[Khaama Press] A top leader of the notorious Haqqani terrorist network was killed along with dozens of other holy warriors in an operation in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan.
According to the local officials, the operation was conducted in the vicinity of Nerkh district of Wardak by the Afghan Special Forces.
Provincial governor’s front man Abdul Rahman Mangsal said the Afghan forces conducted a night operation late on Tuesday night, leaving more than 20 Lions of Islam dead.
He said several commanders of the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... group were also among those killed in the operation.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... another official said more than 30 Lions of Islam including a top leader of the Haqqani terrorist network Qari Qudrullah were killed.
The anti-government armed bully boy groups including the Taliban Lions of Islam have not commented regarding the report so far.
Maidan Wardak is among the relatively volatile provinces in central parts of the country, located close to capital Kabul.
The anti-government armed holy warriors are actively operating in its various districts and often carry out insurgency activities, mainly in the districts lying along the highway connecting Kabul with the southeastern and southern provinces.
[Khaama Press] The Afghan cops have responded to the heavy shelling from across the Durand Line in eastern Kunar province ... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country..... of Afghanistan, the local officials said.
Provincial security and government officials are saying that the retaliatory move by the Afghan border police has resulted into a reduction of the shelling over the populated areas.
Kunar police chief Gen. Juma Gul Hemat said the Afghan border police forces responded to the shelling with heavy artillery fire.
He said the shelling was done by the militia forces of Pakistain and in response the Afghan forces fired artillery shells on the compound of the Pakistain militias, apparently incurring casualties.
Provincial governor wahidullah Kalimzai also confirmed the retaliatory move by the Afghan border police and said the shelling from the across the line has halted for the moment.
This comes as the commander of the US forces in Afghanistan General John Nicholson who is also the commander of the NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants... -led Resolute Support Mission in reaction to the latest shelling by the Pak military had earlier said that the Pak military should share the information regarding the terror groups rather than opting to cross-border shelling.

A security official confirmed that a jacket wallah detonated his explosives close to the residence of a security official.
The official further added that the information received by him shows that 6 people were killed and 8 others were maimed in the attack.
However, some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... the provincial public health officials are saying that the dead bodies of at least eight people have been shifted to the hospital so far along with 15 others who have sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses in the area earlier had said that the blast was triggered by a suicide kaboom and there are fears that several people are either maimed or killed.
No individual or group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.
Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan although terrorist related incidents often take place in some of its districts including the quiet provincial capital Jalalabad city.

According to the local officials, the incident took place recently in the restive Achin district.
The provincial government media office in a statement the incident took place in Surkhab Bazar area of Mamand Dara in Achin.
The statement further added that the ISIS fighters beheaded their 15 comrades after an infighting erupted among them due to unknown reasons.
According to the provincial government, the beheading of the fifteen men has resulted into a major crack among the ISIS ranks in this province and there are fears more violence and infighting among the group.
The anti-government armed murderous Moslem groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

[RadioShabelle] Heavily armed Al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... forces of Evil have launched an overnight attack on military bases belonging to Somali government forces and their allied KDF troops near Kenyan border.
The raid took place on the outskirts of Dhoobley town in Lower Jubba region.
The assault has led to hours-long gunbattle between the two warring sides who exchanged heavy and small weaponry during the confrontation, according to the locals.
Al-Shabaab has claimed victory over the attack on the military camps, though it did not confirm the casualties on its side and as well as the allied forces.
The situation in the area has returned to normal on Thursday morning following the fighting and the Somali military forces remained in control after repelling the attack.

