Followup to a previous RB article. IIRC Mom said she was a sweet thang who would never do such a thing. No word on how she got the soda bottle filled with gas. Must dropped outta the sky? See: Gods Must Be Crazy. It could happen!

Michael Foot, the veteran Socialist trounced in a general election by Mrs. Thatcher, has died at the venerable age of 96. Perhaps it is only right and proper that the obituaries contain nothing but compliments to his oratory, his energy, his wide reading, his idealism, and all the rest of it. About his truculent assumption of moral and intellectual superiority there is no hint. To me, he represented the very worst features of the 1930s in which period his character was formed and became stuck....
...For him, it was much better to be Red than Dead. I always used to imagine what role he would have played in the event of a Soviet invasion and take-over. Probably he would have refined the argument that we should all cooperate with the Soviets in order to mitigate what they would do if we opposed them. And perhaps they would have shot him because he'd given evidence of being ready for treason.
And then along came Oleg Gordievsky, the most senior KGB officer ever to defect. Among other startling evidence, he informed us that Foot had taken money from the Soviets to subsidize Tribune, the hard Left socialist publication. Confronted with this, Foot said he couldn't remember. ... The obituaries that I have seen are silent about this, but that was when dread of what the man stood for turned into contempt for him. Couldn't remember a commitment like that?

MYFOXNY.COM - Police told a Rahway, New Jersey family to cover their nude snow woman after an anonymous complaint.
Maria Conneran's family sculpted Venus de Milo in last week's snow outside their home on Colonia Boulevard. Gonzalez says Sgt. Dominick Sforza was apologetic when he went to the house and asked the family to dress the snow woman.
The family added a green bikini top and a blue sarong bottom.
The snow woman melted as the temperatures warmed up this week.
Libyan Foreign Ministry summoned U.S. charge d'affaires in Tripoli on Wednesday to protest remarks by a spokesman for U.S. State Department on Libyan leader's call to declare jihad against Switzerland amid a diplomatic row between the two sides.
"The secretary of European Affairs at the General People's Committee of Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation submitted a protest to the U.S. charge d'affaires over remarks by the official spokesman for the U.S. State Department on comments by the Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi in the fifth rally of the Islamic challenge that took place in Benghazi last Thursday," said a statement by the ministry, carried by the official JANA news agency.
That sentence would never have met the standards of dear Messers Strunk & White, who wrote that little book about clear and effective communication.
During the event, Ghaddafi called for jihad, or holy war, against Switzerland over the latter's decision to ban mosque minarets in the country. "Any Muslim around the world who deals with Switzerland is an infidel, and is against Islam, against Mohammed, against Allah, and against the Koran," Ghaddafi told the rally, urging Muslims to boycott Swiss goods, airliners, ships, and embassies.
A day later, U.S. State Department spokesman Phillip Crowley said the Libyan leader's words brought him back to "the day of September, one of the more memorable sessions of the UN General Assembly that I can recall."
"Lots of words and lots of papers flying all over the place and not necessarily a lot of sense," he added.
My goodness, that was blunt.
Crowley's comments, according the Foreign Ministry's statement, showed "his lack of knowledge as well as ignorance of what was the context of Ghaddafi's speech."
Admittedly, the ignorance of context may be caused by the incomprehensible content of Ghaddafi's speeches.
The Libyan ministry also demanded "an apology and a clarification" over Crowley's words, warning of "negative impacts on economic and economic relations" if no measures were taken.
"We're sorry you're an addled stupid-head."
Reagan and Bush knew how to handle Daffy. It's a shame the current President doesn't ...
The statement also said that U.S. President Barrack Obama was mentioned with "appreciation and respect" during Ghaddafi's interviews with local and international media outlets.
No, he was mentioned with dripping condescension, the kind of thing that used to lead to wars being declared. But don't let's quibble.
[Al Arabiya Latest] Libya has decided to impose a "total" economic embargo on Switzerland, government spokesman Mohammed Baayou said on Wednesday, after Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi declared holy war on Bern. Hmmmmmmmmmm...Lars, get the banking minister on the phone. Tell him I need the "list".
Right away, sir.
"Libya has decided to impose a total embargo on all economic and commercial exchanges with Switzerland," Baayou said.
The country will "adopt alternative (sources) for medicines and medical and industrial equipment" imported from Switzerland, he added.
The announcement comes just hours after Libya protested against a U.S. State Department official poking fun at Ghaddafi after he called for jihad against Switzerland in an ongoing diplomatic spat with that country. Gonna give yourself another sprocket, colonel?
INFIDEL!
Last Thursday, Ghaddafi made the call over a recent Swiss ban on the construction of minarets.
"It is against unbelieving and apostate Switzerland that jihad (holy war) ought to be proclaimed by all means," Ghaddafi said.
"Any Muslim around the world who has dealings with Switzerland is an infidel (and is) against Islam, against Mohammed, against God, against the Quran," he told a crowd of thousands in a speech broadcast live on television.
"Boycott Switzerland: boycott its goods, boycott its airplanes, its ships, its embassies; boycott this unbelieving, apostate race, aggressor against the houses of Allah," he added. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...North Korean chocolate!
His jihad call marked a new low in Libyan-Swiss relations, which soured in 2008 when Ghaddafi's son Hannibal and his wife were arrested and briefly held in Geneva after two domestic workers complained they had mistreated them.
The row worsened when Libya swiftly stopped two Swiss businessmen, Rashid Hamdani and Max Goeldi, from leaving its territory.

