Afghanistan
Two Killed, Three Injured in Kabul Attack
[Tolo News] Suicide bombers rammed foreign troop's compound in Kabul City early Tuesday morning, killing two Afghan security guards and injuring three others including a foreign soldier, security sources said.

The attack took place around 6:30 a.m. local time in the ninth district of Kabul City, after a jacket wallah detonated his car bomb at the entrance as the two other suicide bombers detonated their explosives during the festivities with the security forces, said Gen. Zahir Zahir, Police Chief of Kabul.

First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum
...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier...
who had also visited the scene confirmed that two suicide bombers blew themselves up near a camp of foreign soldiers.

"The question is how the bombers managed to reach the camp as there is no way for the vehicle to enter," the first VP told news hounds.

The police cordoned-off the area and started investigations.

Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid grabbed credit for the attack and said, "the target was a foreign troop's intelligence office."

The attack on the camp of foreign troops came two days after a female politician and women's rights advocate Shukria Barakzai survived a suicide kaboom, in which three people were killed and 22 others injured.

Explosion in Baghlan, Casualties Feared
[Tolo News] According to initial report, at least 20 people have been injured in a kaboom in Baghlan-e-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province.

Three children and two coppers are said to be among the people injured as a result of a mine kaboom that took place in a Buzkashi (goat dragging) match attended by hundreds of people; further details to follow.

Last year in 2013, many people were killed and maimed in a suicide kaboom in a Buzkashi match in northern Kunduz.

Buzkashi is one of the ancient games played in Afghanistan in which a headless carcass is placed in the center of a circle and surrounded by the players of two opposing teams.

Baghlan is among the relatively peaceufl provinces in nothern Afghaistan. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
the anti-government armed bully boy groups have recently increased to their insurgency activities in a number of its remote districts.

Woman killed, 13 Injured in Khost IED Blast
[Tolo News] A woman was killed and 13 other civilians were maimed as a result of a roadside kabooming in eastern Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
on Tuesday, local officials confirmed.

Khost Police Chief, Faizullah Ghairat, said that the incident took place at about 7 a.m. in Bak district when a civilian vehicle struck a roadside kaboom.

"The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital," Ghairat said. "Some of the injured are at death's door."

So far, no group including the Taliban has grabbed credit for the blast.

The improvised bomb (IEDs) are said to be placed by the forces of Evil at roadsides to target security forces and government officials, but mostly civilians have been the victim of these bombings.

GALKAYO, Somalia -- Unidentified assailants have gunned down a journalist working for UK-based channel Horn Cable TV and Daljir radio shortly after evening prayers according to witnesses, Garowe Online reports.

Late Abdirisak Ali Abdi (Silver) was shot dead by two gunmen near Hero Darawish complex on his way home. The attackers used pistols for the assassination, and shot him in the head. The gunmen managed to flee before the arrival of police, security officials said.

The killing marks the third media worker to be gunned down in Mudug regional capital of Galkayo of central Somalia since the year 2011.

Ten killed in Egypt's Sinai after rocket struck home
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Ten people including women and kiddies were killed in Egypt's restive Sinai Peninsula on Tuesday when a rocket struck their home, security and medical official said.

It was not immediately clear whether it was a missile fired by one of the Egyptian army helicopters that have repeatedly struck Death Eaters, or an errant mortar round from the Lion of Islams, security officials said.

Three children, three women and four men in the house south of the Rafah border town were killed in the blast, medics said.

They have not yet been identified.

The military is battling an Islamist Death Eater insurgency in the peninsula that has killed scores of coppers and soldiers, since the army overthrew Islamist president Mohammed Morsi last year and cracked down on his supporters.

The leading Death Eater group, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, has pledged its allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group in Iraq and Syria.

Ansar claimed credit for an attack on a checkpoint in October in which jacket wallah blew up a car and then snuffies combed the ruins to shoot dead the survivors.