Until the row, he was close to the current al-Shabaab supremo Ahmed Diriye and Mahad Karate, also known as Abdirahim Mohammed Warsame, who commanded Shabaab’s Amniyat, its intelligence wing, when button men stormed Garissa University College and killed 147 students in April 2015.
In the video clips, which are unavailable after they were pulled down by YouTube, Iman says the killings were carried out to avenge the killing of radical Moslemholy mans.
In those videos, he named the holy mans as Aboud Rogo, Samir Khan and Sheikh Abubakar Shariff alias Makaburi.
International security sources operating in Somalia told the Nation that Iman has been the head of a group of imported muscle who together with him, are now on the run from the main group loyal to Diriye and Karate.
A number of Kenyans and other foreigners who joined al-Shabaab snuffies in Somalia have since been captured and executed.
On November 6, a 25-year-old Kenyan from Garissa was among four people who were publicly executed by the snuffies in Somalia.
Omar Adar Omar was killed by firing squad on accusations of spying for the Africa Union Mission in Somalia, which comprises the Kenya Defence Forces.
The fall-out is further complicated after the emergence of a faction that has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. The Nation has further learnt that Iman, in a bid to escape from Somalia, has evaded several dragnets to capture him.
Al-Shabaab is well known for executing bully boyz within its own ranks whenever there is a fallout.
The latest developments are a repeat of what happened to Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, who was killed in a set up laid by Godane Ahmed Abdi Godane alias Mukhtar Abu Zubeyr, who was Diriye’s predecessor.
Godane was later killed in a joint operation by US and KDF in Somalia.
Besides assuming the role of commander of imported muscle in Somalia, Iman also has a great influence in Jaish Ayman, another al-Shabaab faction operating in Boni Forest which spreads across the Kenya-Somalia border in Lamu County.
Furthermore, Iman is also said to be getting foreign funding directly, further angering indigenous Somali commanders, the sources also said.
A 2016 security report published by the Nation, revealed that Iman and accomplices in Nairobi collected millions of shillings every year by renting shops and kiosks in Umoja and Majengo, and the money is smuggled to Somalia to fund terrorism activities.
In one al-Shabaab propaganda video, he was seen clad in KDF uniform, holding a walkie-talkie and an M-16 rifle, which he claimed was one of the arms looted from El-Adde Forward Operating Base, which was overran by the snuffies in January 2016.
Besides Kenya, whose soldiers are operating in southern Somalia, al-Shabaab is also being fought by the US and other countries in Amisom, including Æthiopia, Uganda, Burundi and Djibouti.

[RadioShabelle] A roadside kaboomkaboom in Mogadishu has left at least one Somali soldier dead on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The troops were targeted with an improvised bomb (IED) during a security patrol near Tarabunka junction in the capital’s Hodon district.
Several other soldiers were reported to have been maimed in the IED blast and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the area security officials.

In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, the strike happened at 10:30 a.m. local time about 125 miles northwest of Mogadishu, the country’s capital.
"Al-Shabaab has pledged allegiance to al Qaeda and is dedicated to providing safe haven for terrorist attacks throughout the world," Africom said in a statement that has been used in the past as the United States ramps up Arclight airstrikes in the country.
"Al-Shabaab has publicly committed to planning and conducting attacks against the U.S. and our partners in the region."
The U.S. military has roughly 500 troops in Somalia, double the number of forces from a year ago. The United States also has two new military headquarters in Mogadishu.
New authorities granted to the commanders by President Trump in March has given Africom more authority to conduct Arclight airstrikes and raids against the al Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab. Before, they were only allowed to carry out strikes in defense of partnered forces.
[RadioShabelle] Somali government forces have remained in control of Qoryoley town in Lower Shabelle region after al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... faceless myrmidons stormed an army base there on Tuesday night.
The ambush has sparked a heavy clash between the faceless myrmidons and SNA troops in which an unspecified number of people died, the military said.
Local residents reported a fierce shootout flared up following Al-Shabaab raid on army barracks. The sides exchanged small and heavy weaponry that could be heard from a distance.
The fighting had ended and that the faceless myrmidons had left the town, they said.
Details of the casualties were not immediately known as the military commanders in the region have not released any statement regarding the last night attack in Qoryoley.
[Jpost] A combined bombing and shooting attack at a mosque in the northern Sinai on Friday has caused major casualties, according to Egyptian officials.
A state of emergency was declared across the province following the attack that came as worshipers were conducting their Friday prayers at the Al Rawdah mosque in Bir al-Abed, west of Arish city.
At least 54 were killed and 75 were wounded in the attack, according to a health ministry spokesman.
Egyptian defense officials said the attack began with explosions and then assailants began firing with machine guns into the mosque.
Witnesses said militants entered the mosque, shot the worshipers, lit a vehicle outside the mosque on fire, and then proceeded to close the area to prevent rescue forces from operating.
The Sinai Peninsula has been the arena for increasing violence between the Egyptian military and jihadi militants loyal to ISIS.
In the past, military or police checkpoints and convoys were the preferred tactic.