Snark aside, the issue is not a Libyan invasion of Switzerland (or a naval blockade.)
The very real threat is state sponsored terrorism against Switzerland, with perhaps hundreds dead.
Gaddafi is a somewhat rational actor, but unfortunately he now believes that no matter what he does, neither he personally nor his enablers, the Libyan people, will face any sort of punishment.
Lockerbie was a hugely successful operation in the end after all. European leaders (including such "conservatives" and "hawks" like Sarkozy and Berlusconi) are crawling on their bellies, begging him for his good will.
Gaddafi is a grotesque and buffooninsh figure, but undeterred he's very dangerous.

He certainly is trying to be, Hupoluns Johnson8346. And he is threatening that the U.S. will be next, if our embassy personnel keep saying inappropriate things about him.
They've moved about 150 miles west to Nuevo Laredo. Our intelligence sources tell us the group wants to take over the city and make it their base of operations.
The U.S. Consulate General's office has already confirmed a gunbattle in Nuevo Laredo. It's happening near Boulevard Colosio and the city's zoo. The consulate general's office is telling all U.S. citizens to take shelter until the fighting stops.
The Zetas are already calling in reinforcements. 700 Zetas from around Mexico are joining the 500 already brought to the area last week. The Gulf Cartel also called in reinforcements last week. They have joined forces with two rival cartels, La Familia Michoacana (LFM) and the Sinaloa Cartel.
Our sources tell us the Sinaloa Cartel and LFM have a deep hatred of the Zetas. They could also benefit by getting a cut of the Valley's drug smuggling business.
It was a rough week for the border. There have been shootouts and grenade attacks in northern Tamualipas.
Violence was reported in border cities like Valle Hermoso, Reynosa, Guerrero, Miguel Aleman, Ciudad Mier, and Valadeces. According to the Mexican military and other sources, last week's violence left at least 23 people dead.
Our sources tell us it was triggered when a Gulf Cartel member murdered a Zeta leader on January 18. The Zetas demanded the Gulf Cartel hand over the killer.
When that didn't happen, the Zetas kidnapped 16 Gulf Cartel members in Miguel Aleman. We're told that led to the shootouts up and down the border.

1200 Zetas? Where the hell did they get 1200 Zetas from? There were only like 150 Mexicans trained as Zetas to start with, and then they defected from the government to the cartels. The Zetas were created as a Special Forces counter narcotics unit; but they got corrupted by all of the cartel money and switched sides. Unless the reporter is claiming that the original Zetas have trained about 1100 replacements for their killed or captured.
#3
Grupo Aeromóvil de Fuerzas Especiales was the original organization that the Zetas were formed from : all of the GAFE were Special Forces-trained counter-narcotics troops. And there were only about 150 of the GAFE that were recruited by the cartels.
#4
Shieldwolf, I think those original 150 Zetas might have trained some replacements by now. They might even call these replacements "Zetas" as well, since they are also cartel enforcers.
#6
Again, just an opinion, but the original Zetas might have trained their replacements the same way they themselves were trained. Thus creating more Zetas. I think it's limiting to say that Zetas were only 150 men that defected. These things grow over time.

Dont know in Mexico but in Spanish (from Spain) slang tener GAFE means "bad luck", ser GAFE means trigger catastrophes through a mix of incredible bad luck and clumsiness.

