Afghan police arrest abducted German's relatives
Police have arrested four relatives of the Afghan wife of a German national abducted at the weekend, and believe they know where he is being held, a spokesman said Thursday.

Carpenter Harald Kleber, 42, was kidnapped on Sunday in the western province of Herat. “Four relatives of the wife of the German have been arrested in relation to the incident as suspects,” a spokesman for the Herat provincial police, Nur Khan Nikzad, told AFP. The Afghan trade minister, Amin Farhang, also told German media that four relatives of wife of the former aid worker were in custody.

Farhang ruled out the possibility his abduction could have been the work of Taliban, even though the group has been responsible for a wave of kidnappings of foreigners in the war-torn country. Nikzad said authorities believed they knew where the German was being held. He declined to give further details. Kleber worked for a humanitarian organisation in Herat between 2003 and 2004 and then stayed in the country.

Bangladesh
1 killed in 'shootout', 25 held
A listed criminal was killed in 'shootout' and 25 were arrested as police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) started special drive in southwestern Kushtia, Chuadanga, Jhedidah and Meherpur districts on Monday midnight.
If you want the front seat for a midnight drive with the Rab, ya have to be the first to yell "Shuttergun!".
In Kushtia, gang leader Selim Hossain alias Saltu was killed in 'shootout with Rab at Lahinipara village in Sadar upazila early yesterday. He was second-in-command of criminal gang Kamal Bahini, sources said.
Second-in-command's have the same life span as Mike Vick's dogs
Tipped off, Mahmoud the Rat strikes again
a Rab team raided a house of Lahinipara at about 3:30am When else?
when the criminals led by Saltu started to flee
"Curly-toed sandles, don't fail us now!"
opening fire on the law enforcers,
"Open reckless random ineffective fire!"
[BANG! BANG! BANGETY BANG!]
who fired back,
[KAPOW! KATHING!]
Duh
resulting in a half an hour-long gunfight, Rab said.
Five minutes to drag Saltu out and shoot him, five minutes to stage the evidence, twenty minutes for coffee
Hit with the bullets, gang leader Saltu died on the spot.
"Aaaaaiiiieeee! [Thud!] Rosebud! [RATTLE!]"
All together now, "He's dead, Jim"
Hailing from Mollateghoria village in Kushtia Sadar upazila, Saltu was a listed criminal and accused in several cases on twelve systems including five for murder, police said.

On Saturday, outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) set postures and distributed leaflets in Chuadanga vowing to 'avenge the killing' of the outfit's founder Mofakhkhar Hossain.
Kushtia police said they arrested 11 people from different areas of the district under the special drive. In Chuadanga, ten people were arrested while four were held in Jhenidah.

On Saturday, outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) set postures and distributed leaflets in Chuadanga vowing to 'avenge the killing' of the outfit's founder Mofakhkhar Hossain, who was killed in 'crossfire' with Rab on December 17 of 2004 in Kushtia.
"We must have revenge. Dire revenge!"
Following threat by the outlaws, Deputy Inspector General of police of Khulna M Asaduzzaman Mia ordered the police officials of four districts to start special drive to nab the outlaws and criminals. At least 462 'crossfire' killings took place in ten districts of southwestern region since the start of such operations in June 2004.

Europe
Belgium Arrests 14 in Terrorist Plot
Belgian police Friday arrested 14 Muslim extremists suspected of planning the jailbreak of an al-Qaida prisoner convicted of plotting a terrorist attack on U.S. air base personnel, officials said. Extra police were deployed across the capital at airports, subway stations and other public places. The U.S. Embassy warned Americans of "a heightened risk of terrorist attack in Brussels," although it had no indication of any American targets.

Police arrested the 14 in all-night raids across the country and discovered arms and explosives apparently intended for the jailbreak. The prisoner, Nizar Trabelsi, a 37-year-old Tunisian who played soccer for several German teams, was sentenced to the maximum 10 years in jail four years ago. He had admitted planning to drive a car bomb into the canteen at Kleine Brogel, a Belgian air base where about 100 American military personnel are stationed. Trabelsi was sent to the high-security unit of Lantin jail, 60 miles east of Brussels, but there have been reports that he has been moved since then. Police have refused to confirm the reports.

