[Daily Caller] A Waffle House customer with a legally concealed weapon saved the day by shooting an armed robber at a Waffle House in North Charleston, South Carolina.
The customer, who remains unidentified, opened fire on the armed suspect around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, according to The Post and Courier. The suspect, who police have also not named, was rushed to the hospital where he died from his wounds.
The customer's decision to use force drew praise from employees. "He saved us, that's what he did," a Waffle House employee said.
One police officer on the scene speaking on the condition of anonymity said the customer's actions are an example of how guns in the right hands can save people, saying, "It's says something about firearms, for good people with firearms being in the right hands."

Sit in a corner, facing the door or your vehicle, or both. Learn the menu, I recommend the 'Grand Slam.' Bring a paper to read. Don't give anyone your name. Leave a good tip, use cash, and depart quickly when finished. Safety is all about exposure.

Has anyone noticed that all through this miserable week in SC, there's been no looting, no panicked mobs? And how when some dumb sh!t walks into a Waffle House thinking he's going to take what he wants, this is the result?
Not the only reasons I love my adopted home state, but important ones.

Besoeker, "Grand Slam" is at Denny's (which I loathe). WH has a simple menu for us simple minds. The menu just not that friendly to my diabetes. Oh, well.

The suspect, who police have also not named, was rushed to the hospital where he died from his wounds.
This is key.
Also, I wonder if the lives saved by direct action count as much as the lives taken by the idiot in Oregon. Or do they only count 10% because the absence of a negative gets discounted?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] An Egyptian court reduced the prison sentence for dancers Shakira and Bardis to three months from an earlier sentence of six months.
They were imprisoned for inciting debauchery by filming a video clip that included sexual undertones.
The dancers' lawyers contend that the video clips are works of art that can be interpreted in different ways.
In March, Saffinaz, a well-known dancer, was sentenced to six months in jail for insulting the national flag after she appeared in a video wearing a dress in its colours.
In July, Salma el-Fouly, an other dancer, received a six-month sentence for a video in which she wore controversial clothes.

Gamora: I'm a warrior, an assassin. I don't dance.
Peter Quill: Really? Well, on my planet, we have a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, is the greatest thing there is.
[AA.TR] A Nigerian senator wanted in the U.S. on drug trafficking charges lost his seat Friday following a tribunal ruling that his election was flawed.
Buruji Kashamu will no longer represent the southwest Ogun East senatorial district in the country's upper legislative house.
The election tribunal in its decision held at least 37,008 of the total 99,540 votes credited to Kashamu in the country's March 28 parliamentary election as invalid because of irregularities committed during the exercise.
The court then ordered that a rerun ballot be held in 110 polling units in Kashamu's Ogun east senatorial district within 90 days.
Kashamu, who ran on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, now had 75,856 lawful votes compared to his closest rival Dapo Abiodun of the ruling All Progressive Congress, whose votes the court said stood at 70,677.
Justice Tobi Ebimowei, chairman of the tribunal, said that Kashamu could not be declared a winner with just 5,179 margin votes.
The ruling is subject to appeal.
Kashamu is wanted in the United States on alleged drug trafficking charges related to a 1998 case. A local court has restrained the government from extraditing him as requested by Washington.

I can't. Unless they're cut up into steaks etc.
The first Long March 6 rocket was successfully launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre late last month with a multipayload of 20 small satellites, according to state broadcaster CCTV and the People's Liberation Army's mouthpiece, the PLA Daily.
About a week later, on September 29, the official Science and Technology Daily reported that a Second Artillery Corps battalion had launched a midnight full-flight test of a strategic missile. The test proved that the strategic missile force could now operate the entire chain of the C4ISR â computerised command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance - systems that the US military uses.
"The launch of the Long March 6 will definitely help President Xi Jinping increase his bargaining power on security issues when dealing with US President Barack Obama," said defence policy specialist He Qisong of the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
"The launch will send a message to the US that the PLA now is capable of breaking its ballistic missile defence system in Asia, because the multipayload technology can also be used on the DF-41 [long-range nuclear missile]."
Macau-based military observer Antony Wong Dong said the Long March 6 technology could also be used on the JL-3, China's third-generation nuclear submarine-launched ballistic missile.
The DF-41, which the Pentagon has described as China's most powerful weapon, has an estimated 12,000km range and can carry up to 10 warheads. The DF-41 and JL-3 combined could carry up to 20 warheads, hitting as many different targets. MIRV warheads do complicate Missile defense. Looks like a job for laser defense. China would have to understand that the USA has vast experience with MIRVs and that China would be on the receiving end of our Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missiles in an exchange.

The shield defense was never about taking out a mass launch. It was about taking out a few here and there. The deterrent to the Chinese 'gambit' is having someone in the WH who wouldn't hesitate to counter launch an equally, if not greater, devastating reply.

The left's gripe against missile defense is always the same. "It's not PERFECT!" What is?
