21 Coptic Christians slaughtered in Libya
CAIRO -- Twenty-one Egyptian Christians kidnapped by Isis in Libya around New Year's are feared dead, after Twitter accounts linked to the Libyan branch of the so-called "Islamic State" announced they had been slaughtered. There is no official confirmation yet but Egyptian media believe the news to be reliable and two pictures released by the same Twitter sources show what they describe as "the Islamic State carrying out the execution of Coptic prisoners in the province of Tripoli".

In the first picture five men wearing the notorious orange jumpsuit are kneeling while hooded hangmen armed with knives stand behind them. The caption, written in English, describes them as "the humiliated followers of the Coptic church". In another picture more men wearing the orange jumpsuit appear in a line with their executioners under a message in English that reads "revenge for the Muslim women persecuted by Coptic crusaders in Egypt".

These pictures along with others were published by Dabiq, Isis' online magazine in English,
Good lord -- it's a good thing Dabiq Mag only has an on-line version. Were it to go to classic glossy paper and ink, that first issue would be several inches thick, with all it contains.
together with an announcement of the kidnapping but not of the execution. The abduction, already described by several sources as having taken place around New Year's, was claimed on January 12 and there remains a faint hope that the news of the execution on Twitter is a fake stretching of the images released. The Egyptian government which set up a special crisis unit to follow the kidnapping did not confirm the death of the Copts.

Intense contacts "have been established with Libyan counterparts to clarify the situation and assess the truthfulness" of the information provided reads a statement by the presidency.

In the aftermath of the fall of Muammar Gheddafi, Libya has plunged into chaos with two governments claiming power with two armies and distinct militias. Within this framework the Islamic State managed to create a caliphate in the city of Derna and to extend its realm of action more or less as far as Tripoli and Bengasi.

The Christian minority in Libya is increasingly at risk especially in the east of Libya where radical Islamists have grown more powerful and acts of intimidation and violence against Copts have risen. The kidnapped men, originally from the region of Minya in central Egypt, were abducted in the city of Sirte, Egyptian newspaper Al Shourouk reported.(ANSAmed).

Prosecutions of Suspected Jihadists Double in Morocco
[AnNahar] Morocco prosecuted twice as many suspected jihadists in 2014 than in the previous year, the state prosecutor said Thursday, linking the rise to the conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

"The number of terrorism-related cases last year stood at 147, compared to 64 in 2013," El Hassan Eddaki was quoted as saying by the MAP news agency.

He said the increase of about 130 percent was due to "tensions linked to the situations in the Sahel countries, Syria and Iraq."

Eddaki said 323 suspects were sent to trial last year, against 138 in 2013.

Authorities say about 1,500 Moroccans have traveled to Syria or Iraq to fight for the Islamic State

group, which has declared a "caliphate" straddling the two countries in areas it controls.

Last year Morocco said it had dismantled dozens of "terrorist cells".

In September, Rabat introduced new legislation to try to stem the flow of volunteers, imposing prison terms of between five and 15 years for those convicted of joining "terrorist groups".

group have seized control of a state-run radio station in Libya's coastal city of Sirte, residents said Friday.

Jihadist websites also posted pictures showing gunnies sitting in front of microphones in a broadcasting studio and brandishing Kalashnikov assault rifles.

"They took Radio Sirte yesterday (Thursday). Since then they have been broadcasting (verses from) the Koran and speeches by (IS chief Abu Bakr) al-Baghdadi," a resident of the central city told AFP by telephone.

The resident said speeches of IS front man Abu Mohammed al-Adnani were also being played on the air.

A former local administration official said the gunnies have also set up a headquarters in the center of the city, and voiced concern that they could declare an Islamic emirate in Sirte.

"They could take advantage of the absence of any central government authority to transform the city into an Islamic emirate as they did in Derna," an eastern city held by jihadist groups including IS.

The man, who declined to be named, said the gunnies apparently seized the radio "as a first step to communicate with the population".

"The situation in Sirte is very complex," he said, because many radical groups have a foothold there.

Blast targeting Egyptian police kills 1, injures 9
[IsraelTimes] Patrol is hit on its way to tackle Islamist protesters in Cairo district; krazed killer group Ajnad Misr claims responsibility

An bomb struck a police patrol in the Egyptian capital Friday, killing one police officer and injuring nine others, as street battles broke out in a nearby district known as a hotspot for pro-Islamist demonstrations.

Egypt's Interior Ministry said that a police officer died from wounds sustained in the attack on his patrol in eastern Cairo's populous Ein Shams district. One of the injured was a civilian, the ministry said. Egypt's official news agency MENA reported earlier that security forces sealed off the area, diverted traffic and deployed explosives experts to search for other bombs.

Egyptian krazed killer group Ajnad Misr or Egypt's Soldiers said on its Twitter account that its members targeted the security force as they were heading to the nearby Alf Maskan district -- a flashpoint for near-weekly festivities between security forces and Islamist demonstrators. Subsequent protests in the district were forcibly dispersed by police.