The federal prosecutor's office said the 14 were planning to free Trabelsi by force, and the government did not rule out the possibility that other attacks had been planned. "If a group with an extremist view of Islam were ready to use arms and explosives to release Mr. Trabelsi, there is no guarantee that they would not use them for other ends," said Lieve Pellens, spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor's office.

France Detains Five Men In Connection With Algeria Bombing
Five men are being held by French authorities in connection with last week's bombing of U.N. offices in Algeria. The men are suspected of giving logistical support to al-Qaida in Islamic North Africa. The terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the twin truck bombings of the U.N. offices and an Algerian government building. The attacks left at least 37 people dead.

The suspects were rounded up in France on Tuesday. An official says three other men were also detained and later released. The men are described as North African and French. A French newspaper reports they have been under surveillance for months. Police say there's nothing to suggest that they had any direct involvement in the December 11th bombings and they're not suspected of planning any attacks in France.

Italy: Imam jailed on terrorism charges
(AKI) - The former imam at Milan's central mosque, Abu Imad, was on Thursday sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for conspiracy to carry out a terrorist act. Ten other people were also jailed for the same offence, receiving sentences that varied from 2 to 10 years, while four others were acquitted due to a lack of evidence against them. Milan prosecutors had asked for jailterms ranging from four years and six months to 15 years for all the defendants.

Imad and his co-defendants had allegedly set up a Salafite cell that was active in Milan and elsewhere in the northern Lombardy region. The cell's mission is believed to have been recruiting suicide bombers, trafficking illegal immigrants and indoctrination.

Eid greetings from Peshawar: dozens dead in mosque boom
More than 30 people were killed on Friday in a suspected suicide bombing at a northwest Pakistan mosque, where a former interior minister was offering Muslim Eid festival prayers with worshippers, police said.

Intelligence officials said as many as 50 people may have died but this could not be immediately confirmed by police. Dozens of people were wounded in the blast. Body parts and shoes were scattered around the mosque floor, witnesses said.

Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, who was interior minister in President Pervez Musharraf's recently dissolved government, was at the mosque in his home village at the time of the attack but it was unclear if he was the target. He said he escaped unharmed but his son was injured. The suspected bomber, sitting in a middle row among the worshippers, detonated his bomb as prayers ended and people gathered around the politician to greet him, a police official who asked not to be named, said.

This is how savages look, Completely devoid of compassion, Sympathy or respect.

Morally bankrupt monsters killing and destroying every thing in their path.

Life has no meaning regardless of its form.
Society, Art and education are meaningless.
They choose to live like animals of the lowest form clinging to hate and death as their only scale of
self worth.

Their future mirrors their past, They were savage beasts 1500 years ago and the future is the same.
They seek to bring all things to their level instead of climbing out of prehistoric anarchy.
They are the epitome of self loathing, To lazy and to stupid raise the bar just one more notch.
They hate themselves so much that their own death is the only thing they look forward to bring them happiness.
They create nothing, They better nothing, They add to nothing but despair.
They are the lowest form of life on earth.
They lack what they fear most….humanity.

They are muslims.

Taliban outfit faces ban
The government has decided to ban Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a militant outfit that recently emerged in the insurgency-hit Tribal Areas, Daily Times learnt on Thursday. Sources told Daily Times that the decision had been made on the recommendation of top officials of the country’s security apparatus.

The government has banned 18 militant outfits and put two on the watch list since 2001. Caretaker Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz Khan told Daily Times that no decision to ban TTP had been made as yet but the matter was under the government’s serious consideration. “Yes, we’re seriously considering the ban but a decision to this effect will come only after a thorough examination of all the aspects concerned,” he said.
On December 14, around 40 local Taliban leaders announced to form the TTP in a bid to centralise their command.
On December 14, around 40 local Taliban leaders announced to form the TTP in a bid to centralise their command.