The government declared a state of emergency in parts of north Sinai after that attack and are raising homes to create a buffer zone with the neighbouring Paleostinian Gazoo Strip.

Civilians in the mostly Bedouin towns of Sinai had been caught in the crossfire before, with several killed by an errant mortar round.

Explosion kills top politician in Yemen
[ARABNEWS] A boom-mobileing on Tuesday killed a leading member of Yemen's powerful Sunni Al-Islah party whose supporters have been battling Shiite militias, a security official said.

Al-Islah assistant secretary general Sadeq Mansur died "immediately" when a device inside the door of his car went kaboom! in the country's third city Taez southwest of Sanaa, the official told AFP.

Police are trying to identify the attackers, the official added.

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. bandidos murderous Moslems who easily overran the capital Sanaa on September 21 and who have since been expanding farther south.

Early this month, the Houthis attacked Al-Islah headquarters in the southwestern city of Ibb, killing three people.

Dozens of people have also been killed in fighting between armed Shiites and Sunnis in central Yemen. The Shiite militias did not enter mainly Sunni Taez, 250 km from Sanaa, after a deal was struck between the provincial authorities and the Houthis' representatives to avoid fighting there.

Mansur's murder comes just over two weeks after another politician, the liberal Union of Popular Forces secretary-general Mohammed Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakil, was bumped off in Sanaa.

Ten leaders of LI militant group surrender in Bara
[DAWN] Ten bully boy leaders of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Islam
...a group of Islamic bandidos infesting Khyber Agency. It's headed by a former bus driver....
(LI) group surrendered to security forces in Bara on Monday.

Security officials said that so far 350 bandidos bully boyz had laid down arms since the start of the Khyber One military operation in Bara.

Prominent among those who have surrendered are Haji Faqir of Shalobar tribe, Fazal Amin, Said Noor and Bakhtiar of Malikdinhhel tribe and Mukhtiar, Sher Khel, Roshan and Shahidullah alias Saifullah of Kamarkhel tribe. Shahidullah was the bully boy group's front man.

They surrendered during different stages of the operation.

Before his surrender, Shahidullah had threatened in a statement to "teach a lesson to the army and fight against them till the last LI man in Bara". But the following day he handed himself over to the troops, along with close associates.

Now he is avoiding news hounds and has gone underground for the fear of LI chief Mangal Bagh
...a former bus driver, now head of the Deobandi bandido group Lashkar-e-Islam and the Terror of Khyber Agency...
's reprisal.

The LI torched the houses of some of its deserters in Akkakhel a week after the launching of the operation. In a message broadcast on his illegal FM radio channel, Mangal Bagh has threatened to chase and target the defectors all over the country.

The LI lost Zewar Khan, one of its key commanders and a trusted lieutenant of Mangal Bagh, in a clash with security forces in Spin Qabar area two weeks ago. Mangal Bagh's son Israfeel was killed by some defectors in the second week of the operation.

Interestingly, none of LI's top bandidos bully boyz from Sipah tribe, to which Mangal Bagh belongs, has surrendered so far.

Two men riding a cycle of violence threw a hand grenade on a police vehicle patrolling the area, killing two coppers and wounding another one, district police chief Shafiullah Khan told news agency AFP.

He said one of the coppers was struck down in his prime and the second in hospital.

Another local police official Asghar Khan also confirmed the incident.

Jundullah vows allegiance to Islamic State
[DAWN] A splinter group of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) has pledged support to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS), a front man said on Monday, in another indication of the appeal of the Iraq- and Syria-based jihadist group in a region traditionally dominated by Al Qaeda and local insurgencies.

Jundullah announced its backing after meeting a three-man delegation representing IS led by al Zubair al Kuwaiti, the group's front man Fahad Marwat told Rooters.

Jundullah is one of several Pak groups exploring relations with IS, whose fighters have captured swathes of Iraq and Syria in a drive to set up a self-declared caliphate. They share an aim to kill or drive out religious minorities and establish a hardline Sunni theocracy.

