[ShabelleMedia] A top military court in Somalia on Saturday announced prison sentences against convicted ISIS operatives held for terrorism charges.
Abdikani Aden Ali (Elmi) and Ahmed Ali Dirie (Moallim Ahmed), each received 8 years of imprisonment for playing role in Mogadishu attacks, according to court verdict.
The defendants were detained by security forces in October this year during an operation in Dharkenley District and held in police custody for questioning.
They fell to police hands while plotting kabooms in the capital. The capture of one carrying hand grenades in a plastic bag led to the arrest of the second who was in a Mosque waiting to take over the bombs.
The military court said the two have one month to appeal against the ruling, if failed they will serve the prison terms.

"Six of my pirate friends managed to capture a ship and they will bring it to the coast of the eastern region of Puntland," Mukhtar Mohamud said by phone from the coastal city of Qandala.
He did not name the vessel and Puntland's maritime authorities had no immediate comment.

"EUNAVFOR remains vigilant to this and other recent piracy-related events in the area of operations, the northwest Indian Ocean and the Red Sea."
The force added that it was coordinating with the broader international naval Combined Maritime Force.
British maritime security company Ambrey said it believed the Ruen had been hijacked by pirates.
Earlier on Friday, Britannia’s maritime body UKMTO said it had received a report from a ship's security officer who believed the crew no longer had control of a vessel that was currently headed towards Somalia.
The Ruen is managed by Bulgaria's Navigation Maritime Bulgare, according to data on the public shipping database Equasis.
The vessel was last seen underway in the open sea sailing towards Somalia at 1426 GMT, according to ship tracking data on LSEG.

The naval force said they are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with other agencies. “The Indian Navy remains committed to being a first responder in the region and ensuring the safety of merchant shipping, along with international partners and friendly foreign countries,” it said.
In a recent tweet, the European Union Naval Force said, “Based on first information available on MV RUEN, #OperationAtalanta Flagship ESPS #VICTORIA is proceeding fast towards the alleged pirate-hijacked vessel to gain more awareness & evaluate following actions, also in coordination with @CMF_Bahrain.”
The UK Maritime Operations has advised vessels to safely transit and report any suspicious activity.

The USS Carney, an American destroyer, intercepted 14 drones launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. They "were shot down with no damage to ships in the area or reported injuries," U.S. Central Command said.
The British HMS Diamond also destroyed a drone that was "targeting merchant shipping," said U.K. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps.
He added that attacks on fat merchantmen by Yemen’s Houthi rebels "represent a direct threat to international commerce and maritime security."
"The U.K. remains committed to repelling these attacks to protect the free flow of global trade," he said in a statement.
Global shipping has become a major target during the war between Israel and Hamas, which like the Houthis is backed by Iran.

The rules of engagement don’t seem to allow anything other than downing the drones. Maybe they will change them once their offensive action against us kills some sailors. Probably sleep in my flash gear until then.

[Rudaw] At least two people died when a boat carrying over 60 migrants colonists capsized in the English Channel off the coast of La Belle France overnight on Thursday. One of the dead is a young man from the Kurdistan Region.
Rawezh Rauf, 22, was from the Raparin administration in Sulaimani province. His family held a memorial service and called on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to facilitate the return of his body so that he can be buried in their hometown of Hajiawa.
"We need the government’s assistance to return Rawezh’s body to alleviate the great tragedy we have endured. Help us bury our dear Rawezh at home," Hassan Omar, a relative, told Rudaw’s Abubakir Ismael.
Rawezh and two of his cousins left the Kurdistan Region in the hopes of migrating to Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... around two months ago. The cousins were also on the capsized boat, but have been rescued and are receiving treatment in a hospital in La Belle France.
The mass migration of Kurdistan Region youths through illegal smuggling routes has surged in recent years, with a large number of them coming from Raparin. Officials from the administration have blamed a lack of services and job opportunities for the mass exodus.
Bakir Ali, head of the Association of Returned Migrants from Europe, said in December that in the past nine years, more than 34,000 out of the Region’s 153,600 migrants colonists came from Raparin.
Over 3,200 people migrated from Raparin in 2022, and nearly 3,000 more have left since the start of the year, according to Ali. They range in age from 16 years to over 50 and most begin their journeys after obtaining visas for Poland, Hungary, or Bosnia and Herzegovina, he added.
Over 750,000 people have left Iraq since 2015, according to data from the Summit Foundation for Refugee and Displaced Affairs (Lutka), which documented at least 319 migrant deaths during that period. The whereabouts of 326 others remain unknown.
According to data from the Association of Returned Migrants from Europe, more than 550 migrants colonists have either drowned or gone missing over the past nine years, out of which over 150 are from Raparin.
[IsraelTimes] Canada’s national police force says a youth in Ottawa was arrested and charged with terrorism-related offenses that allegedly targeted Jewish people.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police says the young person arrested Friday was charged with facilitating terrorist activity by communicating instructional material related to an explosive substance.
The youth is further charged with knowingly instructing a person to carry out terrorist activity against "Jewish persons."
Police do not release further details about the alleged offenses. Officials also say no further information about the youth could be released due to the suspect’s age.
In a news release, the national police force says it is seeing a concerning trend of violent mostly peaceful extremism and terrorist use of the internet, including among young people.

