[KGO-TV SAN FRANCISCO, CA] The California Supreme Court on Monday upheld Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's order to furlough state workers, dealing a major victory to part of the governor's budgeting plans. In its unanimous ruling, the court concluded that the state Legislature's 2009 budget legislation "validated the governor's furlough program."

Larger issue aside, amazing is it not, how those immune from "furlough" pass unanimous jugement upon those suscectible to furlough.

Well, in California they have demonstrated by act that Supreme Court Judges can be furloughed by the people through recall. The people have no such mechanism with the bureaucracy other than indirectly by electing officials who will furlough them. I'd add by state constitutional amendment, but those who are unhappy with the results just appealed to some sympathetic federal judge who tells the people to stuff it.
Suddenly Brown, in a state where Latinos cast 22 percent of the vote, has the five-point advantage. But as it turns out, Brown had his own Latin misadventure, one that may have skirted the law.
Well, it makes it a crime! Brown exclaimed. The Treasury Department can prosecute me.
Indeed, by the time Brown returned from his Cuban idyll on July 29, 2000, he had bonded with its Maximum Leader and lunched with the worlds most famous 6-year-old, Elian Gonzalez.
And all thanks to a trip planner who happened to be a former CIA officer-turned-double agent-turned-tour guide.
...Again, these ads better be really out of bounds. Otherwise, this move makes her look really arrogant and unjustifiably entitled which is exactly the message the Tea Party Express ads were trying to send in the first place.
UPDATE As far as political ads go, it doesnt look at all egregrious:

Give us a break, Obama. If you really want a break, resign your position & let Joe Biden take over. He's got more sense in his hair plugs than you have all through your carcass.
Firefighters in rural Tennessee let a home burn to the ground last week because the homeowner hadn't paid a $75 fee. Sounds like Crassius, the richest and most hated man in Rome. He made his money with a private fire department. His people would arrive at the scene and sit on their hands until the owner paid up; if they didn't he bought the ruins for back taxes and rebuilt. Of course, the public servants in this case refused to take the payment. Pour encourager les autres. Well, Crassius (ever wonder where the word "crass" came from?) got his - he got so rich he became one of the three "trimumvirs" ruling Rome along with Pompey and Caesar. Of course, as Richard Armour said, a Trimumvir is junta of three where two immediately start start talking trash about the third. Crass decided he needed a vacation surrounded by an army so he went to kick some Parthian butt. As the story goes, the Parthians ended up pouring molten gold down his throat since he liked it so much. Something symbolically similar may happen to the Mayor/Fire chief in TN.
Pls ignore reference to Olbermann - he doesn't have the chance to screw up the story.
