[PHILLY] New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg, a defiantly liberal Democrat who represented his home state for nearly 30 years, died overnight, his office confirmed Monday morning. Another Senator-for-Life leaves office feet first...
Lautenberg, the last World War II veteran serving in the Senate, was 89. He died of complications from viral pneumonia at 4:02 a.m. today at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, according to his office. "What kinda complications?"
"He pegged out."
Lautenberg had struggled with health issues for months, including a bout of the flu and bronchitis in the winter and pain and weakness in his legs, which have forced him to miss most Senate votes since the end of February. "He's retired, Jim!"
Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican, will appoint a replacement.

And in case they are so what? The question is not if Karl Rove and GOP are behind the scandal but if if Obama has acted like a Putin or a South American dictator.
The question is in case he has if he will be forced to resign like Nixon was forced to for far lesser a crime.

My guess [only a guess] is neither Holder or Champ will resign. Too much arrogance. A lot more scandal and festering must take place first, then possibly some 'wag the dog' diversionary event.
I'm awaiting the inevitable link between IRS employee annual bonuses and those who assisted the Tea Party monitoring effort. The Kathleen Sebelius Obamacare extortion racket should prove quite interesting as well.

A very Pro Bama piece, Blame the repubs, whether or not they had anything to do with it.

That woman is a crook, and there should already be a file documenting her insurance shakedown days here in Kansas. She also tried to raid the treasury in her final days.
What these Cretans are trying to do is shout down to shut up the discussion before a supersaturation ding occurs, that being the government powers targeting a specific group of people for the purpose of preventing them from participating in government.
Which sounds a lot like a Poll Tax.
Its also around the definition of Hate Crime, and since the IRS is in this case under the authority to create business therefore employment, I'd throw discriminatory hiring practices at them as well.
Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Rove is like Dick Morris, really talented at looking at polls and pulling interesting information out of them. Sometimes that information is wish-fullfillment. That doesn't make them magic or super-bright, just good at not falling asleep while studying chart after chart.
[NATIONALREVIEW] One of the reasons Obama elicits so much cynicism outside his cult of personality is that many of us suspect that his rhetoric is just so much marketing for protecting the perks and expanding prerogatives of a bloated administrative state. Real wartime governments are prone to bloat and inefficiency too, but there is at least an ethos that says there is a priority higher than protecting the interests of bureaucrats. When you see a government acting as if taxpayer concerns are a joke and a devotion to limited government is cast as something between illegitimate dissent and paranoid dementia, hearing the head of that government exhort the citizenry to shut up and fall in line is nothing short of infuriating.

Nonsense, BP. Obama had nothing to do with it. The first he knew of it was when he read it in the papers. Really, he was so busy campaigning, he can't be be bothered with little details like this.

The Chicago way. If you hire the right crew, the man at the top does not want to know what the crew is doing, just what every they are doing, gets done. Capiche?

I do laugh when I hear folks say 'Social Security is fully funded'. When I say that the same people collecting checks are the same ones who owe on the IOU's they stare blankly into my face.

Gee, maybe if I'd had a chance to save and invest all my "contributions" to SocSec over the last 50 years I wouldn't need to collect now. Without SS my income would take a significant hit.
All that saving and investing that I did do would probably allow me to survive but after losing ~20% in 2008 it would be real snug.
If SS is to stay solvent how about all gov't employees (and other non-contributors) have their current pension funds rolled into SS on the basis of what they WOULD have been contributing all along. That infusion of cash ought to help. And I don't just mean the feds. How many state and local gov't employees (yes I mean teachers) haven't had to pony up?
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Richard Windsor never existed at the EPA, but the agency awarded the fictional staffer's email account certificates proving he had mastered all of the agency's technology training -- including declaring him a "scholar of ethical behavior," according to documents disclosed late last week.
Windsor.Richard@epa.gov was the controversial email alias used by former Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson, who resigned earlier this year amid questions about whether her agency was complying with open-records laws.
The new records -- the latest in a series that EPA critics have pried loose under open-records requests -- suggests Ms. Jackson used the alias even more widely than known, including taking required agency computer training under the fake identity.
EPA officials say there's nothing unusual in that, since Ms. Jackson used the alternate address regularly to conduct agency business.
The new records show the Windsor account was awarded certificates showing he has "satisfactorily competed the online email records management training"; took the 2010 "No FEAR Act Training Module"; and a completed a "Cybersecurity awareness training" course in 2011, where he scored 83 percent.
Windsor was also awarded the "scholar of ethical behavior" each year from 2010 through 2012. The only training Ms. Jackson appears to have done under her own name was for cybersecurity awareness in 2010.
"At least her alter ego was up on the law and ethics of federal record-keeping," said Christopher Horner, the researcher and senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute who made the open-records request that pushed EPA to release the certificates.
Mr. Horner first revealed the existence of the alternate addresses last year in his book "The Liberal War on Transparency," and since then has pushed for more disclosure about the practice.
In a letter to Mr. Horner that acknowledged his repeated prodding, EPA official Eric W. Wachter, director of the office of the secretariat, said it was not unusual for Ms. Jackson to get certified under her alias, since that was the account she happened to be signed in as when she took the online testing.
"As you will recall from many of your previous requests, Administrator Jackson's secondary email account was windsor.richard@epa.gov, and she completed the EPA-hosted, computer-based training while using that particular account," Mr. Wachter wrote.
EPA officials said Ms. Jackson kept the secondary address because her main email was published on the agency's website, and she needed a way to conduct agency business that wouldn't get lost in a flood of emails from the public that went to that official account. EPA said previous administrators, including those under Republican President George W. Bush, also had secondary emails for internal use.

I'll be waiting to learn if Richard Windsor was also receiving government remunerations, was a registered voter, had a checking account, US Passport, or enjoyed other perks.
[Considerably more than simply an "alter ego", the name was a clandestine 'cover for action']
If this broad was on Youtube lighting kittens on fire and stomping out the flames liberals would still claim that there is nothing to see here.
