SEAL attempts to correct "Fairy Tale" surrounding Bin Laden death
Forget whatever you think you know about the night Osama bin Laden was killed. According to a former Navy SEAL who claims to have the inside track, the mangled tales told of that historic night have only now been corrected.

“It became obvious in the weeks evolving after the mission that the story that was getting put out there was not only untrue, but it was a really ugly farce of what did happen,” said Chuck Pfarrer, author of Seal Target Geronimo: The Inside Story of the Mission to Kill Osama Bin Laden.

Yon video: Fool's Gold and Troops Blood
This combat video was made in September 2011 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. A bomb was planted in our path. A young, highly-liked Soldier named Chazray Clark triggered the blast. Chazray lost an arm and both legs. Despite great pain, Chazray was awake and lucid the entire time.

A tragedy was unfolding. The US military, at the direction of former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, strives to get our wounded to hospitals within the "Golden Hour." The military mostly accomplishes this with incredible speed, often under direct enemy fire. They could do much better.

After casualties are sustained, the medical evacuation helicopters typically will not launch until a "9-line" report is transmitted from the field. During this mission, due to the calm discipline of the Soldiers of 4-4 Cav, the 9-line was transmitted in only six minutes. That's fast.

Bold accounting magic has been used to redefine the Golden Hour. The true starting gun for the biological Golden Hour begins at the moment of injury. The military Golden Hour begins after the 9-line is received. If combat or other circumstance delays the 9-line by 20 minutes, the military Golden Hour becomes 80 minutes. But when we hear a military spokesmen saying that average MEDEVAC times are 50 minutes, what they are really saying is 50 minutes plus the 9-line time, and they won't mention that 9-line buffer. This audacious deception angers many military people who know about it.

I reported that 65 minutes were used to get Chazray Clark to the hospital. The military rebuked my initial report, saying it took only 59. They took the Golden Hour tax deduction, deceived the public, and did so in writing.

It took 65 minutes. It should have taken 25. There are several reasons why Chazray suffered the additional 40 minutes.

#7  I think he preens too far in the business. Like any Soldier, he has been there too long. I admit, I did want his looking around on the ground when it was quite intense.

I read some of the spats and seems to me, everyone is wrapped around the axle. 30 Minutes in a Combat Situation though never desirable, but far better than it used to be.

For many Vets, if you were not there as part of the team, you are the enemy. You should know better than to go out on them. You also know you helped in the removal of a brilliant Flag Officer. That may or may not mean anything here. I do not have time to read all of the tribal issues on the internet.

Be that as it may, you may want to take a vacation MR Yon. You don't have the CSM you need for this - it is detracting from the mission.

Bless you for your Service for our fine Soldiers. You really have kicked ass! come back in a month or two?

Afghan suicide attack kills seven near mosque
KABUL, Afghanistan: Two suicide bombers targeted worshippers on a key Muslim festival in northern Afghanistan, killing seven, including two local police commanders, officials said Sunday.
But remember, Muslims never kill Muslims...
The bombers struck as Muslims were leaving a mosque on the outskirts of Old Baghlan City after prayers at the start of the Eid Al-Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice.

At least 18 other people were taken to hospitals with injuries from the attack in Hassin Tal, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) east of the city.

One bomber blew himself up and the second was captured before he could set off his explosives, said Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai, spokesman for the regional police commander in the north.
I'll bet bomber #2 isn't feeling so good right now...
Kamen Khan, the police chief in Old Baghlan City, said one of the two dead local police commanders was a well-known local leader named Abdul who, like many Afghans, goes only by one name.

US Marine Gen. John Allen, the top commander of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, condemned the bombing and challenged Mullah Omar to do so, too. “If Mullah Omar is serious about his call upon the Taleban to eliminate acts against civilians, he too should condemn this publicly,” Allen said.

Boy killed, 5 hurt in church grenade blast
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] Two people, one of them a seven-year-old boy, were killed in a grenade attack on a church in Garissa town on Saturday night.

