[MARKETWATCH] Americans say the American Dream is suffering — and that our laziness and low morals may be partially to blame. It's dem damn dumb white people. Da country be better off widdout dem. Vote Democrat.
Searches for “American Dream” have fallen 24% since Google began tracking this data in 2004 -- and when you type “American Dream” into Google, three of the four top autofills are “dead,” “a lie” and “leaving America,” according to an analysis of Google Trends data released Friday in a report by brokerage firm Convergex.
Furthermore, three in four Americans now say that the “American Dream” — broadly, the notion that through hard work and determination every American can have a successful life — is suffering, according to the 7th Annual American Values Survey unveiled last year at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
What’s more, 69% say the obstacles to realizing the dream are “more severe today than ever” — and note that a decline in work ethic is the primary hurdle to Dream achievement. The poll of more than 2,300 Americans was conducted by Burson-Marsteller and market research firm Penn Schoen Berland.

A trip in the way-back machine (remember Rocky and Bullwinkle and Mr Peabody) I recall an undergrad Econ class where there was this quaint notion that wealth was only created (not transferred) by the creation of something.
We de-industrialized America and sent all those jobs overseas, and now, discover that our wealth has been squandered, the public treasury looted by grifters and witless fools, and the impoverished populace has been so poorly educated that they think the only solution is more tyrannical government power. I cannot see a path back that isn't terrible to consider, and the importation of a million new immigrants each year demanding largesse from Washington is compounding any fix.

Spot on comment NoMoreBS! I think that we people with vision and drive will make our own good news. But the parasites of hard workers who live off the bounty of the land and mind are not welcome. Everyone contributes what they have. We are going through a real crisis in our country and the world. It will not be the same. We will work for a better country but we will not do everybody's work for them.
