Taliban free 350 inmates and kill police in Afghan jail raid
[CNN] A day after the Afghan army killed dozens of Taliban fighters in military operations, a Taliban suicide squad struck back.

The snuffies raided a jail in eastern Afghanistan early Monday, setting 350 inmates free, a provincial official said. They killed four coppers and maimed another seven in their attack.

The Taliban fighters detonated an explosives-laden vehicle in front of the jail in the city of Ghazni, and fired rocket-propelled grenades. Then six Death Eaters dressed in Afghan police uniforms raided the jail, said Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, deputy governor of Ghazni province.

Police returned fire, killing at least three holy warriors, Ahmadi said.

Taliban front man Zabiullah Mujahid grabbed credit for the attack. Ten suicide fighters carried it out, three of whom died, Mujahid said.

In a statement, the Taliban said that the majority of the freed prisoners were either Taliban capos and fighters or Taliban members' relatives.

The Afghan Interior Ministry said more than a third of the escapees had been charged with national and international security crimes. Two-thirds had been charged with criminal offenses.

Arms seized in Morocco 'came from Algeria'
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Arms seized during a swoop on an alleged krazed killer cell entered the country from Algeria, a Moroccan security official charged on Monday.

"Those placed in durance vile
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
were awaiting the arrival of a Syrian expert to train them in making explosives they planned to use against public figures and places," Abdelhak El Khayyam, head of Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation, told AFP.

"The weapons came from Algeria," he said.

The interior ministry said at the weekend it had dismantled a "terrorist" cell, arresting five people in different towns across the kingdom.

It said they were also in possession of weapons.

The cell, reportedly calling itself Soldiers of the Caliphate in Morocco, was a splinter group of the Algerian krazed killer Jund al-Khilafa organization, according to Khayyam.

Authorities in Rabat have moved to counter what is seen as a growing jihadist threat by imposing heavier punishments -- including up to 10 years in jail -- for those found guilty of involvement in terrorism-related activities.

The statement said the five Saudis were killed in southern Najran province.

Yemen troops press campaign towards rebel-held Sanaa
[AlAhram] Saudi-backed loyalist forces in Yemen pressed an offensive against Shia Houthi

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. rebels on Monday, the second day of a major campaign aimed at retaking the capital a year after its fall.

Fighters loyal to exiled President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi launched their much anticipated attack against the Iranian-backed rebels and their allies in the key province of Marib. Oil-rich Marib lies east of Sanaa and has been the scene of heavy festivities between the northern-based rebels and powerful tribes allied with Hadi.

The escalation comes as the exiled government backed out of a proposed new round of UN-brokered peace talks, insisting that rebels should withdraw from captured territory.

"The aim is to cut the supply routes of the Houthis," a military official told AFP.

Out of their Al-Aber base in nearby Hadramawt province, government troops have moved towards four rebel footholds in northwest Marib, on the route to Sanaa.

At a landing zone in Safer camp, in Marib, an AFP correspondent reported fully-armed coalition Apache helicopters taking off and returning, as a convoy of armoured vehicles and personnel carriers headed to the front.

Coalition forces have also deployed Patriot missile defence systems, Yemeni military sources said, following a September 4 missile attack on Safer that killed 67 coalition troops.

Gulf Arab troops from the Saudi-led coalition have joined the battle on the ground to evict rebels from Marib, while coalition warplanes have since March pounded bad boy positions across Yemen.

The United Arab Emirates said its troops were taking part in the latest operations and announced the death of one of its soldiers.

"Our forces have launched military operations in Marib, achieving progress on the ground and pushing back the Houthi militiamen, as part of operations conducted by the Arab coalition," a UAE military official said late Sunday.

"During these operations, one of our soldiers has fallen martyr," said the official, whose country lost 52 soldiers in the Safer missile strike and has vowed to avenge their deaths.

The coalition launched its air campaign to support the exiled Hadi after the rebels advanced on the southern port city of Aden, where he had taken refuge after escaping house arrest in the capital.

, pushed the rebels out of Aden in July and have since recaptured four other southern provinces.

The military gains were made following months of fierce air strikes against positions of the Houthis and troops loyal to ousted president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

, who has side with the rebels.

