[PEOPLE] Princess Chelsea Clinton says she's stepping out of her correspondent job as she looks forward to taking on mom duties
After not quite three years as a special correspondent for NBC News -- and with just a little while until she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expected to become parents -- the former first daughter is now leaving that position, she tells PEOPLE in a statement, "to continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc and I look forward to welcoming our first child."
Having specialized in feel-good stories of "remarkable people and organizations making a profound difference," Clinton, 34, says the highlights of her job included meeting people like Annette Dove, whose TOPPS program in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, "continues to fill the hunger, education and safety gaps for kids of all ages in her community."

No great loss to NBC since NBC was already lost long ago. Chelsea had one of those "made up" jobs such as Moochell had in Chicago--lots of money for doing nothing.

Sorry Deac' no slack. She had a chance to break from the herd and go straight, but she chose to follow the spoor of her parents and wedded to a similar tribe of scoundrels. Our grannies will no doubt be dealing with the legacy of the Arkansonian Camelot as well. Apple falling not far from tree.... that sort of thing. Of course I could be wrong, been wrong many times, but why chance it.

She's leaving NBC to manage the family business, the Clinton Foundation charity.
The principal charitable goal of the Foundation? To maintain the wealth, lifestyle and influence of the Clinton family. It's a tough job but she's up to it.
Her next move, already mooted, will be a run for Congress in a 'safe' district. That might not happen until 2016 when the Tea Party vote of this year will be swamped by the Dems supporting Elizabeth Warren her mother for Prez.
A Clinton always needs to be in office, running for office, or contemplating running for office. That's how the Foundation maintains its influence. Chelsea will run for something; alternatively she'll get some plum high job for the last year or two of Champ's term.

British Parliament Member George Galloway has been hospitalized after being attacked on a London street, the BBC reported Saturday. The assailant was "shouting about the Holocaust," according to the MP's spokesman. "That's a myth" "really?" *SMACK*
"George was posing for pictures with people and this guy just attacked him, leapt on him and started punching him," the spokesman said.
"It appears to be connected with his comments about Israel because the guy was shouting about the Holocaust."
Police who responded on the scene arrested a suspect. "I am Spartacus!"

Once in New York, President B.O. is scheduled to attend two Democratic National Committee fundraisers in the area at private homes.
One of the fundraisers will be a Labor Day Barbecue, hosted by ex-UBS CEO Robert Wolf, who also golfed with the president on Martha's Vineyard during their vacation.
He will then travel abroad Air Force One to Newport, Rhode Island for a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser with House Minority Leader Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace...
The Rhode Island fundraiser will be held at the home of former Nortek CEO Richard Bready and Betty Easton. Obama is scheduled to be in Rhode Island for less than three hours, before returning to Westchester where he will spend the night.
Saturday, President B.O. and First Lady Michelle Obama are expected to attend the wedding of MSNBC's Alex Wagner to his personal White House Chef Sam Kass.
The wedding will be held at the Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a Westchester County farm-to-table restaurant in New Rochelle, New York.
On Labor Day, President B.O. will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to speak at Laborfest 2014, an event sponsored by the AFL-CIO.
