[Libya Herald] The international community should consider joint tribunals to try Libyan war crimes suspects to end the impunity with which individuals are operating UNSMIL chief Ghassan Salamé has told said the UN Security Council.
In in his second report to Salamé also called for a review of the management of Libya’s frozen assets, which he claimed was causing the country the "silent loss" of hundred of millions of dollars.
"Freezing the assets is one thing", he said, "however, their mismanagement is another. We should revisit how Libya’s external wealth and investments are taken care of, so that they are not silently and gradually lost for future generations".
Impunity and lawlessness continued to prevail across the country, he warned, with increasingly heinous crimes being committed every day. He cautioned that murders such as the recent killings by button men in Abyar and Wirshefana and the civilian dead from the Derna Arclight airstrike were shaking popular faith in the political process. He said he was repeating his call for the Libyan authorities to investigate these incidents and hold the perpetrators to account.
"However, man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... I cannot ignore that such events take place across the country with alarming regularity and I cannot accept that repeated calls for justice go unattended".

Can we start with the people who made it possible? A former president and secty of state?
[Al Jazeera] Trading accounts of Saudis accused of corruption have been frozen, according to a news report, as fears grow among the kingdom's wealthy that offshore bank accounts could also be locked.
Dozens of trading accounts were blocked at the request of the Capital Market Authority, the Saudi government's financial regulatory body, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday citing three anonymous sources with knowledge of the situation.
The move follows the crackdown that began on November 4 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who has locked away Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! more than 200 Saudi elite - including 11 princes and prominent corporate leaders - who are accused of corruption.
The Bloomberg report comes after many private bank accounts of those held were recently seized in Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... . Observers say it is just a matter of time before overseas accounts are also targeted.

[Dhaka Tribune] "Abdullah told me to go to Syria, but I said no. I wanted to see if something could be done here in Bangladesh. Abdullah then said the plane that I fly could be flown to Syria. I said it required two men to pilot the plane that I fly, but it can be done with one just once.
"We could not fly to Syria directly; we would have to fly via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... These are parts of the confession alleged turban Sabbir made before a Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate after being nabbed Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! by RAB.
Court sources earlier said Sabbir had planned to crash an aircraft into the residence of Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina in a similar manner to the infamous terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.
In the statement, Sabbir said it was possible to attack an establishment with a plane during landing but it was impossible during take off.
"It is not possible to attack any establishment in Dhaka if the plane takes off from Dhaka Airport."
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... he said it is possible to target establishments in Dhaka if the plane takes off from Chittagong, Sylhet or Rajshahi. It is possible to hit the establishment by calculating its height.
The plan was made with Abdullah whether the plane could be crashed into the prime minister’s residence.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines First Officer Sabbir Ahmed was arrested on October 26 from Kamalprabha house of Burdwanbari in Mirpur for alleged involvement in turban activities and planning attacks on important establishments.
The Abdullah from the confession is the same Abdullah, 45, who, along with his two wives Fatema, 34, and Nasrin, 32, two sons Omar, 10, and Osama, 3, and two associates, was killed in a suicide kaboom at the same house on September 5.

[Ynet] British Prime Minister Theresa May's front man said on Thursday there was no link between a 400 million pound ($528 million) debt owed to Iran and the fate of a enjugged You have the right to remain silent... Iranian-British aid worker.
The Sun newspaper reported on Wednesday that Iran had given Britannia a series of demands for the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a project manager with the Thomson Rooters Foundation.
The demands from Iran included an insistence Britannia must pay 400 million pounds which the former Shah of Iran paid in 1979 for 1,750 Chieftan tanks and other vehicles, almost none of which were eventually delivered.
We wondered why they wanted precisely that amount.