Air strikes on Monday were carried out mainly in support of the ground offensive in Marib, targeting Houthi strongholds in the southern part of the province.

Saudi Arabia said earlier that five of its soldiers had died on its southern frontier with Yemen in what appeared to be the largest single military loss in the border region since March.

Shelling and border skirmishes have killed at least 60 people in Saudi Arabia.

Overall, more than 4,500 people, many of them civilians, have been killed in Yemen's conflict since March, according to the World Health Organisation.

Yemeni Army, Popular Committees Inflict Heavy Losses upon Saudi-led Invaders
[ALMANAR.LB] The Yemeni army and the popular committees inflicted heavy losses upon the Saudi-led forces who have been engaged in the so-called "restoring Sanaa" offensive in Maarib.

Heavy festivities have been taking place in Maarib province where the Saudi-led coalition forces are pressing to seize the capital Sanaa, Yemeni military sources said late on Sunday.

Dozens of the offensive forces have been killed and injured, the sources said, adding that among the casualties were Saudis, Emiratis, Bahrainis and Qataris.
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
"The coalition forces were screaming as they were calling for help," the sources said referring to the heavy losses inflicted upon the invaders.

"Dozens of the coalition vehicles were destroyed as the courageous fighters of the army and the popular committees were repelling the offensive," the sources added.

The Grand Turk
After curfew, troubled Kurdish district in Turkey resembles ‘battlefield’
[Rudaw] Kurdish district of Cizre in southeastern The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
resembles a "battlefield," media reports said, after a second curfew in 10 days was lifted on Monday.

The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) said that 22 non-combatants were killed in Cizre, where the government imposed a curfew and sent in troops as it continues its war against the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), reignited in late July after a two-year ceasefire.

A curfew imposed on September 4 was lifted on Saturday, only to be placed back Sunday.

Turkish newspapers on Monday published online photographs after the lifting of the curfew.

The Today's Zaman newspaper said the operation in Cizre had "left behind a scene resembling a battlefield, displaying traces of days-long festivities" between the military and PKK.

"Hundreds of empty cartridges scattered in the streets and devastated buildings can be seen in the initial photos," the daily reported.

It said residents ventured out to stock up on groceries and check on their businesses for the first time on Saturday.

"Strict measures were still in place in key areas of the district. Armored vehicles patrolled the streets of Cizre, just north of the Syrian border and close to the border with Iraq, and security forces set up checkpoints on the town's outskirts," the newspaper said.

Interim Minister of European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Affairs Ali Haydar Konca was reported as saying over the weekend that more than 20 civilians had been killed during the military operations, which reportedly included heavy weapons.

"The extent of the destruction in Cizre has been revealed by the fact that more than 20 non-combatants were killed, that approximately 50 were maimed, and that many houses were destroyed," he said.

"Even during times of war, burials are ensured and the injured are allowed to be treated in hospitals. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
this was not the case in Cizre," he revealed. "This country does not deserve to witness images of children's bodies being kept in freezers to prevent them from decaying."

Communications, including mobile phone and Internet networks, were restored on Saturday.

There were long queues of people at bakeries and shops, and television footage showed pock-marked buildings and wrecked vehicles in the streets.

FIA arrests three human traffickers from outside US embassy in Islamabad
[DAWN] The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) incarcerated
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
three alleged human traffickers from outside the US embassy in the federal capital on Monday, FIA sources said.

Officials acted on intelligence-based information and arrested three suspected human smugglers, namely Adnan Shahid, Nadeem Bhatti and Dil Avez, they said.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
a fourth suspect named Kashif Gill managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...
FIA Director Inam Ghani confirmed the arrests and told DawnNews that the accused used to prepare fake documents in the name of a bogus Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based company called North Star.

They used to create false travel documents presenting people as students going on a cultural exchange programme, who after entering the US never returned, Ghani said.

"They have sent a large number of such fake students to the US, even today they were attempting to get the documents cleared for 30 more 'students'," said the FIA official.

"We nabbed them when they were busy submitting applications for US visas on fake papers at the US embassy."

India violates LoC ceasefire despite recent promises of peace: ISPR
[DAWN] The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the Indian border security forces had again violated the Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire on Monday, as its troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Nakial sector in Sialkot.

