[THEHILL] The B.O. regime is refusing to publicly release more than 500 documents on the IRS ...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies... 's targeting of Tea Party groups.
Twenty months after the IRS scandal broke, there are still many unanswered questions about who was spearheading the agency's scrutiny of conservative-leaning organizations.
The Hill sought access to government documents that might provide a glimpse of the decision-making through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
The Hill asked for 2013 emails and other correspondence between the IRS and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). The request specifically sought emails from former IRS official Lois Lerner ...the former head of the IRS Exempt Unit. She is a past president of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws and a member of the Massachussetts bar. She was held in contempt of Congress for her role in the IRS targeting of regime political enemies and refusing to testify. The dog ate her computer's hard drive with all her emails on it... and Treasury officials, including Secretary Jack Lew, while the inspector general was working on its explosive May 2013 report that the IRS used "inappropriate criteria" to review the political activities of tax-exempt groups.
TIGTA opted not to release any of the 512 documents covered by the request, citing various exemptions in the law. The Hill recently appealed the FOIA decision, but TIGTA denied the appeal. TIGTA also declined to comment for this article.
Will anyone be charged?
In its written response to The Hill, TIGTA cited FOIA exemptions ranging from interagency communication to personal privacy. It also claimed it cannot release relevant documents "when interference with the law enforcement proceedings can be reasonably expected."
Yet, congressional Republicans say there is no evidence of any prosecution in the works, and media outlets have indicated that the Department of Justice and the FBI have already determined that no charges will be filed.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) notes that eight months after Lerner was held in contempt of Congress for not testifying at two hearings, the matter has not yet been referred to a grand jury. The contempt citation is in the hands of Ronald Machen, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia who was appointed by President B.O..

Raj, they will just employ the IRS version of the Washington Monument Strategy - delaying refunds, not answering the help(less) line and do on. In other words, make it as painful as possible for the taxpayers.

Fire every government employee at the IRS, and deny them retirement, retroactive to 2010. Watch them scream. Declare it's due to politicization of the agency, and that civil service rules don't apply. Watch all of Washington explode as heads do. Repeat with each politicized agency. See what happens. I think there are about 20 million people that would back Congress on this.

[CNSNEWS] Rep. Elijah Cummings ...Representative-for-life from Maryland, representing half of Baltimore City, which makes his district ultra-safe, and most of Howard County, which is out-populated by the city. Cummings' politix are so liberal they're tedious... (D‐Md.) says, "so many people come to government knowing that they are not going to make the kind of money they would make in the private sector but they come to government to feed their souls."
Cummings was speaking in Washington D.C. at the Legislative Conference of the National Treasury Employees Union on February 4th when he made the comments.

Hillary's polling people have pointed out to her that here approval numbers go down when she's seen in public, and go back up when she disappears.
What we have here is the first stealth presidential campaign.

[REALCLEARPOLITICS] PRESIDENT OBAMA: The issues now are sufficiently narrowed and sufficiently clarified where we're at a point where they need to make a decision. We are presenting to them in a unified fashion, the P5+1 supported by a coalition of countries around the world are presenting to them a deal that allows them to have peaceful nuclear power but gives us the absolute assurance that is verifiable that they are not pursuing a nuclear weapon.
And if in fact what they claim is true, which is they have no aspiration to get a nuclear weapon, that in fact, according to their Supreme Leader, it would be contrary to their faith to obtain a nuclear weapon, if that is true, there should be the possibility of getting a deal. They should be able to get to yes. But we don't know if that's going to happen.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons, and I have never heard any Muslim religious leaders say that it is contrary to their faith.

It's also against their faith to persecute "people of the book" (i.e. Jews and Christians), but that doesn't seem to have stopped them.

no its not against their faith to persecute the people of the book
there are a number of references to people of the book in the koran
some, such as 3:199 show the people of the book in a positive way, others such as 3:110 show the people of the book in a negative way
because of these verses, Sharia allows Jews and Christians (and maybe others) to live in Islamic lands as protected people (dhimmi) if they (the Jews and Christians)pay the dhimmi tax and act as if they were inferior - any violations of these and the Jews and Christians may be killed, made into slaves, etc.

Um... if there's one brand of Islam that was born to learn to love The Bomb, it's Shia. End of days, 12th Imam leaps out of a well, the Mahadi, Jesus, and Big Move all worship rocks together in the desert, and the Earth dies screaming like a Tom Waits song.
Geez. Doesn't the President know anything about his own religion?
[WASHINGTONPOST] The nation's top nutrition advisory panel has decided to drop its caution about eating cholesterol-laden food, a move that could undo almost 40 years of government warnings about its consumption. Butter, anyone?
The group's finding that cholesterol in the diet need no longer be considered a "nutrient of concern" stands in contrast to the committee's findings five years ago, the last time it convened. During those proceedings, as in previous years, the panel deemed the issue of "excess dietary cholesterol" a public health concern.
The new view on cholesterol in the diet does not reverse warnings about high levels of "bad" cholesterol in the blood, which have been linked to heart disease. Moreover, some experts warned that people with particular health problems, such as diabetes, should continue to avoid cholesterol-rich diets.
But the finding, which may offer a measure of relief to breakfast diners who prefer eggs, follows an evolution of thinking among many nutritionists who now believe that for a healthy adult cholesterol intake may not significantly affect the level of cholesterol in the blood or increase the risk of heart disease. The greater danger, according to this line of thought, lies in foods heavy with trans fats and saturated fats.

