[Fox News] The top Homeland Security official accused of cultivating a "frat-house"-style work environment has "voluntarily placed herself on leave" amid an internal review, the department told FoxNews.com late Tuesday evening -- just hours after FoxNews.com contacted the agency about new allegations against her.
The official, Suzanne Barr, is chief of staff for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Two more ICE employees came forward this week to complain about "lewd" conduct inside the agency, submitting sworn affidavits that depict graphic comments made by two brass hats working under DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.
The affidavits were given as part of a discrimination and retaliation suit filed earlier this year by James T. Hayes Jr.,the head of the New York office for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
[An Nahar] U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday ribbed scientists behind NASA's roving robot Curiosity, instructing them to let him know right away if they found life on Mars.
"If in fact, you do make contact with Martians, please let me know right away," Obama joked, as he called the scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California from Air Force One.
"I've got a lot of other things on my plate, but I suspect that that will go to the top of the list. Even if they're just microbes, it will be pretty exciting."

[Politco] Princess Chelsea Clinton isn't ruling out a future in politics, she tells Vogue.
Good thing too, her 'broadcast' career hasn't exactly lit up the ratings...
The former first daughter, who has long avoided the press, let journalist Jonathan Van Meter follow her around "for weeks" for a new profile in the magazine's September issue. From the piece:People around Chelsea have noticed a change in her, too. "As she's been exposed to the foundation and to what her father's doing with his post-presidential life," says Hillary Clinton's ... sometimes described as The Woman to Call at 3 a.m. and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Timothy Pickering ... deputy chief of staff, Huma Abedin, "I think a light switched on: This is the legacy I'm going to inherit. To say it is an incredible one is an understatement. She now knows that in 20, 30 years, everything about her father's legacy is in her hands. It's going to be Chelsea's responsibility to carry that torch. This is the core of what her grandmother encouraged her to do: embrace her inheritance."
Boy howdy, the boss's daughter gets a ringing endorsement from the chief staffer. Who, oh who could have seen that coming?

Bill has had heart surgery, so depending on his situation it could be sooner than anticipated.
Mitt Romney used a tough new campaign speech to personally blast the Obama campaign on Tuesday, saying comments earlier in the day from Vice President Biden are "what an angry and desperate presidency looks like."
"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago," Romney said while campaigning in Ohio.
Romney was responding to Biden's suggestion that the GOP ticket's economic policies would "put y'all back in chains."
The gibbering vice president made the remark while campaigning in what he thought was North Carolina Virginia, during a discussion of Wall Street regulation.
"They've said it. Every Republican's voted for it. Look at what they value and look at their budget and what they're proposing. Romney wants to let the -- he said in the first 100 days, he's going to let the big banks once again write their own rules -- unchain Wall Street," Biden said. "They're going to put y'all back in chains. He's said he's going to do nothing about stopping the practice of outsourcing." Nice to see him calling a race baiter a race baiter.
A former four-term Democratic congressman from Alabama and one time strong supporter of President Barack Obama will campaign for Mitt Romney Wednesday.
A Romney campaign aide confirms to CNN that Artur Davis will stump for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in the battleground state of Virginia.
Davis, who is black, may be best known for seconding Obama's nomination at the Democratic National Convention in 2008, when he served as an Obama campaign co-chairman. Davis said he had hoped Obama's presidency would make a huge dent in race relations, as well as move the Democratic Party further to the center.
In 2010, Davis made an unsuccessful bid for governor of Alabama. In May he announced he was switching to the GOP, leaving the door open to a future political bid as a Republican.
Davis said in June that he thinks his one time political party was becoming more unwelcoming towards Southern conservative Democrats.
"I think the Obama administration has candidly gone too far to the left. You can raise all kinds of questions on whether that's good politics or not," Davis said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." "Obviously the election will determine that." I'm glad the scales have fallen from his eyes. Welcome aboard! He's welcome in the Republican party. Don't know the politics of Alabama but he could certainly serve in a Romney administration.

The Black Chamber of Commerce said 2 years ago they were going to provide 3 million votes to put Obama out of office for trying to start a seperate black chamber run by the White House after they had voted for him in 2008.

maybe they finally see the DNC's rope a doping of their asperations. Just imagine all of the potential talent that has gone fallow due to the silent racism of low expectations.

