[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least three school children were killed after a rocket landed in a school in southeastern Paktika ...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo... province of Afghanistan amid fierce clash between the Talibs and Afghan cops.
According to local government officials, the incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Sar-e-Rawza district.
The provincial education department front man Mohammadullah Hemat said a rocket landed in Hayat Baba High School during shootout between the security forces and Talibs.
Hemat further added that the victims of the incident were all children aged below 12 years and another school child was also maimed in the incident.
It is yet not clear who fired the rocket but the local residents are blaming the Talibs saying that the bandidosmurderous Moslems fired a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) rocket which landed inside the school.
The Talibs group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
Paktika is among the relatively volatile provinces in southeastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed bad boy groups including the Talibs and murderous Moslems from the Haqqani terrorist network are actively operating in a number of its districts.

The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier... was ambushed by the Taliban in turbans in Qaisar district of northern Faryab province.
Gen. Dostum was reportedly travelling in an armored in an M11117 Armored Security Vehicle and was on his way to Ghormach district of Badghis province when he was ambushed by Talibs. He survived the attack unhurt but his tank received numerous bullet shots by the Talibs. "And I just had it washed and waxed! [VROOM!]"

At least eight Talibs were reported killed and 13 others were detained after the security forces responded to the Taliban ambush.
Gen. Dostum is currently busy in coordinating counter-terrorism operations against the Taliban turbans in northern parts of the country.
He said earlier this month that he will go to frontline if the Talibs did not refrain from violence and surrender to the Afghan cops.
Going to the frontline along with the Afghan cops was part of Gen. Dostum's promises to clear northern parts of the country from the Talibs and foreign krazed killers.
Speaking to a gathering of the Afghan cops in Qaisar district, Gen. Dostum said those Talibs who are having better knowledge of the realities should surrender and join the government of national unity.
Gen. Dostum further added that the government will welcome all those turbans belonging to Taliban, Haqqani network or any other Lion of Islam group if they start contacts with the government and understand the ground realities.
He had set a deadline for the Talibs to surrender in northern parts of the country during a trip to northern Faryab province last month.

According to residents, some of the mortar and tank shells hit Shib Sleyt in Osifra, a residential neighborhood that has no military presence from forces loyal to the country's elected President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
Some of the artillery rounds hit a group of children who were playing in front of their homes, just before sunset.
Local residents interviewed by an Anadolu Agency correspondent said that other shells fired by Houthis, from their position in al-Hawban area, east of Taiz, targeted Osifra power plant, which went up in flames.
"The shells showered Ammar bin Yasser district, and smoke plumes were seen rising from some of the houses," the local source said.
For the past three days, the Houthis have been carrying out an unprecedented level of shelling on residential neighborhoods in Taiz, especially in areas that they have been pushed back from by the local resistance groups, which recently took back 95 percent of the city from Houthi forces.
The Houthis are currently stationed on the eastern side of the city after having been pushed out of the central regions.
On Thursday evening, Saudi-led Arab coalition warplanes carried out six air raids on Houthi positions in Salah, according to eye witnesses.
The local eyewitnesses told an Anadolu Agency correspondent that the six air raids targeted Salah, which has turned into a Houthi military base, but some of the rockets missed their targets and hit residential houses, killing dozens of civilians.

The International Crimes Tribunal issued a warrant for his arrest on Thursday. The order reached Satkhira jail in the afternoon through a fax message.
Rustom's son Nazrul Islam Gazi filed a case against Khaleque on July 2, 2009 for the murder of his father and four others. The case was later transferred to the war crimes tribunal.
Khaleque is also accused of killing Abul Hossain Gazi and Ahed Ali of Kathanda village; Shamsur Rahman of Bolodghata; Monsur Sarder of Kholilnagar; and Taher Ali of Ghona Banshiapara.
"Earlier, Khaleque Mondol was arrested in other cases. But now he has been shown arrested in the war crimes case," Deputy Director of the tribunal Abdur Razzaque told news hounds yesterday.
Law enforcers arrested the Jamaat leader on June 16 from Kholilnagar Mohila Madrasa under sadar upazila while holding a secret meeting in the dead of night with his associates aimed at carrying out subversive acts. A foreign-made pistol and two rounds of bullets were also recovered from his possession.

