Gummint troops whack Shaboob, take weapons
Somali Govt troops have launched an attack on Al shabaab base near Halgan area in Hiiraan region on Thursday and killed one militant fighter, according to a top military commander.

Mohamed Omar, a senior military chief said in an interview with Radio Shabelle that Somali soldiers have killed one Al shabaab member and seized four AK-47 riffle assaults during the combat at a village located 20Kms away from Halgan.

“The area we attacked was an Al shabaab stronghold village, where they used to collect Zakah (An Islamic levy on the wealth) from the local herders near Halgan town,” said the army officer.

Al-Shabaab faction pledges allegiance to ISIS
Nairobi, Kenya -- A high-ranking member and spiritual leader of Al-Shabaab has pledged allegiance to ISIS, a move that further fractures the Somali-based jihadi group and spreads the reach of ISIS further into Africa.

The report that formerly UK-based Abdul Qadir Mumin had sworn loyalty to ISIS came from a source familiar with Al-Shabaab and was supported by a U.S. intelligence source, who said Mumin’s pledge came in a video that is expected to be released online.

In the video, Mumin, along with several other jihadis based in Somalia’s Central Region, swear their allegiance to ISIS. Some known Al-Shabaab members have already done so online.

Egypt gains 'full control' of North Sinai: Spokesperson
[AlAhram] Egypt's armed forces have gained full control over the North Sinai areas of Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuwaid after successful raids on terrorist strongholds and weapons caches, the Egyptian army front man announced on Thursday
Place yer bets, ladies and gents, on the over/under for the next round of reprisals required.
I'm thinking a month or so.
Egypt has killed 20 Lions of Islam in North Sinai, maimed 12 and detained 78 more in joint police and army raids, he said, without specifying when they occurred.

His statement also mentions that Egyptian forces dismantled 51 bombs and destroyed cycle of violences used to monitor troops' movements and six SUV vehicles fitted with machine guns.

The Egyptian military also stated that it has destroyed eight hideouts containing some 1000 kilograms of explosives, 4000 litres of gas and three tons of cannabis,
...personal use or fund raising? Where on earth was that smuggled from -- Gaza has shortages of both power and water -- and how without anyone noticing?
as well as seizing collections of books with jihadist ideology.

Twenty underground shelters used for hiding individuals and vehicles were also destroyed.

On 7 October Egypt's armed forces announced the commencement of the second stage of Martyr's Right, its most recent North Sinai operation.

Martyr's Right is the largest and most comprehensive operation aimed at rooting out and killing turbans in Sinai yet. ISIS-affiliated Lions of Islam mounted their largest attack in months on Egypt's security forces in July.

Egypt Police Arrest Muslim Brotherhood 'Financier'
[AnNahar] Egyptian police said they locked away
Please don't kill me!
a senior figure and key financier of the banned Moslem Brüderbund on Thursday.

Businessman Hassan Malek was detained at his home in a suburb of Cairo, police sources said.

"The prosecution issued an arrest warrant for him, as he is implicated in several judicial cases," an interior ministry source said without elaborating.

In 2006, Malek was arrested under former president Hosni Mubarak

.

While officially prohibited, the Brotherhood was tolerated under Mubarak and even ran candidates for office as independents.

Both men were freed in 2011 after the popular uprising that ousted Mubarak.

In 2013, then army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sissi overthrew Mubarak's successor, Mohammed Morsi, and totally proscribed the Brotherhood.

It also launched a crackdown on the group, in which many Islamists were killed, with thousands arrested and hundreds of them condemned to death in speedy mass trials.

Boko Haram militants kill 8 villagers in Cameroon: Government

... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
that was followed by a gunbattle between holy warriors and security forces, a government official said on Thursday.

Boko Haram wants to create a caliphate under a strict version of Islamic law in adjacent northeastern Nigeria and has carried out raids into neighbouring countries.

"Wednesday's attacks killed eight and maimed nine," said Babila Akaou, prefect for the Mayo-Sava district, referring to the overnight assault in the village of Doulo. "For security forces and Boko Haram hard boys, we do not yet have a corpse count."

Boko Haram used Cameroon's north to stockpile supplies and recruits until a government crackdown last year, but the holy warriors have responded this year by ramping up attacks in the area.