The friggin TSA demands a photo id to get on a plane. That's a federal standard. Can we claim it discriminates against minorities and get it thrown out too?
#8
Pennsylvania is making it easy for people to obtain photo IDs. You need a photo ID to do just about anything these days such as prove you are alive, fly, get food stamps and benefits, sign up for a cell phone, buy alcohol or cigarettes, get a job. I guess those who are complaining loudest are those in favor of voter fraud?

Demo logic:
Show ID to vote = bad
Show ID to buy cold medicine = no problem
BTW. There was a Utah case a few years back where SCOTUS held that it was permissible for the police to ask a citizen for an ID (I think the term the court used was "Ausweiss") when there was no crime committed or probable cause. They ask for your papers, you must provide them. Hard to reconcile that logic with the opposition to voter ID.
"You're setting me back, Gabby," Obama told Olympic gymnast Gabrielle Douglas during a taping on Monday for NBC's "Tonight Show," according to a network transcript.
"Sorry!" replied the 16-year-old athlete, who confessed to eating a McDonalds' breakfast sandwich after winning two gold medals at the London Olympics.
Douglas became the third straight US athlete and first African-American to win the all-round title. She and her team-mates gave the US its first Olympic title in women's gymnastics since 1996. Socialist food nazi extremism?
The poor girl. All she wanted was a teensy celebration before going back to total control for the sake of her sport. The next Olympics is in only four years, you know.

5 minute hate for McDonalds. It much more likely that antibiotic gut flora disruption is responsible for obesity than mcD's , as well as a host of other auto immune disorders.
#4
With the rigorous diet and exercises regimens the Olympic athletes go through, their bodies will survive the quadrennial lone McM*ffin splurge.
Go dig in your own garden, Michelle.

Though I don't care for Mrs. Obama, I suspect this exchange was in jest - a humorous way to make the point that Americans do not eat as well as they (we) should (said as he finishes off a bag of Krispy Kreme Juniors...)
#7
Then how come all their jokes are self-revolving and, take away the laugh track/applause signs, are not funny or borderline insulting. Rondo didn't necessarily accept Barry's quip about not hitting his jump shots, so what's a 16 year old to feel? Don't know, but Gabby has been taking unnecessary shit so stay strong Gabby.
BP, could be part, I am waiting for the study which has kids eating the school lunches 2-3 times a day, not allowed to run at recess, as a major contributor. That, and child raising skills, where kids are hushed and rushed a bottle when they get noisy so they do not disturb mommy's time - not racial, the self cultural.

Lets see... take advice from an aged angry woman with a larger-than-life caboose... or an Olympic gold metal winner in gymnastics... tough decision... Better have a Big Mac [with fries and a shake] while I think about it...
.....that links the reality of "white men can't jump" to the perponderance of Olympic awards, and the genetic reality of thousands of years of running from pre-Kenyan village to pre-Kenyan village. Not holding my breath of this one however.

What exactly is a racist? Someone who singles out blacks for ridicule and humiliation because they don't like black people, period. Even "black" people born of white mothers.
To complain about Harvard never having hired a black woman on its law faculty in its entire history hardly makes Michelle a racist.
Arguing for diversity is NOT RACIST, you racist.
We don't have racists in thw White House. We have racist OUTSIDE the White House. People like you and the racist right!
When did Barack Obama embrace Marxism? I don't mean an uninformed paranoid interpretation of his policies, I mean the actual teachings of Karl Marx.
No, he is center-left.
You Americans (some of you at least) seem to have a fixation about Marxism, seeing Marxists everywhere. That's very funny.
You wanna know who's REALLY racist? People who calls the First Lady of the United States an ape woman, Moochelle, a tranny with a ball sack, and a snuff lipped Sasquatch. Michelle Obama is compared to Chewbacca. Shes called a mullie. People make jokes about Not wanting to know what she puts in her mouth. Shes called a commie bitch.
That's racist. And you scumbags have the galls to call yourselves Patriots? Please you aren;t Patriots, just disgusting hateful slimeball fucks!

Blinky Wholurt3661 (a.k.a Courtney), get a real job young lady and stop being angry that you are a flunky art wanna-be trying to live lazy off the government dole. Maybe, just maybe, then a light will come on in your tiny head as to what is REALLY wrong with your messed up world.

