[RedState] Why the CIA? Because though we know some, in the quaint words of FBI attorney Lisa Page in her texts to the adulterous Peter Strzok, "OCONUS lures" were approved, there seems to have been an unseemly amount of collaboration with foreign intelligence services in this whole mess. For instance, Christopher Steele’s professional associations were at least as strong with CIA as with the FBI. The whole incident involving George Papadopoulos seems almost entirely an intelligence undertaking. Joseph Mifsud was a Western intelligence asset...most likely Italian. He’s the guy who planted the story with Papadopoulos about the "dirt" the Russians had on Hillary Clinton. Alexander Downer, the former Australian diplomat who had an oh so casual conversation with Papadopoulos in a London bar and reported on that conversation to his superiors, is thought to be an MI6 asset. And we have to wonder why a senior Australian officials felt obliged to report this rumor through intelligence channels. Later on a mysterious woman, ’Azra Turk,’ was dangled in front of Papadopoulos in what appeared to have been an abortive ’honey pot’ operation, something much more in keeping with an intelligence rather than a law enforcement operation.
And, of course, former CIA Director John Brennan was a driving force in the mainstreaming of the Steele Dossier, despite his own agency calling it an ’internet rumor,’ into the Russia Hoax an he has been one of the most vociferous voices pushing that Hoax in the media. And, because Brennan can’t have acted alone, that raises a host of questions about the actions of the CIA...especially considering that it is a CIA officer, Eric Ciarmarella, who acted as the "whistleblower" that set off the impeachment of President Trump.
But, as I note above, the walls seem to be closing in on Brennan and that has caused one of the leading purveyors of the Russia Hoax, Natasha Bertrand, to write a story basically framing this as a loyalty test for CIA Director Gina Haspel. The messenger, here, is the message. Bertrand was an uncritical stenographer for Fusion GPS to the extent that you often see her referred to as "Fusion Natasha."

Natasha Bertrand is very likely going to end up working for Glenn Simpson's Fusion GPS - if she isn't already on their payroll.
The path is clear:
1) establish your pro-Democratic bona fides as a partisan reporter;
2) cultivate allies within the DNC, FBI and CIA;
3) set up shop as an "oppo research" consultancy with a book of business from your sources in exchange for lies and tall tales about Trump and other targets.
“In my 40 years in public life, I have always complied with a lawful order.
“But I am just not going to pretend that there is any legal basis for Republican subpoenas for my testimony in the impeachment trial.” said Biden.https://t.co/hJ5nnnWTYf

GOP can take it to the courts and the courts will most likely side with them that they need to respond or be arrested. This is what Schiff should have done except in a fishing expedition there was less certainty that the courts would side with him.

The House recently passed a series of bills banning offshore energy development, a significant source of employment for blue-collar Americans. Fueled by environmental fervor, these lawmakers are willing to sacrifice opportunities for their most important constituents.
There could be up to 90 billion barrels of oil and 328 trillion cubic feet of gas buried beneath federally owned sections of the ocean floor. That’s enough oil and natural gas to power the United States for over a decade. Ideally, energy companies would lease these underwater lands from the government and extract this bounty.
Unfortunately, the Obama administration outlawed energy development in over 90% of federal offshore territories. This policy prevents companies from accessing energy riches in the Arctic, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans — as well as the Gulf of Mexico.
Soon after taking office, President Trump vowed to lift this ban and revamp offshore energy production. But House Democrats are doing their best to stop him. The bills they passed last month would ban energy development off of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Alaskan coasts.
These policies deny working-class Americans prime employment opportunities. Jobs in the offshore sector often don’t require a college degree, are largely immune to outsourcing, and pay an average salary north of $110,000. Even under existing federal constraints, offshore development supports 300,000 jobs.
Never gonna pass the senate... But what is throwing your base under the bus worth now, huh?
[Daily Caller] 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Cory Spartacus Booker said Saturday that abortion rights shouldn’t matter to men just because of their female relatives and friends, but because "women are people."
Booker has been outspoken about his support for abortion. The Democratic New Jersey senator promised to codify Roe v. Wade, to make abortion drugs available over the counter, to repeal the Hyde Amendment, and said he would not consider a running-mate who does not support abortion.
"Abortion rights shouldn’t matter to men because women are our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends," Booker tweeted. "They should matter to men ‐ to everyone ‐ because women are people."
The Booker campaign did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