[PRESSTV] At least 40 people have been detained during a swoop on human trafficking across West Africa, after a video surfaced showing refugees apparently being sold at auction in Libya.
In a statement on Thursday, Interpol said those incarcerated Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! face prosecution for offences including human trafficking, forced labor and child exploitation.
"They are accused of forcing victims to engage in activities ranging from begging to prostitution, with little to no regard for working conditions or human life," the statement read.
Interpol also noted that some 500 people, including 236 minors, had been rescued in simultaneous operations across Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Senegal ... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees... "The results of this operation underline the challenge faced by law enforcement and all stakeholders in addressing human trafficking in the Sahel region ... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas... ," the operation's coordinator Innocentia Apovo said.
The Interpol-led action comes amid global outcry sparked by footage of Africans being sold as slaves in Libya. CNN last week aired footage of a live auction in Libya where black men were being sold for as little as $400 to North African buyers as farmhands.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has recently said that the reported auctions of African refugees in Libya as slaves amounts to "crimes against humanity."

The arrests are just the latest in a series of arrests related to the terror attack in which Islamist brothers Sherif and Said Kouachi bumped off twelve people including two coppers and eight employees of Charlie Hebdo. Some of the arrests were also linked to the Kosher supermarket terror attack committed by Amédy Coulibaly who killed four Jewish men.
A total of thirteen individuals have been arrested in connection with both of the attacks including many who are believed to have provided logistical support to Amédy Coulibaly.
Despite the attacks occurring two and a half years ago, authorities have yet to determine where the murderous Moslems obtained their automatic weaponry. While they have attempted to crack into encrypted messaging applications, so far police have had trouble coming up with any concrete leads.
Military-grade weapons have been found on several occasions in La Belle France in recent months in various raids relating to drugs and organised crime. Last week police arrested four men in the regions of Eure-et-Loir, Eure and Yvelines after locating a massive weapons arsenal that included loaded anti-tank rocket launchers, automatic rifles and other military-style weapons.
While the raids that have turned up such weapons have been primarily linked to drug rings, other countries have noticed an overlap between narco gangs and radical Islamists.
In Germany, authorities arrested nine Syrian asylum seekers in July who were not only linked to radical Islamism but were part of the illegal narcotics scene as well.

[AP] LAHORE, Pakistan ‐ Pakistani authorities acting on a court order released a U.S.-wanted militant Friday who allegedly founded a banned group linked to the 2008 Mumbai, India attack that killed 168 people, his spokesman and officials said.
Hafiz Saeed, who has been designated a terrorist by the U.S. Justice Department and has a $10 million bounty on his head, was released before dawn after the court this week ended his detention in the eastern city of Lahore.
The move outraged Indian authorities, but Saeed’s spokesman Yahya Mujahid confirmed his release, calling it a "victory of truth."
"Hafiz Saeed was under house arrest on baseless allegations and jail officials came to his home last night and told him that he is now free," he said.
Saeed ran the Jamaat-ud-Dawa organization, widely believed to be a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group, which India believes was behind the deadly attack in Mumbai.
Pakistan has been detaining and freeing Saeed off and on since the attack and he and four of his aides were put under house arrest in Lahore in January. His release came after a three-judge panel dismissed the government’s plea to continue his house arrest, which ended Thursday. His aides had been released earlier.