Five others were also injured when two grenades were thrown into Garissa East African Pentecostal Church. The two victims lived in the church compound.

The first grenade did not explode, while a third was found near the gate of a military camp in the town.

The government responded immediately by deploying both military and coppers in the town.

Internal Security minister George Saitoti, who was scheduled to attend a rally in Kitengela, was said to have been summoned to a meeting by President Kibaki following the Saturday attack.

Foreign Affairs minister Moses Wetang'ula condemned the attack and said it vindicates Kenya's military operation against Somalia's Al-Shabaab

orcs.

"The attack should serve to convince anybody who had questioned our operation in Somalia that there is need to fight snuffies within the region, even as we call for thorough investigations, it is almost certain who is behind the attack," Mr Wetang'ula said.

Military front man Major Emmanuel Chirchir declined to comment, saying it was a police matter.

Pro-Gaddafi group targets hundreds for assassination
h/t Gates of Vienna
A Libyan group loyal to the late dictator Muammar Gaddafi says it has a list of 500 names it has targeted for assassination.

"We are ready to initiate a campaign to eliminate all the leaders of the National Transitional Council, killing them one by one," the Libyan Liberation Front (LLF) said in a message posted on several Arab-language web sites, referring to the leadership of the rebels who toppled Gaddafi and now govern Libya.

The group says it was responsible for the recent killing al-Amin al-Manfur al-Manfa, a former confident of Gaddafi son Saif al-Islam changed sides to become an official working for the Transitional Council.

The LLF threatened to expand its targets beyond the initial names. "This is only the first list that we intend to draw up. There are names of all the traitors that deserve the death penalty," it said.
Maybe be the new Libya will not be as profitable peaceful as French & British some people hoped.

U.S. Warns Nigerian Extremists May Target Hotels in Capital
[An Nahar] Nigeria marked the Mohammedan feast of Eid el-Adha amid fears and tears as the U.S. warned of possible new attacks after deadly blasts claimed by Islamists killed 150 people in the northeast of the country.

The attacks on Friday in Damaturu were among the deadliest ever carried out by Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. Currently wearing a false nose and moustache and answering to Jama'atu Ahlus-Sunnah Lidda'Awati Wal Jihad, or Big Louie...
, an Islamist sect based in the north of Africa's most populous country.

The U.S. embassy in Nigeria warned that the sect could next attack hotels and other targets in the capital Abuja during the Mohammedan holiday.

"Following the recent Boko Haram, aka Nigerian Taliban, attacks in Borno and Yobe State, the U.S. embassy has received information that Boko Haram may plan to attack several locations and hotels in Abuja," during the Eid al-Adha Mohammedan holiday, the embassy said in a statement.

Security was stepped up in Abuja, which has been a target of past thug attacks, including the August 26 suicide bomb at the U.N. headquarters which claimed 24 lives.

Some 13,000 coppers and specialist anti-terror squads were deployed to mosques and churches and other strategic locations in the city, a police official said. Worshippers were screened by metal detectors before they entered some churches.

In the grief-stricken city of Damaturu where the 150 died, thousands of Mohammedans gathered for Eid el-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifices prayers at an open ground patrolled by dozens of armed police.

, who described the wave of gun and kabooms in the capital of Yobe state as "heinous", appealed to Mohammedans to pray for peace in the country as they marked Eid.

"It is a period that we are all expected to live in peace but as a nation we have our own challenges, even during this holy period we still have incidents happening here and there," he said.

While Christian churches and police were among the initial targets for the attacks, gunnies fired indiscriminately in the streets and Mohammedans and Christians alike were among those killed, local officials reported.

"The corpse count cuts across religion, profession, status," said Ibrahim Farinloye, front man for Nigeria's emergency management agency in the northeast.

"The attack seems to have been haphazardly carried out which explains the heavy toll. Both Mohammedans, Christians, civilians, soldiers, coppers and other paramilitary personnel were all part of the casualties."

Eid celebrations in the sleepy and dusty city of Damaturu were low key on Sunday.