Ilias Hossain Bin Helali, president of one of the Awami Olama League's factions, was stabbed twice at the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
Witnesses caught the attacker Mujahidul Islam, 20, and handed him over to police. In preliminary questioning, Mujahidul claimed to be a member of banned Islamist Death Eater outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
Akhter Hossain, joint secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Olama League, who witnessed the attack, said: "Just before Jumma prayers, a boy came to me, pointed towards Ilias and asked me whether or not he was Ilias Bin Helali. Ilias was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and was shifted to ward 102 after undergoing an hour-long operation.
Akhter said the attacker seemed "like an innocent."
He says he would never have guessed that a boy of his appearance could have attempted cold-blooded murder.

[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] One of the hero Marines who foiled a planned terror attack on a French train was fighting for his life after being shot in the neck while disarming the crazed gunman on Friday.
The two unarmed servicemen spotted the 26-year-old Moroccan acting suspiciously and heard him trying to arm his weapon in the toilet of the high speed train between Amsterdam and Gay Paree.
The gunman got on the train in Brussels and attempted his attack soon after crossing the French border. The 26-year-old Moroccan national, who was known to security services, came out of the toilet brandishing the gun and opened fire. Fortunately, two US Marines were nearby and overpowered him before he could massacre passengers. The suspected terrorist had at least nine full magazines of ammunition holding almost 300 rounds. He was also carrying a knife.
Unfortunately, one of the Marines was shot and is believed to be in a critical condition. It is feared that he was shot in the neck by the gunman.
It is understood that the gunman boarded the train, which had more than 550 passengers on board, in Brussels and made his move as soon as it crossed into La Belle France. French media claim that the suspect was previously known to French security services and was living in Spain. He has already been linked to a number of radical Islamic groups. He was classed, according to La Belle FranceInfo.fr as 'potentially dangerous'.
Speaking in Arras, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve praised the Marines for their timely intervention.
He said: 'Thanks to them we have averted a drama. (The Americans were) particularly courageous and showed extreme bravery in extremely difficult circumstances.'

Belgian journalist Marin Buxant Tweeted that the US Marines were on leave in Brussels when they spotted the man and followed him on the train. A front man said: 'The situation is under control, the travellers are safe. The train stopped and the emergency services are on site.'
A report on Twitter said that two US Marines detained the gunman until emergency services arrived. The incident happened at approximately 6pm local time.
The motives behind the attack were not immediately known, although a front man for the interior minister said: 'It is too early to speak of a terrorist link'. Moroccan national smuggles AK-47 onto train, comes out of the toilet shooting, but it's too early to suggest a terrorist link.
The incident happened approximately 115 miles north of Gay Paree near the town of Arras.

An Oregon Army National Guard member from Roseburg was one of three Americans who stopped a gunman who opened fire Friday aboard a high-speed train passing through Belgium.
The guard member, 22-year-old Alek Skarlatos, had wrapped up a tour in Afghanistan in July and was spending a month in Europe with friends, his stepmother Karen Skarlatos told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Friday night.
He was on the Amsterdam-to-Paris train with a group, including childhood friends Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University, and Spencer Stone, a member of the U.S. Air Force, Sadler told the Associated Press.
"We heard a gunshot, and we heard glass breaking behind us, and saw a train employee sprint past us down the aisle," Sadler said from France, describing the drama. Then, they saw a gunman entering the train car with an automatic rifle, he said.
"As he was cocking it to shoot it, Alek just yells, 'Spencer, go!' And Spencer runs down the aisle," Sadler said. "Spencer makes first contact, he tackles the guy, Alek wrestles the gun away from him, and the gunman pulls out a box cutter and slices Spencer a few times. And the three of us beat him until he was unconscious."
Another passenger helped tie the gunman up, and Stone then helped another passenger who had been wounded in the throat and losing blood, Sadler said.
"The gunman never said a word," he added.
The suspect is a 26-year-old Moroccan, according to Sliman Hamzi, an official with the Alliance police union. CNN, citing an unnamed European official, said the attacker had been on the radar of European counterterrorism agencies for his radical jihadist views.
The Americans were widely praised for their bravery. The White House issued a statement saying that President Barack Obama was briefed on the shooting, and said, "While the investigation into the attack is in its early stages, it is clear that their heroic actions may have prevented a far worse tragedy."
Maj. Stephen Bomar, an Oregon Military Department spokesman, would confirm only that one of the Americans was attached to Oregon National Guard's 41st Infantry Brigade Combat team but declined to name him.
"It's fantastic that no matter who it was, someone stepped up to stop such a horrific event," Bomar said. "We're absolutely proud that it happened to be someone from the Oregon Army National Guard."