Cameroon is part of an 8,700-strong regional force, led by Nigeria, preparing to fight the hard boys. The United States also announced it would be sending troops and drones to help the fight against Boko Haram.

Dozens of casualties feared in suspected airstrike on Yemeni wedding
At least 30 people are feared dead and dozens missing in Yemen after a suspected Saudi-led airstrike targeted a wedding party in the second such attack in a week.

Large numbers of people were attending the event at a family home in the small town of Sanban, some 100 kilometres south of the capital Sanaa, when the airstrike hit on Wednesday evening.

Families had gathered to celebrate the joint wedding of three sons from the Sanabali family, according to one of their cousins, Tawfiq al-Sanabali, who spoke to the New York Times newspaper on Thursday.

Medics on the ground told Houthi-owned news site 21 Sept that two of the sons who were due to be married were killed, along with one of the brides, whose wedding convoy reportedly arrived at the house just before the airstrike.

Estimates of the death toll varied widely on Thursday morning, although CNN put the number of those killed and injured at about 100, saying at least 30 people were dead.

Locals allege that the raid was launched by planes from the Saudi-led coalition that has been trying to dislodge Houthi rebels over the past seven months.

“Warplanes were heard in the area ahead of the attack,” eyewitness Taha al-Zuba told AFP.

“Coalition warplanes launched the attack. The house was completely destroyed.”

But the Saudi-led coalition denied any involvement in the incident, with a spokesperson telling AFP: "There were no strikes there. Definitely."

"Not every explosion that takes place in Yemen is an airstrike," coalition spokesperson Ahmed Assiri told CNN.

"It could be a missile, car bomb, or weapons cache."

Saudi-owned news site al-Arabiya did not carry news of the claimed strike, alleging instead that shelling launched by the Houthis on Wednesday night killed “dozens” of civilians in Sanbar.

The alleged raid in Sanbar on Wednesday night was the second to target a Yemeni wedding party in just over a week.

On 28 September planes thought to be from the Saudi-led coalition bombed a wedding party in the Red Sea port town of Mocha, killing some 130 people in what the UN says could be the single deadliest attack in seven months of war.

The missiles hit as a man linked to the Houthi movement celebrated his wedding in the town.

The coalition also denied responsibility for that attack, saying the force had launched no strikes in the area.

However, Yemeni officials who spoke to the Associated Press confirmed that the deaths were the result of an airstrike, saying the attack had been a “mistake”.

In the wake of the most recent wedding strike there were calls for retribution from locals.

Yemen's al-Qaeda branch now in control of several Aden neighbourhoods
Al-Qaeda's black flag has been seen flying over several official buildings in Yemen's second city Aden as the militants have made inroads in the absence of state authority and with the country mired in conflict.

In Tawahi, the flag has been hoisted over the police station and is flying on cars ferrying men across one of the largest districts of the port city, residents told AFP.

"Armed men of al-Qaeda control our whole district, even if there are only a few dozen of them," said Raefat, a 32-year-old employee of Yemeni radio and television.

"It's no surprise given there's no state or government," he said.

With the capital Sanaa under the control of Houthi rebels for the past year, the exiled government returned to Aden as its "provisional capital" in September, only to take flight again within weeks.

Prime Minister Khaled Bahah and his team returned to Riyadh after a deadly 6 October attack claimed by the Islamic State group on an Aden hotel that was being used to house the government.

A government security official told AFP that the militants are active in several areas "like Crater, Khor Maksar and Brigua, where their presence is growing stronger by the day".

The official, declining to be named, said he "fears the city will fall under their total control in the absence of the state".

Bahah's departure was a setback for government forces and the Saudi-led Arab coalition supporting them that had recaptured Aden from the Houthis and their allies in July.

Three months later, hundreds of young gunmen now control most public buildings in the city, according to residents, contacted from Sanaa.

They claim allegiance to the pro-government "Popular Resistance," a loose coalition of former regular army soldiers, tribal militias, Islamists and southern secessionists.

The coalition has battled against the Houthis but without necessarily pledging loyalty to President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, also exiled in Saudi Arabia.