Pak troops befittingly responded to Indian firing and silenced the enemy's artillery, an ISPR statement said.

The skirmish at the border resumed only a day after military officials from Pakistain and India met to discuss the aggravating situation along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) as military observers from the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...

Pak and Indian border security forces had agreed on Friday to maintain restraint on their disputed Kashmire frontier, as they sought to defuse tensions that have been heightened in recent months by bully boy attacks that each side blames the other for.

Multan blast leaves 10 dead, 58 injured
[DAWN] MULTAN: Ten people were killed and 58 others injured in a blast at Vehari Chowk here on Sunday.

Regional Police Officer Tariq Masood Yasin told Dawn that one or more persons appeared to be carrying the explosives. It was not a suicide kaboom, he said. A forensics team was collecting evidence, he added.

According to him, eight people, including the person(s) carrying the kaboom, were killed and 58 injured.

Rescue 1122 said 10 people were killed.

The bodies and the injured were taken to the Nishtar Hospital.

A number of vehicles and shops were damaged.

District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal said it certainly was a terrorist attack, adding that the body of the suspected bomber had been found at the place. He also said it was not a suicide attack because such attacks usually had their targets and so far police could not find one.

"It was possibly an accidental blast and the turbans wanted to use the kaboom to target some other place or people," he said.

RPO Tariq Masood said police did not find any suicide jacket or its parts. "We are collecting fingerprints and taking photographs of the dead and the injured. These would be examined to trace or identify the culprits," he said, adding that the injured were being questioned.

Nishtar Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ashiq Malik said nine bodies and 56 injured had been brought to the hospital. The condition of 12 of the injured was critical.

Agencies add: According to CPO Azhar Ikram, a motorcyclist carrying the kaboom collided with a rickshaw which caused the blast.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Abdul Jabbar said a cycle of violence, a car and six rickshaws were destroyed.

Dr Ashiq Malik said 15 people had been discharged after first aid.

The CPO said police initially thought the CNG cylinder installed in the rickshaw had detonated, but bomb disposal personnel later found traces of explosives.

He said police had launched an investigation and were trying to identify the passengers in the rickshaw in an effort to find out where the explosives had come from and why these were being transported.

Four suspects killed in 'encounters'
[DAWN] The Pakistain Rangers, Sindh, on Sunday claimed to have killed four suspected gangsters in two 'encounters' in Lyari
...one of the eighteen constituent towns of the city of Karachi. It is the smallest town by area in the city but also the most densely populated. Lyari has few schools, substandard hospitals, a poor water system, limited infrastructure, and broken roads. It is a stronghold of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. Ubiquitous gang activity and a thriving narcotics industry make Lyari one of the most disturbed places in Karachi, which is really saying a lot....
and Taiser Town, a spokesperson for the paramilitary force said.

The force conducted an intelligence-based targeted operation in Lyari on suspected hideouts of gang warfare suspects at around 2.30am.
*ring ring* "This is Mahmoud the Weasel's Pakistani cousin, calling in with targetting intelligence for Lieutenant Siddique. Listen carefully, I will say this only once."
"What? What'd you say?"
"Okay, listen, I will only say this twice..."
When the Rangers sneaked into the hideout located at Adam Tea Store, the suspected gangsters opened indiscriminate fire
"Hark! My Spidey Sense (TM) is tingling! Open indiscriminate firing, lads!"
*Bang! Bang! Bangetty-bang!*
on the troops and tried to flee into the narrow lanes to escape arrest.
"Curley-toed slippers don't fail us now!"
The Rangers retaliated and killed two of them
"Rosebud!" "Rosebud!"
while other suspects escaped into the lanes taking advantage of darkness.
...as if they had never been.
The dear departed were later identified as Adnan Baloch and Sajid Ganga.
Those are not good Pakistani names, surely.
"They belonged to the Uzair Baloch-led gang and were operating in old Golimar area," said the spokesperson.
See? Dirty, uncivilized tribals who deserve whatever happens to them. Or so the good ladies in the Pakistani country clubs say. The good ladies are dreadfully old fashioned about such things.
"They were wanted in number of murders, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes cases."
Wanted on twelve systems, in short, not to mention a couple of highways and byways of the spaceways.
The force claimed to have seized weapons from their possession.
A shutter gun and four rounds of bullet, to be precise.
In the other encounter on late Saturday night, the Rangers killed two suspects on the outskirts of the metropolis.
"They're dead, Jim."
"Dr. Quincy, how do you always know!"
"Sucking chest wound, Sam. Does it every time. Now stack 'em in the back with the others."
Acting on a tip-off,
Mahmoud the Weasel's Pakistani cousin has two sons and a daughter who need university fees, doncha know.
the paramilitary force conducted a targeted raid
"Only kill the bad guys standing on the X-marked spot, lads."
"Got it, Sarge. Shoot the X."
in Taiser Town. On seeing the personnel,
"Hark, my Spidey Sense is tingling!"
the suspects started firing in their attempt to escape.
"Run and shoot, lads! Aieeee!"
In the ensuing encounter, two suspects were killed.
"Aieeee!" "Aieeee!"
"Two more for you, Dr. Quincy." *thump thump*