Analysts say that so far IS has mainly attracted sectarian groups rather than anti-state Death Eaters like the Taliban. Pakistain has a ready supply of hardened fighters and a population often receptive to sectarian hatred.

Pakistain's Sunni sectarian groups killed a record number of minority Shia Moslems last year. Jundullah carried out a church bombing that killed around 80 Christians.

"They (Islamic State) are our brothers, whatever plan they have we will support them," said Jundullah front man Marwat.

His comments follow the release of a video last month by five Pak Taliban capos pledging support to IS. Islamic State also has contacts with the banned Pak group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
(LeJ), Death Eaters and security officials said.

"The top leadership of LeJ visited Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and met Islamic State leaders at some holy man's guesthouse an undisclosed location at Saudi-Iraq border," one murderous Moslem told Rooters.

He said the meeting took place more than a year ago.

Many Pak Death Eaters said they felt torn by loyalty to Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
, who has strong historical ties to Al Qaeda. IS itself broke away from Al Qaeda.
One feels for the poor darlings, pricked as they are by the sharp horns of this nasty little dilemma.
"All anti-Shia groups in Pakistain will welcome and support IS in Pakistain, though most of them will not announce it openly due to their allegiance to Mullah Omar," one said.

Last week, a leaked government memo warned the group had recruited 10,000-12,000 fighters inside Pakistain, but a government minister insisted it had no presence there. Militants and security officials also dismissed the memo as not credible.

Several Death Eaters said that hundreds of Paks had gone to fight in Syria, but had done so through the Taliban or on their own. Five who returned took part in an August suicide kaboom on two Pak air bases, a policeman said.

Tribal rivalries split the Taliban, Pakistain's biggest murderous Moslem group, this summer, leading to two main factions and several splinter groups.

Some analysts say Paks declaring allegiance to IS is a ploy to grab headlines rather than a sign of operational links.

"They are the new poster boys of Islamic jihad and they have lots of money," said Saifullah Mahsud of Islamabad-based think tank the Fata Research Centre. "There is no doubt they (IS) are trying but these are more probing missions than anything else."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Violent Clashes In E. J'lem Tues. Night, Right-Wing Rally At Entrance To Capital
[Ynet] Dozens of Paleostinians throw tires set ablaze and stones at Israeli police forces in Jabel Mukaber; right-wing protesters call for Dire Revenge for terror attack.

Dozens of Paleostinian youths threw tires set on fire and stones at Israeli security forces in the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood in East Jerusalem on Tuesday night, after violence heightened following the terrorist attack that killed four Israeli Jews at a synagogue in the capital Tuesday morning.

Police responded by firing stun grenades and tear gas at the Paleostinian rioters.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Yellow Wolf clutched at his chest and fell from his horse...
stones were thrown towards the Jerusalem light rail in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat. There were no reported injuries but damage was done to a train car. Searches began to apprehend the suspects behind the incident.

300 right-wing activists protested at the entrance to Jerusalem, near the Bridge of Strings, on Tuesday night. The protesters called for Dire Revenge for the synagogue terror attack and called out slogans against the Prophet Muhammad.

Ten protesters were incarcerated
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
, four of them teenagers, after they tried to block traffic and did not comply with police orders.

Some of the protesters gathered near the offices of the Yisrael Beitienu political party and protested against Internal Security Miniseter Yitzhak Aharonovich.

Shani, a 32-year-old resident of Jerusalem who participated in the rally, said, "I came because I am angry and I had nowhere to release my anger. It's better I do it here rather than in the (Arab) villages. We want to show our presence. There is no coexistence in this city; there will no longer be peace."

Also unfolding in Jerusalem Tuesday night, a 20-year-old man riding a bicycle in the Old City was attacked by two Arabs with an iron rod. He was taken to the Hadassah Medical Center in the city with light wounds.