Europe
Gunmen Stage New Assault on Migrants at Sea
The wolves gather to harry the sheep.
[AnNahar] Unidentified gunnies have staged a series of new sabotage attacks on boats carrying migrants cross the Aegean Sea, Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
said on Thursday.

Quoting witnesses, the New York-based rights group said there had been eight incidents in which gunnies "intercepted and disabled the boats carrying asylum seekers and migrants from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
toward the Greek islands."

The most recent incidents were on October 7 and 9.

According to a 17-year-old Afghan called Ali, a speedboat with five men armed with handguns had rammed their rubber dinghy on October 9.

"At first when they approached, we thought they had come to help us," he told HRW.

"But by the way they acted, we realized they hadn't come to help. They were so aggressive. They didn't come on board our boat, but they took our boat's engine and then sped away," he said.

He said the men attacked three other boats in quick succession before speeding off toward the Greek coast

"They spoke a language we didn't know, but it definitely was not Turkish, as we Afghans can understand a bit of Turkish," he said.

Similar allegations were made by both migrants and rights groups during the summer.

The latest attacks took place near the island of Lesbos, HRW said.

A Greek coastguard source said the claims were under investigation but despite searches, they had not been able to locate the alleged perpetrators.

In August, the coastguard tossed in the calaboose
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
three men on the island of Samos suspected of preying on migrants seeking to cross over from Turkey.

They were dressed like members of the Greek coastguard and wore hoods, the coastguard said.

At the time, several refugees from Syria and Iraq on the island of Kos told AFP they had been attacked by masked gunnies at sea, with some claiming the assailants stole their fuel and even their motors.

Some accused the Greek coastguard of assaulting them.

- Rising influx -
Over half a million migrants and refugees have arrived in Greece, most of them fleeing violence in wartorn Syria.

The influx has shown little sign of letting up and has threatened to overwhelm the authorities, particularly on the Greek islands.

On Wednesday, the International Rescue Committee said 16,000 people were stranded on the island of Lesbos owing to a registration bottleneck.

"Food is in short supply, as is access to water, toilets or suitable shelter," the IRC said.

Greece's interior ministry on Thursday said it needed an additional 330 million euros ($375 million) to upgrade registration centers on the islands.

It said the response of EU states who had been expected to provide additional border staff fell far below requirements.

Out of 775 staff requested by EU border agency Frontex, only 48 had been pledged by six out of the 28 member states, the ministry said.

"We are making every effort to carry out our responsibilities," the ministry said in a note.

"Our response time can only be equivalent to the response time of the rest of Europe," it said.

Sharp Rise in Attacks on Migrant Centers in Germany, Says Police
The peasants are revolting.
[AnNahar] Crimes targeting refugee centers in Germany have risen sharply, police said Thursday, cautioning that the European migrant crisis was also fueling the risk of attacks on politicians by far-right Death Eaters.

The warning by Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) comes after a mayoral candidate in the eastern city of Cologne was stabbed in the neck in an attack apparently motivated by her work with refugees.

The BKA said there were 285 attacks on migrant centers across Germany during July, August and September -- more than in the whole of 2014, when only 198 offenses were recorded.

There have been 576 offenses targeting refugee hostels since the start of the year, including cases of criminal damage and inciting hatred, 523 of which were committed by far-right Death Eaters, the BKA said.

"Alongside the attacks on asylum-seeker hostels, attacks against officials held responsible (for the influx of migrants), such as politicians or the managers of lodging places, could grow," a BKA spokesperson warned.

Independent candidate Henriette Reker became the most prominent victim of a growing backlash against a huge influx of migrants to Germany on Saturday when a man attacked her with knives as she campaigned in the Cologne vote.

She survived serious injuries and went on to win the election.

More than 630,000 people fleeing war and misery in the Middle East and Africa have landed on Europe's shores so far this year.

Most want to get to Germany, Europe's economic powerhouse, which is expecting to register up to a million asylum seekers by the end of 2015.

German security experts are bracing for a rise in unrest, with domestic intelligence chief Hans-Georg Maassen warning in late September of a radicalization of right-wing groups and "a greater willingness to use violence" by all Death Eater groups.

Bhatti is also accused of being involved in attacks on playwright Asghar Nadeem Syed, journalist and television anchor Raza Rumi and advocate Masood Abid Naqvi.

