[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan government slammed Pak officials for their remarks regarding the elimination of Haqqani Terrorist Network following military operations in tribal regions of Pakistain.
The Presidential Palace issued a statement after Pakistain's National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz ...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy... claimed that the terrorist network is no more operational in Pakistain and that they have shifted to Afghanistan.
The statement by the Presidential Palace stated "The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Afghanistan believes that one of the major differences between Afghanistan and Pakistain is regarding the presence of terrorist groups, specifically the Haqqani Network in Pak soil."
"The recent remarks by Pakistain's National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz, suggesting that the Haqqani Network has been decomposed following military operations, are repeated claims by Pak officials during the past one decade," the statement said.
The Palace insisted that documents and evidences shows that the network's leadership, commander and control, supportive infrastructure and sanctuaries are still operational in Pakistain.
The statement further added that the government of Afghanistan has repeatedly handed over evidences regarding the Haqqani Network operations in Pakistain and has urged the Pak government to take action.
"The International Community has also understands that the terrorist networks including the Haqqani Network are based in Pakistain," the statement said, adding that "The recent step by United States is an approval of Afghan government's stance after putting conditions on military aid to Pakistain which is subject to Islamabad's practical steps against terrorist groups including Haqqani Network."
The Palace warned that ignoring the issue by Pak will further weaken cooperation between the two nations to jointly fight terrorist and ensure peace and stability in the region.

[Tolo News] One of the suspected Haqqani members tossed in the clink Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! in Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... recently by the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) is believed to have been imprisoned in Pul-eCharkhi Prison under a false name for two years.
Documents uncovered by TOLOnews reveal that Israr Ahmad, an myrmidon leader, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2012 after being found to be in possession of explosives and boom jackets. He was however pardoned by former president Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai ... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use... last year and freed.
"I was recruited by the Taliban group four years ago through my cousin who was famous as Almas. Then I was arrested with explosives and boom jackets and I was sentenced to six years in prison," said Israr Ahmad.
"I spent two years and two months in Pul-e-Charkhi Prison and then I was released."
TOLOnews news hound, Tamim Hamid who visited Pul-e-Charkhi Prison, checked the list of names of prisoners over the past few years. He was not able to find Israr Ahmad's name but did find the fake name he was supposedly registered under.
According to the news hound, they found his name by searching for Ahmad's father's name and other details.
Prison officials also confirmed that Ahmad was released following a decree by Karzai, which he issued during his last days in office.
"Israr Ahmad aka Naeem or Qudratullah. Who is he and how could he beguile security forces by using two or three names? How was he included in the presidential decree in pardoning prisoners?" asked Rafiullah Bidar Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission front man.
"We want a complete justice process in this regard. The decision should be made justly in order to safeguard citizen's rights," he said.

No doubt a transfer of funds from Islamabad to an account in Geneva played a large part.
[ALMANAR.LB] Central African Republic's transitional government on Sunday adopted a new constitution that would limit future presidents to two terms in office as the country seeks to end more than a year of sectarian violence.
The new charter would limit the president's mandate to five years that can only be renewed once and cannot be prolonged for any reason, and would create a new senate to help govern.
The constitution, which will now be put to a public vote, also includes the creation of a special court to judge the most serious crimes.
"I urge the Central African people, when the time comes, to give strong backing to this new fundamental law to allow our country to get back on the path to a normal constitutional order," said Alexandre-Ferdinand Nguendet, chairman of the National Transitional Council.
The Central African Republic descended into bloodshed after a 2013 coup against longtime leader Francois Bozize unleashed a wave of violence, pitting Christian anti-Balaka militias against mostly MoslemSeleka ...a 'mainly' Moslem rebel force in the Central African Republic that overthrew the govt, imposed a regime of rapine and looting on the country's non-Moslem population, and was then tossed by France. They still exist, getting funding and weapons from somewhere or other, licking their wounds, complaining about the oppression of Moslems, and occasionally raping and looting someone... rebels.
Its transitional leaders have planned a constitutional referendum before the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for October 18.
But the elections have already been delayed twice due to the logistical and security challenges of holding the vote in regions still gripped by violence.
In the latest incident, at least 20 people were killed last week and many others injured in days of sectarian festivities sparked by the death of a young Moslem, police sources said.

