Based on this quote from Blair,
''I see the Koran very much as an outsider. It stands in the great prophetic tradition of trying to return people to the basic principles of spirituality. Taken for its time, it was an extraordinarily progressive declaration of principle. It is also extraordinary for a Christian to read: for example, there are more references to Mary than in the Gospels. The tragedy is that it has been so warped and misapplied.
he himself is asleep on the issue of Islam

Strange how insightful some become AFTER they leave office.

I have to agree with Spengler. Huma is Shia (if she is anything), so there is no reason for her to like Sunni fundamentalism. I believe Hillary is following Obama's instructions and Huma is being a good soldier.

From September, 2010, a reminder from Herschel Smith that terrorists have ways to cripple America. I hope we are very quietly behind the scenes looking after such situations. Hat tip Instapundit.

Steve, I don't have a lot of hope since we cannot protect our borders and don't seem to have the inclination at this time.

I wonder about attacks like that every single time the power goes out. When it does, the first thing I do is turn on the radio or TV to see if the stations are on the air & if so, what they have to say.

It normally runs off, heads for cover of thicker bush, and then ambushes the hunter and trackers. Extreme caution must be taken when tracking a wounded Kaapse Buffel [Cape Buffalo].
[Dawn] THE house has been destroyed, but that is apparently not enough. The empty plot that marks where the world's most wanted terrorist was found living in Pakistain is in the process of formally being declared government property. And just as the demolition of the late Osama bin Laden's ... Maybe his Mom misses him... house in February -- which was carried out mainly at night and under tight military watch -- smacked of defensiveness and secrecy on the part of the state, so does this latest attempt to control a reminder of one of the most embarrassing incidents in the country's history. It is also in line with the general paranoia with which security personnel had handled the house when it existed, harassing locals, visitors and journalists who dared approach. This despite probably having removed every shred of intelligence or evidence available in the house, and even though the structure was more of a curiosity and a tourist attraction rather than being in any danger of becoming a shrine for bin Laden supporters. In trying so hard to control the location, the authorities have only deepened the general air of suspicion about Pakistain's role in the whole affair.
Meanwhile, ...back at the bunker, his Excellency called a hurried meeting of his closest advisors. It was to be his last. They discussed the officers's efficiency rating system... reports of the government takeover of the plot are a reminder that the authorities remain much less efficient when it comes to investigating, or at least sharing, why and how bin Laden ended up living in Abbottabad ... A pleasant city located only 30 convenient miles from Islamabad. The city is noted for its nice weather and good schools. It is the site of Pakistain's military academy, which was within comfortable walking distance of the residence of the late Osama bin Laden.... . All physical traces of the man are being erased, and Dr Shakil Afridi has been tossed in the clink You have the right to remain silent... one way or another for possibly colluding with the CIA to nab him. But though several deadlines have come and gone, no investigation report has emerged over a year after a commission was formed to carry out a probe into why bin Laden was here and why America was able to get him in the way that it did. As with the compound itself, the fear now is that the answers to these questions will remain shrouded in secrecy. Like other security failures and policy mistakes in our history, one gets the distinct feeling that this one is also being swept under the rug.

Hello-o-o-o, its located in a major mucho PAK Military Region.
As his regime slowly crumbles and options for exile and reconciliation narrow, Syria's embattled President Bashar Assad looks likely to cling grimly onto power, no matter the consequences

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