They the anorexic brain damaged bot people don't want you to eat eggs they are good for your nervous system! Ever really wonder about that dumb ass BMI chart?
#28
Surprisingly, Blinky Wholurt3661 posted from Brooklyn. That's The Forward country, I understand. So possibly s/he is angry that our beloved president was pegged as a Marxist, when really he is a Leninist or a Trotskyist, a Stalinist, a Maoist, or even a Gorbachevist. They really know their flavours of communism there. Quite unlike me, still working to grasp the ideas of the Fabian Socialists, known informally as parlour pinks, who meant terribly well.
#33
Is today Blinky's turn at Team Obama to monitor the Rant, like the last election cycle visitation program? Got to get those future Big Brother monitors trained some how I guess.

Considering his mother and father were admitted marxists its not exactly so far fetched to consider him a marxist as well when he used marxist redistribution rhetoric.
[The Hill] The Obama campaign said Tuesday it is confident Vice President Biden will be an effective foil against GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan ...U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 1st congressional district, serving since 1999. He is a member of the Republican Party. He proposed an alternative to President B.O.'s 2011 budget and made himself the target of both Democrat and Republican verbal pies... despite his latest gaffe.
Biden on Tuesday made headlines when he told a crowd here that the GOP ticket's policies would put "y'all back in chains." The remark was about Wall Street regulations, but the Romney campaign seized on the imagery of slavery to say Biden and Obama had hit a new low.
The unscripted comments highlighted Biden's propensity for off-the-cuff statements --which at times have caused the White House embarrassment. But Biden aides say the occasional slip-ups are far outweighed by the positives that the vice president brings to the table.
"Vice President Biden has been the president's partner and top surrogate on the campaign trail and no one is fighting harder to ensure the president is reelected in November," a campaign official said. "He continues to travel across the country making the case for what's truly at stake in this election and why President B.O. is the right choice for middle class workers and their families."

Methinks its safe to say that NOVEMBER 2012 ELECTIONS = "ELECTING A VEEP/VPOTUS" AFTER ALL???

Vice President Biden will be an effective foil against GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan
Biden has hoof-in-mouth disease. Somehow his brain disengages before his mouth works. Guiliani said that Biden hasn't ever been bright enough to be President.
I was just looking as Facebook this a.m. Judging from the comments there are quite a few liberal young people (18-30) who still buy the whole Obama Team schtick of hope, change, lies and damned lies--they are still believing the B.S. If they vote, there is little doubt for whom they will vote. It was depressing to see the gullibility of this group of otherwise nice young people. Must be the Kool Aid.

I'm sure they are when the moderator/ref is in their court. As they say, 'the fix is in'. Then again, the stupid ass campaign manager who agreed to any debates which have always been orchestrated by the the apparatchiks of the Left is without question working for the other side at worst or at best an unqualified old school RINO still living in the 1970s.

I agree with EC that it is not too late to purposefully gaffe Biden into retirement and go to the bullpin. It does open a few questions so late in the campaign, as opposed to being in front of the Republican choices:
Benching Joe the Ice Cream Biden after a serious of follies may open the case against any policy Biden has been in support of.
Is it really in Hillary!s best interest to accept such a position? Would her chances of becoming president be better after an Obama or Romney presidency?
In order to make the transition, they will find a medical reason; that is if they can find a suitable replacement - no pun, Hillary! has been set up for failure after failure by Team O for five years now, what's she gonna do go be veep while O and Mr. Bill back pat each other during occasionals.
#15
If Biden were to be replaced it would naturally be a health issue. That's the only way to avoid saying he was a mistake in the first place. Still, its too late for that now. It would reek of desperation. Better to brass it out and hope that he provides some kind of gravitas to the ticket in some folks minds.

"Is it really in Hillary!s best interest to accept such a position? Would her chances of becoming president be better after an Obama or Romney presidency?"
I think the question should rather be: Are her chances better after an Obama presidency if she's the VP or if she's not.
If Obama wins it and she's not VP, she'll face fresh challengers. As a VP she'd be seen as the "natural" successor. She will use her 4 years to appear "presidential", but not be responsible for Obama's failures.
If Obama totally screws up in the first two years, she can still check out and present herself as the better alternative.
I don't buy into "Hillary is tired and has given up her ambitions".

Biden could still have a "heart attack" after that countdown, bringing back an oh so reluctant Hillary sacrificing herself.
Hillary can live with Biden being VP, but NOT with any other VP who would challenge her in 4 years.

[Washington Times] Vice President Joe Biden did it again. While on the campaign trail in Danville, Virginia on Tuesday Biden remarked to Virginia Democratic supporters, "..that with you, and I mean this ladies and gentlemen. With you, we can win North Carolina again and if we do, we win the election, if we win you."
