[Tolo News] Security forces launched a long-awaited house-to-house search operation of residential homes in Kunduz city in a bid to flush out bad boys, officials reported.
TOLOnews correspondent Sharif Amiry -- who is embedded with the security forces -- reported that scores of houses in different areas have been cleared of forces of Evil -- who seized the city last Monday.
Several government facilities that were over run by Taliban assailants have also been retaken, Amiry reported. However he said landmines placed by the Taliban in these facilities are still a big threat.
"We have launched our search operation and the enemies are fleeing the area because they cannot confront us," a Kunduz police officer said, noting that about 80 percent of Police District (PD) four of the city has been cleared.
So far 13 armed Taliban holy warriors have been jugged You have the right to remain silent... during the search operation, he continued.
Meanwhile, ...back at the palazzo, Don Smilzo looked for an avenue of escape. The only window opened a hundred feet above the moat. The nearest of the hired assassins hold a bloody axe.
The window was looking better all the time.... residents voiced their concerns about the ongoing battle in their city.
They called on the government to accelerate their operations and clear the area of holy warriors as soon as possible.
"See our house is totally destroyed. We have no food and no water. Everywhere you look are bullets," a resident of Kunduz said. He also said he has lost one of his family members in the ongoing battle.
The city has however not been completely cleared of bad boys, reports Amiry. The battle is still ongoing in some areas.
Insurgents have been reportedly pushed back to the outskirts of the city and Chawk-e-Kunduz, the main traffic circle, is under control of government forces.
The center of the city's is back to normal, with many shops open.

[Al Ahram] The Egyptian armed forces announced on Wednesday the commencement of the second phase of the army's latest operation "Martyr's Right" in North Sinai in the cities of Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah, and Arish.
"Martyr's Right" is the largest and most comprehensive operation aimed at rooting out and killing holy warriors in North Sinai since the group affiliated with ISIS mounted their largest attack in months on Egypt's security forces in July.
According to Al-Ahram Arabic news website, the second stage, which deliberately coincides with the 42nd anniversary of Egypt's victory in the 6 October War,
...they really do believe that. There's a 6 October street, 6 October businesses of all sorts, 6 October City in what used to be 6 October governate, probably sons lovingly called to dinner with "6 October, you get your tail in here now!"
includes the commencement of numerous development projects and planned execution of reconstructions in North Sinai in the cities of Sheikh Zuweid, Arish, and Rafah, among others.
The armed forces also announced the dispatch of a convoy loaded with medical supplies and construction materials, as well as food for the people of Sinai.
Forces are preparing for the construction of the new town of Rafah, which will include 1200 housing units as well as a number of hospitals and schools.
The second stage of "Martyr's Right" includes plans to build 27 water desalination plants as well as water tanks and new roads.
North Sinai, which borders Israel and the Paleostinian Gazoo Strip, is a stronghold of Islamist Death Eater group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, which pledged its allegiance to ISIS in 2014.

Sorry - wrong demographics. And they never provided monetary incentive.
[Jpost] Four Arab men were wounded Friday morning in Dimona in a stabbing attack carried out by a Jewish terrorist for nationalist reasons.
The attacks began at about 9 am, when police reported finding a Bedouin man stabbed on a street in the city, in moderate condition. The victim managed to give police a description of the attacker, and shortly thereafter police arrested a local Jewish man, who was taken into custody without incident and is currently being questioned.
Within the hour, Negev police reported a separate stabbing, with three additional victims, two of which managed to make it to the local police station to seek help. What goes around... Not that I don't expect almost everybody---including some, otherwise, sane Israelis---not to be shocked & ashamed
[Ynet] Massive security planned for Friday after string of terror attacks wounding seven in Tel Aviv, Afula, Jerusalem, and Kiryat Arba.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat urged residents licensed to carry weapons to carry them, as violence spiked in the city over the past few weeks.
IDF's Judea and Samaria Division has been preparing unprecedented security for Friday out of concern that noon prayers will result in rioting of thousands of Paleostinians in the West Bank. Thousands of troops will be placed along roads and flashpoints, while IDF officers and Paleostinian security apparatuses coordinate their response.
Paleostinians have designated Friday a "Day of Rage" amid ongoing violence. Just on Thursday, seven Israelis were maimed by attacks, while police clashed with Paleostinian protesters, resulting in injuries on both sides.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israeli security forces rubbed out a Paleostinian during festivities in east Jerusalem Thursday on their way to the home of a man accused of an earlier stabbing attack, medics said.
Just like that? How awful!
The Paleostinian was shot in the chest and fatally maimed at the Shuafat refugee camp in annexed east Jerusalem, according to the Red Islamic Thingy and hospital sources.
The incident followed days of unrest, including rioting in east Jerusalem and the West Bank as well as a spate of stabbing attacks targeting Israelis.
Over the last week, four Israelis and seven Paleostinians have been killed in the violence.
Four of the Paleostinians were killed after they allegedly attacked Israelis. Three others were killed during festivities with Israeli security forces, including a 13-year-old near Bethlehem.
Waitaminit -- they deserved it?
The unrest and violence have sparked fears of a broader Paleostinian uprising and warnings of a third intifada.
The suspect from Shuafat, Subhi Abu Khalifah, 19, was accused of stabbing a 25-year-old Jewish man in Jerusalem, leaving him at death's door.
Oh. Never mind. Al Arabiya buried the lede again.