Law enforcers liberate Taliban 'no-go zones' in Karachi
[DAWN] With a machine-gun in the back seat, his foot on the accelerator and wearing "Top Gun" style sunglasses, Azfar Mahesar pushes deeper into the heart of one of Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
's "Talibanised" areas.

"This used to be a war zone, but we have liberated it," says the slightly chubby policeman with pride as his vehicle races through the Pak city of 20 million.

Over the past few years, one word has been on everyone's lips here: "Talibanisation."

If the remote mountains that straddle the Pakistain and Afghanistan border have been the krazed killer group's playground, Karachi, Pakistain's economic hub on the Arabian Sea, has been the myrmidons' hideout and cash-cow.

The Taliban dug deep into areas populated by ethnic Pashtuns, creating virtual "no-go zones" and terrorising the local population with extortion and kidnappings for ransom to provide funding for their krazed killers.

But officials say that has all changed now.

"Talibanisation in Karachi has died down," says Mahesar, a former soldier turned senior police officer in the most dangerous, western part of the city.

"I can say very confidently 70 to 80 per cent are purged. There are a few remnants in Karachi but they are not as capable of coming back with the efficiency that they had a year or so ago," he adds.

Today, coppers wearing flak jackets are advancing deep into the bowels of one of the remaining "no-go zones", through dug-up streets and up rocky hills that mark the city's western edge.

"This was a local Taliban HQ," one says as he stands before a pulverised hovel.

2 hurt, 9 arrested in second day of Temple Mount clashes
[IsraelTimes] Policeman injured in confrontation on the Mount, while Jewish man is attacked at Chain Gate; both treated at the scene

Two people -- a policeman and a young Jewish man -- were hurt Monday morning as festivities resumed at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem for the second consecutive day. Nine people were also tossed in the slammer
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
Five people were detained on the Mount after masked Moslem protesters attacked police with stones and metal rods, wounding the policeman, Israel's Channel 2 television reported. The policeman was treated at the site.

In a separate incident, protesters attacked the Jewish man at the Chain Gate, at the entrance to the Temple Mount. The man also received medical attention at the scene, Channel 2 said. Two people were arrested. Another two were detained after trying to attack police forces.

Police said Monday morning that, "As the police entered the compound masked youths fled inside the mosque and threw stones at the force." Masked protesters also attacked police metal bars before fleeing into the mosque, Army Radio said.

Police said they entered the hilltop compound to ensure that Moslem youths massing there did not harass Jews or tourists during the morning visiting hours. The site is sacred to both Jews and Moslems.

The Monday festivities follow a day of violence at the site Sunday, with security forces seizing pipe bombs in an operation carried out hours before Jews prepared to celebrate the new year. The Shin Bet security service alerted police to the cache, apparently an effort by Paleostinians to stock up on bombs, flares and rocks ahead of an organized riot.

Police said Monday that visits to the site went ahead as planned. Non-Moslems are allowed to visit the compound, but Jews are forbidden from praying there.