[AnNahar] A market in fake Syrian passports has sprung up, particularly in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... , to help migrants and refugees enter the EU, the head of Europe's border agency Frontex said on Tuesday.
"There are people who are in Turkey now who buy fake Syrian passports because they know Syrians get the right to asylum in all the member states of the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... ," Fabrice Leggeri told French radio station Europe 1.
"People who use fake Syrian passports often speak Arabic. They may come from North Africa or the Middle East but they have the profile of economic migrants," he said.
Leggeri said there was no evidence that fake passports had been used by potential gunnies to enter Europe.
He repeated his call for additional EU border guards to help register migrants in Greece, one of the main entry points into Europe.
"Faced with the influx, registration systems are overwhelmed. We have an idea of nationalities, but not a clear picture of who is entering and the real profile of these migrants."
Mirroring recent comments from German Chancellor Angela Merkel ...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom... , Leggeri said the failure to share the burden among EU members would lead to the return of closed borders across the continent.
"The risk is growing every day. We are seeing more and more police patrols along interior borders (between EU countries)," he said.
"If the external borders cannot be managed with solidarity between member states, there is a risk that each state retakes control of its national borders, which would not be more effective."
All sides in this war are mortal enemies of Western Civilization. All sides in this war are allies of other powers hostile to Western Civilization.
Germany is letting in hundreds of thousands of Syrians and alleged Syrians, unchecked.
Young men of military age are disproportionally represented among these Syrians.
What could go wrong?
If these politicians wanted to turn Germany into at least a staging area and base for Islamic asymmetrical warfare against all Western nations, what would be done differently?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A total of 3,650 migrants reached Vienna by train Monday, this year's biggest daily number, Austrian police said, after Hungarian authorities allowed people stuck in makeshift refugee camps to leave Budapest despite many not having EU visas.
"We are still in the process of verifying how many of them are actually asylum-seekers," Austrian police spokesman Patrick Maierhofer told AFP.
Many of the migrants slept at Vienna's Westbahnhof station, hoping to continue their journey on to Germany, which last week eased asylum restrictions for Syrian refugees.
Europe is on the receiving end of the biggest movement of people since World War II, with more than 300,000 arriving this year, many fleeing war, persecution and poverty in the Middle East and Africa.

[AnNahar] U.S. President Barack Obama My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it... has stressed the importance of better intelligence cooperation between Washington and Tel Aviv to stop Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... from obtaining more missiles with which to target Israel.
"As much intelligence cooperation and sharing as we're already doing, we need to do better if we want to stop Hizbullah from continuing to get missiles that can be trained on Tel Aviv," Obama told The Forward, a newspaper published in New York for a Jewish-American audience, in an interview.
Ah yes, The Forward. Tightly aimed at certain among the Jewish socialists of Manhattan, while acknowledging that in theory the universe extends beyond those people living there -- even more parochial than the New York Times, if that can be believed. Once upon a time they had significant circulation numbers, but that is now a distant memory even with the Russian language edition for the immigrant crowd. More at the link, presumably even more at The Forward website, which can be found easily enough.