Moo.
A new and disturbing danger has apparently arisen in the Middle East, and the Russian military is on it. It appears that cows have begun aligning themselves with terrorist organizations, and Russian President Vladimir Putin's forces are taking the steps necessary to shut down this bovine threat before things get any worse.
How else to translate the events of the past several days?
Shortly after Russian warships in the Caspian Sea launched a reported 26 cruise missiles toward Syria on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu appeared on television to celebrate the success of the attack.
Shoigu announced that all 26 of the missiles struck within three meters of their intended targets, and he claimed that no civilian buildings were damaged.
In televised comments, Putin added, "The fact that we have launched precision-guided weapons from the Caspian at a range of around 1,500 km and hit all the targets indicates the good status of defense industry and the good skills of the personnel."
However, reports began to trickle out on Thursday that perhaps not all of the Russian missiles had actually made it into Syria. A report from the town of Takab, which is directly under the flight path of the Russian missiles as revealed by maps released by the Kremlin, detailed how a massive explosion at around 6 a.m. rocked the rural area on Wednesday.
The "unidentified flying object" exploded several hundred meters outside Takab, close enough to shake buildings and frighten residents.
It also killed "several head of cattle," according to the report.
On Thursday, U.S. intelligence officials told reporters that as many as four of the Russian missiles had crash landed in rural Iran. However, there was immediate pushback from both Russia and from Iran, which has joined the Kremlin in backing Assad with troops and weapons.
Iranian General Musa Kamali told the Kremlin-run News site Sputnik that reports of Russian missiles going off-target were "blatant lies" and part of a Western propaganda campaign.
The Kremlin stuck to its claim that all 26-missile attacks were successful.
"No matter how unpleasant and unexpected for our colleagues in the Pentagon and Langley was yesterday's high-precision strike on Islamic State infrastructure in Syria, the fact remains that all missiles launched from our ships have found their targets," said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov. "Quick! Me must retask several high-quality satellites to prove the Russians are lying! We need to show the world pictures of innocent cow-guts splattered all over the place! Get PETA on the horn now!"
So if Russia is indeed only targeting terrorists, as it has said, and if no missiles went off target, that can lead to only one conclusion: the cows were terrorists.
The U.S. and its allies haven't many kind words for Vladimir Putin these days, but he should at least be thanked for identifying this new threat and taking prompt and decisive action to neutralize it.

Wonder how easily Russia's cruise missiles could be spooked, and by what. Also wonder what platform launched them. There is one old destroyer and two even older frigates in the Caspian, so ship-launch is problematic. There's always the "Caspian Sea Monster", which was designed to launch cruise missiles, but which hasn't been in the water in ten years or more. If they were indeed launched from the Caspian, they were launched from ground or air launch platforms.

