Much of Martha Vickers footage from "The Big Sleep" was cut at the insistence of Humphry Bogart.
Both her looks and her performance upstaged Lauren Bacall and since her previous movie had bombed at the box office the studio agree to please Bogart by increasing her role at the expense of Vickers'.

Goes something like this...
[blows Ms. Vickers a kiss] The knickers is mightier than the Vickers. In the long run, anyway... and not, perhaps, in the particular case at hand.
[Fox5 Atlanta] Two fires on Tuesday may be connected to the opposition to the construction of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center (APSTC) in southeast Atlanta.
Cop City is the work of the Atlanta branch of Antifa. They call themselves Defend the Atlanta Forest, attracting cadres from across the country and around the world — funded by the usual Progressive foundations. Like Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) back in 2020, there is a community camping on the site, rife with rape, drugs, and garbage — and probably some of the same people.
A fire at approximately 2:30 a.m. Tuesday destroyed several vehicles belonging to a concrete company in Lawrenceville.
A spokesperson for Ernst Concrete said the extent of the company's involvement with the APSTC was supplying two loads of concrete for the roadway surrounding the project.
"Ernst Concrete is not the concrete foundation company for the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center," the company said.
According to an online post titled "Make Contractors Afraid Again," they set the fire in an effort to make the cost of the contract greater than the profit. They also encouraged "experimentation with incendiary placement."
A source also told FOX 5 Atlanta that the group may be involved in a fire that destroyed the historic Davis House in Stone Mountain Park.
That fire also started on Tuesday between 2 and 3 a.m. The home, which was 180 years old, was destroyed by the blaze. The house, which was previously known as the Dickey House, was built in the 1840s in Dickey, Georgia, and moved to Stone Mountain in 1961.
However, officials have yet to officially determine if the fire at Stone Mountain Park was arson.
Protests against the proposed training center — dubbed "Cop City" by opponents — have been going on for more than two years. Over the weekend, activists held meetings, concerts, dinners, and direct action to rally support to block the project.

For the record & FBI monitor's out there.
I'll will only apply self defense actions as needed to protect my rights and family.
But given the Far Lefts violent history, I'll have plenty wiggle room.
[Fox] The U.S. Capitol Police said that six of their officers were injured during the protest.
Police in the nation's capital responded to the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee as pro-Palestinian demonstrators grew violent as they called for an immediate cease-fire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) said about 150 people were "illegally and violently protesting" near the DNC headquarters building in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington.
Protesters told Fox News Digital that there were 300 people protesting the war.
"Officers are making arrests," USCP said on X. It advised people to stay away from the area.
USCP confirmed on X that six officers were injured during the clash on Wednesday evening.
Approximately 150 officers and at least 50 police cruisers from The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were seen at the protest, with videos showing protesters violently clashing with officers.
Videos on social media showed protesters shoving police officers and trying to grab hold of metal barricades at the DNC headquarters as the officers forcefully removed the individuals.
Authorities said that the officers suffered injuries ranging from minor cuts, pepper spray burns or being punched by protesters who turned violent alongside peaceful protesters.
The group was heard shouting "Ceasefire Now!" while standing against officers.
Protesters included members of If Not Now and Jewish Voice for Peace, who have organized other demonstrations in Washington D.C. since Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7.
One does wonder how many of them are as Jewish as most of the people who claim to be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day...
Many of the protesters were wearing black shirts that read "Cease Fire Now."

[ColonelCassad] Soldiers of the Wagner PMC in the liberated city of Kidal in northern Mali.
Since the beginning of the offensive by the Malian army and the Wagner PMC detachments, more than 20 cities, towns and military bases captured by militants supported by France and using abandoned equipment of the “UN peacekeepers” have been liberated.
The liberation of Kidal will allow the Mali government to strengthen control over the north of the country in the foreseeable future.
We will see another part of the Wagner PMC on the battlefields of Ukraine, where Wagner will fight as part of the Russian Guard. Actually, they are already fighting.

