The suspect began arguing with the 48-year-old woman about her roommate around 9:10 p.m. Thursday inside an apartment building on East 180th Street in the Bronx, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said Sunday.

Holland had to be tased during the bust. "Lend me yer taser, Fritz! Mine's on the... you know."
When police searched the bed of his truck, they found several large coolers and discovered there were human remains stashed inside — including the severed head, the outlet said. "Hey! Is this your head?"
"Nope. This one's mine... And stop tasing me!"
Holland now faces murder charges and is due to appear in Las Vegas court Monday. ”Whereas the defendant being found in possession of a human head not his own..."

[Breitbart] A Finnish Tesla owner received a repair bill totaling almost half of what he initially paid for the car. His response? Have YouTubers blow up the car with 66 pounds of dynamite and post the video rather than pay the hefty bill.
The Verge reports that a Finnish Tesla owner named Tuomas Katainen recently received a quote on having the battery in his 2013 Tesla Model S vehicle replaced. He was shocked by the bill of $22,600, perhaps not knowing Tesla’s notorious reputation for massive repair costs. Katainen discussed his experience with the car stating: "Well when I bought that Tesla, the first 1,500km [932 miles] were nice. Then, error codes hit."

At sometime those magical electrical cars have got to have their batteries replaced, not to mention disposed of (as in NIMBY).

Ideally, a market for replacement batteries would lead to third-party vendors and some price competition. In practice, the market is tiny and Tesla would probably fight it tooth and nail, just as Crapple does with replacement parts for their slavery-made phones.

[WASHINGTONTIMES] The Brooklyn Museum has added a new feature to its 1776 oil-on-canvas painting of Continental Army Gen. George Washington — a description card that notes his ownership of slaves despite defending the self-evident truth that all men are created equal.
The portrait shows Washington standing in military dress uniform with Boston in the far background. It was painted by Charles Willson Peale and commissioned by Continental Congress President John Hancock just before he famously signed the Declaration of Independence.
The new description card focuses on the "tension between the existence of slavery and the Declaration’s affirmation of freedom and equality" that it is "absent from Peale’s celebrated portrait."
"Washington enslaved more than 300 people prior to and during his tenure as the nation’s first president," the card reads in part.
However, nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits... the museum’s website description of the portrait does not include any mention of slavery. Instead, it points out that Boston stands in the background because Washington had liberated it from the British in March 1776.
"In a diary entry dated July 2, 1776, Peale recorded work on the portrait along with these terse but resonant words: ’This day the Continental Congress declared the United States Colonies Free and Independent States,’" the online description reads in part.
The description card included with the in-person exhibit makes no mention of Boston or this context for the painting.
The Brooklyn Museum did not respond Monday to a request for comment on when the portrait’s description changed and why the online version is different from the on-site text.
Displayed in the American Art galleries on the fifth floor, the portrait is part of a collection of art from 1660-1830 that shows America’s transition from European colonies to independent states.

Slavery was a common form of labor before the industrial revolution around the world. White folk in the New England colonies had to free themselves from the bondage of steep taxation from the Crown before they could build the economy to free all men which occured 4 score and 7 years later.
After George Washington died his wife lived on their plantation in fear because if both husband and wife masters are dead the slaves were freed men.
[BBC] Kelly LeBonty, the rescue group's director, told the Detroit Free Press that the son said his father had initially planned to breed only a handful of birds, but had ended up spending $1,200 (£890) a month on them.

...The identity of The Man Who Never Was has been known for about 25 years now, and the article points that out. Truly hoping this isn't an effort to jump on the bandwagon of the upcoming movie (which, by the by, I cannot wait to see).

NMBS,
Not exactly - the Clifton Webb version, The Man Who Never Was, still holds up as a great flick but was made in 1956 when a lot of the details were still classified. This will cover the same story, but hopefully with more detail.