Hoping to get some info that his minions can pass to Hizzbies?
[AnNahar] About half the detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba need to be locked up "indefinitely," Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Tuesday.
Carter said he supports President Barack Obama My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it... 's long-standing goal of closing the the site, but cautioned it remains unclear what to do with many of the inmates.
"Some of the people who are there at Guantanamo Bay have to be detained indefinitely, they've just got to be locked up," Carter told troops during a televised interview.
Currently, 116 inmates remain at the 13-year-old prison, which has drawn international condemnation for its treatment of prisoners and which critics say serves as a recruitment and propaganda tool for Lion of Islams.
"There are some, maybe half or so of the population of Guantanamo Bay, that under conditions that are safe ... we may be able to transfer them to some other country," Carter said.
"But there's another roughly half of them that are not safe to release, period."
The Pentagon is working with the B.O. regime, including his top counterterror advisor Lisa Monaco, and the U.S. Congress to come up with a plan to shutter Guantanamo and find alternative detention centers.
Officials are looking at military facilities like Fort Leavenworth, Kansas or the Navy Brig in Charleston, South Carolina as possible destinations for inmates. That may raise objections from hostile local politicians.
As a candidate and as U.S. president, Obama repeatedly promised to shut down the Guantanamo prison, and one of his first actions once elected was to order its closure.
But he quickly became ensnared in legal and political wrangling over what to do with the inmates.
The United States is at risk of falling behind its enemies in the field of cybersecurity, military leaders said this week.
The comments come after an unclassified server of the Pentagon's Joint Chiefs was penetrated this month by a state-affiliated hacker believed to be Russian or Chinese. That incident, Defense Secretary Ash Carter told Defense One, "is evidence that we're not doing as good as we need to do in job one in cyber, which is defending our own networks.
"Our military is empowered by and also dependent upon networks for its effective operations. So, we have to be good, and I would say we have to be better at network defense than we are now," Carter continued. He also said he was trying "to encourage interest in our nation and a back-and-forth of people" between the public and private sectors "so that our people have the benefit of getting to know the technology, the culture, and the business practices and so forth of the commercial sector, and we draw the commercial sector into the great mission of helping us protect the nation."
Speaking at a conference in Augusta, Ga., on Tuesday, Army Cyber Command chief Lt. Gen. Edward Cardon struck a similar note. "As far as we have come over the past decade, I still think we are near the beginning of what is truly possible," Cardon said. "However, the window to accomplishing our potential in a proactive manner is closing."
"This is not a unique Army problem," Cardon continued. "It is a joint problem and I would argue even a national security issue." You figured that out, huh?

"He who defends everything, defends nothing."
If you're not going on the offensive, why bother crying for more resources (other than the usual bureaucratic empire building that solves nothing). "we meant well"
[Tolo News] Pakistain's National Security Advisor, Sartaj Aziz ...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy... , on Tuesday rejected claims by the U.S National Security Advisor Susan Rice that his country had failed to act against Haqqani Network.
Speaking after a meeting with German Foreign Affairs Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Aziz said Pakistain has ousted the murderous Moslem group but added that Haqqani had simply moved across into Afghanistan -- where they are now based.
"The infrastructure of the Haqqani Network in north Wazoo, which included IED (improvised bomb) factories and a number of other facilities including communication [centers] has been destroyed, so what is left here may be very limited compared to the capacity they have in Afghanistan."
This comes after Rice called on Pakistain Monday, during a visit to Islamabad, to stop terrorist networks from carrying out attacks on Afghanistan from within its borders.
Meanwhile, ...back at the buffalo wallow, Yellow Wolf clutched at his chest and fell from his horse... the German Foreign Minister on his visit Tuesday to Islamabad asked Afghanistan and Pakistain to set aside their differences and put an end to past conflicts.
"We stand a chance to leave the strains of the past behind us, and if we can take President (Ashraf) Ghani's word, after talks that I had in the last few days, he too is convinced that only the overcoming of bilateral difficulties can bring success to the struggle against terrorism and the continuation of successful talks with certain groups," said Steinmeier.
It has long been suspected that the main stronghold of the Taliban and the Haqqani Network is in Pakistain but Pak politicians continue to deny this.
"Today, the region and the world have realized the truth of Afghanistan and always ask Pakistain to deal with terrorist groups who are active in Pakistain," said Syed Zafar Hashemi, President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. .. 's front man.
However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... the Chairman of the Legislative Committee of Parliament, Qazi Nazir Ahmad Hanafi said that in saying Haqqani's infrastructure has been destroyed in Pakistain, the government is now admitting to them having been there.
"From one side the continuation of the daily war against Afghanistan and from the other side the eviction of Haqqani Network from Pakistain, it means they [Haqqani Network] did exist in Pakistain, and we [Pakistain] funded them and equipped them and now we evicted them. This is a confession that Sartaj Aziz admitted," said Chairman of Legislative Committee of Parliament, Qazi Nazir Ahmad Hanafi.
This comes after Washington recently cut its $1 billion USD aid program to Islamabad on the back of their decision that Pakistain was not doing enough towards counter-terrorism operations in north Waziristan in order to squash Haqqani.