Demonstrations by supporters of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, ousted by the military in 2013, have largely waned amid a heavy security clampdown that has killed and injured thousands. In retaliation, Islamic holy warriors have stepped up their attacks targeting mainly police and army soldiers -- first in the lawless northeastern region of the Sinai Peninsula, and more recently in the heart of Cairo -- killing hundreds of coppers and soldiers.

Not never ever gonna happen. The lefties would be blowing their vocal chords out hollering about imperialist aggressors slaughtering innocent blacks. We could have done it in 1955, or 1975, probably not by 1995, certainly not by 2015. The boil of racial hypersensitivity and profiteering has grown too big and infected too much of its surrounding political tissue.

More embassies empty in Sanaa: Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Holland
[AnNahar] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Germany and Italia became the latest countries to withdraw embassy staff from Yemen on Friday as an exodus of foreign diplomats gathered pace due to growing insecurity.

Long on the front line of the war against Al-Qaeda, Yemen has descended into chaos since Shiite militiamen, known as Huthis, seized Sanaa in September and ousted the government last week.

Riyadh, Berlin and Rome said they had temporarily closed their missions in the capital Sanaa.

"Due to the deteriorating security and political situation in the Yemeni capital, Saudi Arabia has suspended all embassy operations in Sanaa and evacuated all its staff," said the Saudi foreign ministry.

The United States, Britannia and La Belle France have rushed to close their embassies over security fears, with U.S. staff destroying top-secret documents and sensitive equipment before pulling out Wednesday.

The Netherlands followed suit the next day.

"The situation is anything but stable," said a German foreign ministry spokeswoman, calling the ouster of the government by the Shiite Death Eaters "unacceptable, dangerous and with consequences for the region".

"We decided yesterday to temporarily close the embassy in Sanaa and the personnel departed the country early this morning," she said.

The Italian foreign ministry said: "We hope mediation efforts led by U.N. envoy Jamal Benomar will create security conditions allowing a return of diplomatic personnel to Yemen as soon as possible".

The instability has been seized upon by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
(AQAP), which is expanding its foothold across the country.

AQAP fighters overran an army camp in southern Shabwa province on Thursday, that left 12 troops and 15 murderous Moslems dead, military officials said revising an earlier toll of seven killed. They later handed back control of the camp following tribal mediation but kept the weapons, local government officials said.

Since seizing Sanaa, the Huthis have pressed into central and southern provinces and clashed regularly with AQAP and local Sunni tribes.

Given this muslim crap really took hold again in the late 70's, we still have a hundred years or so before we really go after them again. Spain, France and a couple others fell before Europe got serious. It looks to me like we are going down the same historic road...

Qaida Suspects Kill Yemen Air Force Pilot
[AnNahar] Al-Qaeda suspects rubbed out a Yemeni military pilot in the south Friday, a day after Death Eaters launched a deadly attack on an army base and seized heavy weaponry, officials said.

"Gunmen on a cycle of violence shot up air force Colonel Mahmoud al-Naqib, abruptly ejecting him from the gene pool," an official in the southern province of Lahij told AFP, adding that the assailants fled.

The attack was carried out by Death Eaters "suspected of belonging to Al-Qaeda," the official added.

Farther east on the border between the provinces of Marib and Shabwa, troops of the 119th Infantry Brigade which was attacked on Thursday by Al-Qaeda handed over their remaining arms to local tribes and withdrew from the area, local officials said.

Twelve soldiers and 15 Death Eaters were killed as Al-Qaeda seized the brigade's camp at Baihan in Shabwa province and captured armor and heavy weaponry, a military official said.

Another official said the jihadists took "30 tanks, 90 military vehicles, 25 armored vehicles and 28 artillery pieces".

The Death Eaters later handed over the camp to tribes but kept the heavy weapons, officials said.

Turkey-Syria Border Town Blast Wounds 3
[AnNahar] Three people were maimed, including one policeman, in an kaboom Friday at a police checkpoint near the Syrian border in the southern Turkish town of Suruc, local officials said.

The cause of the blast was not immediately clear but Turkish media said emergency service vehicles rushed to the scene.

"The kaboom took place in a rubbish bin close to a police checkpoint. Three people, including a policeman, were lightly maimed," the governor of the Sanliurfa region, which includes Suruc, Izzettin Kucuk, told Turkish television.

First images from the scene showed that a car had been severely damaged by the blast. Kucuk did not say if the kaboom had been caused by a bomb.

The FIR was lodged under sections 365/379, 147/149 and 337-F of PPC against Hafiz Abdul Muqeet, Behram Saeed, Tanzilur Rehman and dozens of unidentified activists on the complaint of Nadeem Shad, a lecturer at PU's Institute of Agricultural Sciences.

The victim revealed the case at a presser on Friday. Members of the PU Academic Staff Association executive council accompanying him condemned the criminal act of the student organization and appealed to the chief minister to take notice of the incident.

Shad told the media that IJT activists kidnapped him at New Campus bridge and took him to Jamia Masjid of the university. More than 15 activists tortured him, he said, adding that they later threw him into bushes in unconscious state near Canal Road.

He said after regaining consciousness he called his family who shifted him to hospital. He said he had shown his university card for identification to the IJT activists but they snatched it and also the ATM card.

