Radar Reset Software Glitch; Fielding Still On Track: The Marines are flying both an older 2B software version and the new 3I software, but the software problem resides in a 3I software update that the Marines never loaded, Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Aviation Lt. Gen. Jon Davis told the Senate Armed Services seapower committee on April 20.

Marines have long experience getting superannuated, cast-off or otherwise inoperable equipment, and making it into something you can win battles with.
I still think the Marines would love to fly the A-10s with their Osprey squadrons.