Police chief Bentzi Sau vowed Sunday that protesters would not be allowed to threaten security of visitors to the site, while Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan warned that access to the site could be affected by the discovery of the pipe bombs.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet Tuesday evening with senior political and defense officials to discuss Israel's response to the outbreak of violence.
Ynet adds:
The announcement came several hours after a Jewish man died from wounds sustained when rocks were thrown at his car. Spokeswoman Luba Samri said the man was injured early Monday as his vehicle was attacked while returning from a meal marking Rosh Hashanah. She said the identity of the attackers is unknown but they are likely from a nearby Arab neighborhood.

Hezbollah, Syrian Army Detonate Tunnel for Terrorists in Zabadani
[ALMANAR.LB] Hezbollah fighters and the Syrian army forces detonated on Monday a tunnel between the region of Madaya and its plain adjacent to the plain area of Zabadani city on the border with Leb.
Goodness knows the Hizb'allah boys ought to know what to look for, tunnelwise. Weren't they were the ones who taught the Gazans how to dig?
The 500-meter long tunnel was built by the takfiri

armed bandidos murderous Moslems operating in the city and its environs.

Sources told Al-Manar TV that the tunnel was used by terrorist operatives to smuggle weapons and supplies. It is linked to a building located near the main road west of Madaya.

Last week, Hezbollah and Syrian troops discovered a tunnel that was used for the same purpose by the takfiris to link Zabadani city to its plain area.

Discovering the terrorists' tunnels cuts off the road to provide them with weapons or gunnies.

Coalition air forces bomb ISIL on Turkey-Syria border
[Hurriyet Daily News] Coalition forces have launched an air operation on targets of the Islamic State

's Kilis province in Syria.

Aircraft from U.S.-led coalition forces bombed ISIL targets in the Bab and Rai regions in northern Syria, at a distance of 10 kilometers from Kilis early on Sep. 14.

The blasts caused fear and panic among residents of Kilis, while the smoke rising from the targets were monitored from Turkey. Security forces boosted measures at the border line.

Turkish jets joined the U.S.-led coalition in the fight against ISIL and hit targets in Syria for the first time on Aug. 28.

The Turkish jets took off from the Incirlik Air Base in the southern province of Adana, sources said, adding that the targets were ISIL positions to the north of Aleppo.

The operations came days after an ISIL advance in an area of northern Syria that Ankara and Washington have said they will keep clear of the jihadist group and place under the control of ostensibly moderate rebels. It marked the first time that Turkish jets entered Syrian airspace.

In Syrian Kurdish City, IS Suicide Car Bombings Kill 26
[ABCNEWS.GO] Two boom-mobileings, half an hour apart, killed 26 people on Monday in a predominantly Kurdish city in northeastern Syria, the country's state-owned media and activists reported, in an attack swiftly claimed by the Islamic State

group.

Among the victims of the kabooms in the city of Hassakeh were a woman and her two children and several Kurdish fighters, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Islamic State group said in a statement that its two jacket wallahs targeted a gathering of Kurdish fighters and pro-regime militias.

The bombers struck in two different Hassakeh neighborhoods. The state news agency SANA said at least 21 died in the bombing in the busy Mahatta neighborhood. Bodies were pulled from under the rubble of a collapsed building, the agency said, adding that the number of victims was likely to rise.

The second bomber detonated his explosives-laden vehicle in Khashman district on Hassakeh's northern outskirts, killing five people, including the woman and her children, SANA said.

Syrian state TV broadcast footage from the two-story building that collapsed in the al-Mahatta kaboom, which also left a large crater in the street. A man is seen holding a victim and weeping. The TV later said that authorities dismantled two other boom-mobiles in the province.

The Observatory, which has a network of activists on the ground, said those killed included 13 civilians, six Kurdish fighters from the local police force and seven pro-government militia members. The group said the first attack, in Khashman, targeted a Kurdish police force, while the second hit a base for a pro-government militia.

In a statement posted on social media, the Islamic State group said two of its fighters blew themselves up, one at in a graduation ceremony for Kurdish cadets and the other hit a base for the pro-government militia.

Hassakeh has been scene of repeated attacks by IS holy warriors. Syrian Kurdish fighters are largely in control of the city, which has pockets of government forces. IS snuffies have been battling the Kurdish forces and government troops in the province for months.