Sources said that intelligence agencies had already been tasked to check out the TTP infrastructure including its main leaders, financiers and supporters in the Tribal Areas and elsewhere. Sources said the government had already launched an unannounced crackdown on TTP leaders and activists across the country. Forty Taliban leaders from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and some normally governed districts of the NWFP had set up TTP, a centralised organisation under warlord Baitullah Mehsud of South Waziristan “to enforce Sharia, to unite against the NATO forces in Afghanistan and do defensive jihad against the Pakistan Army”.

U.S. convoys struggle to adjust to policy change
Struggle, eh? The article is published by McClatchy, which also mourned the slow employment for Baghdad's gravediggers when The Surge started to work.
CAMP TAJI, Iraq — In the first month that they were in Iraq, someone threatened, shot at or tried to blow up the soldiers of the Kentucky National Guard's B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery 12 times. Last month, there were only three such incidents.

But confirmation that the roads have become safer came a few weeks ago when a flier went up in the 2-138's office at this base 20 miles north of Baghdad. "Effective immediately," it read, "assume all civilian vehicles are friendly."

#5  USN, ret. - I have a good buddy in the 731 KANG with, as I understand it, the same: no fatalities though they have been in combat (buddy had his hummvee rpg out from under him, passengers dinged but no fatality). They engaged some jihadis and found they were using something call a parachute grenade (?)-described as a potato masher with a drag chute. The gray lining is that they are wearing out their supply of dominos.

Special Groups Catches of the Day
That's four this week, unless some are reported twice. As I understand it, these are either Iranian or Iranian-trained elements of Shia militia groups who are allegedly now acting outside the influence of Mookie.

Coalition forces capture two Special Groups leaders, detain three other suspects

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition forces captured two suspected Special Groups leaders and detained three other suspects during operations to disrupt criminal element networks early this morning in the Al Mashru area, south of Baghdad and the Kadhimiyah area, west of Baghdad.

The targeted individual reportedly trained criminal splinter group elements to perform attacks on Coalition and Iraqi forces. He allegedly facilitated the training of numerous criminals in the use of explosively formed penetrators and improvised explosive devices. The targeted individual was also reportedly an associate of several other senior-level criminal element leaders who were involved in attacks on Coalition forces.

Intelligence led ground forces to the target area where they captured the wanted individual and detained one other suspected criminal without incident.

In another operation, Coalition forces targeted a separate individual located in the Kadhimiyah area, who was a suspected Special Groups criminal element senior leader. He was allegedly responsible for facilitating the supply of explosives for use in explosively formed penetrator attacks. The wanted individual reportedly controlled a group of criminal element cells operating in Baghdad. He was also reportedly an associate of several other senior-level criminal element leaders who were involved in attacks on Coalition forces.

Yesterday on Hugh Hewitt show there was an interesting discussion of the USMC's Combat Hunter program. One comment by one of the guests was telling: he said that the difference now is that we're aggressively going after the main bad guys. Some of us can only shake our heads and recall the many months of treading water before this basic and obvious idea of resuming the initiative was adopted. And while I like and respect Gen. Al-Qaeda Networks Disrupted; One Killed, 19 Captured

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition forces killed one terrorist and detained 19 suspected terrorists during operations Wednesday and today targeting al-Qaeda networks in central and northern Iraq.

During coordinated operations in Baghdad Wednesday and today, two wanted individuals were detained for their involvement in the al-Qaeda in Iraq media and propaganda network. The individuals are also reportedly associates of a suspected terrorist, who was detained by Coalition forces Dec. 9 for his role in the same network (see MNF-I press release A071209a, “Al-Qaeda networks disrupted; Coalition forces detain 10 suspects,” dated Dec. 9, 2007).

The ground force discovered caches of media and propaganda materials during both operations. In addition to the wanted individuals, the ground force detained four suspected terrorists Wednesday.

Volunteers to fight al-Qaeda targeted in Iraq blast
Thirteen people were killed today when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive vest at a recruitment post for volunteers wanting to fight extremists in Iraq. American troops may also have been caught up in the blast that rocked the majority Shia Arab town of Kanaan, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad, according to Iraqi police. A US military spokesman confirmed that a suicide attack had taken place but was unable to provide further details immediately.

