Cameroon forces kill 162 Boko Haram extremists, retake town
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
's special forces have killed 162 Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Death Eaters in Nigeria's northeastern town of Goshi, destroying bomb factories and weapons to retake the Lion of Islam stronghold, the government said.

The town is now under the control of Nigerian forces after the operation led by Cameroon special forces from Feb. 11 to Feb. 14, Cameroon's communication minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said late Monday.

Cameroon forces freed about 100 people being held by the bully boys, including Cameroonians and Nigerians, he said. Two members of Cameroon's military were killed, he said. The two, including a senior commander, were reported killed after their convoy hit a vehicle Sunday.

"The town of Goshi in Nigeria was formally identified as one of the Boko Haram posts, hosting factories for the manufacturing of bombs and mines," Bakary said. He added that the town was also used to house teenagers who are used as human bombs during suicide kabooms.

Bakary said 162 Boko Haram fighters were killed, four mine factories dismantled, and special forces seized at least five readied mines, hundreds of explosive holders, boom jackets and triggers.

A previously identified training center, along with two vehicles were also set on fire, he said.

The operation took place under the banner of the multinational task force, and with intelligence and operational coordination with Nigerian forces, he said.

In its six-year insurgency, Boko Haram has killed more than 20,000 people and displaced 2.5 million in the region, according to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
and Amnesia Amnesty International.

Attacks across Nigeria's borders increased by the snuffies last year in countries such as Cameroon who are contributing to a multinational force to combat Boko Haram.

Germany shuts down Islamic centre in Bremen, raids apartments

[Ynet] The northern German city-state of Bremen shut down an Islamic cultural centre on Tuesday after police raided it and the apartments of 12 of its members on suspicion of associations with Islamist murderous Moslems.

Bremen Interior Minister Ulrich Maeurer said The Islamic Association Bremen was closely linked to a similar cultural organization that was banned after some of its members joined the Islamic State

More than 220 officers participated in the raids, confiscating mobile phones, computers, hard drives and other memory cards, Maeurer told a news conference.

No arrests were made. Police also searched a car repair shop in Delmenhorst, just outside Bremen.
No doubt arrests will follow examination of all those phones, computers, and stored memories. Happy hunting, guys!
Belgium charges three people in ISIS recruitment investigation

[Ynet] Belgian prosecutors have charged three of 10 people detained earlier on Tuesday on suspicion of operating a recruitment ring for holy warrior group Islamic State

Belgium has been at the heart of investigations into the Nov. 13 attacks in Gay Paree in which 130 people were killed as four of the jacket wallahs had either been living in Belgium or were Belgian-Moroccans. The country has one of the highest per capita rates of participation in holy warrior groups such as Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.

Prosecutors said one woman in her thirties, named as Marianna A., and two men in their twenties, Azzeddine K. and Mohammed O., have been placed under arrest.

Seven others detained in raids on homes where prosecutors seized computers and mobile phones as part of an investigation into people having left to join the Islamic State

Germany-based Syrians face terror charges in Bulgaria

fighters back home and are facing terrorism charges, prosecutors in Sofia said Tuesday.
It is the first such case in Bulgaria since it introduced new legislation last year criminalising the intent of joining terrorist groups.

Police detained the men -- aged 21, 22 and 25 -- last week as they tried to illegally cross Bulgaria's southeastern border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

, near the main Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint.

Bulgarian newspaper Capital reported Tuesday that the Syrians were refugees residing in Germany for between two and six years, meaning they did not arrive with the recent influx of migrants.

After their February 8 arrest, the suspects had initially been handed six-month suspended sentences for trespassing.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
authorities then found "pictures with jihadist content on their mobile phones and tracked down correspondence between them and Islamic State

members who are well known to European authorities," the special prosecution's press office told AFP Tuesday.

The trio denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
but authorities said that several witnesses had confirmed the suspects' intention to join fighters in Syria.

They had tried to enter The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

earlier this year after travelling by bus from Germany to Greece, but had been turned back, according to officials.

Bulgaria, which has remained on the sidelines of the huge migrant influx from Turkey and Greece to Europe, has become a major transit country for jihadists seeking to join IS in Syria.
Good to know.

ISIS extremists publicly behead Iraqi teenager for listening to western music
Someone, somewhere was having a better time than ISIS was
[ARA News] QAMISHLI – The radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) on Tuesday executed a teenage boy in Mosul city of Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh province.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested by ISIS militants in central Mosul for listening to “western music”, according to local sources.

“Ayham Hussein was captured by the jihadis while listening to Pop music at the grocery store of his father in the Nabi Younis marketplace in western Mosul. He was referred to the Sharia Court, which issued a decision to execute him,” a spokesman for the Nineveh media center told ARA News.

“ISIS jihadis publicly beheaded the boy,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The victim’s body was reportedly handed over to his family on Tuesday evening. The incident has raised public outrage among Mosul’s residents.

“There was no formal decision by the Sharia Court that ban listening to western music,” the source said, adding this was the first case of its kind to be documented in Mosul.

#2  The 'Human Rights' community demands perfection rather than accept the reality of collateral damage. Better to suffer 200 or 300 civilian casualties taking out rather than allowing the barbarians to kill a thousand. It's a matter of trade offs, always has been. The French suffered about 50-60,000 casualties in the time between the German occupation and the liberation of France from allied bombings and the fighting after D-Day.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian forces foil bombing near Jenin
[Ynet] Paleostinian teenagers stopped with knives and pipe bombs at Jalame checkpoint; attempted use of pipe bombs in an attack is a significant development in the strategy being used by these lone wolf attackers.

