[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A man who tossed a Molotov cocktail into a Brooklyn bodega after an argument, setting off an inferno that nearly killed the workers inside, was arrested as crime continues to plague the city.
Joel Mangal, 38, threw the bomb inside the store after a verbal dispute with bodega employees, police told DailyMail.com on Sunday.
Video released by police showed Mangal exiting the Nostrand Avenue deli around 8 a.m. on Saturday and then putting what appeared to be two Molotov cocktails on the sidewalk.
He lit one and threw it into the bodega, setting off a fireball that engulfed the store, the video shows. He was about to throw the second before it was knocked out of his hand by a witness.
The deli workers escaped the flames as Mangal fled on foot toward the Fulton Street and Nostrand Avenue subway station. One of the employees chased after Mangal but was slashed on his right hand with a pocket knife by the arsonist, cops said.
'Fortunately, there was no loss of life here,' said FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro. 'The investigative work from the Explosives and Arson Task Force comprised of our Fire Marshals, the NYPD, and ATF, led to the timely arrest of this suspect who threatened the safety of our communities by using such a cruel and destructive device.'
Mangal was charged with three counts of arson, two counts of assault, attempted assault reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
[Axios via Zero] In what Axios has described as "the most significant private equity retirement ever", Leon Black, CEO and chairman of the Apollo Global Management,
...an investment firm with $456 billions assets under management...
has abruptly announced that he is making a complete break with the pioneering private equity firm that he founded in the wake of Drexel Burnham Lambert's collapse.
While Black attributed his departure to health issues, this excuse was so thin as to be transparent: Black is making a complete break with the company amid intensifying pressure for the firm's clients to cut ties over Black's closeness to Jeffrey Epstein, the unrepentant convicted pedophile who is still the focus of one of the most closely watched legal proceedings in the US more than 2 years after his death.
Axios broke the news, and in its report, it pointed out that while Black had been planning to abdicate the CEO role in the coming months, he still hoped to stay on as chairman. Instead of waiting until July to turn over the CEO reins to Apollo co-founder Marc Rowan, Black is leaving immediately, and in addition to turning over the CEO role to Rowan, he is turning over the chairman's seat to former Trump-era SEC head Jay Clayton.
Apollo also added two new directors: Richard Emerson (ex-Evercore Partners, Microsoft) and Kerry Murphy Healey (former Lt. Gov of Massachusetts).
In a relatively terse goodbye statement, Black touted his expectation that Wall Street will be blown away by Apollo's Q1 numbers, while also recounting the damage that COVID-19 has visited on his extended family (and the toll that all the speculation about his ties to Epstein, which elicited an internal investigation, has taken on his health) : Apollo Founder Leon Black said, "I am extremely pleased that we have filled out the two-thirds independent board with such highly-qualified, diverse individuals. In the last few months, not only did we announce a transformative merger with Athene, but also expect to report that our first quarter earnings will exceed analyst consensus in all relevant measures and that the first quarter fundraising is trending towards the high end of our $15-20b annual range. I thus view this as the ideal moment to step back and focus on my family, my wife Debra’s and my health issues, and my many other interests."
"Marc has seamlessly transitioned into the CEO role and I am confident Apollo will soar to new heights under his leadership. He will be in great company alongside seasoned leaders Jim Zelter and Scott Kleinman," Black continued. "Over the past 30-plus years, my co-founders, Marc, Josh Harris and I, have worked extremely hard to make Apollo a franchise built for enduring success. I believe strongly that Apollo’s best days lie ahead. I intend to remain Apollo’s largest shareholder, and strongest supporter."
[JPost] The cult has recently tried to move to Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... on several occasions to avoid its legal problems tied up in its child abuse and other criminal activities, but have been unsuccessful so far.
A court in Guatemala has approved the extradition to the US of two big shots of the Lev Tahor ultra-Orthodox cult — brothers Yaakov Weingarten and Shmuel "Shmiel" Weingarten — where they face child exploitation offenses.
The Third Criminal Sentencing Court in Guatemala authorized the extradition of the two men on Thursday and Friday, after they were charged in April this year by the US attorney for the Southern District of New York for the kidnap of a 14-year old girl and for smuggling her across the US-Mexico border to reunite her with her adult husband.
According to media in Guatemala where the Lev Tahor cult is currently located, the court has verified that there are currently no legal proceedings against the Weingarten brothers and that the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry is therefore authorized to begin extradition proceedings.
It was reported the brothers intend to appeal the decision, with an attorney for the two describing the legal process against them as "persecution."
There have, however, been numerous charges and allegations against members of the cult for kidnapping, forced underage marriage, and various forms of child abuse.
Yaakov Weingarten was arrested in March this year during a police raid on the Lev Tahor compound, while Yoel and Shmuel Weingarten were arrested in a separate raid in April, all due to the charges against them in the Southern District of New York.
The extradition case against Yoel Weingarten has yet to be brought to court since the US authorities have reportedly not yet sent the relevant documents to their Guatemalan counterparts.
The cult has recently tried to move to Iran on several occasions to avoid its legal problems tied up in its child abuse and other criminal activities, but have been unsuccessful so far.
Relatives in Israel of children in the group have lobbied Israeli authorities to help prevent the group reaching Iran, where it would be harder to extract children from the cult.
The group numbers some 250 people, around 100 are adults and 150 are children, many of whom are Israeli citizens.
Last week, The Jerusalem Post reported that the Israeli State Attorney’s Office is yet to request an Interpol arrest warrant for Elazar Rumpler who was indicted in Israel for child abuse and put on trial, but who managed to flee the country and return to Guatemala.
Rumpler was indicted for the severe physical and mental abuse of children under his care as a principal in a school in Canada where the cult resided for several years before moving to Guatemala in 2014 to avoid legal problems.