Such lovely people our president made his agreement with.
[AnNahar] The United States remains Iran's "number one enemy" despite a recent nuclear deal with world powers, the chief of Tehran's top holy manal committee said on Tuesday, Iranian media reported.
The Assembly of Experts is among Iran's most influential institutions, comprising 86 elected holy mans who appoint and can dismiss the country's supreme leader.
It is led by the ultraconservative Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi.
The nuclear agreement should not "change our foreign policy" of opposition to America, "our number one enemy, whose crimes are uncountable", Yazdi said in a speech opening the annual two-day assembly meeting.
"The U.S. and Israel are the source of the situation in the region and (their) goal is to protect the Zionist regime in the Middle East," he was quoted as saying, blaming the two countries for the conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Echoing Yazdi's remarks, the leader of the Islamic republic's top military force, the Revolutionary Guards, said the U.S. would always be "the Great Satan™".
"Do not be fooled by the new American language," General Mohammad Ali Jafari told news hounds.
"The hostility of the United States towards the Iranian people has not diminished, but actually increased... they use other methods," he added, according to the Guards website Sepah News.
President Hassan Rouhani, who as a holy man is also a member of the Assembly of Experts, took office in 2013 and has since reached out to the West for better relations.
The nuclear agreement reached on July 14 with six world powers -- Britannia, China, La Belle France, Russia, the United States and Germany -- has helped revive Iran's political standing with the European countries.
Several high-level European delegations have visited Tehran since the deal.
But despite the nuclear talks and the intricate role U.S. Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State... played in getting the deal across the line, there is currently little prospect of normal relations.
The two countries severed ties in 1980 after the hostage taking of American diplomats by Islamist students.

[ALMANAR.LB] Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called Tuesday for an end to "unrealistic and illogical" demands for the resignation of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Trampler of Homs... "If we remove from the equation the entirely unrealistic and counterproductive demand of the resignation of Assad as a precondition for the fight against terrorism... we may work effectively," Lavrov was quoted as saying by the RIA Novosti news agency.
He went on to say that the West has double standards when it comes to the legitimacy of Assad.
"It simply cannot be that, for the purpose of the destruction of chemical weapons Assad is legitimate, and for the purpose of fighting against terrorism he is not. It is not logical," Lavrov said.

[ALMANAR.LB] Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tuesday he hoped the US Congress would not be swayed by "warmongers' propaganda" over the nuclear deal struck between Tehran and world powers.
"What happens in the US Congress, that's certainly a US issue," he told a news conference in Tunisia.
"We believe it's a mutually beneficial agreement," Zarif said of the July 14 accord on scaling down Iran's nuclear program in exchange for a lifting of international sanctions.
"And if people are not too much concerned with the propaganda being raged by warmongers in our region and outside our region, there's no reason for the deal to face any impediments in the United States," said the minister who negotiated the deal.
Congress is due to vote this month on whether to endorse the agreement between Iran and six world powers -- Britannia, China, La Belle France, Germany, Russia and the United States.

"We believe and I think we agree with our Tunisian friends that the fight against ISIL is not simply a military operation," he said, using another name for ISIL.
"It has to be a multi-faceted cultural, religious, political, economic and if necessary military campaign against this threat," he said.