[AA.TR] Turkish police have detained over a dozen foreigners near the country's border with Syria on suspicion of attempting to join Daesh.
Kilis Governorate said on Friday that security forces had intercepted 16 suspects in Elbeyli district.
According to the governorate, 14 of these suspects were foreign nationals.
The suspects went through a medical examination before being handed over to the Foreigners Department of the Provincial Security Directorate, a governorate statement read.
These arrests come two days after 22 suspected Daesh supporters were detained in another operation in the Elbeyli district.

[DAWN] KARACHI: Five suspected gangsters, including one wanted in several cases, were rubbed out in an encounter by a joint task force of the police and Rangers in Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... 's Napier area on Friday, said officials.
Station House Officer (SHO) Napier, Azam Khan, was critically injured in the exchange. A Rangers personnel and a policeman were also maimed during heavy exchange of firing between the law enforcers and the suspects.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Fida Hussain Janwari, the police obtained intelligence about the presence of gangsters in Ghulam Hussain Shah Lane near Lea Market after which a joint team of the police and Rangers conducted a targeted raid on an alleged hideout.
The suspects, who attacked the raiding team, were killed in retaliatory firing, said SSP Fida Hussain.
He identified one of the dear departed as Sadiq Gadani. "He had established a reign of terror in Lyari," claimed the senior police officer.
"Sadiq Gadani was linked with Noor Mohammed alias Baba Ladla gang," he said. But some residents said Sadiq Gadani had recently parted ways with Baba Ladla and joined the 'Lashari gang.'
The Sindh government had placed a one million rupees bounty on his head.
The other deceased gangsters were identified as Salar, Shahnawaz and Raza while a fifth suspect could not be identified immediately, said the SSP.

[ALMANAR.LB] Militants of the ISIL (so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) Takfiri group have destroyed an ancient monastery in the central Syrian province of Homs, according to a monitor and pictures published by the terrorist group.
ISIL group yesterday “used bulldozers to destroy the Mar Elian monastery in Al-Qaryatain, in Homs province," said Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman.
ISIL Destroys Ancient Catholic Monastery in SyriaHe said the militants demolished the Syriac Catholic monastery "on the pretext that it was used for worshipping others than God."
Photographs posted online by ISIL showed militants bulldozing parts of the monastery, although they did not appear to have completely destroyed the building with explosives as they have done with shrines and other religious buildings elsewhere.
ISIL seized Al-Qaryatain on August 5, kidnapping at least 230 people, including dozens of Christians.
The town lies at the crossroads between ISIL-held territory in the eastern countryside of Homs and points further west in the Qalamun area bordering Lebanon.
The Britain-based Observatory said that ISIL had released 48 of those it took captive when it overran the town, and had transferred another 110 to its stronghold of Raqa province. The fate of the other 70 hostages was unclear.
The Mar Elian monastery dates back to the fifth century and is named for a Christian from Homs province who was martyred for refusing to renounce his faith.

[RUDAW.NET] The Islamic State group’s (ISIS or ISIL) second-in-command was killed in an airstrike by the US-led coalition in Mosul, the city in northern Iraq that has been in ISIS hands for more than a year, US and Iraqi officials announced Friday. This overlaps the White House press release, but adds information.
Hajji Mutazz, also known as Abu Muslim al-Turkmani and deputy to the group’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was reportedly targeted by coalition drones while driving in his car on Wednesday. His name was reported as Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali in the White House statement.
The White House and US military sources have also confirmed that Mutazz had died, and that he was the group’s second-in-command.
An ethnic Turkmen born in Tel Afar, Abu Muslim al-Turkmani served as army commander under Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Following the fall of the Saddam regime in the 2003 US-led invasion, he was decommissioned and joined Sunni insurgents fighting the Americans.
He was later arrested on a terrorism charge and spent years in Camp Bucca, a US-run prison in Iraq. He joined ISIS after his release, changing his name.
Mutazz reportedly played a prominent role in directing ISIS' financial operations. US officials believe he had been the head of ISIS’ military council. He reportedly led the council of between six to nine military commanders who directed the Islamic State’s military strategy

The White House described Al-Hayali as a member of the ISIL's ruling council, and "a primary coordinator for moving large amounts of weapons, explosives, vehicles and people between Iraq and Syria.
"He supported ISIL operations in both countries and was in charge of ISIL operations in Iraq, where he was instrumental in planning operations over the past two years, including the ISIL offensive in Mosul in June 2014," it said.
Like many senior Iraqi Takfiris, before joining the ISIL group, Al-Hayali had been a member of Al-Qaeda's Iraqi faction.