Ultra-orthodox cultists, ed. Did you miss the bit where they got caught kidnapping a 14 year old girl to take her to her adult husband? Reading between the lines, she had escaped from him and them in the first place, else she wouldn’t need to be taken back across half the hemosphere. The group has raised the ire of the governments of Israel, Canada, America, and Guatemala, and not for refusing to wear masks.

When that guy in Oklahoma put the usual suspects in a twist with his "The ladies room in this establishment is for ladies" sign, I discussed it with a guy I knew who used to own a bar in Philly. He said if a guy, no matter how he dressed or "identified" went in his ladies room, the female customers of his watering hole would have beat the sh*t out of the weirdo with no help from the men in the place.

I spoke to a lady 6'2" lean and no fat to see. Could have been Gabi Garcia's sister. Very short skirt. All dolled up. So I ask her, your not going to work like that!. Your going to cause trouble. She replied no just going to Baltimore for the day. I said Baltimore is a bad town these days. She said her friend and her were trained in martial arts in the Navy.OH, I said thanks for telling me that. I could have been beaten up.
[Epoch Times] At least three people in Virginia died in connection to a hepatitis A outbreak linked to the Famous Anthony’s restaurant chain, officials said. Famous Anthony's is now infamous.
There have been a total of 49 cases of hepatitis A in connection to the Roanoke [VA] outbreak. Thirty-one of those cases have resulted in hospitalizations, officials said.
According to the Mayo Clinic, hepatitis A is a "highly contagious liver infection" caused by a viral infection. "You’re most likely to get hepatitis A from contaminated food or water or from close contact with a person or object that’s infected. Mild cases of hepatitis A don’t require treatment. Most people who are infected recover completely with no permanent liver damage," the organization’s website says.
Symptoms include vomiting and nausea, low-grade fever, fatigue, yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes—known as jaundice, itching, dark urine, and joint pain. Generally, symptoms are usually mild and go away after several weeks, although a severe hepatitis A infection can last months, according to the website.

At least three people in Virginia died in connection to a hepatitis A outbreak...but will be classified as COVID. However, all is not lost. They'll vote Donk in a few days.

San Diego had a street outbreak among the homeless outdoorsmen. Portable sanitary facilities and handwashing stations pretty much fixed it, so you get a good idea of how it was spreading

Got vaccinated for Hep A years ago in preparation for living in the 3rd world. It's remarkable how much that experience has helped with living in today's America.
[RT] WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange ... Australian journalist who founded WikiLeaks in 2006. WikiLeaks made the Big Time in 2010 when it published a series of leaks provided by then Bradley, since Chelsea Manning. After the 2010 leaks, the United States government launched a criminal investigation into WikiLeaks and asked allied nations for assistance. U.S. officials are seeking to prosecute Assange under the Espionage Act, blaming him for directingpublication of a huge trove of secret documents that disclosed the names of people who provided confidential information to American and coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.... isn’t mentally ill and his psychological problems are solely the result of the abuse he suffers in isolation, Nils Melzer, the UN special rapporteur on torture, has told RT’s Going Underground.
It would be a "tragedy" if Assange died in London’s Belmarsh maximum security prison due to his poor health, Melzer replied when asked about such an unsettling scenario by host Afshin Rattansi.
If he should die in prison he's effectively been tortured to death. That’s the reality of it, and I’m not exaggerating.
The official said he had visited Assange behind bars in May 2019 together with a team of medical experts and "we all independently from each other came to this conclusion at that time that his life was in danger." The publisher’s mental and physical condition has entered a "downward spiral" since then, he added.
The WikiLeaks co-founder has been held in Belmarsh since April 2019 over breach of bail. Before that, the 50-year-old spent seven years holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the British capital, where he sought refuge after an arrest warrant was issued over sexual assault allegations that he had always denied. The investigation against him was eventually dropped due to a lack of evidence. Assange’s supporters insisted he was actually being persecuted over his legitimate journalistic activities.
China needs growing room
(eg 1938 Nazi Germany / Sudetenland).
QUESTIONS:
What good is captured land and cities IF it is devastated by conventional / physical war, with rebuilding would take a generation and massive resources?
But if "_______" introduce a DNA marker based Virus that practically eliminates a certain ethic group/Race? Then "___" could move into already built cities and housing, do a clean up and restart the infrastructure in months not a generation.
Don't think for a second China or only nations are the only ones that could play with DNA targeted Viruses. Because we have at least a dozen loony Eco-Freak / power hungry Billionaires floating around that might like the 1975 Movie "Roller Ball" premise.
The WUHAN LAB and Staff would only cost around $25 Million build-out and hire staff in under 2 years.
What is to keep any nation or a Rich Nutjob from doing it, and silently introducing it? eg. a DNA focused virus to reduce
fertility for India, Africa, Europe or the Americans