Kurd fighters seize enemy's arms, buildings in Kobani
[ARABNEWS] Kurdish fighters captured six buildings used by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
Death Eaters besieging the Syrian town of Kobani on Tuesday, and seized a large amount of the group's weapons and ammunition, a group monitoring the war said.
That'll come in handy.
Seize the tanks, APCs and anti-air guns, that'll come in even more handy...
Islamic State has been trying to take control of the town for more than two months in an assault that has driven tens of thousands of Kurdish civilians over the border into Turkey and drawn strikes by US-led forces.

Kurdish fighters seized six buildings used by Islamic State close to council offices in the north of the town and took a large quantity of rocket-propelled grenade launchers, guns and machine gun ammunition, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The buildings were in a strategic location close to Kobani's Security Square where the main municipal buildings are based, said Rami Abdulrahman who runs the Observatory, a group that tracks the conflict using sources on the ground.

The festivities killed around 13 Islamic State myrmidons, including two senior fighters who had been helping to lead the myrmidon group's assault on the town, he said.

Kurdish forces appear to have made other gains in recent days of fighting. Last week they blocked a road Islamic State was using to resupply their forces, the first major gain against the Death Eaters after weeks of violence. "During the last few days we have made big progress in the east and southeast," said Idris Nassan, an official in Kobani. He estimated IS controlled less than 20 percent of the town. Last month, officials said IS controlled around 40 percent as it pushed further into the town.
The proof of the righteousness of the jihadi cause is the steady stream of victories Allah gives them. No victories means Allah does not approve.
The defense of Kobani has drawn in Kurdish peshmerga fighters from Iraq as well as Syrian rebel fighters. The US military said on Monday it carried out nine strikes near Kobani since late last week, destroying seven Islamic State positions, four staging areas and one unit belonging to the group.
Since the Iraqi military can't seem to get its act together perhaps we could loan the Kurds a few T-37 Tweets? Or even a vintage Skyraider or two?

#1  I seem to recall that some of our Special Forces types have quietly wandered into Kobani, whereas the military arm of ISIS is basically the most devoted of Saddam Hussein's officers plus a mixture of trained local and vicious foreign jihadis. Interesting what a few of our guys can do with steadfast soldiers and very limited arms and ammunition compared to their guys with thugs, henchmen, psychopaths, and virtually unlimited arms, ammunition, and tanks.

#2  We naturally tend to describe an organization by the name it chooses for itself, such as here we call it ISIS or ISIl or the Islamic State. But why should we let these obnoxious people choose their own name?
If we could unite to describe it by a name of our own choosing that is as obnoxious as is their behavior, we might gain some advantage over it.
For one thing, anyone objecting to the name would reveal himself as a partisan of the organization. It could also conceivably reduce its recruiting, and even help demoralize its members.
For example, referring to it as Islamic Shits, or for those squeamish about obscenities, Islamic Feces, might be appropriate here.
Why not start the ball rolling to implement some such renaming?

#6  Dutch woman puts on Burga, rescues wayward teenage daughter from ISIS terrorists.

Mother ignores warnings of danger and travels to Syria disguised in a burka to save her nineteen-year-old daughter from terrorists

A mother defied official warnings to travel to the Syrian city of Raqqa to rescue her daughter from the clutches of Islamic State terrorists.
The woman, from Maastricht, named only as Monique was told that it was too dangerous to attempt the journey to free her daughter Aicha, 19.

“Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. This is what I think is right,” she told family and friends

After an appeal for help from her daughter, a Dutch convert to Islam, for help last month, the mother was told by police not to try and rescue her because it was too dangerous.
She was also warned that the “provision of assistance” to jihadists, such as her daughter, could be a criminal offence.

Ignoring the warnings, Monique travelled from Turkey to Raqqa, the self styled capital of Islamic State, wearing a burka after arranging via Facebook a rescue rendezvous with he daughter.