[Regnum] The US Navy destroyer Thomas Hudner, located in the Red Sea, had to repel a drone attack, the Pentagon reported on November 15.
“We are aware of an incident with the destroyer USS Thomas Hudner, during which the ship successfully defended itself against a UAV while sailing through the Red Sea ,” the department said.
The Pentagon did not disclose any other details.
On October 8, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin ordered Thomas Hudner to head to the eastern Mediterranean due to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He also sent the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford and the destroyers Ramage, Carney and Roosevelt to the region.
Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said on October 20 that Carney sailors intercepted cruise missiles and drones launched from Yemen.

Muslim terrorist groups don’t hate us because of our culture.
Just a personal opinion, but I pretty sure that nobody hates you because of your culture, Panda.
Speaking personally again, I quite admire the suave way you wipe the foam from your lips with your shirt sleeve.

How adorable! If only we would give up those pesky jooses then everything will be all beautiful again.
No worries about that silly billy book, 60% of which is devoted to how to deal with 'unbelievers'. You know, 'strike off their heads, cut their livers and tongues, enslave them...etc'.
Sure is fortunate that would solve it, and after all if you can't trust a mega rich boy and physical coward...going back to the 70's btw like Osama, well who can you trust?

So we had a couple of incoming missiles shot down by a destroyer about 2 weeks ago, we lost a drone to enemy fire a week ago and now direct incoming hostile was splashed. When is that drooling vegetable in the wh going to ask an adult what to do? When there is a f-ing hole in the Med where once there was a ship?
[NYPOST] The Biden administration has extended a sanctions waiver that will grant Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... access to roughly $10 billion from Iraq in exchange for electricity purchases.
The 120-day waiver, signed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken ...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm... on Tuesday, is identical to one issued in July, but comes amid increased attacks against US forces by Iranian proxies and just over a month after Iran-backed terror group Hamas ...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... slaughtered 1,200 people in Israel on Oct. 7.
Under the conditions of the waiver, Iran will receive nearly $10 billion being held in escrow accounts in Iraq that may only be used for humanitarian trade, US officials told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
The waiver extension will also allow the Iranian regime to transfer the electricity payments to accounts in Oman, which can then be converted to other currencies for the Islamic Theocratic Republic to purchase non-sanctioned products, according to the outlet.
US officials noted that Blinken signed the waiver primarily because the Biden administration doesn’t want Iraq to be cut off from a critical source of energy.
"US officials noted that Blinken signed the waiver primarily because the Biden administration doesn’t want Iraq to be cut off from a critical source of energy."
is nonsense as Iraq is not only self sufficient in oil (produces over 4M barrels/day) but is a net exporter (although the pipeline to Turkey is temporarily shut).

[NY Post] The Hamas terrorist who spat on and paraded the naked body of fun-loving tattoo artist Shani Louk through Gaza has been killed by Israeli forces, according to a rabbi who said the “monster is now roasting in hell forever.”
The 22-year-old German-Israeli woman’s mother told a top rabbi that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had killed the terrorist who defiled her daughter, who became the face of the Oct. 7 massacre.
Ricarda Louk revealed “in her public conversation with me that the Hamas terrorist monster who parades her naked body around Gaza, defiling her in the name of Islam, and screaming Allahu Akbar, was killed by the IDF,” Rabbi Shmuley Boteach wrote on X.
“That monster is now roasting in hell forever as will the other Hamas savages who perpetrated this massacre,” added the TV host and author who has been dubbed “America’s most famous rabbi.”
In a separate post, he wrote that Louk “was actually murdered after being tortured, and who knows what else.
The Hamas terrorist who spat on and paraded the naked body of tattoo artist Shani Louk through Gaza has been killed by the IDF, her mother informed a top rabbi.
“Hamas are evil incarnate. They are the Nazis of our time. Whoever denies, after witnessing what they did to this poor innocent woman, that Hamas does not need to be completely destroyed is immoral,” he said.
The rabbi’s claims have not yet been officially confirmed. The IDF did not immediately respond to messages Thursday.
Late last month, Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed that DNA found on a piece of skull matched Louk, who was paraded through the streets of Gaza after the terrorists attacked a music festival near Kibbutz Re’im on Oct. 7.