Police said all attacks had been carried out at the behest of the Malik Ishaq group of LeJ. Malik Ishaq, his two sons and 11 associates were killed in a police encounter near Muzaffargarh in July.

According to police, after obtaining secret information about the presence of Haroon Rashid Bhatti in Dubai, CCPO retired Capitan Amin Wains contacted Interpol a month ago.

After getting a reply from Interpol, he constituted a police team, led by CIA SSP Umar Virk, to go to Dubai to arrest Bhatti.

The team conducted a raid in Dubai in collaboration with Interpol, arresting Bhatti and his accomplices Ahmed Yar, Ghulam Mustafa, Tariq Nawaz Dhilon and Ayaz Ahmed.

The CIA team brought Bhatti and his accomplices to Lahore on Thursday and drove them to an undisclosed place for interrogation.

SSP Virk told news hounds at Lahore Airport that the LeJ activists had been operating from Dubai and planning attacks on Muharram processions in different areas of Lahore.

According to a TV report, Bhatti was the last key leader of LeJ as all of its other leaders have either been killed in police encounters or arrested.

Pakistan’s indigenous armed drone conducts first nighttime strike
Note that the article refers to the drone in the singular...
RAWALPINDI: Several terrorists were killed late on Thursday in South Waziristan in the first nighttime strike by Pakistan’s first indigenous armed drone, ‘Burraq’, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. It was Buraaq’s first airstrike in the dark hours and took place with pinpoint accuracy, a source said.

The development took place after air strikes by fighter jets killed 21 militants near the Pak-Afghan border, said an ISPR. “21 militants were killed in air strikes in Rajgal and Tirah areas of Khyber Agency,” Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Earlier on October 11, at least 22 terrorists were killed in air strikes by Pakistani warplanes in the North Waziristan tribal agency before dawn. Six compounds of terrorists were decimated in the air raids in Shawal Valley, according to the military’s media wing. The strategic valley is located on the confluence of borders between North and South Waziristan agencies.

The military has been engaged in a massive operation in North Waziristan since mid-June 2014. Most parts of the agency, once a stronghold of local and foreign militants, have been purged of terrorists. However, some militants are holed up in the thickly forested Shawal Valley, which is now regarded as the last bastion of militants.

Quetta Quorpse Qount
QUETTA: A suicide attacker blew himself outside an imambargah in Bolan’s Goth Chalghari area on Thursday, killing at least 10 people and injuring many others.

“At least 10 people were killed and 12 others were wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up at an imambargah,” said Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti. Local administration official Mohammad Waseem confirmed the attack and the death toll. Bugti said there were six children between 10 and 12 years old among the dead and that some women had also died. He added that the death toll may rise. Waseem said the suspected suicide bomber appeared to be about 18 years old and was wearing a woman’s burqa.

Rescue workers and people of the area faced difficulties in shifting the injured to hospital. There is reportedly only one basic health unit in the vicinity, that too without a qualified doctor and proper health facilities. More than a dozen people were injured in the blast, which rocked the village located in interior Balochistan. Security forces reached the bomb blast site and cordoned off the area. According to initial police investigation, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside an imambargah in Goth Chalghari area of Tehsil Bhag in Bolan District.

The injured would be shifted to Sibi Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Security has been increased in and around the locality after the bomb, with contingents of FC and police patrolling different areas. Earlier in the week, a blast in a local bus killed at least 10 people, two of them children, on Sariab Road. Twenty-two people were injured, six of them seriously. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch had condemned the blast and said, “I am personally monitoring the situation.” Preparations were made to ensure that the Muharram passes incident-free and security plans to ensure the safety of processions were finalised.

At least 11 people were killed and 22 others injured in an explosion inside a passenger bus at Quetta’s Sariab Road on Monday. Police surgeon Dr Noor Baloch confirmed the deaths, saying eight of the injured are said to be in critical condition. IG Balochistan Almish Khan said the bomb was a timed device and planted on the roof of the overcrowded bus. “It weighed four to five kilogrammes,’ he said. “Most of the victims were sitting at the backseats when the device exploded,” Mohammad Idress, an injured person told the media at Civil Hospital. Passengers in the front row suffered minor injuries, he added. Being the last bus to travel to the commercial district during the day, the bus was overcrowded with passengers on the rooftop as well.