Maybe they got 1200 Zetas the same way every bar in America got 2-3 SEALs or Green Berets at it.
And so what - we got lots of Dekes and they're way worse animals than those ZBTs.
Dutch anti-Islamist leader Geert Wilders scored major gains in local authority polls Thursday, making him a serious challenger for power in a June national election, preliminary results showed.
In the first test of public opinion since the collapse of Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende's coalition government last month, Wilders's Freedom Party (PVV) led in the city of Almere and was second in The Hague. The results came on top of an opinion poll showing that the PVV, which campaigns against Muslim immigration as its main platform, would win the most seats -- 27 in the 150-member Dutch parliament -- in the June 9 election.
That would make it tough for Balkenende's Christian Democrats, projected to win one seat less, to forge a strong coalition without Wilders. Months of talks between parties, and the resulting policy vacuum, could threaten a fragile economic recovery and cast doubt on the scope of planned budget cuts.
"The leftist elite still believes in multi-culturalism, coddling criminals, a European super-state and high taxes," Wilders told cheering supporters at a rally in Almere after polling ended Wednesday. "But the rest of the Netherlands thinks differently. That silent majority now has a voice," he said.
Andre Krouwel, professor of political science at Vrije University in Amsterdam, said: "You can see there's a lot of discontent in the electorate. Clearly Wilders is going to use these results as a stepping stone for national elections."
Balkenende, now heading a caretaker government, saw his coalition collapse on February 20 after his center-right Christian Democrats failed to persuade their Labor Party partners to extend the Netherlands' military mission in Afghanistan. The collapse was the fourth for a cabinet led by Balkenende in eight years.

This bumps up the motivation to make their criminal charges against him stick. (But then prison has failed to stop more than one political movement.)

MP Wilders has been predicting his eventual ascension to PM. That would certainly make his trial for Dutch Consensus apostasy piquant... for him if not for the prosecutorial team and the judge.

The Secretary of the Journalists Union
Had leaflets distributed in the MSM
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?
[Iran Press TV Latest] Greece has launched a fresh round of economic measures in a bid to pave the way for crucial support by Europe.
Some of new measures taken by the Socialist government are increased sales, imposing taxes on tobacco and alcohol and cutting public sector holiday allowances to save 4.8 billion euros (6.5 billion dollars), equal to about two percent of gross domestic product (GDP).
Pensions in the public and private sectors were also frozen.
Alongside the new austerity measures, the speaker of the Greek parliament Philippos Petsalnikos also announced the creation of a "support fund" to which citizens could contribute to help the country out of its crisis, AFP reported on Wednesday.
"These decisions are necessary for the survival of the country and the economy," Prime Minister George Papandreou said.
Papandreou will travel to Berlin and Paris later this week for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Analysts say that France and Germany are likely to offer some kind of support, with various reports of possible credit guarantees, bilateral loans and agreements with state-owned European banks to buy Greek bonds.
Greece's borrowing costs shot up late last year when it was hit with a triple downgrade by credit agencies after revealing that its official budget deficit figures had been grossly under-reported.

The man shot two Pentagon security officers, who shot him back worse. All three are in the hospital now. The Pentagon was locked down for several hours, but pretty much everything is open again now. DrudgeReport has links to several stories.
[The News (Pak) Top Stories] DSP Muhammad Akram was suspended while four other policemen were arrested on Wednesday after a video showed a policeman publicly beating denuded suspects with a fat leather strap (chittar) as other cops held down the victims in Bhowana police station of Chiniot district.
The government action was swift, though this manner of torture is customary in all police stations across the country, and this primitive, inhuman style of torture continues under the nose of supervisory officers, including member of the elite Police Service of Pakistan.
The footage captured with a cellphone camera from a nearby house was shown repeatedly on several local television stations, sparking anger in the country. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered the IGP to take strict action immediately.
Bhowana SHO Abdur Razzaq, SI Abdullah Kalyar, Constables Afzal Kalyar, Sajjad and Sarfraz publicly stripped seven persons naked and lashed them with Chittar 30 times. Boys and girls of adjoining schools also witnessed this gross violation of law by the police.
The accused police officials were furious that relatives of the detained men had complained that they had been falsely accused of robbery, Chiniot DPO Fayaz Sumbal told AP. The DPO said the suspects were involved in heinous crimes. The DPO has been issued a show-cause notice. The SHO is known as an encounter specialist. Locals allege he beat the detained suspects daily at 11 pm.
A few days back, he beat three accused in a similar fashion. The SHO and the other four officers have been jailed and will be tried on torture charges, said Sumbal. TV channels reported the IGP as saying the arrested cops would be tried under the anti-terrorism law. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah assured people in an interview with a news television that appropriate legal action was being taken and the officers "will not remain in the police force."

Back in the 1970s, there was a homosexual self defense gang called the "Lavender Panthers". They specialized in martial arts, and their idea was to "bash the bashers".
But they were killed off, literally, when AIDS hit. However, it would be a hoot if they were revitalized, then just beat the hell out of Muslims who were calling for homosexuals to be killed.