Iraqi police said that all of the dead were volunteers to a local Awakening group, an initiative supported by the US military that enables disenchanted Iraqis to oppose the perpetrators of suicide bombings and sectarian slaughters who have thrived in the aftermath of the invasion. Paid each month by US troops and allowed to carry a weapon, these largely Sunni Arab movements have taken charge of grassroots security in their neighbourhood, becoming one of the key factors that have helped to produce a 60 percent drop in attacks in Iraq since June. Such patrols, however, are prime targets for insurgents who are still trying to derail the Government and force US-led troops to leave the country.

Another contributing factor to the decline in bloodshed is a six-month ceasefire ordered by Hojatoleslam Moqtada al-Sadr, the influential Shia cleric, to his al-Mehdi Army in August. The gun freeze, which has been observed to a large extent, is due to expire in February but a spokesman for Hojatoleslam Sadr said this week that the cleric was considering an extension.

In other developments, a car bomb exploded outside an alcohol store in central Baghdad, killing three civilians and wounding another nine, police said.

Torture Center Found in Northern Iraq
U.S. soldiers found mass graves north of Baghdad next to a torture center where chains were attached to blood-spattered walls and a metal bed frame was still connected to an electrical shock system, the military said Thursday.

Separately, at least 13 Iraqis were killed when a suicide bomber targeted a group of people who had gathered around U.S. soldiers handing out holiday gifts, local authorities said. It was not immediately known if any soldiers were killed or wounded.

The grisly discoveries of the mass graves and torture center near Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles north of Baghdad, came during a Dec. 8-11 operation. The torture center, which the U.S. military said it suspected was run by al-Qaida in Iraq, was found based on tips from Iraqis in the area, where the al-Qaida insurgents are very active. Graves containing 26 bodies were found nearby. "We discovered several (weapons) caches, a torture facility that had chains, a bed - an iron bed that was still connected to a battery - knives and swords that were still covered in blood as we went in to go after the terrorists in that area," said Army Maj. Gen. Mark P. Hertling, the top U.S. commander in northern Iraq.

New police chief for Iraq's Babel province
(KUNA) -- Iraq's Interior Minister Jawad Al-Bulani has appointed a new chief for the Babel province after the late commander Major-General Qais al-Mamouri was assassinated with companions earlier this month. The Minister issued an order promoting Brigadier Fadhel Redam Kazem to the rank of a Major-General and appointing him as a new chief for the Babel police, Ministry Spokesman Major-General Abdul-Karim Khalaf told KUNA on Thursday. A roadside bomb killed al-Mamouri south of Baghdad on December 9, just hours after US military commanders had publicly praised his efforts to secure his region.

Secret life of Gaza's most wanted
Abu Suheib knows that the Israeli drones circling overhead are searching for him, spies are eyeing him from the shadows and that his life will likely end in the fireball of a midnight airstrike. "I know that I could die at any moment, at any place," the 28-year old senior leader in the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement says. But "we must fight until the Day of Judgment."

Israel has vowed to kill men like Abu Suheib, fighters who use rocket attacks to try to liberate Palestine from the long and illegal Israeli occupation. Earlier this week, Israel killed 12 Palestinian militants in a storm of air strikes. Among them was Majed al-Harazin, the 38-year-old chief of the Al-Quds Brigades -- Abu Suheib's group -- the most senior militant killed in months. Islamic Jihad has vowed to exact dire revenge™ with a wave of rocket attacks and suicide bombings, and Abu Suheib says the movement will endure. "For every one of us that gets killed we have 50 who can take his place," he says.

For a man who has been on Israel's most wanted list for six years, Abu Suheib (his nom de guerre) seems remarkably calm as he guzzles sips coffee and chain smokes a cigarette near the back of a kebab restaurant in Gaza City. In fact, his eyes rarely glance towards the two dour young men in black shirts and caps watching the door. Outside, a man sits low in a car parked across the street, scanning the road and appearing to speak into a walkie-talkie.

Abu Suheib, a short, stocky man with a trimmed black beard, never sleeps at home and only sees his wife and three small children about once a month. They know virtually nothing about his life, except that he is a fighter. He only communicates via text messages, "because if you use a phone the planes can find you," he says.

He and his comrades have secret names for places and people, rendezvous points from Beit Lahiya in the north to Rafah on the Egyptian border, and "the entire Palestinian people support us," he adds.