Many among the dead were on the roof, who suffered deep splinter wounds. The explosion occurred inside a local city bus in the Dukani Baba Chowk area on Saryab Road. Up to 40 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the bombing. Rescue personnel confirmed that two children were among the dead. “More than 20 people have been injured,” said Javed Gharheen, a senior police official. All the injured were shifted to Quetta Civil Hospital, where an emergency had been declared. Six of the injured were in critical condition, according to rescue personnel.

Iraq
After Hawijah raid IS leaders "all went missing"
Very well done, gentlemen.
[AnNahar] A Hawijah resident said that after the raid IS leaders in Hawijah "all went missing."

"The Daesh [Islamic State] leaders in Hawijah all went missing after the raid. Their offices are closed and nobody knows where they went," the resident said, asking not to be identified by name. Daesh [Islamic State] is the Arabic name for Islamic State

Another resident of the area said, "The group's top Hawijah leader was detained and another big shot too. A number of them were killed and several of the people held in that prison were freed."

Colonel Steve Warren, the coalition front man in Iraq, said U.S. pressure has "begun to sow a bit of paranoia inside the organization."

"We've killed 70 of their mid- and high-level leaders since May, that's an average of one every two days, so we are putting pressure on their leadership. And we've seen that this creates a level of paranoia that causes them to re-evaluate their own security, that causes them to interrogate their own people," he said.

Kurdish peshmerga forces control Kirkuk and have long worked closely with the US-led coalition.

Iraqi security and allied paramilitary forces have in recent days been closing in on Hawijah from the south and west. The city lies about 240 kilometers (150 miles) north of Baghdad.

Kurdish peshmerga forces, backed by U.S.-led coalition air strikes, have also in recent weeks moved several kilometers closer to Hawijah, pushing down from the north and east

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
The Times of Israel liveblogged Thursday's events
Not all that much appears to have happened in Israel -- a bit of a fuss in Gaza wherein the IDF shot three Gazans who were throwing rocks and burning tire at them, a molotov cocktail and a burning tire were sent in the direction of a West Bank settlement, and Israel's High Court temporarily halted house demolitions. Though they missed the following early Thursday morning:
18-year-old stabbed in Beit Shemesh; two terrorists shot by police

[Jpost] Two Paleostinians stabbed a young ultra-Orthodox man outside a Beit Shemesh synagogue on Thursday morning.

Police shot the terrorists, killing one and seriously wounding his accomplice.

The 18-year-old victim, whose named has not been released, is in satisfactory condition with stab wounds to his upper body at Jerusalem's Hadassah-University Medical Center in Ein Kerem.

According to eyewitnesses, the pair first attempted to board a school bus on Habakkuk Street in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel neighborhood, but the driver repelled them. They continued down to Yechezkel Street where they assaulted the young man outside the Kol Yehuda Synagogue, and were subsequently shot at a nearby bus stop.

Arabic media named the gunnies as Mekdad Alehih and Mahmoud Ghneimat, both 20, from the town of Surif in the Hebron region.
Ynet adds:
The two terrorists, who were wearing t-shirts with the logo of Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,' mlitary wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, were identified by Paleostinian sources as Mekdad Mohammed Ibrahim Alehih, 21, and Mahmoud Khaled Mahmoud Ghneimat, 20, both from the town of Tzurif near Hebron.

Ghneimat served time in an Israeli prison from 2012-2014 after being caught with a knife at the Cave of the Patriarchs. Alehih is a Hamas operative, who took part in activities organized by Hamas' students union.

in Leb and he has confessed to plotting a wave of attacks in the country, the General Security said on Thursday.

The holy warrior, a Paleostinian national, confessed to being "the religious official of the terrorist IS group in the Ein el-Hellhole (Paleostinian refugee) camp" in southern Leb, the security agency said in a statement.

He also confessed to forming an IS cell along with his brother and another Paleostinian refugee. The two accomplices were arrested in the same operation, according to the General Security statement.

The IS official's brother meanwhile confessed that he had visited the Syrian city of Raqa -- the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State group -- with the aim of "coordinating security operations inside Leb."