Peace Festival.
Reminds me of the scene in Independence Day when all them people were dancing and holding signs under the alien ship, "Make yourselves at home".
As the battle intensifies around the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City — and the grim tally of dead civilians continues to rise — the men and women of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are determined to root out their enemy.
Beneath the sprawling complex, insists Israeli intelligence, lies a headquarters for Hamas, a nexus for the vast network of tunnels that spans all of Gaza.
And it is somewhere in this subterranean world that hundreds of Israeli hostages have been held by their terrorist captors for 40 days and nights.
Indeed, the network is estimated to run to a total of 300 miles and is so extensive it has been described as a 'metro system' that is bigger than the London Underground.
The 85-year-old Israeli hostage Yocheved Lifshitz, who was released last month, revealed that Hamas had hidden her and other hostages in a tunnel system that 'looked like a spider's web'.
[NYPOST] Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... i mediators were on Wednesday seeking to negotiate a deal between Hamas ...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... and Israel that includes the release of around 50 civilian hostages from Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... in exchange for a three-day ceasefire, an official briefed on the negotiations told Rooters.
The deal, under discussion, which has been coordinated with the U.S., would also see Israel release some Paleostinian women and kiddies from Israeli jails and increase the amount of humanitarian aid allowed into Gaza, the official said.
It would mark the biggest release of hostages held by Hamas since the Paleostinian terrorist group burst over the Gaza border, attacked parts of Israel, and took hostages into the enclave.
Hamas has agreed to the general outlines of this deal, but Israel has not and it is still negotiating the details, the official said.
It is not known how many Paleostinian women and kiddies Israel would release from its jails as part of the agreement under discussion.
The scope of the Qatari-led negotiations has changed significantly in recent weeks, but the fact that the talks are now focused on the release of 50 civilian prisoners in exchange for a three-day truce and that Hamas has agreed to the outline of the deal has not been reported before.
UN officials say, “Yes, 1200 people were massacred by Hamas, but now thousands of Palestinians are killed.”
And you know, that argument was made before—in the Nuremberg trials, by the head of the Einsatzgruppen, the Nazi death squads that moved around Eastern Europe and killed… pic.twitter.com/pGtHAzoQUx
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A fearless British man threw back seven grenades tossed into a bomb shelter by Hamas terrorists while protecting partygoers during the October 7 terror attack against Israel, terrifying footage shows.
Aner Shapira, 22, was tragically killed by the eighth grenade that was thrown into the shelter in which he was hiding with a group of around 30 others.
The young man was among those killed in the Re'im festival massacre, which saw Palestinian gunmen kill 325 civilians and off-duty soldiers, wound many more and take at least 37 people hostage back into Gaza.
[FreeBeacon] "They were like young, young kids," said Smilansky, who defended his home from terrorists for more than six hours that day. "They were going in front of the terrorists, laughing with their friends and looking very calm. I remember thinking, What the fuck?"
Smilansky was one of a dozen survivors of the Nir Oz massacre who told the Washington Free Beacon they witnessed boys or women from the Gaza Strip looting the kibbutz, helping the armed terrorists, and apparently enjoying themselves. The youngest children were around 10 years old, according to several of the survivors, one of whom provided photographs of some of the women and children he saw. The survivors spoke at a hotel in Eilat, Israel's Red Sea resort town, where most of them have been temporarily relocated.
While the involvement of Gazan children and women in Hamas's terrorist attack is not widely understood, evidence exists in the public domain. An online video of a 12-year-old Israeli boy's abduction from Nir Oz, Israel, appears to show a Gazan boy of about the same age accompanying the kidnappers. Boys were among the mob of Gazans recorded crossing into Israel after Hamas terrorists breached the border. And a Hamas-linked Associated Press stringer photographed a Gazan boy entering Kfar Aza, a kibbutz about 15 miles north of Nir Oz.
Hamas has used its nearly two decades of rule over Gaza to weaponize a generation of Palestinians against the Jewish state, according to analysts. In addition to the children, hundreds of ordinary Gazans, including teenagers, joined in Hamas's bloody rampage across southern Israeli communities, the Free Beacon reported. More at the link.
[Jpost] The delivery was made possible by Israel giving its approval for 24,000 liters (6,340 gallons) of diesel fuel to be allowed into Gaza for UN aid distribution trucks, though not for use at hospitals.