PU IJT Nazim Abdul Muqeet, while speaking to Dawn, denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
and said no IJT activist even knew the lecturer.

He said the PU administration had installed CCTV cameras in the university and they would check the recordings which would reveal who kidnapped the teacher.

He said they were organising a members' convention of the IJT and the lecturer was levelling allegations at the behest of the university administration.

Two children killed in an explosion
[DAWN] Two children were killed in an kaboom in a remote village of Azad Jammu and Kashmire (AJK), on Thursday. The kaboom also injured their mother, sister and a friend. The nature of the kaboom is yet to be confirmed.

The incident took place in Chanyalan, a hamlet on the outskirts of Bagh at around 1pm.

After inspecting the scene, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Bagh Kamran Ali told Dawn that Rimsha 6 and her brother Moeed 8 were playing in the courtyard of their house with another child from the neighbourhood, Aizaz 8.

Quoting eyewitnesses, including Aizaz, the SSP said Rimsha brought an empty paint can from inside the house. The bomb was placed inside the paint can.

Rimsha showed the can to her brother who began chasing her. As she climbed a mud wall, she dropped the can which went kaboom! with a bang, killing both children on the spot.

The children's mother Ayesha, elder sister Muqaddas and their friend Aizaz also got injured in the kaboom although their injuries are reported to not be serious, the SSP said.

The SSP rejected the claims by some media outlets that the deaths were caused by a toy bomb and said it is premature to decide what kind of explosive it was.

Always the best time to find a crowd and kill them.
opening fire and exploding bombs in a Dire Revenge attack, the latest in a series of sectarian violence to hit the country.
Revenge for what? Were the Shia making faces at them again? Did little Abdulaziz come home with a bloody nose again?
The attack comes exactly two weeks after a suicide kaboom inside a packed Shia mosque in Pakistain's Sindh province during the Friday prayers killed 61 people, including children, in the deadliest sectarian attack to hit the country in recent times.
Guess what's gonna happen two weeks from now? The government goes through the same cycle of a day and a half of outrage and then it's
"Another hard day at the legislature, dear?"
"Nah. The usual routine."
"Poor dear! You get so bored!"
"Did somebody stop by to leave me a blank envelope with some money in it?"
"That nice Mr. Chaudry came by. It's on the mantle."

The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) grabbed credit for the attack at the Imamia Masjid Imambargah
...since Pakistain is very religiously correct, Shia Moslems can't call their houses of worship 'mosques,' which are reserved for Sunnis. It's not clear if imambargahs are used for explosives storage like mosques are...

If I remember correctly, when the Marines decided to go back into Fallujah and Ramadi the second time, they sent in dozens of teams of snipers several days ahead of the attack to gather intell and to kill as many of the AQ types as possible.

Same thought, I wonder where our SF and SO guys are?

IS Jihadists Attack Iraq Base Housing U.S. Forces
[AnNahar] Iraqi soldiers backed by U.S.-led coalition aircraft repelled an attack Friday by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group on a base where hundreds of U.S. troops are training local security forces, officials said.

"The Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) supported by Coalition surveillance assets defeated the attack (on the Al-Asad air base in western Iraq), killing all eight attackers," a U.S. military statement said.

About 300 members of the U.S. security forces are at the base in the heart of Anbar province training Iraqi troops.

An Iraqi army colonel and a defense ministry official said the botched attack involved at least seven would-be jacket wallahs using a military vehicle.

It came hours after IS fighters launched an offensive on the nearby town of Al-Baghdadi, one of the few in the Sunni province still under government control.

"IS gunnies launched an attack yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, targeting the police headquarters of Al-Baghdadi and two government buildings in the town center," a police lieutenant colonel said.

He said the attackers were assisted by "sleeper cells" that were already inside the town, one of a handful in the western Sunni province of Anbar not under IS control.

An army colonel said police, army and anti-jihadist tribal forces had succeeded in repulsing the jihadists from most neighborhoods of Al-Baghdadi on Friday.

However IS fighters still controlled some buildings and positions in the centre of the town, which lies on the Euphrates river, northwest of Baghdad, they said.

A separate Pentagon statement said a total of five air strikes were carried out near Al-Asad since Thursday morning by coalition aircraft.

A suicide boom-mobile, four IS "tactical units", a checkpoint and an earth mover were destroyed in the strikes, it said without elaborating.

There were no immediate reports of casualties among the Iraqi security forces.

Islamic State: Key Iraqi town near US training base falls to jihadists

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) has captured an Iraqi town about 8km (5 miles) from an air base housing hundreds of US troops, the Pentagon says.

US officials downplayed the fall of al-Baghdadi, which is within striking distance of the Ain al-Asad air base.

Ain al-Asad was itself attacked by IS on Friday though the forces of Evil were repelled, officials say.

Until its fall, al-Baghdadi was one of the few towns in the western Anbar province still held by the Iraqi army.

Rear Adm John Kirby, a Pentagon front man, said the development had to be put into perspective.

It was the first time in the last a couple of months that the murderous Moslem group had taken new ground, he said.