"There has been a rise in antisemitism in Ottawa in recent weeks."
He adds police will continue to patrol synagogues and other Jewish institutions.
The youth, who cannot be named because he is a minor, appeared in an Ottawa courthouse on Saturday morning to face two charges.
He was taken into custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for Monday morning.
Police did not identify a specific target of the alleged attack.
Two national security sources said the alleged plot was believed to be religiously motivated against the Jewish community.
A man who identified himself as the youth’s father Saturday said he “did not know what happened.”
The man, whom Global News is not naming so as not to identify the minor, said that the youth’s mother told him he was picked up by the RCMP on suspicion he was planning an attack on Jewish people.
The television report attached to the article said the boy is 15 and in Grade 10, that the parents were trying to set up an appointment with a local imam for counseling, and that someone connected with ISIS was advising the lad. The father has a strong Indian subcontinent accent.

The raids are still underway in close coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at seven locations in Kashmir and one in Jammu, said sources privy to the development.
The agency sleuths are carrying out these raids at Shopian and Baramulla, among other areas. The places searched included the residents and other hideouts of the suspects linked to the case.
The raids were conducted days after the central agency arrested an accused in the Pakistain-backed terrorism case involving the delivery of weapons through drones to snuffies active in Kashmir.
The agency had shared the input on November 29 after a team from the NIA Jammu Branch nabbed 22-year-old namely Zakir Hussain of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on November 27.

One of the seven accused arrested earlier had died due to cardiac arrest while in judicial custody while two Pakistain-based terror operatives are absconding.
NIA is continuing with its investigations in the matter to unravel the bigger conspiracy of Pakistain-backed terrorist groups to carry out acts of terror and violence in the Kashmir valley and across India. (ANI)

In Deir Ammar, a refugee camp northwest of Ramallah, the official Paleostinian news agency WAFA reports that a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed while confronting Israeli forces.
In Tulkarem and the neighboring Nour Shams refugee camp, where reports indicate soldiers are carrying out a nighttime raid, a 25-year-old man died after being shot earlier in the day, the Ma’an news outlet reports. According to reports, Israel carried out a dronezap during the fighting.
Ma’an also reports that a 20-year-old man was killed by a bullet to the stomach while battling Israeli troops near Beit Ummar, outside of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
In Jenin, WAFA reports that a man injured in a dronezap during a nearly 3-day raid in the northern West Bank city earlier in the week has died of his wounds.
There is no comment from the Israeli military.
According to Ma’an, 291 Paleostinian have been killed in the West Bank since October 7.

"Save it for different roads and junctions at a different time," he says. "There is no place for politics here. From now on shout ’now’ instead of ’shame,'" adds the man, who does not introduce himself to the crowd.
The Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum supports a new agreement with Hamas. But other families with relatives held in Gaza, including those represented by the Tkumah forum, are not pushing for a deal, arguing instead for military action or an agreement with terms better than those understood to be the minimum now acceptable to Hamas.
[IsraelTimes] Some 100 people holding signs advocating for uncompromising warfare against Hamas rally in Tel Aviv, facing off with demonstrators chanting “ceasefire now.”
The demonstrations on Begin Road, opposite the Kirya military base, underline growing divides in Israeli society over the war with Hamas, which after erupting on October 7 prompted displays of unity following nine months of a wave of protests against the government’s judicial overhaul that rocked Israeli society.
Members from the two rallies trade insults, in scenes reminiscent of those protests. One woman shouts at the protesters: “What you’re doing is at the expense of the lives of the hostages.”
Another shouts: “Have you no shame, you swine!”
Police separate the two groups, but a woman from the demonstration supporting a deal with Hamas approaches the other and cries out, “Would you also say nothing if your daughter were held hostage?”
One of her ideological rivals, Eyal Lahiani from Beit Shemesh, tells her: “I support freeing the hostages but only through military action.”
The rally of people who oppose a deal with Hamas is taking place for the second consecutive week, Lahiani says, and is led by a hawkish group called the Mothers’ March.
Hamas issues an official statement saying the terror group will not agree to another deal for the release of hostages it’s holding in Gaza “unless the agression against our people stops once and for all.”
The statement says Hamas has communicated this stance to mediators.

[IsraelTimes] The IDF and Shin Bet security agency say that over the last few days, Israeli forces detained some 90 terror operatives at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, and seized numerous weapons.
The joint statement says some of those detained at the hospital, which allegedly served as a Hamas base, participated in the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.
Troops of the 460th Armored Brigade and Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit raided the hospital, locating weapons, including assault rifles, RPGs, explosive devices, and military equipment belonging to Hamas operatives, the IDF says.
The statement says Shin Bet agents and interrogators of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 questioned hospital employees, who admitted that weapons were hidden inside incubators in the maternity ward.