Paleostinian Security Forces thwarted a bombing attempt at the Jalame checkpoint in Jenin on Tuesday morning.

Paleostinian sources told Ynet that two teenagers were caught in possession of pipe bombs and knives.

The two teenagers were caught by Paleostinian Security Forces stationed on the Paleostinian side of the checkpoint moments before they were to enter Israel, the Paleostinian sources told Ynet.

The teenagers, both 15, planned to carry out a two stage attack - first detonating the pipe bombs, then knifing the survivors. The two, from the town of Yamun next to Jenin, are related, and study at the same school.

Throughout the recent escalation in violence, the Paleostinian Security Forces have stopped at least three attacks at the Jalame checkpoint. The Paleostinian forces were deployed at the checkpoint after four attempted stabbings by teenage Paleostinians from the town of Qabatiya, also next to Jenin. Israeli forces neutralized the attackers each time.

This attempted pipe kaboom is a worrying development. The fact that the Paleostinian Security Forces were able to stop this attack proves that the Paleostinian Authority is still continuing to stop attacks against Israeli targets, and that the security cooperation between Israel and the PA is still strong, despite the calls by many within the PA to stop all security cooperation with Israel.

The attempts come at the heels of a general Paleostinian teachers' strike, which left many of the schools in the West Bank closed, and left students with nothing to do. The worry is that these kids will keep themselves busy by going on social media and watching TV - of which many of the pages and stations are affiliated with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
- and that the number of attacks will increase.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Dutch fighter jets strike first ISIS targets in Syria
[Ynet] Dutch F-16 fighter jets have bombed ISIS targets for the first time in Syria since broadening its mission in the US-led air campaign, the defense ministry said Tuesday.

"Dutch F-16s carried out around 10 missions over Iraq and eastern Syria," the Hague-based ministry said in its weekly summary of operations on its website.

It is the first time the summary has mentioned targets in Syria since the Dutch government late last month announced it was fanning out its current air support mission over Iraq into Syria, in the wake of US and French requests.

The air strikes were directed against "combat positions, military equipment and strategic aims of (ISIS)," the ministry said, without detailing when and where the attacks took place.

Western-backed Syrian forces make new gains in Aleppo
ALEPPO – Kurdish-Arab alliance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) made new gains against Islamist rebels in Syria’s northern Aleppo province, military sources reported on Tuesday.

Subsequent to clashes with militant fighters of al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda wing in Syria) and the Islamic Movement of Ahrar al-Sham, the western-backed SDF units captured several villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

“Our forces liberated the town of Sheikh Issa and a number of villages in its suburbs north of Aleppo after clashes with the Islamist fighters of Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham,” SDF spokesman Ahmed al-Omar told ARA News.

At least 18 Islamist fighters were killed in the clashes, while the SDF lost four members in Tuesday’s operations.

This comes just a day after the Kurdish YPG fighters and SDF allies took control of the strategic Tel Rafaat town –one of the main supply routes for the radical Islamist groups in northern Aleppo.

The SDF advance comes amid continuous shelling by the Turkish army on the Kurdish positions in northern Aleppo. Turkey’s bombardment on the Kurdish units was considered as a direct support to Syrian Islamist groups, including Nusra Front–al-Qaeda wing in Syria.

#1  The Kurds have been helped big time by the Russian air attacks.

In effect, they (the Kurds) are becoming part of the Russia/Hezbollah/Iran support for the Assad regime.

And this hasn't been noticed by a single media org.

#4  ssshhhh..the freighter isn't finished yet.

A Team Assad Kurdish region with Russia as a protectorate right on Turkey's border would put an extra curl in Erdy's slippers. And a Kurdish region or even talk of a Kurdistan in the Russia/Iran axis would put an extra twist in his turban. It is no wonder Erdy is pounding his tiny fists on the War Drum again. I'm sorry, the Somebody Else Fight My War Drum.

#5  Besides, it would be a little...uncomfortable..for the president, if news of the Klobbering Kurds of Kobane, the saviors of the Yazidis and other persecuted minorities, and the only group with the nuts and bolts to go toe-to-toe with the ISJV, armed with basic weapons, and kick them right in the dick, if that got out, why it would take the sheen right off of Obama's bracket picks.

US-led airstrikes in NE Syria kill 15 civilians: Monitoring group
[Iran Press TV] At least 15 civilians have been killed in northeastern Syria in Arclight airstrikes carried out by the so-called US-led coalition purportedly hitting Daesh [Islamic State] positions in the Arab country, a monitoring group says.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 20 more people also sustained injuries in the Tuesday US-led attacks on the town of al-Shadadi in Hasakah province.

The UK-based monitoring group added that the overall corpse count was likely to rise.

Since September 2014, the US along with some of its allies has been conducting air raids against what are said to be the Daesh [Islamic State] Takfiri

snuffies inside Syria without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate. The air assaults in Syria are an extension of the US-led aerial campaign against purported Daesh [Islamic State] positions in Iraq, which started in August 2014.

The US-led strikes have killed scores of civilians in Syria ever since.

US Defense Secretary Ash Carter, who has been under pressure to shore up support from Sunni Arab allies to fight Islamic State last week welcomed a commitment from Saudi Arabia to expand its role in air strikes.

"They (the Saudis) did participate in strikes over the weekend," said Peter Cook, a Pentagon front man, in a Tuesday news briefing. He did not say specifically what the Saudi actions were, or where.