SEOUL, Dec 27 (Reuters) - South Korea authorised for emergency use Pfizer's (PFE.N) antiviral pills targeting COVID-19 as the first of its kind to be introduced in South Korea, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said on Monday.
[The Hill] White House medical advisor Anthony Fauci said on Sunday ahead of holiday travel, mask wearing on flights may be here indefinitely.
Fauci told Jonathan Karl on ABC’s "This Week" that despite filtration systems on board airplanes, it would be "prudent" for passengers to take the "extra step" within the enclosed space and wear a mask.
"I think when you're dealing with a closed space, even though the filtration is good, that you want to go that extra step when you have people -- you know, you get a flight from Washington to San Francisco, it's well over a five-hour flight," Fauci said, when asked he believed there would be a post pandemic point when passengers will not have to wear masks on flights.
"Even though you have a good filtration system, I still believe that masks are a prudent thing to do, and we should be doing it," he added.
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Political thugs loyal to Senator Elisha Abbo have allegedly assaulted one Silas Daniel, causing him grievous injuries in Adamawa State.
Silas, an estranged former Personal Assistant (PA) to Abbo, was attacked with machetes, daggers and clubs by thugs, allegedly on the order of the politician.
Abbo became infamous in a similar circumstance when he assaulted a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja two years ago. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera.
SaharaReporters learnt that Silas, who is in a critical condition at the Adamawa/German Hospital, Yola, was reportedly manhandled on December 23, 2021, in Vimtim, in the Mubi Local Government Area, during a football competition, which he had sponsored.
SaharaReporters learnt that the football tournament had attracted young people to Silas, which Senator Abbo, saw as a threat to his popularity among the youths.
Narrating his ordeal to SaharaReporters, Silas said, "Senator Abbo had recruited the thugs and detailed them to kill me.
"I parted ways with him when he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC); ever since he's been plotting to harm me.
"When I announced this year's annual football competition on our Fali tribal WhatsApp platform, he (Abbo) opposed it, saying it was improper for an individual to sponsor the event.
"He insisted that the tournament must be taken away from me and managed by Fali Cultural Development Association.
"He had no problems with individual sponsorship of the events previously because I gave credit to him back then when I served as his Personal Assistant.
"Now that we have severed ties, I'm in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he saw the event as a threat to his popularity among the youths, therefore, he wanted it scuttled.
"During the grand finale on December 23, 2021, while a football match was being played at Vintim playground; the senator's thugs, led by one of the coppers attached to him, pounced on me with machetes, daggers and clubs.

"Slumps, Dies In Nigerian Police Custody" is merely a long and complicated way of saying "Dies In Police Custody." Maybe the Nigerian Police aren't big fans of people who are found with human skulls?
[BBC] Amazon has updated its Alexa voice assistant after it "challenged" a 10-year-old girl to touch a coin to the prongs of a half-inserted plug.
The suggestion came after the girl asked Alexa for a "challenge to do".
"Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs," the smart speaker said.
Amazon said it fixed the error as soon as the company became aware of it.
The girl's mother, Kristin Livdahl, described the incident on Twitter.
She said: "We were doing some physical challenges, like laying down and rolling over holding a shoe on your foot, from a [physical education] teacher on YouTube earlier. Bad weather outside. She just wanted another one."
That's when the Echo speaker suggested partaking in the challenge that it had "found on the web".
The dangerous activity, known as "the penny challenge", began circulating on TikTok and other social media websites about a year ago.

Was hoping to get some Valheim time, but as I teach my kids, real life first. Back it was still quite young, saw someone/group had re-created Helm's Deep. Pretty neat, nicely done.

[REGNUM] About 4,600 Kosovars renounced their citizenship in 2021 for this separatist entity. This was reported on December 27 by Radio Kosovo 1.
The Kosovo Interior Ministry says the main reason for renouncing Kosovo citizenship is that many foreign states, mainly EU countries, do not allow their citizens to hold dual citizenship. Thus, those have to give up their Kosovar passports.
"Many EU countries do not allow dual citizenship, as do some non-EU countries. Since a large number of our citizens have been living in these countries for years, and many were born there, they are obliged to renounce their previous citizenship if they want to obtain the citizenship of the country in which they live," an employee of the press service of the Kosovo Behar Hazirai .
Recall that in 2020, about 3,600 people renounced Kosovo citizenship.