Islamic State group fighters advanced Friday to the outskirts of Syria's second city Aleppo, despite 10 days of Russian air strikes that Moscow says are aimed at routing the jihadists.
Moscow announced on Friday that its raids had killed several hundred IS fighters and hit more than 60 "terrorist targets" in Syria over the past 24 hours.
Deputy head of the Russian General Staff Lieutenant General Igor Makushev told reporters that "Su-34M and SU-24SM warplanes hit 60 terrorist targets".
He said Russia had bombed a command post in IS stronghold Raqa, killing two senior field commanders and some 200 fighters, according to intercepted radio communications.
Strikes on Aleppo killed "some 100 militants", and other raids struck command posts and training camps in Latakia, Hama and Idlib.
Western governments say the vast majority of Russian strikes have targeted rebel groups other than IS in an attempt to defend President Bashar al-Assad's rule.
And despite the Russian raids, IS militants have reached their closest position yet to Aleppo in northern Syria, a monitoring group reported.
"Dozens of combatants were killed on both sides" as IS drove out rebels from nearby localities as well as a military base, said Rami Abdel Rahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The jihadists are now just over 10 kilometres (six miles) from the northern edges of Aleppo city and three kilometres (two miles) from pro-regime forces positioned at the Sheikh Najjar industrial zone.
"IS has never been so close to the city of Aleppo, and this is its biggest advance towards" the country's pre-war commercial capital, Abdel Rahman said.
- Iranian general killed -
Control of Aleppo is divided between rebel groups in the east and government forces, bolstered by pro-regime militias, in the west.
IS has not had a presence in the city, but the jihadist group on Friday boasted it had "reached the gates of Aleppo".
"IS announced several times that it would launch an offensive on Aleppo without doing it. They were waiting for the right moment and took advance of Russian strikes on other rebels to advance," said jihadism analyst Romain Caillet.
Thomas Pierret, an expert on Islam in Syria, said the US-led coalition bombing IS in Syria was "not very active" in Aleppo, and that Russia's strikes there had hit mostly rebels, allowing IS to push forward.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced one of its senior commanders was killed by IS in the Aleppo area on Thursday, without giving the exact circumstances.
A Guards statement said General Hossein Hamedani had played an "important role... reinforcing the front of Islamic resistance against the terrorists" but was killed "during an advisory mission".
The Observatory said Hamedani was the highest-ranking Iranian casualty of the Syrian conflict.
It said he was killed near Kweyris, a military airport in Aleppo province under siege by IS.
Shiite-dominated Iran is a staunch ally of Assad, sending Guards forces and military advisers to aid him against Sunni rebels seeking his overthrow.
Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah has done much of the fighting to prop up Assad's army, though the commander of the Revolutionary Guards foreign wing, Qassem Soleimani, is said to be heavily involved in strategic planning.
- Moscow denies missile crash -
French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Friday that "80 to 90 percent" of Russian strikes in Syria were aimed at propping up Assad.
He was speaking after French warplanes carried out new strikes overnight on IS targets in Syria, where Paris launched its first raids on September 27.
According to the Observatory, 16 IS jihadists including three child soldiers were killed in the raids which hit "a training camp" on the southern edges of Raqa city.
The Russian air war has provided cover for Assad's ground troops, who have lost swathes of the country to jihadists and rebel groups since 2011.
The campaign has been critical for the regime's fight in Sahl al-Ghab, a strategic plain in Hama province bordering both the regime's coastal bastion of Latakia and the rebel stronghold of Idlib province.
Syria's army announced a "vast offensive" on Thursday, advancing near Sahl al-Ghab from both the Hama and Latakia fronts with Russian air support.
Moscow denied a US claim that four Syria-bound Russian cruise missiles fired from the Caspian Sea had crashed in Iran on Wednesday.
"Any professional knows that during these operations we always fix the target before and after impact. All our cruise missiles hit their target," spokesman General Igor Konashenkov said.
Iran declined to confirm the claim by a US official, who did not provide details about where the missiles might have come down or if they caused any damage.

So let me get this straight. The Russian's bombed the non-IS jihads to clear the way for ISIS to attack AlpoAleppo? Was that part of the plan?

Islamic State group jihadists have killed a senior commander in Iran's Revolutionary Guards in Syria, the elite branch of the Iranian military said Friday.
General Hossein Hamedani was killed on Thursday by IS "during an advisory mission" in the northern region of Aleppo, a Guards statement said.
Hamedani had been playing an "important role... reinforcing the front of Islamic resistance against the terrorists", it added.
Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, described Hamedani's death as "a huge loss" in the fight against jihadist groups in Syria.
Quoted by the IRNA news agency, he said the loss would be "avenged" and that this would lead to the "complete destruction" of these groups.
Shiite-dominated Iran is a staunch ally of President Bashar al-Assad, sending Guards forces and military advisers to aid him against Sunni Muslim rebels seeking his overthrow.
Lebanon's Shiite militia Hezbollah has done much of the fighting to prop up the Syrian army, though the commander of the Revolutionary Guards' foreign wing, Qassem Soleimani, is said to be heavily involved in guiding military strategy.
[Rudaw] At least 40 people, including whole families, have beat feet from ISIS over the past two days and reached the Peshmerga frontlines in southern Kurdistan, Aras Haso Mirkhan, deputy commander of the of the Makhmour-Gwer front told Rudaw on Thursday.
"The Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... gunnies are suffering due to the lack of weapons and they are forcing citizens to join them in the fight, this made many young men want to escape," Mirkhan said.
At 2am on Thursday, 11 people who had escaped ISIS -held Mishar village on the Makhmour-Gwer frontline submitted themselves to Peshmerga.
Mirkhan said the 11 people are not ISIS murderous Moslems, but people who had escaped out of fear of the organization.
On October 1, US-led coalition Arclight airstrikes destroyed ISIS bases in Makhmour, killing more than 50 murderous Moslems, a military source told Rudaw.
Makhmour, in disputed lands south of Erbil, was captured by Islamic State and occupied for three days earlier this year. The area was recaptured by Kurdish forces backed by coalition Arclight airstrikes.
ISIS positions are less than 21 km away from Makmour, prompting Peshmerga forces to have strengthened their security measures.

