[Pro Publica] This story was co-published with Gawker. Update, March 27, 6:48 p.m.: This story has been updated to include responses from the FBI and the State Department.
Starting weeks before Islamic militants attacked the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, longtime Clinton family confidante Sidney Blumenthal supplied intelligence to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gathered by a secret network that included a former CIA clandestine service officer, according to hacked emails from Blumenthal's account.
The emails, which were posted on the internet in 2013, also show that Blumenthal and another close Clinton associate discussed contracting with a retired Army special operations commander to put operatives on the ground near the Libya-Tunisia border while Libya's civil war raged in 2011.
Blumenthal's emails to Clinton, which were directed to her private email account, include at least a dozen detailed reports on events on the deteriorating political and security climate in Libya as well as events in other nations. They came to light after a hacker broke into Blumenthal's account and have taken on new significance in light of the disclosure that she conducted State Department and personal business exclusively over an email server that she controlled and kept secret from State Department officials and which only recently was discovered by congressional investigators.
The contents of that account are now being sought by a congressional inquiry into the Benghazi attacks. Clinton has handed over more than 30,000 pages of her emails to the State Department, after unilaterally deciding which ones involved government business; the State Department has so far handed almost 900 pages of those over to the committee. A Clinton spokesman told Gawker and ProPublica (which are collaborating on this story) that she has turned over all the emails Blumenthal sent to Clinton.
The dispatches from Blumenthal to Clinton's private email address were posted online after Blumenthal's account was hacked in 2013 by Romanian hacker Marcel-Lehel Lazar, who went by the name Guccifer. Lazar also broke into accounts belonging to George W. Bush's sister, Colin Powell, and others. He's now serving a seven-year sentence in his home country and was charged in a U.S. indictment last year.

Western Journalism article from 3/6. Western Journalism article said that Hillary used a commercial provider named Network Solutions. Wouldn't Network Solutions have a record of her emails even though Hillary might have deleted the emails from her home-brew server?
[POLITICO] Hillary Clinton ... sometimes described as America's Blond Eminence and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Richelieu ... wiped "clean" the private server housing emails from her tenure as secretary of state, the chairman of the House committee investigating the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi said Friday.
Clinton was under a subpoena order from the Select Committee on Benghazi for all documents related to the 2012 attacks on the American compound there. But David Kendall, an attorney for Clinton, said the 900 pages of emails previously provided to the panel cover its request. But wait! Isn't 'destruction of evidence' a form of 'obstruction of justice'....? What am I missing ?
Kendall also informed the committee that Clinton's emails from her time at the State Department have been permanently erased.
"While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department," Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), chairman of the committee, said in a statement.

Remote Computer Admin: OK now hit the reset button on the keyboard.
Hillary: Ok I did.
Computer Admin: Good, now what do you see?
Hillary: Nothing. I guess we fixed it, that little "Save glitch" we were talking about.
Hillary could set fire to a bus load of third graders on live TV once a month up until the election and as long as she promised everyone who receives any form of public funding that their check would never be touched 40%+ of the electorate would cheerfully vote for her.
The Repubs need to inspire people to vote for them. They can't scandal the opposition into losing. The Dems have a loyal base who believe that they are voting for their financial lives and are completely immoral in terms of how they keep their funding. The Repubs need to prrovide voters with a reason for voting them towards victory.
Hoping that scandal alone will bring down the Hillary juggernaut is foolish and naive beyond belief. It is a failure of a strategy.

I'm with you Frank. I can't even begin to imagine the avalanche of Republican teevee attack adverts and televised debate beat downs, and the worst [or best depending upon one's view] may be yet to come.

If she wins the Dem nomination, which I doubt, she'll win the election. No matter who the Stupid Party nominates, a big chunk of Republicans will stay home rather than vote for the 'wrong' nominee.

If anyone here thinks for a instant that she's NOT running - think again. I've said it here before and I'll say it again. Barring a medical reason that precludes it, she will run and will be the next President. It sucks - but I've seen these people in action (both her and Der Slickmeister). It all revolves around power and money (for her) and sex (for him).

Hillary used a an email provider named Network Solutions. Couldn't these emails be obtained from her email provider even though she scrubbed the emails from her personal server?
[Daily Caller] "Nobody... I've never seen anybody have an accident with exercise machine that ends up suffering symptoms much like Harry Reid's for as long as Harry Reid has," Limbaugh said. "Three months, and you still have signs of injury for accident running into your exercise machine? Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah." Riding his Trek bike off a cliff was thought to have been unbelievable and subsequently rejected, but feel free to savour the visual.
[The Mail] A member of the Nebraska state legislature has compared police officers to Islamic terrorist group ISIS.
State senator Ernie Chambers, a liberal-leaning independent
Is that a code phrase for 'communist' or 'knucklehead'?
from North Omaha, was speaking in Nebraska's unicameral capitol building when he said, 'My ISIS is the police.'
The chamber was discussing a bill that would allow concealed weapons to be carried in bars when Chambers, 77, began talking about police violence and comparing law enforcement to extremists.

Ok. So we should call for the shooting of state senators because they are just robber barons that use their power to remain tyrants and steal from the common man right?

I takes an interest in American politics, and its been quite amazing to watch the near implosion of the GOP to a bunch of ignorant extremists. its obvious to any thinking person that today's GOP is not the political party it once used to be, it now seems to be a collection of evolution deniers, flat earthers and racists, thanks mostly to crappy blogs like rantburg faux news and drudge the gay report
[ snip the link; you'll have to do better than that ]
Thanks for the whinge. Do you feel better now? Feel like you've scored one for the home team? Fulfill your contract with Think Progress to flood conservative blogs with your comments?
Come on by anytime. We appreciate a new chew toy...

I think the above comment is illustrative of how the quality of criticism has devolved to banality and ignorance, and relies on personal attacks. Hope that isn't your "A" game dipshit!
[Right Scoop] Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., created a bilingual "Do Not Deport Me" card for illegal immigrants to use in case they are detained by immigration officials. Tool kit from web site.
Labeling it a "family defender toolkit," Gutierrez displayed the pamphlet and encouraged illegal immigrants to show it to authorities as it describes the documents needed to avoid deportation under President Obama's program. Although Obama's executive action has been delayed by a court injunction, Gutierrez advises immigrants to inform immigration officials the program will soon be available.