[Ynet] IDF forces found weapons concealed in incubators inside a Gaza Strip medical center, the army revealed on Saturday, highlighting the use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes by Palestinian terrorist groups.
In a statement, the IDF said recently completed, in cooperation with the Shin Bet security agency, a large-scale operation at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, which had been utilized by Hamas as a command and control center.
The operation, extending over several days, led to the discovery and destruction of extensive terror infrastructure. A variety of weapons were located, including AK-47s, anti-tank missiles, explosive devices, military equipment of Hamas' Nukhba force, technological devices and documents linked to Hamas intelligence.
A notable aspect of the operation was the IDF and Shin Bet's interrogation of hospital staff, who revealed that weapons were concealed in incubators within the NICU — incubators meant for the care of premature infants. This led to the subsequent discovery of additional weapons, classified documents and tactical communication devices hidden in the hospital.

How sweet.
Al Jazeera said that Abu Daqqa, a cameraman, and Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... bureau chief Wael al-Dahdouh were maimed in a school in Khan Younis, where they were hit by "shrapnel from an Israeli missile attack."
All the schools in Gaza are set up as Hamas fighting positions, even the ones that are Hamas command centers. Which means that the two Al Jazeera employees were either working a second career for Hamas or they were willing human shields. Either way, their deaths, according to international law, were caused by Hamas, not Israel.
In a subsequent statement condemning the Israeli military, Al Jazeera attributed the injuries to a dronezap.
Proximate cause, not ultimate cause.
"Following Samer’s injury, he was left to bleed to death for over 5 hours, as Israeli forces prevented ambulances and rescue workers from reaching him, denying the much-needed emergency treatment," the network charged.
Hamas ambulances — and Palestinian ambulances in general — are more often used to transport weapons and fighters than those needing medical treatment. The Israelis have over time learnt to be suspicious.
Al-Dahdouh was maimed in the arm and transferred to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, according to an AFP journalist.
In a news update, Al Jazeera said al-Dahdouh was able to leave the area of the strike to look for help, "but by the time he reached an ambulance, medics said they could not return to the site of the attack because it was too dangerous."
Wars are funny like that. If only Hamas had not started the war on October 7th — then it would have been safe for the ambulance to proceed.
The Israeli army did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment.
“Y’all are vicious, posturing idiots. Get outta my face — don’t you know there’s a war on?!”
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... killed a US Agency for International Development contractor in Gazoo last month, his colleagues have alleged in a statement.
In other words, a local Palestinian. Was he also on the Hamas payroll, or merely a willing or unwilling human shield? Or possibly he was also feeding information to Israel...
Hani Jnena, 33, was killed November 5 along with his wife, their 2-year-old and 4-year-old daughters, and her family, the US-based humanitarian group Global Communities says.
An internet-technology worker, Jnena had fled his neighborhood in Gaza City with his family to escape the airstrikes, only to be killed while sheltering with his in-laws, the group says. His employer was an on-the-ground partner for USAID, the US agency says.
The same questions can be asked about Mr. Jnena’s in-laws and his employer. We’ll decide how we feel about his death when we know the answers. Although in the end, War is hell sums it up. or perhaps, Life ain’t fair.
The Washington Post first reported the death.
In a final message to a colleague, Jnena had written, "my daughters are terrified, and I am trying to keep them calm, but this bombing is terrifying," Global Communities says.
USAID employees have been prominent in recent open letters by US babus government employees objecting to US policy in support of Israel’s continued offensive, including President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier... ’s decision not to join many other governments in calling for a ceasefire.

And got hit back at least as hard, whatever the real numbers actually are — Hezbollah is trying to show they’re a fearsome participant in the game without getting properly stuck in, while Israel is reminding them to keep their heads down until it’s their turn — after Hamas is finished.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Hezbollah disclosed on Friday the number of military operations against Israel since the start of the al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
Hezbollah’s military media confirmed in a statement on Friday evening that the Islamic Resistance® in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... had carried out 509 operations targeting 58 Zionist sites and barracks since the beginning of the al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
The statement pointed out that the Lebanese resistance fighters carried out 209 operations with guided missiles, 9 air attacks, 43 missile attacks, and 35 attacks with "Burkan" missiles.
The Lebanese resistance has been continuing to target the Zionist occupation forces and their vehicles in several Israeli locations along the Lebanese-Paleostinian border since the day following the start of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation.
This forced the occupation to evacuate the settlements on the northern Paleostinian border with Lebanon, which had not been evacuated since 1948, that is, since the "establishment" of the occupying entity in the occupied land of Paleostine.
The Israeli occupation media continues to talk about the frustration that prevails in the settlements in northern occupied Paleostine, amid increasing criticism towards the Israeli government and fear of continued targeting by the Islamic Resistance® in Lebanon.

It said the accused had handed classified information to a "Mossad officer" with the aim of "propaganda for groups and organizations opposed to the Islamic Theocratic Republic". It did not say where the alleged handover had taken place.
It was not clear when the person was arrested, but IRNA said an appeal had been rejected.