They blend in easily, disappearing in Gaza's packed cities and swollen refugee camps. Some people, however, prefer to keep their distance. When moving from safe house to safe house "we either walk or we take taxis," he says, adding that the drivers never know who he is. "If they know they will not take us; they will be scared."

He knows the risks of his occupation better than most of Gaza's militants because in 2005 he barely survived an air strike that was supposed to kill him. "There are spies everywhere. I left a meeting with other leaders, and when I was only 150 metres (yards) away from the house the missile hit our car, killing the three people who were with me," he says. "The explosion blew the door open, and I was thrown five or six metres away from the car."

He lost most of his right leg in the explosion and his face and torso are wrinkled with scars. He walks with a cane, but his face lights up at the thought of returning to the battlefield to help liberate his country from Israel’s occupation.

When asked if he is concerned about reports that Israel is mulling another full-scale invasion of Gaza his round face curls into a smile. "Ahlan wa sahlan," he says, using a typical Arabic greeting meaning welcome. "If they come I will fight them, and if they kill me I will die as a martyr to God. I will go to heaven," he said.

Abu Suheib says all of Gaza's factions -- even the ousted Fatah party of president Mahmud Abbas -- fight as one. He claims, along with many Israeli military experts, that militants are prepared for an invasion and are ready to deploy new weapons, including sophisticated remotely detonated tank mines.

Abu Suheib says he would support a two-state solution to the conflict, if Israel halted its operations. "When Abu Mazen (Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas) told us to stop firing missiles we stopped, but the Israelis kept attacking us," he says.

In the meantime, he envisions a long struggle, the end of which he will most likely not live to see. "My (four-year-old) son sees the planes. He tells me, 'the planes came and shot at people,'" Abu Suheib says. "He will be in the resistance when he is older, just like me."

Four Palestinians killed in fighting with Israelis
Four Palestinian fighters were killed Thursday in clashes with Israeli soldiers, Palestinian medical sources said. Israel Defense Forces earlier confirmed that Palestinian militants and Israeli troops traded fire in Gaza on Thursday, saying the soldiers hit at least two Palestinians.

Israeli troops have been carrying out operations in central Gaza to thwart militants who've been launching Qassam rockets into Israel and to combat Palestinians operating near the Israeli-Gaza border. According to the IDF, three Qassam rockets were fired into Israel on Thursday, with one of the rockets falling near an elementary school.

Israel's recent military activities against Gaza-based militants may be having an impact. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said Wednesday that he would be willing to negotiate a cease-fire deal with Israel. Such a deal would call for Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel and for an end to the Israeli military's targeted killings of Palestinian militants, Haniyeh said.

Israeli President Shimon Peres called Haniyeh's comments a "pathetic attempt to move international attention from the crimes of the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad of shooting at innocent civilians," and said that if militants stopped firing rockets, then "Israel will immediately hold its fire so there is no need for negotiations."

Soldier seriously wounded in Gaza
An IDF soldier was seriously wounded and at least seven Palestinians were killed during clashes in the central Gaza Strip on Thursday. Palestinians fired six Kassam rockets into Israel, including one that landed next to an elementary school in Sderot while the pupils were learning.

In amateur video of the rocket attack, taken from inside the school, the sound of the explosion is clearly heard. Children scream and cry as a teacher tries to round them up and guide them to a safe location. No one was wounded in that attack but several children were treated for shock.

Late Wednesday night, troops from the Golani Brigade, backed by tanks and Engineering Corps units, swept into the central Gaza Strip in search of terrorists involved in planting bombs along the border fence and in Kassam rocket attacks against towns in the western Negev. Palestinian gunmen launched mortars at the approaching troops and fired at IAF aircraft with machine guns as IDF snipers took up positions on the roofs of homes in the area, witnesses said. Four soldiers from the Golani Brigade were wounded, including one seriously, when a rocket-propelled grenade hit the home in which the force had taken up positions. The soldiers were airlifted to Beersheba's Soroka Hospital for medical treatment.