The whole sordid business of the cholesterol hysteria has been based on studies which showed correlation but not causality.
The result?
-ag subsidy policy and government telling people to eat lots of grain after paying farmers to grow it
-pharmaceutical industry taking advantage of the above to sell statin drugs.
The reality is that for the most part heart disease and sclerotic disease is genetic in nature. If any food can be said to be a problem it is refined grain products. This poses a problem for politicians who have promised farmers subsidies and government marketing in exchange for votes and contributions. It also smashes the narrative of the certain sort of person who believes she can control her health completely by diet.

Circa 1923, leaded gasoline introduced. It will cost a bit more, but your engine will run better and not ping.
Circa 1960 unleaded gas introduced. It will cost a bit more, but your engine will run cleaner and reduce pollution in the atmosphere.
In 1975 Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards for automobiles was established. Your call will cost a bit more, but you'll go further on a gallon of gas.
In the 1980's ethanol from corn was introduced. It will cost a bit more, but it will cut down on the harmful effects of CO2 and help free us from Middle Eastern oil dependence.
In the 1980's gasoline without ethanol will still be available, but it will cost a bit more....

We pay about 15-20 cents more for the 'non-food item' unleaded fuel. We also get about 3-4 MPG better gas mileage in doing so. At roughly .01/mile in savings at today's pricing, it pays for itself and then some.
At $3.50 per gallon, it's even more in savings.

Fats and meat are good. Animal protein is good. Carbs are not so good. 50 years ago everyone knew this. Then the feds started telling people what to eat. We've been getting fatter and sicker ever since.

Nothing is better for you than coffee. Coffee should replace all the sugary soft drinks. It makes you live longer, reduces cholesterol, and keeps you fit. It reduces your risk for heart attack and type II diabetes. I'd have died at 30 if it hadn't been for all the 74,000 gallons of coffee I've drank over the past 50 years... Drink coffee, live longer!

[FREEBEACON] Bruce Rauner (R.), Illinois' newly elected governor, signed an executive order ending mandatory public sector union dues on Monday.
As a result of Rauner's action, public sector workers will no longer be forced to join government unions, such as the politically powerful American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and Service Employees International Union (SEIU), as a condition of employment.
"An employee who is forced to pay unfair share dues is being forced to fund political activity with which they disagree. That is a clear violation of First Amendment rights--and something that, as governor, I am duty-bound to correct," Rauner said in a blurb.
The judiciary has dealt setbacks to Illinois' mandatory dues policies in recent years.
Rod Y'gotta pay to play! Blagojevich Who was tried and eventually convicted on federal corruption charges that he tried to sell or trade Obama's old U.S. Senate seat. , the state's imprisoned former governor, signed an executive order in 2003 forcing home healthcare workers, many of whom were caring for disabled relatives, to pay union dues. Public sector unions, who were among the top contributors to Blagojevich's campaign, added millions to their coffers as a result of the order.

Employee right to work, because=Employer freedom to fire, without cause.
[Breitbart] In February 2008, while participating in the William G. Anderson Slavery to Freedom lecture series at Michigan State University, then still candidate Barack Obama's pastor and spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., gave a speech on religious arrogance, in the form of fundamentalism, causing the Christian Crusades and Islamic Jihad.
Rev. Wright said all religious fundamentalist think, 'Do you see some people who are infidels? They are to be killed. We can not live together. You have Jihad, Crusades. You must be killed.'
Wright continued, 'When you have that kind of Euro-centric ignorance, you're not only superior but you start demonizing others who are different,' adding, until you have 'the Christian Crusades. Just kill all the Muslim infidels.' Bravo! Someone did their research and connected the dots.
* Belafonte, Lewis and Sharpton to headline 15th Slavery to Freedom lecture series at MSU. The series will conclude on Feb. 26 with the outspoken Rev. Al Sharpton, who will take the stage in the Great Hall of the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. An activist, author, radio and TV personality and Pentecostal minister, Sharpton heads the National Action Network, an advocacy organization with more than 60 chapters nationwide. He is the host of “PoliticsNation” on MSNBC, “Keepin’ it Real” a daily syndicated radio program and weekly webcasts and radio broadcasts on the NAN site.
[FoxNews] House Republicans are accusing the Obama administration of letting millions of dollars from recent mortgage-lending settlements go toward politically favored advocacy groups, in turn "shortchanging" the people originally harmed by the financial crisis.