The pair then escaped across the Syrian border back to Turkey where Aicha was arrested because she does not have a passport.

After converting to Islam aged 18, Aicha married Omar Yilmaz, a notorious Dutch jihadi, who is a former soldier, after seeing him interviewed on television.

"She wanted to go home, but could not leave Raqqa without help,” said the mother.
Dutch foreign ministry officials have intervened to bring the mother and daughter back from Turkey before the end of the week.

Kobane defenders say that even though victory aginst holdouts is in sight, they want to make sure booby trapped buildings and random snipers are cleared out before civilians are allowed to return in mass. The process could take a few more weeks.

#10  The Islamist Claim of the Americas

Erdoğan vows to teach Turkish children Muslim discovery of Americas

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has instructed Turkey’s educational institutions to adopt a policy of highlighting the contribution of Islam to global science and arts, including the discovery of the American continent by Muslim sailors some 300 years before Columbus.

“I have to be clear that there is an important responsibility falling on the shoulders of our Education Ministry and YÖK [the Higher Education Board]. An objective writing of history will show the contribution of the East, the Middle East and Islam to the science and arts. As the president of my country, I cannot accept that our civilization is inferior to other civilizations,” Erdoğan said in his address to students at the opening of a religious school in Ankara on Nov. 18.

#12  I seem to recall that some of our Special Forces types have quietly wandered into Kobani, whereas the military arm of ISIS is basically the most devoted of Saddam Hussein's officers plus a mixture of trained local and vicious foreign jihadis. Interesting what a few of our guys can do with steadfast soldiers and very limited arms and ammunition compared to their guys with thugs, henchmen, psychopaths, and virtually unlimited arms, ammunition, and tanks.

We have air supremacy and they don't. It's similar to the effect of light compound bow-armed light cavalry on pike- or sword-armed heavy infantry caught unprepared (and they always are, eventually, because light cavalry can engage and disengage at will). Without air supremacy, our SpecOps guys would be slaughtered, because they are few and lightly-armed. That's what happened to Marcus Luttrell's (Lone Survivor) team members.

#13  To win in a battle you must be able to move, shoot, and communicate.

Light infantry in a mobile environment will be successful against heavy infantry as long as they have air support and artillery support.

The ability to engage and disengage follows the classic tenant of battle, which is to choose the battlefield. Do not let the enemy choose where you fight, if you don't like the field, disengage and engage only when terrain, numbers and maneuverability are in your favor.

Just like at Gargamela, Alexander chose the battlefield, and Saladin chose the battlefield to wipe out the Army of Jerusalem.

It appears the Islamic Chits are letting the Peshmerge dictate the battle field...going where the PPK is not where they want to go themselves.

Islamic State's oil refining said set back by airstrikes
[Chicago Tribune] U.S.-led Arclight airstrikes against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
bandidos faceless myrmidons have eliminated most of the Sunni terrorist group's oil-refining capacity and reduced its revenue, a State Department envoy said.

Islamic State has lost at least 22 of its modular refineries, wiping out at least 11,000 barrels a day of refining capacity since Arclight airstrikes began, said Amos Hochstein, acting special envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs.

While more must be done to dry up the oil revenue, "we believe our efforts have been successful," Hochstein said Tuesday on a conference call with news hounds.

Islamic State may still be producing about 50,000 barrels of crude a day, possibly generating about $1 million daily from smuggling it, said Hochstein, who emphasized that estimates vary and may not be reliable.
So down another 50%? Excellent.
That equals $20 a barrel, well below the market price.

"Revenue has fallen significantly" since Arclight airstrikes began, he said. Islamic State declared a self-styled caliphate in northwestern Iraq and eastern Syria after taking over a swath of Iraq, including djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, in June.

Brent crude for January settlement declined 67 cents, or 0.8 percent, Tuesday to $78.64 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange.

Islamic State consumed about half the oil it produces, according to a report last month by IHS Inc.