Gudusu, a 58-year-old resident who lost a brother in the attacks, voiced outrage at Boko Haram, sobbing as prayers were offered for the sibling he buried on Saturday evening.

His family called off the celebrations but simply prayed and slaughtered a ram to mark Eid al-Adha, one of the most important feasts in the Mohammedan calendar.

"It's a season of mourning and celebration at the same time," said another resident Aisami Bundi.

"People are struggling to strike a balance between the merriment of the season and the losses the city has incurred from the attacks, especially the large number of people that have been killed," he said.

Dissident Yemen General Says Eid Bombing Foiled
[An Nahar] Dissident Yemeni general Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar said on Sunday his forces have foiled a regime plot to blow up a bomb-laden car in Sanaa on the first day of the Moslem Eid al-Adha feast.

In a statement, Ahmar said a car loaded with two gas cylinders and 100 kilograms of TNT had been discovered on Saturday near the headquarters of his First Armored Division in the capital.

The payload was to have been detonated remotely by mobile phone.

A suspect who was jugged confessed to having been ordered by "senior" regime officials to blow up the car on Sunday morning during Eid al-Adha prayers to be attended by the general, said the statement.

The car bore license plates of the United Arab Emirates, it said, adding it was the fourth attempt to assassinate Ahmar since he defected in March to back protesters demanding veteran President President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
's resignation.

Ahmar accused Saleh and his regime of being behind "such a hateful and irresponsible crime" and added he was determined to keep supporting the protesters "regardless of the price to be paid."

The dissident general's forces control northern and western districts of Sanaa, while President-for-Life Saleh
... exemplifying the Arab's propensity to combine brutality with incompetence...
's troops hold sway over the rest of the Yemeni capital.

Saleh has for months refused to step down after 33 years in power, despite regional and international calls for him to do so.

Tribal elder among four killed
[Dawn] A pro-government tribal elder and the wife of another elder were among four people killed in attacks by forces of Evil in South Wazoo and Bajaur agencies on Sunday.

Four people were maimed. Two forces of Evil are reported to have been killed.

Political sources said Malak Amanullah, one of the leaders of a tribal lashkar, and two other people were bumped off when suspected forces of Evil opened fire in Azam Warsak bazaar, about 20km west of Wana.

Malak Amanullah was struck down in his prime. Three people were maimed in the attack and taken to a hospital in Wana where two of them died.

It was not clear whether the other victims were passersby or associates of the Malak who had played an important role in forcing Uzbeks and their local Ahmedzai Wazir supporters to leave Waziristan.

No group grabbed credit for the attack.

One of the attackers was reportedly killed in firing by men accompanying the Malak.

According to our correspondent in Khar, the wife of pro-government tribal elder Malak Mohammad Omar was killed and he himself, his father and a son were maimed when about 25 forces of Evil stormed his house in Bara Kaman Gara area of Nawagai tehsil on Saturday night. The forces of Evil lobbed hand-grenades on the house and used heavy weapons.

The injured were taken to the agency headquarters hospital in Khar.

Political Tehsildar Shah Naseem Khan told news hounds that one of the attackers was killed and several others injured when security forces and tribal volunteers fired back.

Security personnel and volunteers sealed the area and started looking for the bully boyz and their supporters.

Local people said that Malak Omar had no enmity with anybody but he persisted with his support for the peace committee despite having received threats from the Taliban.

Ain al-Hilweh Tense after Fatah Member Wounded
[An Nahar] Tensions were high Sunday in the Ain al-Hilweh Paleostinian refugee camp in south Leb after a man belonging to the Fatah Movement was shot and maimed, state-run National News Agency reported.

"Former Jund al-Sham member Bilal Badra fired at a Fatah Movement member belonging to the al-Mughrabi family, wounding him in the stomach and leg," NNA said.

The man was rushed to one of the camp's hospitals.

Ain al-Hilweh near the southern city of Sidon is the largest Paleostinian refugee camp in Leb. It is home to about 50,000 refugees and is known to harbor snuffies and runaways.