[RUDAW.NET] Two Zargali villagers whose families were devastated by Turkish Arclight airstrikes in August have been released by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) after two days of interrogations.
Soran Omar, chairman of Kurdistan region's parliamentary Human Rights Committee, delivered the update to Rudaw on Wednesday, but added, "We have received complaints that PKK kidnapped children around the ages of 14 to 15, and they are not letting them see their parents."
Omar condemned the Kurdish guerrillas in northern Iraq for detaining villagers on allegations of making anti-PKK remarks to the media. Salim Khider and Jegir Jabar were released, said Omar, but the village leader, Ismail Abdulla, remains in detention.
"We are trying our best to rescue him," Omar said of Abdulla.
"We are very disappointed by the PKK's behavior because they do not have the authority to detain citizens in Kurdistan regional territory," Omar said.
"If they have anything on anyone they need to ask the KRG government offices."
Eight non-combatants were killed in Zargali on August 1 in an Arclight airstrike launched by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... that leveled most of the village. Ankara has maintained that the strikes targeted PKK fighters who operate bases near the village.
A scathing Amnesia Amnesty International report pointed to several human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... violations by Turkey. The investigation concluded that there were no PKK checkpoints inside the village, rendering the Arclight airstrikes unlawful and inhumane.

I assume that the US is doing its own independent BDA. I wonder how accurate the Russian's are? Or are they dropping more tonnage so that a lack of accuracy is less important? Or are they missing?

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Syrian army, backed by Russian air strikes, fought heavy battles with turbans for control of a hilltop close to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Light of the Alawites... 's coastal heartland, a monitor and rebels said on Thursday.
The fighting was centered around Jub al Ahmar, a highland area in Latakia province which if captured would allow the army to more effectively pound rebel positions from the Ghab Plain that it overlooks, said Rami Abdulrahman, the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
"Fighting has been intensifying in the vicinity of the strategic Jub al Ahmar heights with some progress by the army but no decisive gains so far," Abdulrahman told Rooters.
The army announced on Thursday it had extended a major offensive to the Plain area whose capture from rebel groups, including al-Qaeda's Nusra Front would help secure Assad's coastal heartlands and could provide a platform to drive the rebels back from other areas.
The rebels thrust into the area in late July after seizing much of the northwestern province of Idlib.
Rebel sources also said the army aided by Russian jets shelled the bully boy held town of Salma, which located northeast of Latakia and is a major frontline between rebels and government forces.
"This area is shelled daily but we have not seen this intensity before with heavy mortars and artillery and Russian bombing of our positions," said Abu Ibrahim al Hifnawi, a rebel from Ahrar al Sham bully boy group.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Lebanese security forces fired tear gas and water canon to break up an anti-government protest in Beirut on Thursday, and the country's fractious leaders postponed talks aimed at resolving a political crisis that is feeding public discontent.
Anger at Leb's government has fuelled repeated protests in recent months. Discontent with widely perceived corruption and incompetence came to a head in July when the government failed to agree a solution to a trash disposal crisis and piles of garbage were left to fester in the streets.
Protesters threw projectiles including rocks at a line of riot police blocking the way to the Lebanese parliament in Beirut's commercial district. Live TV footage showed at least one injured riot policeman on the ground.
Some three dozen people were taken to hospital suffering from suffocation as a result of tear gas, medics said. Six coppers were also maimed, a security official said.
The Lebanese government grouping rival factions has struggled to take even basic decisions since it was formed last year. Leb has also been without a president for more than a year in the absence of a deal on who should take the post.

[ARA] The myrmidon group of Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) executed three Assyrian captives who were kidnapped earlier during attacks on Christian villages near Tel Temir town in Hasakah province, in northeastern Syria, according to a footage published by the group on Wednesday.
The Assyrian Network for Human Rights reported that the three victims, who were dressed in orange during the execution, were identified as Dr. Abdul Massih Noya and Ashour Abraham from the village of Tel Jaseera, and Bassam Michael from the village of Tel Shamiram.
ISIS gunnies shot the three Assyrian abductees in the head.
The Assyrian network condemned the execution of the "innocent Assyrians" by ISIS myrmidons.
"The international community should bear its responsibility towards the Syrian crisis. This country is suffering from unbearable violence and terrorism," it said.
"This terrorist crime is a stigma on the forehead of the international community, which has failed so far to eliminate terrorism and tyranny in this war-torn country."
The AHRN said those purportedly executed were among 187 Assyrians held as hostages by Islamic State.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said ISIS has kidnapped dozens of Christians, including 45 women, 19 children and 11 families from the city of Al-Qaryatain in Homs province. The groups said "hundreds of others" were still missing.