Tangentially, one might notice the ethnic cleansing of the Sudetenland of Germans after 1945. Doesn't seem to be a big thing with those who chorus 'right of return'.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] North Korea ...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche... ’s supreme leader Kim Pudge Jong-un ...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished... has told hungry citizens to resort to eating black swans amid the country’s ongoing food crisis, the New York Post reported on Friday.
The country has been pushing ornamental birds as a protein-rich substitute while opening breeding plants, according to the report.
"Black swan meat is delicious and has medicinal value," said the Hermit Kingdom’s ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, to push bird meat, which is rarely eaten across the world.
Research into breeding these ornamental birds began in early 2019. Researchers sponsored by the state went so far as to say that the meat had "anticancer" properties, Korean news outlet NK News said.
The news media also previously called black swan meat "an exceptional health food for the 21st century with a unique taste and extremely high nutritional value."

[RT] Police and witnesses say 17 people were maimed in a stabbing spree on a busy Tokyo subway train. The suspect, who also set a fire on board the train, was reportedly dressed as Batman’s ’Joker’.
The 24-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday night after allegedly stabbing 17 people on a train heading toward Shinjuku, the world’s busiest train station. The Tokyo Fire Department told AP that three of the 17 victims were seriously injured. The suspect also doused parts of the train car with a flammable liquid and set it on fire, Japanese state-owned news organization NHK reported, citing witnesses.
Witnesses described the suspect as dressed in the purple suit and green shirt of ’The Joker’, a villain from the Batman comic books. Several photos and videos shared by Japanese Twitter users purportedly showed the knife-wielding suspect smoking a cigarette on the train carriage shortly before his arrest.
The suspect reportedly told police that he wanted to commit murder and be sentenced to death, and that he drew inspiration from a previous train stabbing case, AP reported, citing Nippon Television.
The Halloween rampage came two weeks after a 45-year-old man was arrested for stabbing two men at Tokyo's Ueno Station. Both victims were hospitalized and the suspect — who was reportedly "rambling incoherently" and carrying a bloody knife — was soon apprehended by police.

[JustTheNews] A South Carolina congressman has introduced legislation to open a dozen new ports of entry in America, seeking to shift the burden of President Joe Biden's border crisis from Texas to wealthy enclaves favored by Democrats like Martha's Vineyard, New York's trendy suburbs and Silicon Valley.
Rep. Ralph Norman, a Republican, said he introduced the Stop the Surge Act last week as a companion to similar Senate legislation sought by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). It would require all future illegal aliens captured at the border to be shipped to the wealthy, liberal enclaves.
Very dramatic, but it won’t get out of Committee so long as the honourable Nancy Pelosi is running things.
"All these prosperous areas that you see, you know, million dollar houses, let's send them there," Norman told John Solomon Reports podcast. "And let's let them exercise what they claim to be compassion on illegals.
"Look at the strain it's going to put on the police departments, the first responders, hospitals, schools, and we're going to highlight this. ... So let's ship them to those areas that can afford to find out what it's like with these illegals and deal with them."
Norman's legislation would establish 12 new ports for processing of illegal immigrants, including:
Palo Alto, Calif., the epicenter of Silicon Valley, where iconic companies like Google, Facebook and PayPal once incubated.
Greenwich, Conn., and Scarsdale, N.Y., in the shadows of New York City, two of America's wealthiest suburbs.
Rehoboth Beach, Del., where Biden's family has a vacation home.
Cambridge, Mass., a ritzy Boston suburb favored by high-tech and biotech executives.
Martha's Vineyard, Mass., the famous summer vacation bastion for liberals, including former President Barack Obama.
Nantucket, Mass.
Block Island, R.I.
North Hero, Vt., home to socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, a former Democratic presidential candidate.