19 Killed as Syrians Rally on Eid al-Adha
[An Nahar] Security forces killed at least 19 civilians as anti-regime demonstrations were staged across Syria on Sunday, the first day of the Moslem feast marking the end of the hajj, a human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
group said.

It was the fourth straight day of deadly violence since Syria agreed to an Arab peace blueprint aimed at ending nearly eight months of bloodshed.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said the killings made it clear that Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
One of the last of the old-fashioned hereditary iron-fisted fascist dictators...
's regime had no intention of ending its bloody bid to crush dissent.

Sixteen of the non-combatants were killed in Homs, the flashpoint central city where protests against Assad's rule were held in most districts despite a weeks-long military crackdown.

Most of the deaths occurred in the Baba Amro neighborhood of Homs, where festivities have raged for days, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement received by Agence La Belle France Presse.

Security forces also rubbed out two civilians in the city of Hama, which lies further to the north, and another in Idlib province, near the border with Turkey.

And in Talbi, a town near Homs, "four protesters were maimed, one seriously, when the security forces fired on a demonstration," said the Britannia-based Observatory.

"Dozens of people were maimed by security forces who shot at a major demonstration in Kafrouma, an area of the province of Idlib, in the northwest of Syria," it added.

Security forces also fired teargas and shots in the air to disperse a demonstration in Damascus
...The City of Jasmin is the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world. It has not always been inhabited by the same set of fascisti...
' western Kafar Sousseh neighborhood, the watchdog said.

Five protesters were maimed and more than 70 people jugged during the Kafar Sousseh crackdown, the Observatory said.

In other incidents, armed forces stormed and surrounded the villages of Zamalka and Irbin, in the province of Damascus, said the Local Coordination Committees (LCC), an activist network spurring protests in Syria.

The latest reported crackdown on protests came as Syrian state radio said President Assad attended Al-Nour mosque in the northern town of Raqqa for prayers on Sunday morning to mark Eid al-Adha.

But following the morning prayers, marches were held across the country in support of Homs and against the regime, said both the Observatory and the LCC.

The latest deaths bring to at least 60 the number of people killed since Assad's government signed on to the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
peace plan on November 2.

The Arab roadmap calls for an end to violence, the release of those jugged, the withdrawal of the army from urban areas and free movement for observers and the media, as well as talks between the regime and opposition.

As a first step, Syria on Saturday said it had released more than 550 people who were jugged during anti-regime protests, to mark the Eid al-Adha feast.

But the Syrian Observatory said detainees in prisons across Syria had on Sunday begun hunger strikes in protest at the authorities "who are not keeping their promises of freedom."

The French foreign minister said it was now clear there was "nothing more to expect" from Assad's regime in terms of honoring its commitments under the Arab peace plan.

"I personally think there is nothing more to expect from this regime and that, despite its occasional announcements, it will not commit to a program of reforms," Juppe told Europe 1 radio on Sunday.

"Different initiatives have been taken to try to bring Bashir al-Assad to dialogue. You can see what happened to the last one: Bashir al-Assad accepts the vaporous Arab League peace plan and the next day he massacres dozens more people in the streets."

Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi said that failure of the peace deal agreed on Wednesday would be catastrophic and demanded an immediate end to the bloodshed.

The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
estimates that more than 3,000 people have been killed in a brutal crackdown since anti-regime protests erupted in mid-March.

I suspect that the Saudis have offered Assad asylum in Bahrain or possibly free passage to Iran if Assad goes with dialogue and is then overthrown.

However, Assad may think he can get to Iran even without this deal or he may think that the Persians won't be able and willing to protect him.

Arabs Say Syria Not Honoring Roadmap, Assad Vows to 'Win Any Battle'
[An Nahar] Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting Saturday to discuss Syria's failure to implement an Arab proposal to end a crackdown on protests, the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
said on Sunday.

A League statement said the Cairo meeting was called because of "the continuation of violence and because the Syrian government did not implement its commitments in the Arab plan to resolve the Syrian crisis."