"He met with big shots of the IS group and they set up a central operations room in the Ein el-Hellhole camp and intended to link it to all IS terrorist cells operating in Leb's Paleostinian camps," the statement said.

"They plotted to target Lebanese army posts and checkpoints with jacket wallahs, to assassinate Lebanese and Paleostinian political figures, and to booby-trap cars to blow them up in Dahieh's neighborhoods, especially during occasions and ceremonies, including the Ashura commemorations," the General Security added.

The botched scheme had been intended at "stirring sectarian sedition and undermining coexistence."

"Following interrogation, they were referred to the relevant judicial authorities and efforts are still underway to monitor and pursue the rest of the group's members as well as the instigators and collaborators," the agency said.

Coalition Strikes Destroy IS Oil Field in Syria
[AnNahar] Air strikes by the U.S.-led coalition destroyed an oil facility run by the Islamic State

group in eastern Syria, a front man said Thursday.

The series of strikes late Wednesday on the Omar oil field near the city of Deir Ezzor would affect the jihadist organization's ability to generate funds through oil sales, he said.

"There were strikes last night that struck Daesh [Islamic State]-controlled oil refineries, command and control centers and transportation nodes" in the Omar oil field, U.S. operations officer Major Michael Filanowski told news hounds in Baghdad.

"There were 26 targets and all 26 were struck," he said. "That will impact their strategic ability to generate money."

He said the amount of money IS was estimated to generate through its exploitation of the Omar oil field was between $1.7 million and $5.1 million a month.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said a coalition air raid on the Omar field destroyed pipelines and oil storage facilities.

Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said the strike killed a civilian, and maimed several other civilians and IS fighters.

IS, which controls large regions of Syria and Iraq, has relied heavily on oil production to finance its self-proclaimed "caliphate."

targeted the myrmidon group with 22 air strikes in Syria and Iraq on Wednesday, according to the Combined Joint Task Force leading the operation.

In Iraq, 14 strikes near six cities hit several of the myrmidons' mortar and fighting positions as well as vehicles, bunkers and buildings, the task force said in the statement, released on Thursday.

Eight strikes in Syria hit oil collection points and an Islamic State main petroleum station, among other targets, the statement said.

Government
FBI, Secret Service probe hack of CIA chief's private emails
[AlAhram] The FBI and US Secret Service have opened criminal inquiries into the hacking of a private email account used by CIA Director John Brennan and his family, the FBI said on Thursday.

The investigations followed the posting on social media earlier this week by the hackers of data stolen from an AOL account. Intelligence officials said the account was used by Brennan and his family, but was not used to transmit or store government secrets.

"The FBI is investigating this matter jointly with the US Secret Service. As this is an ongoing investigation, we declined further comment," said a spokeswoman at Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Washington.

The case marked another instance of hacking involving the US government or government officials, although it appeared to be of a much smaller and more primitive character than previous attacks, such as the massive breach of Office of Personnel Management computers in June.

"The hacking of the Brennan family account is a crime and the Brennan family is the victim. The private electronic holdings of the Brennan family were plundered with malicious intent and are now being distributed across the web," the CIA said in a statement on Wednesday.

"This attack is something that could happen to anyone and should be condemned, not promoted. There is no indication that any (of) the documents released thus far are classified," the spy agency added.

Material from the Brennan account was published by a hacker who called himself "Cracka" and said he was working with a group called CWA, or Crackas With Attitude. It included email contact addresses, some of which were out of date, and the Social Security numbers and personal information of US intelligence officials.

On Wednesday, the WikiLeaks website posted data from the Brennan cache including a draft version of Standard Form 86, which babus government employees must fill out when applying for a security clearance. Brennan's form included personal information on himself, acquaintances and close family members.

WikiLeaks also posted what appeared to be unclassified documents on Iran and CIA interrogation practices, some of which were publicly circulated years ago.

Wired Magazine published an interview this week in which the purported hacker described how he and two associates conned telecommunications company Verizon into giving them information which enabled them to hack into Brennan's AOL account.

Meanwhile, I received my OPM mass mailing in reference to the loss of private information of tens of millions of current and former DoD personnel and contractors. We get a letter, Brennan and his poor family get an FBI and Secret Service investigation. Sounds about right.