Reuters soundman Nihad Odehtallah was shot in the leg while covering Thursday's clashes, and was taken to an Israeli hospital.
Thursday's violence came just days after the IDF killed 12 Palestinian terrorists in a series of air strikes, including the top Islamic Jihad military leadership in Gaza. Reuters soundman Nihad Odehtallah was shot in the leg while covering Thursday's clashes, and was taken to an Israeli hospital. His wounds were not life-threatening. It was not clear whether Odehtallah was wounded by IDF or Palestinian fire, the news agency said.

Hamas said that four gunmen, including two of its own operatives, were killed in clashes and many more wounded at the al-Marazi refugee camp. The IDF confirmed that soldiers had clashed with Islamic Jihad and Hamas gunmen and killed at least four of them who were spotted approaching the security fence.

#1  "landed next to an elementary school in Sderot while the pupils were learning."

Somebody should note who these elementary school students are, and check on them again in about 10 years; it would be an interesting psychology/social science study to see how they all develop in response to this kind of traumatic event in their most vulnerable formative years. How many will grow up afraid and how many aggressive? Then find a similarly traumatized group in a different environment - say suburban Boston instead of Gaza fringe - and see how the passive/aggressive distribution compares: if it's the same, then it's 'nature', but if it's different it's probably 'nurture.'

Southeast Asia
Egyptian 'explosive expert' not our member - MILF
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Friday said that an Egyptian national who was arrested on suspicion of having ties with al-Qaeda is not a member of the separatist group.

Radio reports quoted MILF spokesman Eid Kabalu as denying even knowing Mohamad Said, who was arrested early Wednesday morning after police found a number of explosive devices and bomb-making materials inside his apartment in Cotabato City. Kabalu also said they have no idea how Said, known by his aliases Mohamad Sayed and Abu Hussien, got a hold of a copy of the MILF booklet that police recovered from him.

Aside from the booklet, several explosive devices were also confiscated from the Egyptian national. But Said denied owning any of the seized items. He is currently being subjected to a tactical investigation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police, reports said.

Police also said they have yet to determine whether Said has any links to the Jema’ah Islamiyah, the al-Qaeda arm in Southeast Asia. Said reportedly told investigators that he previously stayed in the country for two years before going back to his homeland. He also claimed that when the arrest happened, he has just gone back from Egypt to teach Islam in Cotabato City.

Jakarta urged to halt terror trial
Defence lawyers for the alleged ringleader of a South-East Asian group blamed for a string of deadly attacks in recent years say his trial in Indonesia in connection with the 2002 Bali bombings should be dismissed. Abu Dujana, who admits being the head of Jemaah Islamiyah's military wing, appeared in a Jakarta court on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the Bali attack and several others blamed on the group.

In addition to the Bali bombings, JI is accused of attacking the Australian embassy in Jakarta in 2004 and car bombing the city's JW Marriot hotel a year earlier. Abu Dujana is accused of "plotting terrorist activities" and sheltering the men who carried out the Bali bombings. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. His arrest in June, along with Zarkasih, JI's leader, was a triumph for Indonesian authorities. Police also seized two large caches of explosives, which they said were controlled by Abu Dujana, and used to attack Christians on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

But Abu Dujana's lawyers say the case against him has been improperly presented and have challenged the court's jurisdiction, saying his case should not be heard in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, as the alleged crimes took place in other

28 rebels slain in series of clashes in Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan troops have killed 28 Tamil Tiger rebels in a series of clashes in the island’s north in 24 hours, the military said on Thursday, amid near daily clashes as renewed civil war deepens.

Four rebels were killed in two clashes in the northern Jaffna peninsula on Thursday morning, while 24 were killed in three confrontations in the northern districts of Mannar, Vavuniya and and Jaffna on Wednesday, the military said. “Troops went forward and attacked two bunkers in Kilali (on the Jaffna peninsula). Two Tigers were killed and two soldiers were injured,” said military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara.

“Also in Nagarkovil in Jaffna troops observed two Tigers coming towards the forward defence line and opened fire, killing them,” he added. “On Wednesday, 24 were killed.” The Tigers were not immediately available for comment, but nearly always dismiss death toll figures given by the military. There was no independent confirmation of the death toll or what really happened.