A foreign ministers task force which negotiated the deal that Syria signed on to last Wednesday will hold a preparatory meeting on Friday, the statement said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy had come up with a new idea...
Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Trampler of Homs...
stressed Sunday that "the Syrian people's defiance in the face of sedition, terrorism and foreign intervention" was the basis of "Syria's steadfastness against the conspiracies," state-run news agency
...and if you can't believe the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
SANA quoted him as saying.

"Syria is strong through its people, national choices and free decision and it is keen on fully restoring its national rights," SANA quoted Assad as telling "clan seniors and political, economic and social figures at al-Raqqa Governorate building after performing the Eid al-Adha prayer" at al-Nour mosque in the northern town.

"We have no choice but to win any battle that may target our illusory sovereignty and national decision," Assad pledged, as quoted by SANA.

The announcements came as a Britannia-based Syrian rights group said security forces killed another 11 civilians during anti-regime protests on Sunday, the first day of the Moslem festival Eid al-Adha.

Nine of the non-combatants were killed in Homs, the flashpoint central city where protests against Assad's rule were held in most districts despite a weeks-long military crackdown.

Most of the deaths occurred in the Baba Amro neighborhood of Homs, where festivities have raged for days, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement received by Agence La Belle France Presse.

The latest deaths bring to at least 60 the number of people killed since Assad's government signed on to the vaporous Arab League peace plan on November 2.

Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi on Saturday warned that that the failure of the peace deal -- which calls on President Bashir al-Assad to begin talks with opposition and end violence against protesters -- would be "catastrophic" for Syria and the region.

His deputy, Ahmed Ben Hilli, told AFP that Assad was given two weeks to start the talks but his regime should have ended the violence on November 2, when Syria agreed the proposal.

Several countries in the 22-member organization have been pushing for a freeze of Syria's membership, as the Arab League had done to Libya in February after its former regime cracked down on protests.

But the Arab League has ruled out support for foreign intervention, which it backed in Libya's case with its call for a no fly zone.

#1  Few Syrians have an arab identity. In the 7th century hordes from mecca and medina raped their way through Christian and Baalist cultures.

Frankly, I would be ashamed to be an arab. Everything that arose from that vulgar entity, came out of pre-muslims (mushrikun) and apostates (murtadis). Even the middle age scholars - Avicenna and Averroes - were persecuted for their un-islamic views. I get sick of hearing how arab-muslims gave us coffee, chemistry and algebra. Its all BS. Even their architecture is nothing but an amalgamation of Byzantine and Hindu creations. Copts devised square interior templar structures like the Kaba. Byzantines had the arch before the savage hordes commenced their 1400 years of aggression. To hell with muslims and islam. They are a cancer on humanity and history.

#2  Kofi: get under control. We're not bigots here at the Burg, and we don't tolerate bigotry.

You got a problem with terrorists? So do I.

You got a problem with the tens of millions of good, peaceful Muslims in the world? You need to go somewhere else.

Arabs to meet on Syria again
BEIRUT: The Arab League called Sunday an emergency meeting on Syria's failure to implement its peace plan as government forces killed at least 10 demonstrators on the day of Eid Al-Adha.
Good idea. Maybe Pencilneck will only kill nine demonstrators after the next meeting. Then again, he might kill a hundred.
The Arab League said a meeting had been called for Saturday because of "the continuation of violence and because the Syrian government did not implement its commitments in the Arab plan to resolve the crisis."

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al-Thani said earlier that "if Syria does not respect its commitments, the ministerial committee will meet again and take the necessary decisions."

The Arab road map calls for an end to violence, the release of those detained, the withdrawal of the army from urban areas and free movement for observers and the media, as well as talks between the regime and opposition.

Eight of the 10 deaths occurred in the Baba Amro neighborhood of Homs, where clashes have raged for days, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said the killings made it clear that President Bashar Assad's regime had no intention of ending its bloody bid to crush dissent. "Bashar Assad accepts the Arab League peace plan and the next day he massacres dozens more people in the streets," Juppe told Europe 1 radio.
Here ya go, Mr. Juppe, you win the prize. Now what?