I did not believe it was possible for a country's lips to fall off.
Zerohedge reports that Turkey has withdrawn its troops from a NATO military drill in Norway after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that his name and the picture of Turkish Republic’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk were used in an "enemy chart".
Anadolu Agency confirms from Ankara that Turkey has withdrawn its troops from a NATO military drill in Norway...
"There was an incident in Norway," Erdogan told ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party members in capital Ankara.
"They used an enemy chart in Norway. In that chart, there was my name and [Mustafa Kemal] Ataturk’s picture."
The president said he was informed about the issue by Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar and EU Affairs Minister Omer Celik.
Non-Turks don't understand the reverence held of Mr. Ataturk by his countrymen. It was (is?) against Turkish law to, in any way, defame the leader of modern (pre-Erdogan) Turkey. Think George Washington circa 1855.

Defense Secretary James Mattis will get an earful from his boss this morning, after an "authorized user" of the Pentagon Twitter account retweeted ‐ and then swiftly deleted - a tweet calling for President Donald Trump to resign after the president slammed Sen. Al Franken while remaining silent about Alabama Sen. Candidate Roy Moore.
Pentagon spokesman Col. Rob Manning said in a statement that an authorized operator of the Defense Department's official Twitter site "erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense. The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it."
The White House’s official position on allegations that Moore had inappropriate sexual contact with at least seven women when they were teenagers ‐ one of whom was just 14 at the time ‐ is that the Alabama voters should decide his fate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has threatened to expel Moore should he win the seat. Yeah, ZeroHedge, but they post the goods.

[IsraelTimes] Regarding the sudden resignation of former Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too. last week, Eisenkot says the move was "complicated" and "surprising."
Hariri said he quit due to an alleged Iranian plan to assassinate him.
Eisenkot says the move also reflects a decline in support for Hezbollah among the Lebanese, and notes, "Hezbollah is beginning to feel financial pressure and starting to get into big material problems."
[Ynet] Sheikh Kamal Khatib allowed back on Temple Mount after being barred for 3 years, sends out a warning to Israel: 'You thought you could keep the people from the al-Aqsa Mosque, but you saw what happened last July when you tried to put metal detectors and cameras at the gates of the mosque.'
Trouble to follow, followed by another arrest, trial, conviction, jailing, and barring. The man and his movement are scorpions, as predictable as the sun rising.
Sheikh Kamal Khatib, the deputy leader of the outlawed northern branch of the Islamic Movement,
... the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The terror-supporting northern branch is based in the town of Umm al-Fahm...
returned to the al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday after being barred from the Temple Mount for three years and used the opportunity to issue a threat to Israel.
Khatib was barred from the complex after inciting violence in media interviews and in sermons at mosques.
He is considered the most prominent figure in the movement since its leader, Sheikh Raed Salah, was tossed in the slammer Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try! until the end of legal proceedings against him as he too faces incitement charges.
"I am returning to the al-Aqsa Mosque after three years in which I was prevented from coming to the mosque and to Jerusalem," he said in a video filmed at the complex. "This decision prevented the 'landlord' from entering to his home. The Israeli occupier is preventing us from entering the al-Aqsa mosque."
Khatib continued with a threat, "I want to tell Israel: Your decision to ban the Islamic Movement is unjust. You thought you could keep the people from the al-Aqsa Mosque, but you saw what happened last July when you tried to put metal detectors and cameras at the gates of the mosque."
Israel added security measures at the Temple Mount after three Israeli Arab faceless myrmidons from Umm al-Fahm shot up a police patrol from the complex, killing two Israeli coppers, Ha'il Satawi and Kamil Shnaan. The additional security measures led to rioting in east Jerusalem and across the country.
Before being barred from al-Aqsa, Khatib made similar warnings, saying, "The continuous harm done to the al-Aqsa Mosque and opening it to Jews has led to great anger. If talk of dividing the mosque area continues, the situation would explode not just in Jerusalem but in the entire region and the whole world. The Paleostinian people will not remain silent. (Prime ministers) Rabin and Sharon are gone, but the al-Aqsa Mosque remains. (Prime Minister) Netanyahu will also go, and the mosque will remain."
Maor Tzemach, founder of the movement "For You, Jerusalem," condemned the decision to allow Khatib to return to the Temple Mount. "This decision constitutes the crossing of a red line in the fight against incitement. Khatib is among the leaders of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, incites against the State of Israel on a regular basis and organized a support rally for Sheikh Raed Salah in Umm al-Fahm," he said.
